Thanks for the pic. It helps, I dont know what to do. I know DD loves dolls and this will probably be the last opportunity to get her one @ WDW- but they just bug me. Stuffed animals- LOVE THEM! But DD- doesnt really care about them. You should see her with this baby doll. Covers it with a blanket, looks for it, carries it around, gives it a bottle- shes not quite 2- where did she pick this up from???? But I also want to make her happy- my ultimate goal. Im just hoping if Im going to drop "real money" it's a doll I can handle looking at day to day. LOL. Do I sound really really weird?
That one wasn't too bad price wise. She was somewhere in the 20 something dollar range.
Tinka Belle, that's the doll that Delaney picked out. I was surprised since she had been talking about getting another one of the Disney baby plushies. She's got the Minnie one somewhere, I couldn't begin to tell you where.
DD doesn't play with hers much. Notice the well kept hair and still in tact braids. :rotfl:

My DH DID have a cow....and some kittens. Hence the "fire sale" I value my happy marriage more than my fabric....and he promised to get me REALLY drunk that night.
LOL!!!
I just love you to pieces!!!!!! :rotfl2:

A bitty baby is an American Girl doll that is a babydoll. There are also bitty twins that have hair. They are supposed to be toddlers. They are cute too. The Historical dolls and the Girl of Today dolls are for a little bit older girls. They all have stories that go with them and I believe that they are supposed to be 10 years old.

I am a doll lover and I think that I love this stuff more than my girls do!

I love dolls too!!!!

BUT, the American Girl Doll folks have SOME nerve doing a 70's girl.

Course, I was barely born in the 70's.

 I love them though!!!!

No wonder every one's making matching clothes, they are SPENSIVE!

My DD10 has Bitty Baby and some AG dolls and still loves ALL of them. DD2 got Bitty Baby for Christmas and really loves her as well. She calls her "Baby Anna".

Whats the difference between a bitty baby and say an American Girl doll? DD has a couple a "sweet pea" which is really a plush doll for infants, and now she has a baby doll- the kind that is sort of a molded plastic, it came wit ha bottle and potty an diaper and changing pad and wets if given a bottle of water. She loves that doll! I got it with the intention of using it for potty training. I am not a doll person, but I dont mind the ones with hair. The baby doll ones creep me out (that and clowns) But if DD likes them...
I was thinking of getting a doll made for her in the Germany toy shop this next trip, I dont know when we will be back again. I am considering TTC again-and I wont want to go to WDW PG.
Has anyone gotten one of those dolls? Or know what they are like?

I was about 15 weeks PG when I took ds with friends to WDW. It was a really great time to go. It was ds first time and I thought it was a very special trip. DD is 20 months and is in  with Babies- any babies and all babies!! She shares her drinks and tucks them in to their bed. It is so precious! She also gets down on the floor and drives the trucks around. Kids are so funny!! :cutie:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: I have TEARS!!! You cracky me up!!!
It feels good to say cracky again- it's been awhile :rotfl2:

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SALE!!!! :sad1: :cheer2: and later that night ;)
you don't want to be  the next morning!!

I forget to tell you all that I saw build a bear sticky notes in the $1 section at michaels- they were kind of like paper dolls. There was a pad of bears, an accessory pad and a pad of outfits. thought some of your kiddos would love those!!

HI everyone. I have been off the computer for a few days. Life has been busy, but whats new. Things are still the same. Hard but getting by. Still looking for a car.

I haven't even had a chance to sew. Boo for that! Off to catch up on this new thread!

Glad to see you back. I was beginning to worry about you and Georgia.

Hi Guys! :wave2: I just want to tell you guys that I love everything that you all make. It is all wonderful! I don't have any kids of my own, but tons of nieces and nephews (and we just keep having them.....there will be three more this year!)

I don't actually sew clothes but I am a quilter. Or trying to be one at least. I actually just got done making three baby quilts for a shower on last Saturday... which is why I actually have time to post and keep up with all your wonderful creations. Not that you all are easy to keep up with... I kind of feel like I need to quit my job to be able to read it all! Not sure my hubby would like that. What does he know anyway? :rotfl2:

On the American Girl dolls - I can't believe how much more there is than when I first got mine. I had Kirsten and LOVED it... even though I am not a doll person. It was a good day when the catalog came in the mail. I'm actually thinking of giving mine to my niece since she just mentioned wanting one this past weekend. But I have a question... why would some of you wait until they are older? Just because they appreciate it more and take better care of them? Or is there some other reason? Remember... no kids of my own. But I am a very indulgent aunt. It's my job.

Thanks for sharing all your great stuff! When I have enough posts and my sister sends me the pictures of my latest quilts, I'll have to show you guys!

It went wonderfully!

By "Memorable Day" do you mean uber extended family teen drama including tears? Then yes it was very memorable. My 19 yr. old niece (who has wayyy too many funky body part piercings) darling Boy friend is in jail (again) and was in the middle of some personal drama that was really hard for me to keep a straight face while listening to. Now, my other niece, age 16, who every month thinks she's pregnant, wore shorts so short (she's at least 230 lbs if she's an ounce) that I told her "Her foof was hanging out" Except I used the "V" word. She just laughed but I was dead serious. My other nephew, foof girl's brother, brags about the porn he downloads on his phone....his parents don't care.

He's 13. I told him he's making the Baby Jesus cry....

Oh! I was missing a $20 out of my wallet I noticed after they all left.

That hurts my soul.

Been kind of a crazy week...that helped.

:scared1:

We have one of the twins. It has hair and eyes just like my dd. My SIL bought it for her one Christmas. She also got the matching outfit that the doll has on. Once day I will have to take a pic!

camelotcats - Best of luck with your sale! I wish I lived near you!

Yep...I have decided the world is working against me!!!!:headache: So, after my 1950's machine died, you will recall I stole my mother's...guess what, it is dead. Seems that Mom has not sewn in about 30 years. How old is her machine:hippie: ...soooo here are my options...get one of them fixed or buy a new one. My across the road neighbor (just think that sounds funny) loves to sew. She is in tight with the local viking machine dealer. She has offered to take me to see her and help me find a machine.(feel like I'm off to see the wizard) She said they will let me buy on time:banana: , so I think this may be the time for a new machine! Lord knows, I'm not hand sewing these outfits!:scared1:

So, does anyone have a viking? What are your pros and cons? Help!

I'm glad you checked in, too. Good luck finding a car!!

This is what I made this weekend for DD's 4th birthday party:

It's chocolate cake iced with oodles of buttercream icing, I think I gained 45 lbs just from licking the beaters!!!

Vikings are awesome. I have 4 Vikings sewing machines and a viking serger, and I love them. They are reliable, adn many dealer offer free classes on how to use your machine.

One warning: Vikings are EXPENSIVE. I used to sell them, and a lot of people got sticker shock. The huskystars are good, too, but if you have the $$, I would recommend an entry-level viking. Sometimes, they will have a "trade-up" machine which is slightly used, but still under warranty. Those are usually great deals. Good luck!!

I have the highest end machines, and one mid-level machine, and they changed the entry level machines since I worked for Viking, but if you have any questions, feel free to either ask here, or PM me.

So, I have spent my morning washing fabric and looking my new patterns. Here are the things I bought yesterday. (although some of it was stolen from my moms stash!)

Of course, I got to thinking. I haven't sewn anything since September and maybe I should practice first. So, I found a pair of cute sheets I think I will make an outfit out of first. I don't want to ruin any of this pretty material!
