As you can see, the applique is not perfect, but hopefully good enough. Tinka Belle is making another set of bows as my bowmaking skills are NOT great!!!

Cute! You did a fabulous job and I think your bows look great!

Nope I didn't get Autopunch. The Futura Software had Arial, Courier, Block, Script and Times. I think it is going to take me some time to learn how to use the machine. I have read the manual though ::yes:: I will look at the site you listed.
Thanks for your help.
.

You read the manual? I can never past the first page without falling asleep!

oops! Sorry so big, I forgot to resize!

I wouldn't even know where to begin.

I love your outfits. Bet you could always find each other!

sewingroom.jpg

SOOO! I'd love to see where you sew!

Trust me, You don't! :rotfl2:

That looks great! I wish I had a nice space to sew. I sew in my bedroom on a little fold away table....I'm going to have to buy a sewing table though because this table shakes when I sew.

You should try to sew on a card table!! It bounces up and down! :lmao: I graduated to the dining room table after that.

Looks like you had a good time, andMegan always looks great no matter ho wet she got!

have a particular ruffler foot that they can recommend for a singer machine? Anybody ever use a ruffler foot on their serger? I just bought a singer serger and there is one that goes with it.

Just learning my serger. Is your singer a slant shank?

Well - they are not "outfits" but here is a pic of some pajamas I made for DS this weekend. I have one more pair to go.
I got a BUNCH of plain T's at JoAnn for $2 each!!!
DSC_3088.jpg

I love these. The Pirate one is my favorite. They look like you can use them as short sets.

I am a long-time lurker (since the first thread!) and sewer (since I was 12--*ahem* thirty years ago  ) but have never posted here.

Anyway, I just want to say HI to the fellow lurker I saw in the Christiana DE JoAnn's today. We were both at the pre-shirred fabric section! I didn't end up buying any----I called home to ask ds to measure dd8 but I didn't quite trust his measurements :lmao:

I did however buy 3 of the $1 patterns for dd8!

Hi LuckyMama........... I'm not the "lurker", but I live in Wilmington around Prices Corner. Glad to see you post!

So I labeled and uploaded 88 pics into our joint photobucket account.:cool1: And then there's this issue with "tagging". I have no idea how to do this....or what happens if I do. I started to do it and it looked like it was going to resize my picture or something. I don't know,,,, I am not exactly computer savey :badpc: Heck I can't even spell right now.

We had a long long but wonderful day which is coming to a fast close. Oh one more comment/question. I wrote a title and a description for each of my 88 pics. How do you get the description to show up??? Or when does it show up??? :rolleyes1 OK off to bed I go...hi ho hi ho its off to bed I go...:rolleyes1

Oh yes...final question....has anyone seen the new Narnia movie yet? Prince Caspian....We are going this week I think or next to see it. I heard its really good. :offtopic: ::yes:: ;)

My computer froze up on me while I was trying load them. I'll try again later. I had to get Photobucket help me get out of Mobile. However I did that!!
My neice saw Narnia and loved it. I'm on vac this week and hope to fit a matinee in. After I see the new Indy that is.

Steph, hair spray takes out ink pen marks, spray it on there put a washcloth or paper towel behind the spots and blot from the front and the ink should be gone.

Hope that helps!

Usually anything with alchol in it helps. At work, we use baby wipes.

What a FANTASTIC idea!!! That is very clever!

We filled the big Potato Head this year, it was so much fun! However, we realized after we got back to our room, that we had only got ONE nose! And it was a weird yellow one! Poor Ariel Potato Head has a weird yellow nose now! I need to find some more noses somewhere!

We LOVE Mr. Potatoe Head. I have a huge 20g. paint bucket filled with Mr. PH.

