She is 8. We adopted her at 13 months. Diagnosed as ADHD, high anxiety, Bi-polar, and many underline small things such as sensory, fine gross motor, vistibular, propreoceptive delays, Learning disabled, .... ( god I love her ).

Oh Michelle... our 5 year old DD (adopted at 15 mos) was recently diagnosed high anxiety and OCD. Luckily the Zoloft is working wonders. Parenting her has gone from being hard to just being challenging. Soon she'll be mature enough to participate in cognitive therapy and hopefully that will help even more.

I hope the worms go away SOON!! You're a great mama!

Oh my, she is going to flip out! That is gorgeous: I can't wait to see it on.

Your daughter is just precious and I love all the outfits, especially the froggy ones! My daughter's preschool class was the frogs and we were looking for frog stuff all over. I love the halter-all, it's so cute on!

Since were all family, im going to share some personal obstacles were trying to conqure with my oldest DD.

You are such a great mom to be so patient with her. I hope things continue to get better.

Love! :lovestruc I love that it's reversible too. So cute!

Beautiful dresses! I love the bunny, so cute! The clothes pins are cracking me up!

What about one of those super cute serger ruffles? And then ric rac in the middle of that? That would be so cute. Norah is looking mighty grown up, you will have to find a place for to wear her "not for everyday" dress. Those fabrics are gorgeous and your invention is ingenious. I wish we had a Hobby Lobby around here.

Ohh, I almost forgot. My recurring dream: I just had it last night in fact. I am driving in the car and I step on the brakes and nothing! Then I usually slide off the bridge or embankment or whatever. Usually a bridge and into the ocean. I have to try my hardest to wake up before we hit the water so I don't have to worry will I get the window down, seat belts unbuckled and everyone out of the car before we all drown. I wish I knew of a way to make it stop!

The stripwork jumper looks great. That is one of my favorite pattern!! Can't wait to see what you make out of all those fabric.

I LOVE YOUR PATTERNS CARLA!!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T MADE ANYTHING WITH HER PATTERNs, BUY THEM THEY ARE THE BEST!!!!!!! and she is not paying me to say that!:rotfl: I just think they are sooo easy and the results are fantastic! Hope everyone is having a wonderful night and HAPPY SEWING! I hope to have some pics to share tomorrow!:goodvibes

I totally agree! I have quite a few of her patterns and love them all. I just bought her newest one.

Please everyone! Wish me luck. Tomorrow at 8am, I take my nursing boards...
I'm a little nervous...but more anxious than nervous...
If you are the praying type...please put in a request for me :)
I'll let you all know how I make out, tomorrow, but won't have my results until Friday at the earliest!:scared1:

A little late, but wanted to wish you good luck anyways!

Okay here's a picture of the secret dress I'm working on. It still needs some work. I'm carrying the gold swirls up top and champagne shear ruffle on the sleeves. DD8 doesn't know anything about it yet. Sunday I'm going to let her try it on.

th_IMG_0222.jpg

That is beautiful! Your dd is going to love it. What a nice surprise.

Cute outfit and your model is adorable! I love the minnie dot, black and yellow combo!

Thank you for the info! Rylie is in a 12month too! So if it fits Savannah it should fit Rylie! Okay, here are some pics of the two dresses I made for Rylie:
I made this using carla's simply sweet pattern:

Love the Easter dress - very cute, so is your dd.

PrincessKell - hope things get better for you!

Hey everyone! I am fairly new to the DISboards. My name is Danielle, I'll be 23 next month. My husband is in the army and is currently deployed. I have a 19 month old little girl named Violette Bleu and we live in Fayetteville NC. We are planning our trip to disneyworld for Sept when my husband comes home for his R&R. I love boutique clothes and have been making tutu dresses for my daughter Violette. That's the only thing I know how to make. I don't know how to use a sewing machine but really want to learn. I want to make Violette some cute little sundresses and outfits for the trip. Can't wait to chat with you ladies. You seem like a fun group!

Welcome! We will be happy to cheer you on in any sewing endeavor! :cheer2:

Could you post pictures of the tutus please? They sound really adorable. I have never attempted one because they looked hard to do.

Ok, these outfits are adorable, But your daughter is GORGEOUS! I am usually biased because I have a baby girl of my own, but I literally lost my breath when I saw your dd. She is just beautiful!

