IMG_1108.jpg

These are all soo cute!!! Great job!!!

I bought fabric for my big give outfit today!!!! I can wait to start sewing, but it haqs to wait utill my house gets clean!!!:(
:rotfl2: Cleaning comes before sewing??? Shhhhh...don't tell my DH that! Hahaha.

HeatherSue, disneylovinfamily, Dreamer & Wisher, MouseTriper Thank you! I'm sorry if I missed anyone. I must admit, I skimmed the last several pages. But I appreciate the kind thoughts. I haven't heard anything, but I imagine no news is good news. Or at least neutral news. Scott is going to see Papa Tom tonight.

I hope everyone has a wonderful, calm, relaxing day.

Rachel

Hope all is going well still!!!

OK, so I'm half done and here's the proof!! I took a bit of an easy option compared to the creations I know some of you will make, but they've still tested me. Sorry about the rubbish photography but me and the camera aren't seeing eye to eye at the minute!

Here's number one:

Picture171-1.jpg

Those all look great!!!! She is going to love them!!!!

There are a few things that I'll do differently next time, but overall I think it looks pretty good.
MinneDress002-1.jpg

I'm totally picturing it in my head with a white crochet cloche (that I'll have to buy. A girl only has so much time for creative pursuits, lol.)

Wow those are adorable. I love the Minnie one!!!

Now that I have a few days off, I'm going to go shopping tomorrow for fabric for my BIG GIVE project! I'm excited! I just hope it turns out as cute in person as it is in my head, you know? I can't wait till everyone starts posting pics of what they've made!

Ohh I know you are gonna make something wonderful. I totally agree with you...I can't wait to see all the pics for the BIG GIVE!!!

Hey I don't have a project for the BIG GIVE. I want one!!!
Aww you are too sweet, I PM'd you.

MouseTriper is heading it up. PM hwer and I am sure there is something you can do!
Thanks!!:goodvibes

I need help re: the Big Give. I choose to do a Donald Duck themed outfit. I bought an appliqué on eBay but not sure what type of outfit/pattern to make. I don't have many creative bones in my body so any creative thoughts/suggestions you may have would be great. I was thinking a-line top with capris. Any other thought?
donald.jpg

Oh I LOVE that Donald Duck applique...so stinkin' cute. I see you have gotten some ideas from others already so I just know you will come up with something awesome!! I can not wait to see it!

This is the front.
S2010135.jpg
I used the Boutique top pattern and just used the front of the pattern for the back. The pants are the CarlaC Easy fit pants.

That turned out so cute!!:)

PM Beth, I'm sure there is something you can do! I just think it's wondeful how many people are participating in this!!!
OMGoodness, it is amazing how many people responded to my BIG GIVE idea. You guys are amazing and I just know that we have ALREADY made both Alicia and Isabelle smile. I spoke with them both on the phone this past Friday and they are so excited and extremely appreciative! Ohh and Isabelle is just a little cutie pie!!!!! They are gonna flip with excitement when they see everything!!! THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH!~!!!!!

I have 2 boys (6 & 23months) and a daughter (9) that I sew for, so it sometimes seems lonely. Everyone seems to have little girls to sew cute things for. I feel like I have to search and search and search for patterns and ideas for my kids. Thought I'd share a couple of boy outfits I've made. If anyone has others, I'd like to see them!

Aww your boys are so handsome...love the outfits!!!

Aww so cute!!!

Lordy, what did I miss (rhetorical question, please don't answer that!)? I guess I am just glad this thread is still standing.

We had a great time! Here is Megan at princess lunch (it was raining, so we were a little droopy, she looked much cuter before the rain, I promise!):

IMG_0530.jpg
Aww it looks like you guys had a wonderful time!!!! Loved all the pics...share more!! Hahaha.

