Okay, I haven't been on in a while, and I definatally haven't had any time to sew. Im still trying to whipp up something with the nemo book panel I won here.

Since were all family, im going to share some personal obstacles were trying to conqure with my oldest DD.

She is 8. We adopted her at 13 months. Diagnosed as ADHD, high anxiety, Bi-polar, and many underline small things such as sensory, fine gross motor, vistibular, propreoceptive delays, Learning disabled, .... ( god I love her ). Anyway for the last month or so she has thought worms have invaded her body. She thinks they are in her hair, she is litarally pulling her hair out. She has them on her skin and scratches and often scrubbs too hard in the shower. Due to anxiety ab out the "worms" she broke out in hives on both arms and the trunk of her body (front and back), she is trying not to go number 2 because her boo boo has worms in it, and she is scared. She is biting her fingers/nails down till they blead to help the worms out. She also has scratched one of her wrist to a big bloody scab. We have been to the psychologist twice a week, psychiatrist every other week, and we go to a peer group once a week when we have been peeking in on the nurse. We also have visited the family doctor (of course). Her meds were increased 1 1/2 percent. She was percribed a lotion for the hives. We have to change bed sheets every night just so she feels comfortable enough to sleep because she thinks the worms are in her sheets. I put some shampoo in a cough syrup bottle and she thinks it's magic worm killing shampoo. I spray water on the sheets because it's magic spray to kill the worms. We switched to all free and dove white. We also had to go to a plain white dryer sheet. (till the hives are gone). I have been so busy. But the good news, today she told me that the worms havent been around as much. :thumbsup2 What a relief!

Thanks for letting me share. I've been so frusterated, and the time change messes us all up and threw us for a loop. We'll get it together...hopefully soon.

I am soo stressed out!

The reasons I have not been sewing are becasue I have been working soo much and taking care of Georgia and my husband.

I am working close to 75 hours a week. I hardly see my kid. Which is putting a stress on her. I just feel awful. Tonight I told her that I do not have to work tomorrow night, BUT Grandma will be picking her up from school instead of me because I do have to work during the day. She was not happy.

My husband lost his job (he can get it back..) due to medical issues. He is going through Methadone withdrawal! I hate his dr. really i do. He has chronic back pain they gave him methadone nearly two years ago for it. I was so unwilling to have him be on it, as was he. But nothing was working for his pain. So now, he is on week two of COLD TURKEY withdrawals. He is really sick, the shakes, he either sleeps for 23 hours of the day, or he can't sleep at all. He hasn't eaten anything in nearly five days. Tomorrow after the girl scout meeting I am taking him to the ER.

There is a chronic pain program but its doesn't start until the middle of April!! We can't go through this until then. He can't! I have been talking to his mom about him going to stay with her for a bit until he is getting better. I just dont know what to do anymore. Georgia can not see her dad like this anymore. I would rather her miss him when he is at grandma's house, then see him and remember him like this.

So coming here, reading and looking is like a saving grace. I know it sounds silly, but it really is. Its my own little get away other than work.

Wish us luck tomorrow that someone does something for him.

I am so sorry that you are having a difficult time right now. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Here is what I have been working on the past 3 days. CarlaC's A-line top and easy fit pants.

Okay here's a picture of the secret dress I'm working on. It still needs some work. I'm carrying the gold swirls up top and champagne shear ruffle on the sleeves. DD8 doesn't know anything about it yet. Sunday I'm going to let her try it on.

That is beautiful. I wish I could do something like that!

I love these. My DD saw that frog material and loved it, wants a dress out of it. I guess that is the next thing I'll be getting :)

Oh Big Hugs! What a traumatic thing for you right now. I hope she can find some relief quickly, and you too!

Misty and Teresa - Sending you both quick healing and pain relieving pixie dust! pixiedust: pixiedust: And some prayers too!!

Jham - I love that pattern you used for Jayden's Easter dress! I've looked at it a few times, but never realized it would be an easy one. I may have to get that one.

I don't think we have any stores local that carry them (walmart or Joanns, ah, I'm thinking NOT). Is there a best site to order from, either price or service wise? I hate handing a CC number to a company I've never heard of.