Thank you! That is very sweet. We think so too.;)

I love everything that has been posted today. I made a new uniform dress for DD to wear to school. She likes it, but I'm not too sure that I like it. When she gets home I will post pictures of her wearing it. It is a dress that she came up with herself. She said a little girl was wearing a dress like it. Well I'll let you guys be the judge of it later today.

Hi and :welcome: You'll have fun here!!

Thanks for the postive comments on the dress guys. The little pinches were done by literally pinching the fabric and sewing the pinches in place. My SIL's wedding gown had this, and she wanted Zofia's dress to match. It was fun trying to figure it out.

:welcome: Hi and Pictures Please :surfweb:
Check out the first post for great info and our introduction.

I made the fully lined, reversible version of the Butterick 5019 pattern (altered)
This is some of the Hobby Lobby fabric I've been  about!

Now, here's where y'all can help me. I want to do something crazy and fun at the hem like hand-washable pom pom fringe. What do you think? I ran out of the darker print to do her pants with so I need to go back to HL soon!!

So far the bottom hem is just overcast stitched so it wont unravel. I'm thinking FUN trim because this is not from my "Everyday Collection". I love it so much I don't want her to wipe her boogers on it or get any food on it. WHY am I like this? :sad2: I'll have to think of a great occasion for which she can wear it!

here's my "invention". The patten calls for a little button in strap to hold thefront tight, I didn't like if very much so I made a little elastic strip instead!

That is beautiful! I LOVE that fabric and nice job combining it all.

WELCOME!

Quick technical question: When you ladies reply, how do you reduce the size of the photos in the reply?? As a reader of this post - I really appreciate how you do that!!!

Edited to add: DOH! I should have read the first post for directions. Thank you thank you!
How to make thumbnail pictures in your reply by HeatherSue:
When you click reply, the name of the picture will look something like this, but in [ _] brackets
{IMG}http://1234.photobucket.com/albums/1234/nameofthepicture.jpg{/IMG}
To make it a thumbnail, put th_ before the name of the picture, such as this:
{IMG}http://1234.photobucket.com/albums/1234/th_nameofthepicture.jpg{/IMG}
This only works for pictures that were uploaded to photobucket.

I have some aqua ric-rac on top of the jumper, so tying that in down below would create a nice balance. At first, I was thinking the raspberry color for whatever I do, but it wouldn't work with the aqua ric rac. And the flarry crop pants are going to be in the raspberry print so trim in the same color wouldn't contrast enough. I want it to be sort of funky (but hand-washable). I should do some mock-ups and see which looks the best.

I'm not sure what a serger ruffle is. Is it having the bottom of the single layer ruffle serged (or in my case overcasst?) or is it that rouching (sp) or double sided ruffle?

Hey, I have a five year old Megan! If the photo is from photobucket, you can type in "th_" right before the name. Complete directions are on the first post of this thread. HTH!

Well, I don't know if that's the real name or not. That ruffle that is overcast on the top and bottom and gathered in the middle. Mytwotinks did a cute version in her shirred outfit.

I think that will take you to it, I couldn't find it on photobucket yet (poor Teresa!).

I'm not sure what color though. You don't think the raspberry would look good with the aqua ric rac? I think it would be cute. Good luck!

PS- please excuse the clothes pins as I have not yet put the buttons on and they are a little safer than straight pins!;)[/QUOTE]
What a good idea!

And now for the model. You have to excuse her. She is 9 months old & did not want to cooperate, plus she is teething so her hand pretty much stayed in her mouth.

If you wanna come over and bring your strip of fabric, I will help you make a ruching strip like mytwotinks did (and I put on my easter dresses) It is easy with the serger. :thumbsup2 I like it with the ricrac in the middle!

She is SO CUTE!! You guys are talking me into the ebooks I don't have any yet but have been drooling at ycmt Thanks a lot guys ;) :lmao:
Thank you! Those patterns are ADDICTING!!! They are sooooo much better than store bought IMO!

Everything is so cute. Especially your baby! I actually like the "simply sweet" dress plain too. I think the ties at the shoulders add a lot to it.

Thank you!!! I actually like it plain now too! That hubby of mine sometimes actually knows what he is talking about!:confused3

i love the easter bunny how cute, and i love the clothespins what a smart idea.