Hi Cindee...sorry to hear about your computer. I had something happen to me, where it totally crashed and I was able to go into the history and reset it to start like it was another day, and everything came back. I don't know if you tried this or not...
I too..have stuffed an entire oufit into the trash, pattern and all, while trying to sew while angry...LOL

My Mother usually fishs out my outfits from the trash and fixs it for me. :rotfl2: Thank goodness for Moms.

So that leads me to my great idea...that somebody else may have had...but it popped into my head a few weeks ago. My DD wants to have a bag to carry at WDW but I did not want to have some bag that messed up her outfits Soooo I bought a bag at Wally world and I am going to make covers for it to match her outfits, plus it gives her a strap to put pins! Seemed like a good solution to me!

Way back in the dark ages, when I was a teen. We used to have pocketbooks where you buttoned on/off different covers. That is a great idea to match the customs.

I love your bows!!! I wish I could make bows that looked like that. Maybe I should make the Mickey bars to match someone else's outfit.
those bows are really easy! they came form free instructions here:

http://bowdesigns.50webs.com/

they are the loopy surround a bow. I really think yours are great! Mabye if you just did red and black so it will go with the minnie dot outfit too?

I have been trying to keep busy lately. I have made Lauren a couple of non-Disney outfits for this summer.

I need you opinion on something that happened this weekend.

My cousin is getting married July 5. This has been known since last summer and we were told that our daughter would be invited. The wedding is 2 hour away from our home but my parents and other family all live local to the wedding.

So I get an invitation to the shower and attend that on May 3. I was generous with my gift even though I am NOT close with this cousin. We were informed at the shower that the invitations went in the mail the day before so we should be receiving them that week. Again, I was assured that Lauren would be invited.

I get the invitation and send the positive reply back immediately (so maybe 3 weeks ago now). My mother gets a phone call from my cousin’s mother 2 days ago saying that Lauren is now NOT invited.

Everyone we know local to the wedding will be at the wedding. We have no babysitters that I would trust for Lauren to stay with. My mother already told my aunt that we would not be attending the wedding since Lauren cannot go now. My aunt and her daughter think we are being ridiculous. Lauren is only 3 and I really do not feel comfortable leaving her with someone I do not know well. And the wedding is at 4 pm so in theory we would be out later than bedtime.

It was suggested I go to the wedding alone. However, July 5 is my birthday. I want to spend it with my husband and my daughter not at some wedding where my daughter is not welcome. And so I do not get flamed, I understand a bride not wanting kids at their wedding. What makes me so upset is that we were told she was invited numerous times over that past year and now after we have responded yes we are told she cannot come.

Am I wrong? Any thoughts?

I'm way, way behind here, but when I logged on yesterday to catch up I decided to just bow out. Hopefully I may have a chance to go back and see what others have created over the weekend. I did take the time this weekend to get a couple of pictures of the new outfit I made for Megan and get those off of my camera, so I can share.

First is the YCMT Knot purse without the knot. I made this for Megan's teacher for appreciation week (and just finally downloaded the pictures). I left off the knot because I thought it would be more to her taste that way. I really like how it turned out.

knotpurse1.jpg

knotpurse2.jpg

This is that new outfit that I made for Megan. I purchased the fabrics a while ago and she picked them out of my stash and told me what she wanted for an outfit. I'm not sure that I would have chosen these two fabrics together but that's what she wanted. The pants are CarlaC's easy fit pants. For the top I used a dress bodice and then drew out the bottom part. Megan loves it even though she wasn't thrilled to model for me.

Yes, the pool is not opened yet and very green and the deck is in desperate need of stain. Those are our June projects. :)

I LOVE that purse! I made a bunch a couple of months back (Bunko prizes...went over pretty well...sorry jham!)!

Your color combo on the outfits is ADORABLE! That orange swirl is to die for! GREAT job!:cool1:

I found the strawberry fabric at Joanns. They did not have much left though.

I wouldn't go to the wedding, especially since they changed about your daughter going so late in the game.

Everyone's outfits are gorgeous!!!!

