I want to cry. I don't know why the needle isn't catching the bobbin thread. I've threaded and rethreaded. I know it's correct know. I'm so frustrated, tears are coming out :sad1: I just want to sew!

Sorry, don't know how to help you. Maybe take a picture of your bobbin in its bobbin casing and post it so we can visualize what type of bobbin you have?

Was the set called something in particular (just wondering if there is a better search than "Disney Princess Sheets"

TIA!
I don't remember what they were called. I know I bought them last fall on disneyshopping.com.

Thanks!!! I can't wait for Heather to see it! :rotfl:
When Lydia saw it she said, "Why is Aunt Heather smiling and you are not?"

Well, look at my HAIR!! Would YOU be smiiling with a hairdo like that???
OH MY GOSH!! I about died laughing when I saw your new siggy picture!!! I CAN NOT believe you are puttin' that out there for the world to see!!! That was probably the last time I ever looked good in a bathing suit! :rotfl:

Good Morning, I'm just finishing a cup of coffee while ooo-ing and ahhh-ing over everyones talent. This thread is my new habit.

I have cut out a "trial run" dress this morning. (25 dollar a yard fabric for a bridesmaid dress deserves a trrial run) I haven't sewn for myself in about a million years. It has also been about a million years since I was a size 10 and this sewing for a fat lady isn't fun. (I'm also not sure of a size for myself so I had to get a tape measure out. {{ouch}} I have lost 25 pounds in the past 4 months and I don't have a clue what size to start with until the tape measure was applied.

I picked up a pretty fabric on the dollar table at Walmart. Wish me luck.

My youngest is not real tall... I just cut the bottoms off a bathing suit and I'm going to use a piece of the material to put on a tank top to make an outfit.
I'm so glad we're your new habit! Can't wait to see what you make!!

Thanks! She really does look a lot like Heather. I was always so proud of how pretty Heather was. (Still am!) I was always slightly geakier than her!
You are just the sweetest sister, EVER! :lovestruc No one has ever had a better sister than you.

Heather, I forgot to quote it, but I love that jumper & the bear's dress. Is that pattern supposed to fit 18 in dolls? If so, I just had a great idea....
Yes, that's the 18 inch doll pattern. What is your great idea????

Hi Everybody..
Quick update on me...LOL
I went and took my NCLEX. I don't know what it stands for...only that it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. By question 14 I was ready to give up. I actually had the lady come over and assure me that I was taking the right test. I managed not to cry until I got to the elevator. I cried the whole way home. It was an absolute nightmare. I called friends who had recently taken it and they said it wasn't bad...I graduated top in my class, how could it have been easy for them...stinkers..anyway, after 2 days of worrying, I found out today that I PASSED!
I'm so happy. I actually cried, again, when I saw the screen and saw the word pass. I had to look at it twice before I really saw it.
Thanks for the kind words everyone! It's a huge relief to get that over with... Now let the sewing weekend, begin!!!
:yay: :yay: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

heather - I love westies! my riley is a westie and he's at work with me today. (great job on the clothes too)
I like westies in general. But, Daphne has absolutely no manners! :rotfl: She's constantly scratching at my legs as if I'm a door and she wants to go out! She gets a little nippy, too. I'm sure Riley is a sweetheart!

th_IMG_0322-1.jpg
Tell her we're proud of her, too! She looks adorable in her new skirt!

How funny! Great costumes!!

and I'm sure you were charmed from the beginning since ELISA is a very important biochemical assay!
I used to ELISA on 96 well plates on a daily basis - LOL!
 Okay, I feel REAAAAALLLY stupid now!

th_IMG_1098.jpg

Even sadder it is snowing today so I don't know when she'll ever wear all the summery stuff I keep making!
Well, at least we know that Saylor is even cute when she's not smiling! Lily is radiant, also!! I love their little matching outfits, and the pile of clothes in the background! LOL!

It got up to 56 degrees here today!! People were driving with their windows rolled down and walking around in short sleeves. Woo-hoo!

I'm getting so frustrated!!! I've been trying to thread my stupid sewing machine for almost an hour and I'm obviously doing something wrong! I'm at the point where I need to pull the bobbin thread up through machine but it's not grabbing it! grrr....This is harder than it seems!
Okay, this might seem like a dumb question, but are you holding onto the top thread when you're trying to get the bobbin thread to come up?
If you are, I'm worried that the timing might be off. That's what was wrong with my machine once when the needle wouldn't catch the bobbin thread. It was going to cost me more to get it fixed than to just buy a new machine. I posted a video of it on youtube so everyone could help me. Let me find the link for you so you can see if your machine is doing the same thing:

It's been a month since I went to our "local" Joann's. Last time I was there I was frustrated over the amount of flannel and lack of Disney fabric. I decided to go back and see what they stocked up on now that its spring.