Thanks!

No advice, but I wanted to say hello MichelleinMaine! I'm AmyinMaine. Where abouts are you? I'm in central Maine.

I have something for ya.....its called "Secret Keeper Girls" for when Norah gets to be 8 or 9 years old. Its from Focus on the Family and its about teaching your daughter about modesty and how special she is, etc. Its a series of dates you go on...absolutely fabulous.

I would love to know more about this. Sounds like somthing I'd like to do with Megan.

I wanted to post a picture of Deb's (my3princes) handiwork. This is her first two attempts at her shirt for herself that she posted a while back. She donated them to my daughters and they wore them to Tusker House for breakfast last week. The youngest one doesn't like a bare chest so she has a black tank under hers that worked out perfectly.

Disney2008008.jpg

They look great! I'm sure she was frustrated to have to make that top 3 times, but they look terrific on your girls.

That is going to be beautiful!!! :worship:

Ok guys!!! I haven't posted in forever, I mostly lurk and learn. Anyway, I had to comment on the dream thing. I also have the high school dreams. That is so weird. I dream that I'm there and I have no idea of my schedule and can't figure out how to get one, that I can't find my locker anywhere, and if I can find my locker, I don't have a combination and can't get one. I don't have those dreams as often as I used to. I absolutely never "dreamed" that other folks were dreaming the same thing.

You guys are such an inspriration! I absolutely love all the outfits. I had 2 days off, so I am getting caught up on about 15 pages of stuff. I wanted to share some of the outfits I got done while I was off. I think I am improving.

And now for the model. You have to excuse her. She is 9 months old & did not want to cooperate, plus she is teething so her hand pretty much stayed in her mouth.

HOW ADORABLE!!!! She is just tooo cute and I love all of your new creations! This is my favorite, however!!! What pattern did you use? I would love to make one for my little one!

SOOOOOOO cute! the outfits are cute too!

Tessa was very impressed with Emily's ballet skills!! She looks absolutely beautiful!!

Hey did everyone see that Enchanted is coming out on DVD next Tuesday- Yep just in time to get into the easter baskets
I saw that! Maybe Tessa should call her Uncle Brian and let him know it comes out the day before her birthday. :rolleyes1

:welcome:!!! This thread isn't JUST for sewers, so feel free to share more of your painting creations (and even bigger pictures), too! These shirts are really cute! We also want to see what your hubby is creating!

Wow, what a couple of pretty girls!! The shirts look great on them, too.
Yep, Teresa and I were just saying that you haven't been around lately.

Oh my goodness! I have that same dream! How wierd is that! I dream that I am just wandering the halls because I lost the slip of paper that they give you at the start of the year that lists all of the classes and the room numbers. I am always showing up late or going to the wrong classes entirely. I haven't even been in high school for over 12 years... I wonder what that one means?
Wow, I thought Teresa and I were the only ones! Mine also always involves that darn slip with my classes on it, and not being able to find it.

OMGosh! Kaysie and Heather...that's my horrid dream! Totally forgetting where to go next class wise or just forgetting my schedule, or forgetting one class for a whole semester....

And there's the bathtub instead of a desk version

Are we dream sisters?
Ooh, never had the bathtub version, I'm glad of that!! I did once tip my entire desk/chair combo over in class. Unfortunately, that wasn't just a bad dream.:rolleyes1

Please everyone! Wish me luck. Tomorrow at 8am, I take my nursing boards...
I'm a little nervous...but more anxious than nervous...
If you are the praying type...please put in a request for me
I'll let you all know how I make out, tomorrow, but won't have my results until Friday at the earliest!
I'm praying for you Elisa!

Okay, this is what I found... To dream that you are in school, signifies feelings of inadequacy and childhood insecurities that have never been resolved. It may relate to anxieties about performance and abilities. You may also be going through a "spiritual learning" experience. To dream that you are lost, suggests that you have lost your direction in life or that you have lost sight of your goals. You may be feeling worried and insecure about the path you are taking in life. Alternatively, you may be trying to adjust and get accustomed to a new situation in which the rules and conditions are ever changing. To dream that you are wandering, suggests that you are searching and looking for some direction in your life. You are lacking motivation. Alternatively, it represents a transformation.

