Aaahhhhhh I finally finished this! I actually had a skirt about 50% done when I put a big hole in the denim as I tried to remove some stitching (stupid hem of the other side got caught in the stitches). Since I couldn't find a plain denim skirt in the right size, I had to improvise and convert a pair of jeans. Anyway, after buying a second pair of jeans, I started over and this time the skirt remained whole. LOL This is the first time I've done the ribbon "fringe"... and I think it will be something I do again soon.

BTW - I'm SO glad Zoe's no longer in the tiny sizes like this set!!! I can't believe how much harder it was to do the applique on this (it's a 2T).

I LOVE it! Olivia owuld LOVE that set! lol, But is a 2T as well and I HATE to applique on her stuff cause it is so hard!

BTW- My daughters name is Zoe as well! lol, You do not eet many other people with the Name Zoe! I know she will be excited to find another one. Shejust asked me the other day why i did not name her Amanda or Sarah or something common! lol

Where do you get the friends around the world fabric? I can not find it anywhere :( I would love to find some to make my girls an outfit! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know where to find it! i do not have a Hancocks here Only Joann's but if there is a website that sells it, I would LOVE to know!

That is super cute!! I love the crown! I that an embroidery design? And your dd is so cute!!!
They had the friends/epcot fabric at my joanns last week.
And :bday:
It says it's your birthday on the other thread. Have a great day!!
I finally found the pettiskirt at the Disney Store! They were cleaning out the back room because we had way too many boxes and they were taking them to an offsite storage. I asked the stock manager if he had seen a box labeled pettiskirt. He had just put that box on the cart to go, so I snatched it up, found my dd's size (I got one size larger) and put it to the side. She loves it!

Gotta get ready for the day at the museum- Have a great day everyone!!

I did some sewing this morning. I finally finished the Cars top. I do not like how it came out. It is uneven in the back. thank goodness, my dd has long hair!
2008_0423Image0002.jpg

I also made a skirt for me out of a sheet! This is the first thing I made without a pattern!:cool1: I still need to put in some elastic. Mom has some so I will have to visit tomorrow!

Those are both really cute. Where did you find that sheet? I love it.

I just wanted to post so y'all didn't think I dropped off the face of the earth! I have been having some computer issues. But, I just got a new computer this weekend, so I'm back in business! I've been pretty busy trying to get things in order for our trip. Only TEN MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!

Tessa already has 11 outfits (one made by Aunt Teresa) for our 10 days at Disney, so I'm done sewing for her. Sawyer has 5 mommy-made outfits, so he's good, too. I just need to hem up my Minnie capris and finish making some iron-on shirts for the family. Then, I need to make a list of stuff to pack. If I don't do that, I tend to freak out that I've missed something.

I went shopping yesterday and bought myself 3 pairs of capris, 5 shirts, and 2 bras (not an easy thing to find). I was so excited because it's been a while since I bought myself much. I didn't just get a bunch of plain t-shirts like I usually do. No, I got myself some t-shirts with fancy necklines! :rotfl2:

Tessa's sick today (throwing up), so I need to give her some extra lovin'. Her kindergarten testing is tomorrow, so I hope she feels better by then!

Anyway, I won't have time to catch up on here right now. I just wanted to check in with you!

Oh, I put some video reviews on expotv that you might be interested in watching. I reviewed my Brother CS6000i sewing machine and my ruffler foot. They didn't pay me for the ruffler foot review because it didn't meet their new standards and that really irks me. So, if you like it, click "yes" where it asks if you found the review helpful.

Hi everyone - Thanks for all the well wishes for my surgery. I actually came home last Friday - but this is the first day my eyes have cooperated and I was able to focus. Couldn't even enjoy lurking. I have been up to my sewing room a couple of times - just haven't felt like sewing. DD has Daddy Daughter dance Friday night and I do have material I was going to make a summer dress with shirring - did some samples of that and love the way it looks. So maybe I can get to it tomorrw.

As for the surgery every day I feel 100% better than the day before. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2/22 and oppted for double mastecomy with immediate reconstruction. The mastecomy/reconstruction was last Wed. So far so good. Have not yet been able to look at the scars - can see enough from above. Chemo will begin inn 3 weeks. I am 48 years old and have a DD9 and DS7 plus a wonderful husband.