Whew! Just got caught up. My internet has been down all day so I had to sew :confused3 I finished my Big Give outfit and am working on the bows. I keep forgetting bows are not my thing. :lmao: I had to try it on my model (the closest thing I have around to a size 6 :rolleyes1 ) to get an idea on length and I must say it looked cute on, my model *ahem* was pretty cooperative but drew the line at taking pictures.
:confused3 What still NO pics??? LMAO....okay I guess seeing as though you were working on a princess outfit, it is a GOOD thing you did not make Luke smile for the camera while modeling. :rotfl2: :lmao: Poor little guy!!! Hahahahaha....I really can't wait to see it though!!!! popcorn::

I am alomast done with my Big Give outfit!!!!! I just have to do the ruffle on the top.
Yippeeee......lets see pictures!!!! I can't wait to see what everyone is working on. I better get busy and start mine!!!

BIG GIVERS!!!!

Is anyone making a Mickey Mouse outfit?? I have some bows that I made that I thought would be cute to go with a Mickey Mouse outfit. I just need to know what colors the outfit is if there is one being made.

These are the bows. Jenna got alot of compliments on these and a Diser that we ran into wants to buy a set of them.
S2010212.jpg

Please PM if you are doing a Mickey outfit for the BIG GIVE.

I know PrincessMom29 is working on a Mickey themed outfit. (just in case she misses this post). Those bows are darling!!! How awesome!!!

SHHHHHH!!!! they are Mr. Potato Head parts. I bought them from the Laughing Place on line. I picked up some more when we went to Downtown Disney. I got some other parts to make more bows with.

VERY cool idea....!!!! :cool1:

Very cute! I think I love the Nemo outfit best.
Thanks! That one is still a little big on her, so I may be able to let her wear it again in October.

Those are all so cute. I think the one with her in the AK outfit makes her looks like Bindi. (The Crocodile Hunter's daughter)
A lot of people tell me she looks like Bindi. I've heard that at her preschool many times :)

These are beautiful!!
Thank you!

WOW - she is gorgeous and so are your creation. You are very talented!!! The AK outfit is my favorite!
Thank you!

I love the outfits!!!! I am very parital to AK outfits (since Lyddy adores animal print!) Yours is darling!!! Thanks for adding the pictures to the Photobucket account too!!!!
Thanks! Not a problem, I don't see as I have anything worth copying anyway LOL

I think everything looks great! Thank you for sharing. :thumbsup2 Keep us up to date on how your daughter is doing.
Thanks! I will

This dress is sooo cute!

I love Donald Duck. I did a Donald Duck outfit for Jenna. It didn't make it WDW though. She wore it before the trip and when I washed it the straps frayed and I didn't have time to replace them. This is the outfit that I made her.
This is the front.

And this is the back.

I love this

I love bows, but my dd doesn't seem to keep them in :(

ok, I'm back after 7 HOURS of work on my computer :furious: . It is still not done, but I can open hotmail now LOL and load smilies. :cool1:

I have not tried photobucket yet.

But I did learn, "you should not try a new pattern, on a new machine when you are angry".:bitelip: :worried:

A friend gave me some uncut patterns from the 60's thru the 80's and I tried what APPEARED to be a simple sundress.......... I am going to have to take it apart and umm read the directions LOL.

Hi Cindee...sorry to hear about your computer. I had something happen to me, where it totally crashed and I was able to go into the history and reset it to start like it was another day, and everything came back. I don't know if you tried this or not...
I too..have stuffed an entire oufit into the trash, pattern and all, while trying to sew while angry...LOL

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS. It gives me some inspiration.

I am amazed that so many have finished or almost finished their BIG GIVE outfits. We have until July, right? I haven't even decided on a pattern. Then I still need to find the fabric. I am waiting to go fabric shopping until the appliqué arrives from eBay so I can match/coordinate colors better.

I have a project, but I want her outfit to be unique so I haven't come up with a pattern yet. I get to do Giselle!!!:cool1: I love Giselle. I want to do something really pretty for her. I know that Jenna and I both loved all of the compliments that she got this year while wearing the customs that I made her. So I want Isabelle to have the same thing. I think that feeling like a princess is the best gift for a little girl.

I HAD to step away to get in my WDW frame of mind and took a chance to come back this morning.:cool1:  :cool1: So glad I did! You guys are hard to resist!:goodvibes

I love everyone's creations! I did get some sewing done...last minute my DD HAD to have shorts to go to a baseball game today. Stange field trip...to a baseball game :confused3 . Anyway, I made her some shorts and will post this afternoon.

