OK, super far behind as usual ;) Here's what I've been up to:

I'm learning to digitize so I made a super simple princess slipper applique If anyone would like it, you can get it in the free designs section at http://www.sewforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=97376

sorry no modeling pics, but it's simply sweet and easy fit pants by CarlaC

And another princess dress for disney, bodice is simply sweet jumper style by Carla C and the skirt is from Ottobre.

And this fabric did not wash well at all for me. I found it was bleeding on the mickey faces and hands in the wash and then it also bled on my applique fabric. I let Cam wear it once and then took the buttons back off and got rid of it

And a couple of other random things I made for Gabi can be seen on my Flickr for those who have time or an inclination to look ;) I would have gotten better modeling pics for you guys but there was no hope, both kids were sick all week :sad1:

Look how cute you all are! I love that picture!

Hope everyone is feeling better now. I love the ottobre skirt, it is so cute.

That stinks about the fabric running, after you made that cute appliqué too! Boo!

Thank goodness it was a machine embroidery one and not one that took ages or anything ;)

Okay so seriously...I would fail the glucose test. I simply can't NOT throw up gag inducing thick liquids...even typing that makes me gag a little bit.

So is this test a MUST? Is there another way to test for it? What would happen if one was going the "totally natural", taking prenatal vitamins and that's IT as far as medical intervention route? I've been reading y'all...I've been reading about how women are CONVINCED that this or that test is "necessary" when really it's just for the doctor to keep his rear covered and his malpractice insurance prices down...so women are told things that are scary sounding and made to feel like they have to submit to unnecessary testing and needle sticks and exams and such.

this freaks me out.

I don't like being fibbed to and I don't like being a pin cushion so the doctor can have lower insurance premiums.

am I just a nut?

I had kidney problems when I was little and i was in and out of hospitals and a total pin cushion for big mean jerk face doctors who would say something wasn't going to hurt and then it DID...just another issue that makes the MissCammie Personality Soup!

Has anyone seen the Ricki Lake documentary "The Business of Being Born"?

I may go the hippie "Don't touch me" route.

:hippie: :flower3:

No thick liquids for my test... it was like drinking Hawaiian Punch. Ok, so it's been 20+ years since I'd last had Hawaiian Punch, but that's the best way to describe it. The hardest "test" for me was the ultrasound... they had me drink 32oz before the test (so they get a better picture). Well, I get into the gown, on the table and all gooped up and the tech tells me my bladder is too full - she can't see anything :scared1: She has me go to the ladies room which is attached to the ultrasound room... where I know the tech and DH can hear me!

My cousin elected to have her daughter at home... she had complications and according to my aunt should have gone to the hospital. After that my mom kept asking me if I was going to have DD in the hospital. :rotfl: It actually was never a question for me.... I just had a feeling I would need a C-section... and 26 hours after being induced I was wheeled into the operating room. DD had gotten stuck, so that had to "help" her out.

Since we seem to wearing Miss Cammie down on the baby thing.....here's some more pics to keep the feeling alive!

This is Michael, he was just a couple of months old (pre-digital).

Here is Parker -- she is 1 day old!

:lmao: Thanks!!!

what precious children!!! I love babies...as Teddy always says..."They smell like toast!"

:rotfl2:

Sorry, I just had to weigh in on this subject too. I am one of the needle phobic too. I had Hep A when I was 3 and actually remember being strapped down for blood for liver enzymes. Had to be checked every day for 3 weeks to make sure there was no liver damage. I happily submitted to every test and had my baby in a hospital, b/c my best friend almost lost her baby and her life 9 months before I had mine. Her baby was jsut too big to fit through her pelvis. It was literally a spatial impossibility and b/c she insisted on natural and was so anti c section they almost waited untill it was too late. The baby has heart deceleration and she started bleeding heavily. The doctor had suggested a ce section hours before, but she insisted that she would have the baby ******lly. I don't tell this to scare anyone, but as a caution not to insist too much on no medical intervention. It can really be necessary sometimes. She only gained like 25 lbs and had a 9 lb baby.