This site has some interesting things to say about school anxiety dreams. http://ezinearticles.com/?No,-Not-The-High-School-Dream-Again!&id=926203

So, I guess it sounds like we are all unsure about our direction in life
I'm thinking the unresolved childhood insecurities fits me pretty well! The funny thing is, once I planned our 10 year high school reunion, I stopped having this dream as often!

You've got a handsome model there!
I love the jumper, too cute! The fabrics you picked out are great! I want to make a Dora outfit for my "Bestest Friend In The Whole Wide World"'s daughter for her 3rd birthday. Yes, we actually call each other by that title.
We've been friends since we were 2 years old.

Bathtub??? Hmmm, never had that one! I hate the lost in High School one! When I was a freshman, I had all my classes with my friend Becky. In the dream, I usually dream that she is sick and missed school (which she NEVER did!). Since she isn't there to show me where my classes are, I just wander around all day!

I also have the dream that it's the first day of school and I don't know where my class assignment slip is, or where to get another one.

Does anyone ever have the dream where you are flying, and then you go so high up you can't figure out how to get back down again??

I once dreamed that I fell off the Washington Monument. I won't go into detail, but let's say it did NOT end well, and I did NOT wake up!
First of all, it's pretty scary to think of Becky leading you anywhere! :rotfl2:

I can NEVER find the office in order to get another one of those slips!!

Isn't that the dream where, on the way down, you see dad standing there and he just says "What do you want me to do?" :rotfl:

I am soo stressed out!

Oh my goodness!! It sound like you're going through a really rough time right now. I'll be praying for you and your husband.

Georgia looks gorgeous in her new outfit! I think it fits her fine!

That shirt would make a cute little dress, too. There's a great tutorial in the links that shows how to turn an adult button-up shirt into a really cute dress. Here's the link:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=170402.0

That is going to be BEAUTIFUL!!!

I had to jump on the dream bandwagon! I too always dream about being in high school, but my problem is I can't remember my locker combination, so I NEVER have the books I need for class!!!! NUTS!!!!! I am one of those people who dream constantly all night long, so I have lots of weirdo dreams! I just go from one dream to the next all night long! It really makes for a long night!
In my dreams, I just can't find my locker, or I go to my locker from the year before and the new owner gets mad.

Henry is the exact opposite of you. He never remembers his dreams at all!

Nope, I won't excuse your model! She's absolutely adorable and did a great job!! I think my favorite outfit is that 1 piece frog jumper. I didn't know if I liked it until I saw the picture of her with it on. TOOOOO CUTE!!!!! All of them are great!

Since were all family, im going to share some personal obstacles were trying to conqure with my oldest DD.
 I'm sorry you're going through such a tough time with DD. I'm glad she seems to be improving. I'll pray that it continues!

How sweet!! I love it!

I am so very sorry to hear about your troubles. I can't imagine how hard this is for all of you. With work and Georgia and your hubby. I would have had a melt down by now. I understand this thread being your little oasis. :worship: It's mine also. I can come here ask for advise get tips look and cute things and not be judged about anything I have to say. Even when I felt like the worst mom alive two weeks ago.:scared1: I hope everything get's better real soon.
:wizard: Wishing you all the luck possible.

 I'm glad she's getting better. That's just awful for her (and you).

my*2*angels--I used the all-in-one pattern from YCMT. I wasn't thrilled with this until I put it on her. I love it now! I was afraid it would look really weird. I want to make some more of the headbands too, but I have to alter them some more. I still don't have those to the right specs.

That all sounds about right. I'm just amused I'm not alone with the wandering aroung highschool without a clue where to go dreams. I wonder what the bathtub instead of a desk dream means...or maybe I don't want to know that one :rolleyes1

WOW, a lot on your plate. Hugs to you and your DH and dd to make it through this hard time!

OK. do not mind the messy house! haha We just took everything out of the garage and went through it to do somet spring cleaning and ended up messing up the house even more! Specially since I am the only one doing the work!