Oh and funny story...I made her a pair of shorts Friday to go with an outfit, and bought just enough fabric to make the shorts...however, I used the measurements for my DS6 to cut the fabric and sew!:headache: Too bad he can't wear them...kinda girly! I'm gonna make her a cover for her bag with them anyway...

So that leads me to my great idea...that somebody else may have had...but it popped into my head a few weeks ago. My DD wants to have a bag to carry at WDW but I did not want to have some bag that messed up her outfits Soooo I bought a bag at Wally world and I am going to make covers for it to match her outfits, plus it gives her a strap to put pins! Seemed like a good solution to me!

Oh, I am sure you will come up with something beautiful and original. I agree about letting a little girl feel like a princess. It make me laugh but when I ask Lauren if she is a princess she says "No Way Mommy." She is not really a girly girl which I am OK with as I was not really either.

SHHHHHH!!!! they are Mr. Potato Head parts. I bought them from the Laughing Place on line. I picked up some more when we went to Downtown Disney. I got some other parts to make more bows with.

GENIUS idea! I may need to look at Mr. Potato Head parts a little closer!

Well - they are not "outfits" but here is a pic of some pajamas I made for DS this weekend. I have one more pair to go.
I got a BUNCH of plain T's at JoAnn for $2 each!!!
DSC_3088.jpg

Very cool! I love the pirate iron on. I have looked at that many times.

Please tell me you didn't put that outfit on Luke!!! That poor baby. I don't blame him for not letting you take pics. He's a very smart boy.

:rolleyes1

I just started mine now because I had some time to do it this week.

Aw, you about made me cry! I was making Isabelle's outfit and Lily thought it was for her and I told her "it is for another little princess" and she yelled "I'M THE PRINCESS!"

I want to see pictures! And that reminds me, someone else was looking for baseball fabric, they had some cute baseball fabric at my Joanns.

Yes, I think you can do it. It is fairly straight forward and has lots of pictures. Plus feel free to ask questions here if you get stuck as many of us have made that pattern numerous times.

I need help re: the Big Give. I choose to do a Donald Duck themed outfit. I bought an appliqué on eBay but not sure what type of outfit/pattern to make. I made dd2 a sailor dress with Donald on it for her birthday. I don't have any pics right now, but I should be getting some in the next day or so.

I'm way, way behind here, but when I logged on yesterday to catch up I decided to just bow out. Hopefully I may have a chance to go back and see what others have created over the weekend. I did take the time this weekend to get a couple of pictures of the new outfit I made for Megan and get those off of my camera, so I can share.

First is the YCMT Knot purse without the knot. I made this for Megan's teacher for appreciation week (and just finally downloaded the pictures). I left off the knot because I thought it would be more to her taste that way. I really like how it turned out.

This is that new outfit that I made for Megan. I purchased the fabrics a while ago and she picked them out of my stash and told me what she wanted for an outfit. I'm not sure that I would have chosen these two fabrics together but that's what she wanted. The pants are CarlaC's easy fit pants. For the top I used a dress bodice and then drew out the bottom part. Megan loves it even though she wasn't thrilled to model for me.

Yes, the pool is not opened yet and very green and the deck is in desperate need of stain. Those are our June projects. :)

Clutterbug (Amy) ~ love that outfit! So bright and cheerful!

I started cutting out the pieces to the peasant top. I even remembered to make sure the flags from the material lined up so we have nice straight lines. :thumbsup2 I will start sewing it this afternoon when the kiddos are napping.

These dogs are so much worry! We found a great kennel (I am VERY PICKY about where my baby goes) where they (the owners) stay the night with the dogs. Oscar has always seemed to love it when he goes. If the parents give the okay that they can socialize with other dogs they are given around 6 hours of play time each day. Every dog has it's own room (no cages) with a doggie door that leads to an outside run. During the summer there is a pool for the dogs to cool off and swim in (built into the concrete patio, it's about 10 feet in diameter) and they give everyone a nighttime treat. They also take pictures of the dogs playing (at Christmas Oscar had a reindeer headband on - like the dog on Grinch:) ) and keep track of their eating and bathroom habits (which I told them I wasn't too concerned about so they didn't have to document it - yuck!). They will feed them their food (Bil-Jac) but we always bring our own so his tummy doesn't get upset from changing. Of course, it's expensive and no where close to our house (around 30 minutes away and of course away from the airport) but he's worth it!