Goodness...the censors are NOT kidding tonight...I wonder if they read my TR chapter on the Susie sighting...:rotfl2:

that is certainly a concern. I guess for me, I've always felt that being pregnant does not mean you are sick. Most women can and do deliver healthy babies. It's the billion dollar business of giving birth in this country that has us believing that everything that CAN go wrong during a delivery certainly WILL.

Large babies do not run in my family so I can only hope that any child I have will be little bitty like I was.

I don't know y'all...we've got custody garbage starting up again...I wonder sometimes if the stress of that always hanging over our heads would be a good environment to bring a child into.

i don't know. i'm all over the place with this...like I have to decide...NOW!

;)

Just got home from the carnival and soccer, what a long night! Maybe I'll catch up, maybe I won't, lol.

This is for Angela to show her my haircut. I am growing the layers out in the front and the back is cut short. I like it and I think I'll like it more when the layers are grown out more.

Look how crazy I look! I took four pictures and this was the best one.

SUPER CUTE!! I love that look!!!

Since I am in a show-off kind of mood, here is the oldest picture of the kids I have on the computer. They could have been so cute in customs: I just didn't know!

DSC00389.jpg

Look how little they are! :sad1:

Okay seriously, Megan is SO your Mini-Me!! I can see your face in her SO clearly. Too too cute! Look at those LONG LONG legs you are standing on! Megan is going to be a force to be reckoned with...gorgeous long legged little thing that she already is! y'all are going to have to start carrying a "boy walloping" stick... My granddad kept his on the porch!!

Ok, my mom sent some pics, since we lost all of our pictures. :sad1:

this is Spencer right after he was born (not cute):

And this is currently the youngest pic I have of Brianna, their birthday party, he was 2 she was 1:

AWWWWW...what a cute first picture!!! Was it scary having a C-section? I'm so dang clausterphobic...and bossy of my own personal space. AND my friend got a spinal infection b/c of the epidural and she nearly died...which would of course be the thing I'd be thinking about! Plus I'd be afraid the doctors wouldn't like me and they do something mean...like tattoo "Whiny Baby" into my incision...That would SO happen to me!

The family picture is making me sniffly.

:sad1:

Can I give these to the kids as they arrive? Im not doing any games or anything. I have like 12 adults and 6 kids coming. She is only turning 2 so its more of a adult gathering. Or should I give them out as they leave and let them just play with each other?
Ages of kids range from 7-11m, with several being almost 3 or 3.5

Edited to Add-----Oh and I need help with food suggestions-
Right now the plan is burgers and dogs
cake and ice cream of course
-potato salad, which my mother is bringing
Im having a brain fart- what else should I be offering?
some ppl are driving up to 2hrs to get here so I want to be sure theres stuff for everyone
My DS will be turning 2 in June! I am also planning a Mickey Mouse party for him. I can't decide on doing it at our church gym or ballfield or going with Chuck E Cheese. I may even have a Mickey character come out. I love the treat bags! Very cute. Looks like you have a good menu going. I would just add chips and drinks. Make it easier on yourself and enjoy the party. The kids will entertain themselves. I agree that if you give the treats early, it may get messy. :scared1:

Just wanted to share my newest dress! Thanks for letting me share! I just love this site and all of the awesome designs!

This is also made from a shower curtain that I got on Clearence at Target a while back for $4.99! lol

Oh and I have had lots of ? About where I got the Winnie the pooh sheet. We have this store called Gabes, which is a discount store that sells seconds. I bought it there for $4.99. It included a pillowcase and the fitted sheet. I know you can find them on Ebay. I will be going back next week and if you would like for me to pick one up for you, just let me know!

Steph-Meghan looks just like you.
Angela and Steph- you guys are adorable. I love the older pics they are so sweet.

See, I always viewed being pregnant as being a host to a parasite. :rotfl2: I HATED being pregnant, both times. And I kind of always DID consider being pregnant as a "form" of being sick because of it. Before a lot of medical interventions, the BIGGEST mortality cause for women was childbirth. I htink you need to figure out what is the best level for you. No one in my family had a history of birthing problems (Other than a VERY premature still birth my 3-pack-a-day-while-pregnant grandmother had....though she delivered fine). Still, Spencer was diagonal, adn when they thought they were feelign his head when I was in labor, it was his SHOULDER. We both almost died. VERY bad scary story, NOT to be shared with women thinking about having children.