Here is the "everyday" outfit for Georgia. She FINALLY tried it on for me. The shorts fit her ok. but the top is too big! I can fix it, but still... at least she will have it to grow with right?!

NOW....this shirt I got from my work. We were going through closets today getting ready for a rumage sale. Most would look at this and think OMG who would wear that, right?? well we all did. haha and no body would put the client in it! I saw it and said YIKES! I wouldn't wear it as a shirt........BUT......wouldn't that be cute as a baby outfit?!?! little shorts made from the back of the shirt. and a little halter ruffley type shirt from the front?!?! so that is what I am going to do.

I do not have to work Saturday at all!!! Thank goodness. I Need it BADLY. Georgia has Girl Scout camp for Daisy girls for two hours. then that is it! I might go out with my cousin later in the night for a much needed girls night. That is if I get a grandparent or uncle to wathc the Peach. SO I plan on actually sewing saturday! yay !!
I'm going to put Norah in Daisy Scouts! I look forward to that.

I think that yellow shirt would be cute made into a baby outfit. :cutie:

I spy a little doggy face in one of your pictures....cute!

Love your "Everyday Collection"

You guys are such an inspriration! I absolutely love all the outfits. I had 2 days off, so I am getting caught up on about 15 pages of stuff. I wanted to share some of the outfits I got done while I was off. I think I am improving.

And now for the model. You have to excuse her. She is 9 months old & did not want to cooperate, plus she is teething so her hand pretty much stayed in her mouth.

That is one cute baby!!! Love her new wardrobe! You've been busy!

We're dream sisters!!!!! And I was (am) a hairdresser too (pre-Norah)

my*2*angels--I used the all-in-one pattern from YCMT. I wasn't thrilled with this until I put it on her. I love it now! I was afraid it would look really weird. I want to make some more of the headbands too, but I have to alter them some more. I still don't have those to the right specs.

What size did you make? and what size does she normally wear? I looked at that pattern, but the smallest size was 24mo. My 16mo is tiny! Most of the patterns I have purchased I have wound up making the 6mo size! I bought the wrap skirt pattern, made the size 6mo and it is still huge on her!:confused3

I don't remember what size, I would have to look at the pattern & I don't have it with me. You should be able to alter it pretty easy though. The elastic in the back our can pull as tight as you need & you can cut the pants as short as you need them to be. Your 16 month old must be tiny, because Savannah is 9 months & wears a 12 month size. She is our tiny baby. My 2y/o DS wears a size 4, & not a 4T!

Thank you for the info! Rylie is in a 12month too! So if it fits Savannah it should fit Rylie! Okay, here are some pics of the two dresses I made for Rylie:
I made this using carla's simply sweet pattern:

I was going to add ricrac and bows, but my dh said NO, he liked it as is! Also, the hem is NOT CROOKED, it is just the way she is standing!:)
Here is the easter dress for our easter picnic:

I made this using carla's aline pattern! I love how this came out! Thanks carla for all of your great patterns!

PS- please excuse the clothes pins as I have not yet put the buttons on and they are a little safer than straight pins!;)

I have to jump onto the dream team! I have had that same dream except that it is in college. I dream that I don't have a schedle so I can't find the class. I show up toward the end of the quarter (finally) for a test and of course I am totally unprepared for it since I haven't done any work! I haven't had this dream in a while so maybe I'm settled (for now)...

Those are really cute! It's hard to find cute dresses for 12month size. I have had to alter alot of them, but it is getting easier. Plus, thanks to this thread, I have found the YCMT site & they are great! Much cheaper & easier than buying a pattern. I can print off new ones whenever I need them. Plus they are sturdier.

Thank you and I totally agree on you with the ycmt patterns! I have found that the 6 month size seems to fit her really well! I used the 6m size for the simply sweet pattern and it fits really well! I did use the 12m size on the aline, just because it fits snugger than the other patterns! I am trying to decide whether or not to buy that romper pattern!:confused3 I am afraid my dh is going to put a lock down on me because I have bought 3 patterns in the past few days!:scared1: Oh well, maybe I can sneak in another one!;)
