Oh my goodness, that's adorble!! I love how it matches her name, too! She is a little doll!
Since I'm sharing, I think it was Teresa who asked about my name stories, so I'll share those, too.

Whew! That was very long-winded! Sorry!
Thanks for sharing your name stories! I think you chose just the right names! I love the scrapbook page, it's so pretty! I was worried that Tessa or Sawyer wouldn't look like the name we had picked out (we knew the sex at around 20 weeks). But Tessa looked just like a Tessa and Sawyer looked just like a Sawyer!
That is adorable, too!
On a related note, we have a family wedding this summer. I was thinking of making both Lauren and I coordinating dresses - something in a floral print for me and something coordinating but not matchy-matchy. DH says we will look dorky. What are your thoughts?
What do husbands know? I think it would be really cute to match. I want to try and match the kids at Disney while we're there, too!
My goodness, ladies! You all make me feel mighty guilty for buying matching t-shirts for our Disney trip instead of making them! I thought I was so cool to do some iron-on transferables on the back! The dresses and outfits are inspirational and you each are so encouraging to everyone!
Just lurking, but keep the photos coming. I guess I need more jealousy in my life!
With quadruplets I don't expect to be starting a new life in sewing, but maybe when they start school in a few years I can start a new hobby!
For names we had plenty of time to decide as I was on bedrest the whole pregnancy, but I also had a lot of rules since I had taught in elementary schools for 12 years. It had to be short, easy to spell, no way to shorten it, and not stand for something else. For the boys, middle names were family names: Edward, David, and James. For Ella, her middle name is inspired by the U2 song, "Grace" but that is how we felt after a long infertility road and finally being blessed with 4 children! Ella's name is a family name and the boys are names that met my criteria and weren't associated with a less than stellar student from my past...*ahem* so Jack, Sean and Mason made the cut.
So there you go. Thanks for sharing all your amazing creations!!!!

!!! We need to see some pics of your kiddos! Thanks for sharing your name stories.
Since I've never sewn before, do you think it would be best to get a nice little sewing machine used that doesn't have a million features. Someone is selling a 16 stitch singer on craigslist for $50 that normally sells for $100. It's only been used once. Is that a good deal?
That sounds like a pretty good deal to me!
Well I guess that girl thought she was ugly in my clothes!!!! So that mean girl influenced everything and I am glad she is out of that school!!
Lori
It must have broken your heart to read that in her diary! Poor Anastasia. I'm so glad she's happy in her new school. It sounds like you made the right decision.
My niece was getting beat up by a little boy every day at school when she was in 2nd grade. My SIL is deaf and a little slow, so she had a hard time communicating the problem to the principal. So, I called the principal and let her know about the situation. She just said "Kids will be kids." I informed her that my niece had bruises and scrapes on her every day from this boy, and that he was even punching her in the stomach. She just let me know that the teacher can't watch them ALL the time. GRRR!!!! I'm so glad Tessa will be going to a different elementary school. Thankfully, the little boy was transferred to a different class and Casey didn't have to take his abuse anymore.
Oooh, I am so glad she is now in a happier place! A couple of weeks ago my neighbor, who has a daughter in DS8's class told me that another neighbor boy in the class had slugged Seth in the stomach at recess and he was doubled over in pain. I asked Seth about this and he said "oh, yeah, he did. It doesn't hurt anymore". This is a boy who has been picked on a lot, mainly because he has had a significant speech problem (which is much better now, but he still gets picked on). I wrote a note to the teacher and she wrote back "It seems that both of them got a little wild at recess. I talked to both of them about it."So I talked to the neighbor girl again and she said "no, Seth wasn't doing anything, Jase just punched him"
That makes me SO mad! If we can't be there to protect our kids, we rely on the school to do it for us!
Seeing pictures of your kids always makes me smile. They just look so incredibly sweet! They all look so cute in their outfits! It's great to see a picture of you, too!!
Look at that little cutie!! Great job on his pj's. I really like that "10 minute applique"!
Tessa said "I just love Luke's pajamas so much that I can't even look at them. I love Madagascar!"
Adorable! I love that it's reversible and I like the ric-rac!
I'm in major house cleaning mode right now - we might be moving (3rd time in as many years), so I'm dusting crown molding and trying to somehow organize Louie's toys. We have a pepto-bismal pink bathroom that needs to be toned down, so I think I'm going to be doing some sponge painting. I'd love to do a pink and brown toile/preppy theme in there. Funny thing is, I only bother to decorate when we need to sell a house. Otherwise, I just live with ugly - LOL!
Oh - and baby names! I wanted to quickly share where we came up with the name Louie

. My husband's name is Delmar - he is named after his dad. My father's name is Louis. Originally, we were going to name our little guy Delmar Louis. One day, my husband said "you know, my father already has a namesake - let's give your dad one. " So we flipped it, and Louie is Louis Delmar

.

I feel your pain on the moving thing! We move quite a bit, too. Henry builds a house, we live in it for a few years, then we build another one. I'm planning on staying here for a while, though. I never get around to decorating the house how I like it.
Thanks for sharing DS's name story! He has such an original name, very cute!
That is adorable! How do you all does those pretty appliques and embroidery?? Do you have a special machine?
Some people have an embroidery machine that they do the appliques on. Others, like myself, do them by hand. You can do applique on any machine, as long as it has a zig-zag stitch. It just tends to look more perfect on an embroidery machine (I really, really, want one!!).
Hi All...I'm just posting to subscribe to this thread, I don't want to miss anything! LOL. I've been reading Disboards for a long time, but never looked at this thread before...for some reason I thought it was a shopping thread!

But now that I know it is a sewing thread....I'll be reading all the time!!
I love the adorable outfits that you've all been making for your kids (and yourselves). I'm not a huge garment sewer, but I am a heavy duty quilting addict!!
I have an 11 yo DD anda 5 yo DS. When DD was little I made her a few outfits, but I think that now she wouldn't be caught dead in something I could make. I just pointed out a picture I saw with a cute dress made from a tank top and she said "NO WAY". Sigh. Oh well.

I'm not looking forward to the day when Tessa doesn't want me to make her anything! I think the intent of the original disboutique thread was to post pictures of the kids wearing the clothes you'd bought them on ebay. But, us sewers kind of took over!

WHAT EVVVERRRRRRRRRR!
You shouldn't lie to people like that.
I could have friends too, if I wanted to!

I just don't want the trouble!
I'm not sure what you are referring to, as far as lying, but

to you, too!!
I have specified in the past, that Jenny is my best FRIEND. Sisters, moms, and husbands are in a totally different, higher, category.
I also made this for DD today. It is a YCMT pattern. It actually took me 15 minutes to make this.
Your DD looks beautiful in her new outfit! Are you serious that it only took you 15 minutes.

Wow! I'm hoping you aren't including the time it took you to cut the fabric!
Luke looks adorable!!!! I showed Lydia this picture and told her that it was Tessa's Luke. Brian, sitting across the room said, "WHAT? what did you say???" So I told him that Tessa said she is going to marry Luke (she told me that Friday). So, Brian asked Lydia what she thought of it, and I swear Lydia had that look on her face that Luke gets when he sees a picture of Tessa! It was so cute!
So, now Uncle Brian knows all about Luke too!