It's hanging a little askew and it could use a little ironing. I used Carla's Simply Sweet halter dress pattern and easy fit pants. Isabelle said she liked this fabric and it was one I knew I could find. I did the adjustable/buttonhole elastic in the waist again and this time I made a buttonhole for it to stick out of on the inside of the waistband. I'm getting better at that!

princessmom29, I would love to make a bracelet to match your cute outfit. Let me know if you don't have one.

If it were me I would stay home and do what is best for my kid. I DO NOT leave my 4 year old with anyone but my mom or sister EVER. It is a personal comfort level thing and they will just have to understand. After all they were not exactly forthcoming with this info!

These are great! I can't even make many pj's for my DS because he won't wear them (pj's, that is, says they make him too hot) :headache: Where did you find the Transformer's fabric? I bet he would wear shorts from that material.

Yikes! So, I'm trying to play catch-up here! Lots of things posted here. . .

So, as I was skimming I saw someone posted a vintage minnie! Sorry I didn't quote you - I had to lose the quotes because I had entirely too many!

Anyway, in light of recent things, I'd like to share my vintage minnie - I had originally held it back from posting here and I did put it on :wizard: a while back. But I'm hoping that people don't stop sharing their wonderful creations, so I know I'm going to continue sharing mine. I may put it up on :wizard: again sometime, but for now, it's hanging nicely in Ella's closet.

Anyway, I had a lot of fun making this one:

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday night - I'm headed to work :sad1: Hey, at least it's holiday pay, right? That's what I'm telling myself anyway. That and I have 9 days off after tonight! Famous last words. . . .

That is absolutely adorable Lori! Love the hat! :lovestruc

I wouldn't go. I would send a not rescinding my RSVP and be done with it. I would think it was a little rude to not contact me with the information that my DD wasn't invited. But that's just me.

Am I wrong? Any thoughts?

I don't think you are wrong at all...you were told that your daughter was invited. So that is what you planned on. It's frustrating to be told you can't bring your daughter at the last minute. It's bad manners on the brides part really. At least in my opinion. It's just basic good etiquette to give those with children ample notice that they will need to secure child care. If you don't do that, then you have to accept that they won't be able to be at your event. It's not your fault.

I got married at a private vineyard. They had a pretty strict "no kids under the age of 12" rule unless we had a specified "child wrangler".It's a working vineyard and they have lots of farm equipment and did not cover children in their insurance policy. So we just made it a blanket "adults only reception", with the exception of my step kids. (they were covered under our homeowners insurance that we had to have on file with the vineyard!) I sent the invitations out in PLENTY of time...and a save the date...specifying said rule.

My cousin showed up with his young son anyhow. :confused3 At the end of the day, what were we going to do? Ask him to leave? The venue manager was really nice about it and my cousin's son was good as gold for the most part.

and not that this matters...but my cousin didn't even give us a gift...or say thank you...or even "I'm sorry we couldn't get a baby sitter"...he's just rude and we've NEVER been close. I invited him b/c I had to...he used to throw rocks at me when we were little...

not that that is EVEN the point...but still...*ahem*

The point IS...sometimes people don't care how they might inconvenience others. It sounds like your cousin has a very narrow field of vision when it comes to her wedding. Most brides do. What she said last week may have no bearing on what she says now.

girls are SO Bridezilla these days.

You have every right to be annoyed.

Family functions can be difficult. If they REALLY don't want children at the wedding, can you maybe go for the ceremony and let your daughter stay with daddy...be there to show your support, but not stay for the reception? It kind of makes a point. You were there, you fulfilled a family obligation...but can't stay b/c you have your OWN family to tend to as well. No one can give you a hard time for not going...and if there is still fussing going on, that is on them. You've been put in a difficult spot by their last minute changes. You had to make a compromise. It was not your choice to do so, but you have to make the best of it. Nobody could ask for more than that.

hang in there!!:goodvibes