I just wanted to say thanks once again for all the well wishes and prayers you all sent my way - to a perfect stranger - this is such a nice and friendly board - you were able to ge me out of my lurkdom. I hope to be regular poster here. even with pictures

Marla

Glad you're improving. Looking forward to seeing more of you--and your creations!--in the future.

I am excited!!! I got the children fo the world fabric and the minnie dot with 2 in dots at Hancock today. Both were 20% off. I got the last two yards of the children fabric. but they had a whole bolt of minnie dot. It was the 2 inch dots and, it was $2.99 a yard.:cool1: :cool1: I also got some tutti frutti for a sundress. It was 40% off. Now I have a question. I thought about cutting some small squares witgh the children in them out and appliqueing them on a solid bodice in a kind of random pattern. Do you guys think this will work???

It should look terrific! :)

Cute!

I think I'm going to wait until Abi's (my cousin's little one) a bit older before I attempt much applique. She's celebrating her six-month birthday today!

The Cars top is cute. You probably can adjust the back neckline with a bit of time and patience. But the long hair works, too! :)

Glad you took some time to make something for yourself. I like the sheet/fabric!

that ribbon fringe is ADORABLE. I'm so glad you said it was a 2T. I looked at it and thought that it seemed awful young for your daughter. It was one SERIOUS blonde moment on my part. :rotfl:

:rotfl: Zoe thought the skirt was cute but she didn't mention wanting one. ;) Actually, I'm worried she won't wear the sets I'm making for her to wear on our trip. She's mentioned a couple times that she might just wear jeans and a tee! :scared1: I've decided it might be best to pack while she's asleep or at school so I can pack only what I want. :rolleyes1

Oh sure you just had to post this tonight -LOL- I'm taking the kids to the children's museum tomorrow to see the sesame street exhibit!! Now I'm feeling guilty I didn't make the kids special outfits!!! :rotfl:
Well they are going to wear mommy made clothes so I guess that's something!!:rotfl:
Seriously -You did a great job!! I love the appliques!! So what are you going to do with the legs of the jeans??

Oh, I definitely am the same. Zoe didn't have anything special to wear for any of the recent holidays except Halloween and Christmas nor for the 100th day of school.

As for the jean legs, I don't know what I'll do with them. I have quite a few of these hoping to get some inspiration. LOL I did use one leg from different jeans for a bodice of a dress once. I should do another one.

Great job! I want to make myself a skirt...someday....I was thinking I just might want to be Fairy Godmother for Halloween this year (we are planning on going to MHT at Disneyland)

Last Year Someone Posted A Picture Of A Skirt Embellished With The Mickey Head Buttons, The Ones That Are Sold In The Scrapbook Area. I Would Like To Do Something Similar, Does Someone Have The Picture Of This That They Could Repost. Thanks

Very cute! It's kind of a double edged sword don't you think though, the bigger sizes are easier to make but they get too big and don't want wear it. What is a talented mother like you to do!!!!

You do such incredible work! Fantastic job and I love the ribbon fringe! I did one for my daughters for Halloween 2 years ago before I knew how to sew really. I like the way they turn out!

Poor Tessa! That stinks! Hopefully she'll get over it quickly and no one else will catch it before Disney (or during for that matter!).

I finished Lily's goldfish skirt. I think I like buying a top and making a skirt to match. These are the bows I ordered on :wizard: I think they are GINORMOUS but they are cute. Do you think they are too much? I can wait until her head grows into them. :rotfl:

LisaZoe~ That applique is beautiful!

For you ladies that make bows what tutorial did you use? Or are you just naturally gifted lol. I am going to have to start some big projects to keep my mind off things. Looks like we are going to be losing our baby she is going back to an aunt. So I was thinking of making Alaysia a bunch of bows for her hair.

Jham that is PRECIOUS! I love love love it! I love the crying face too. Some of my favorite pictures of my kiddos when they were little are when they are crying ... I am aware I am demented. :)