I barely noticed I was even having a c-section. I was SO out of it at that point from the pain and the eclampsia. I wasn't lucid. All I did was scream I wanted to see my baby, since they had to check him and it was like 4 minutes before I got to see him. I was mental, I swear. I was doign so badly that literally 2 minutes after that pic was taken, they had to put me under general anesthesia and shoo DH out of the room. He left BEFORE the baby. I swear. Later the Ob admitted she was worried I wan't going to come out again, and they didn't want him to see me die. :scared: At thatpoint, my blood pressure was close to 300/150. To this day, they don't know how my heart didn't seize.

OK, TMI! Sorry!

I got the spinal right through a tattoo. :rotfl2: At that point, I was beyond caring.

YET, after having basically a textbook "worst case birth where mom and baby are perfectly fine and healthy at the end"

TWELVE MONTHS AND TWO DAYS LATER I had Brianna....who was Breech. :headache: Stubborn thing.

This is adorable! I will def. be looking for shower curtains from now on! May I ask what pattern you are using for the jumper? I love the style of this!

Also, love you girls' new hair do's! I, too just got mine all cut off, but there will be NO pics, because I DO NOT LIKE IT AT ALL! It is really not the cut, but just that my hair is ugly in general, no style looks good anymore! My hair is falling out by the handfuls and has gotten really thin, and my mom is driving me crazy about going to the doctor, but I just don't have time!

I also LOVE all of the baby pics! Sooooooo precious!

There are just way to many pages to catch up on, but everything is amazing as usual! I have to say I never have really seen anything bad on here! Way to much talent ladies and gentleman!

Thank You! The pattern is made by Farbenmix and is called, Merike or something like that. I will get the exact name tomorrow because i do not have it here with me right now.

I think the funnest thing about sewing is finding all of the neat things you can turn into dresses! I love fun prints and finding it on fabric is not always possible. I have used Shower Curtains, Regualr Curtains, Bed sheet (A personal favorite) Old tee shirts, old jeans and so much more. I love to turn old things into something new! Thanks again!

I sooo know what you are saying! I love my kids, but I HATED being pregnant! I was sick the entire time and was at the emergency room constantly from being dehydrated! It was AWFUL! With my first I was in labor for 17 hours and pushed for about 4 hours until Sydni's heart rate dropped and I had a fever of almost 103!:scared1: I was rushed in for a c-section and at that point I didnt' care! I just wanted my baby out and healthy! I planned a csection with my 2nd! I was not going through that again!

All I can say is wow... I just spent 3+ hours catching up and you guys have been busy busy busy! EVERYTHING is fabulous! Not that I'm surprised as you all are so talented and make me wish I already had kids and outfits to sew. :goodvibes I've been at a work conference the last couple days and was having some serious disboard withdrawal (for those who know where the Lake of the Ozarks is... the Lodge at the four seasons was :thumbsup2. I would definately go back).

I did get the purse finished for my sister but I didn't get it mailed. :scared: I am ashamed. But seriously, I had to clean and pack and who willingly goes to the post office on tax day?!? So I will mail it tomorrow. I already warned my sister she wouldn't get it on time and she understands :goodvibes Good thing to because I called to wish her happy birthday and woke her up. :rolleyes1

Anyway, here it is. Sorry the pictures are not so good, but they are better than the first set I took. :confused3
DVC00033-1.jpg

There are straps; I just moved them so they didn't cast funky shadows. And here's a close up of the three fabrics.

DVC00031-1.jpg

here's to hoping she likes it! and that I get it mailed. not that I'm notoriously late at getting cards and presents out *ahem* :rolleyes1

Oh! I forgot - you have to have 10 posts to do anything fun... that includes multi-quotes. I know... I tried a couple times before figuring that out...

I could tell her my adoption story-NOTHING is as scary as that!:lmao:
The "highlight" was the "delivery" 22 HOURS on a plane with a REALLLLLLLLY mad 4 year old who kicked the seat in front of her for 12 HOURS!!!!!! non-stop.

AND I had her picture for 2 YEARS before I could go get her. (How's THAT for a long "pregnancy"?

ohhhh the story I could tell ::rolleyes1