Drum roll please..:rockband: I actually brought my camera and took a picture of all of it...

th_IMGP5104.jpg
That is absolutely pathetic!! I just went to our Joann today and there was a whole row, about 10 feet long, 2 shelves, of Disney fabric! I guess we are very lucky!

I LOVE IT!! How cool that you made it with scraps, too! The pictures turned out adorable!

That is great Elisa!!!!! I'm so happy for you!

:dance3: :yay: congratulations. Great job That is really something to be proud of.

:offtopic: I am wondering why we don't have a smily face sewing? We have all these other cute ones to use hmmmmm I wish I was talented enough to make one.

ok as promised Megan at hornor roll with her new skirt on.
th_IMG_0322-1.jpg

Megan and the skirt are adorable!!!!!

Okay, I took a break from sewing and updated my trip report! In case you've been anxiously awaiting...:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:
I was just checking this afternoon to see if you'd updated yet!!! WOO HOO!!!

Here are Lily and Saylor (the first time she ever DIDN'T smile, I think the poor babe is teething) in the outfits Sugarbees made them. Lily was THRILLED! She had to put it on immediately (hence the pile of her discarded clothing in the background) and kept saying "we twins". Too bad she is sitting in the photo and you can't see the cute pants she has on underneath.

Yes, folks, that's right. There were two bolts of Car fabric with checkboard coordinating fabrics. One flannel Ariel and that was it. :confused3 And thats all they've had for the past 4 months I have been checking on them. Pretty pathetic huh. Luckily, the Disboutiquer Sohappy is going to hook me up with some fabric she managed to find! Thanks!

Here's a pic outside today I also took....Happy Spring Everyone!!! :flower3: :sunny: :flower3:

IMGP5103.jpg
That stinks about the fabric, but look at those flowers!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing that with us!!!

Okay, here come a lot of pictures because Lily was in the mood to model! This is what I made with my Easter dress scraps. This is the newsboy hat (it was fun to make something different), Carla's simply sweet dresses and tops:love: , and Carla's easy fit pants from YCMT. Next time I will make the elastic pieces longer because the size 3 is a little snug on my 2yo. That being said, LOVE the pattern! It was very easy and I will definitely use it as a "staple" pattern.
Here is my artsy fartsy playing with photobucket's limited editing abilities photo:

Here is my editing out the runny nose dripping down the face photo (it would've turned out better if I'd used photshop, but then Id've had to change computers):

Love the pictures and the color chang in the first one! oh and I like those dots. THose are always my favorite!

Yay!!! I did it!! It only took 2 hours!!! :lmao: It must have been the timing. Because I gave myself a breather, sat down and did it slow and it worked. Threading down...figuring out how to sew together what I cut....to go....

Are you holding a piece of the bobbin thread out while you turn the wheel?

Teresa-every time I see your siggy I bust out laughing about the hair comment! The reason being is that when I was very young I had that exact same hair cut!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I'm glad you got it to work, and it wasn't the timing! That can be expensive to fix!!

Now, go sew something!!!

Hehe, I'm glad you like it!!! Anything to make you laugh!! Maybe I should put a picture of David in there too, in his Jams!!!! :lmao:

You are pretty sweet yourself!

Pictures????

Really, could it have been ANY worse??? It's a permed mullet!!! :rotfl2: With humungo glasses!

xdanielleax- You have the same machine that I have and I had the same problem. I had the needle in backwards. Read through the manual and make sure that the needle is in straight cause if it's not than you will have nothing but problems when you are sewing.

Thankfully, I don't have any pictures, they are all at my mom's but trust me, it was exactly the same! Picture that haircut on an 8yo girl!:scared1: that is scary!!!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Thank you! I was a bit askeered of the pattern, but it was not bad. It took me a little while to make it, but I think from now on it won't take that long. If you do get it, just make sure you go by your DDs head measurement. I made Lily a size large :scared1: but it fits perfectly.

Oh yeah, well I had the haircut AND the glasses!

We are off to Disney On Ice Princess Wishes tomorrow! Lily is sooooo excited, she keeps asking "can I dance?" I was going to let her wear her fancy Cinderella dress we bought at Disneyworld but I CAN'T FIND IT!!!!! SO she'll have to settle for a leftover Cinderella custom from our trip! I'm adding this on an edit or I would insert laughing smiley here. :)

Pictures????

(sheepishly raising hand) I graduated HS in the 80's. I, too, had a permed mullet. No pictures here!
