Been a while since I have actually posted, so I'll jump back in with the name story.
First off my father wanted to name me Mayapple! No idea where that came from, thankfully my mother said no and Jessica it is. I was supposed to be Joel and they thought I was a boy for the longest time.
As for Dallas, I wanted a uniqe name but not too different. I really liked places (cities or states) for names so started looking there. I had Jackson (which DH said NO way!), Dakota (people thought was too girly, Dakota Fanning had more or less hit it big around then but never even put the two together when I wanted to name him that), Montana (people thought to far out) and then there was Houston and Austin but WAY too common. Oh, Cleveland and Grant too, Grant conflicts with our last name so DH vetoed and he didn't like Cleveland either, which I am not sure if I ever did enough to name a child it. So I decided one day that Dallas was perfect. At the time I hadn't known any. While in labor and the week before I heard of 3 different ones, 2 being girls and the other an african american rap artist, I started to doubt myself! But stuck with it. DH also loves the Dallas Cowboys so fit well, but had nothing to do with the name. His middle name is Edmundson, after my DH's mother, that was a family name. I figured if he hated his name he could go with Edmund.
Had he been born on christmas though (was born 2 days after) I would have named him Nicholas Parker, I loved the way it sounded together, and loved the movie the Parent Trap (still do, both versions) but that was actually Dennis Quaid's name in the movie. Nicholas, christmas, St Nick.