Oscar wouldn't do well if he was left here by himself so this is our best alternative. Good luck with Darby, hopefully she will have many happy and pain free years left with you!

Wow, that sounds like a WONDERFUl facility!! I wish we had one like that close to us!!!

Here's MY chime in on Dog kenneling! (I have 10 minutes between meetings! this is my reward!!)

We left my darling BJ at the VET kennel last year...y'know, state of the art, vets on hand at all times...safest place right? WRONG!!! They grossly misrepresented their facility and the way it was run. The dogs were left from 7:30 pm to 8am...they were all in wire cage runs ALL DAY, no contact with other dogs or humans, and not allowed their blankies and toys and comfort things...BJ got HURT (a nasty scratch on his nose that got infected) and nobody called to tell me AND he was so traumatized after that horrible stay that he reverted to little puppy behavior for a WEEKS. He cried if I wasn't in his eyeline at all times. I strongly suspect the only time he got attention was when he was fed b/c he wee'd on the floor every time he heard his food dish clink. AND I'm fairly positive that the guy they had minding the dogs most of the time was on America's Most Wanted...I'm SERIOUS.

He goes to the PetSmart Pet Hotel for Doggie Daycamp during the day and he loves it...but we left him there for five days over the holidays and I wasn't happy with his frame of mind when we returned. (Don't LAUGH...he was UPSET!) His blankie had been wee'd on and not washed...and I got the impression that if the dogs had an accident in their room they sort of romped around in it for longer than they should have. AND the last time he spent the night there he came home with Kennel Cough!

SO...this summer we are having a puppy sitter come to stay at hour house. The last time we did this I thought it freaked BJ out b/c it was his house but not his mom...but then he cried when the baby sitter left...which made ME not happy. But overall, I think pet sitting in at home is the best thing for my baby!

what? I'm not crazy. I'm just thorough.

*ahem*

it's part of my charm.:thumbsup2

You did an awesome job on the applique! The dress is adorable! I love the full skirt.

Do you ever feel like there will not be enough time to make all of the outfits you have planned? We have 9.5 days to go and about 7 things still to work on. Ugh!

All the time...and I'm not even sewing for a disney trip...:rotfl:

Great outfits! I feel the same way. I have a DS and DD is 8 1/2 and not very girly so while I have lots of ideas, I'm always reworking them to suit my kiddos.

These coordinated outfits are wonderful! Great pictures!

Ok, this is what I've been working on this long weekend. I still have lots of work to do (organizing all the drawer space, labeling, I need to get another bookcase for fabric storage). I've been able to somewhat clean this space up.

th_sewingroom.jpg

SOOO! I'd love to see where you sew!

Your space looks great! I really like how you have your fabrics in the bookcase so they are always in your view. I think that would be great inspiration. My sewing/scrapbooking area is one small corner of my dining room so everything is pretty much hidden away.

Showing Cinderella her book. She was impressed that "her castle" was on the cover. Poor Megan, her hair was in a cute bun before we got caught in the rain. She had a tiara too but said it was "too itchy."

IMG_0539.jpg

Looks like you had a nice time. I love this picture! So sweet that she took the time to look at Megan's book. It reminds me that I had your autograph book multi-quoted yesterday, but must have lost it when I logged out. You did a wonderful job it!! :thumbsup2

I can one up you on that one. I didn't feel there was anyone I could trust to watch my babies so we took them with us. Yes that's right two dogs, one child (in a carseat) and two adults. Tight fit, but I knew that my babies were going to be ok.

I finished my BIG GIVE OUTFIT!!!!!
Here it is:

As you can see, the applique is not perfect, but hopefully good enough. Tinka Belle is making another set of bows as my bowmaking skills are NOT great!!!

That is SEW CUTE! Great job!

I've thought about this, but wondered does it end up as a font you can type the words into or do you place each letter as a separate image??

Thanks!

Each letter is a separate image. You have to merge them together to make words. There are programs that allow you to type out words and it turns it into designs. However, they are pretty expensive.
