I love this outfit!!!!! I bought the pettiskirt pattern from YCMT and I tried it out with some tulle. I just have the fluff to put on the bottom yet. I don't know if I care for it. It used a TON of tulle but it's still "see through" so I'd have to have her wear leggings underneath it. I don't know if I didn't do it right or what. :confused3 My middle layer is 4 widths of fabric and my bottom layer is 10 widths of fabric. Then there are two skirt layers. I dunno. Maybe I need to try different fabric?? Please let me know if you have any tips or tricks. :) I'll post a pic when I get the fluff on

I didn't make the petti, sorry. It isn't made of tulle, it is made of a type of chiffon (nylon, I think). This fabric is very sheer, but with so much of it, you can't see through it. It is A LOT of fabric!

I think it depends on the color too. Drew's is a turquoise color and She needs to wear footless tights with hers. I have also never seen a pink or white that you can't see through.

I can't wait to see your picture! I have considered trying these to list with some outfits.

Hey guys! WOW have I missed alot! I have been spending some time with my family and trying to keep my house clean, so computer time has been non existent(sp?). I have been working on some things, but not much. I wanted to post a pic of my DD4 wearing the shirt that 2cutekidz made for her, so here it is:

Awww...It looks great on her! I'm glad she liked it! I love those flipflops. Whaere did you get the button?

Lori, I saw some at the Joann's in Ahwatukee on Ray this past weekend. They had 2 bolts. I know its far to drive for you but at least its in town! Call and check it out. It was the I-10 and Ray location! Good Luck

Shawna

i'm calling now..... no one is answering!! AAACCCKKKK

See, your daughter knew what she was doing!!! That turned out really cute!!! I will have to show Lydia, she loves Buzz too! You should send some pictures of it to put up on YCMT, we could have all sorts of famous models on here!

I would love that! But, I doubt Lyddy would fit. What are the measurements though?

If you check YCMT, you'll notice my little princess there too!;) (A line tops and dresses section!)

O.K. the measurements are:

Across the narrowest part of the chest (right under the arm pit:goodvibes ) 24 inches.

The length from shoulder to hem is: Approx. 20 inches!

I will make the pants to the winners specs!:thumbsup2

Hope this helps!

I think I will have Leighanna pick the winner tomorrow. It will give some of the busy bee sewers time to check in. I know I hate it when I just "miss" the giveaway!:yay:

Thank you! I made the button! I have an embroidery machine, so I just embroidered a small letter on some fabric and then used the button kits that you can get at Joann's. It was a very easy and quick project! I will definitely be making more!

I'm sure this has been asked before, but....is there a pattern you use to make the top and pants? I think that's precious!:lovestruc

Ok I finally finished DD's Peep's Easter Dress.
S2010075.jpg

I used one of my vintage patterns for this one. I think it turned out really great.

This is my best tip for anyone who hates putting button holes on a shirt or dress: Buy a set of snap pliers (I think that is what it is called). They cost about $8. They make it so easy to avoid doing buttons and they also do eyelets.

Very cute. I didn't like that fabric when I saw it in the store, but it makes a really cute dress.

This is the picture of the pattern. It's a New Look #6613. It was actually recommended by a fellow Disboutiquer.

Do you know how many times I have had that pattern in my hand and then put it back at the last minute? AGH! I'm so excited to see that it turns out so much cuter than the picture!!! I guess they usually do, huh? THANKS so much for getting back to me on those cute dresses! You rock!!! :cool1:

SOOO cute! LOVE the PEEPS! oooooh, going to get started again on all the yummy Easter/holiday candy again! agh!
K, seriously, I am ready to go buy the snap pliers right now...are they really, truly, you aren't kidding, easy?

Okay Buzz Lightyear fans here it is - the green Buzz Lightyear petal skirt!!

Here's a spinning shot.

Sorry the pictures are so big. It's a pretty full skirt and it was fun to make because I was able to pull some old blue fabric I had to use under the petals. I think I have to redo the tulle because it's not as dramatic as dd5 wants it to be.

Well one project down...now I'm off to the blue butterfly shorts.

Okay, I LOVE Buzz Lightyear! That is absolutely adorable! CUTE CUTE CUTE!!!
:thumbsup2

Thanks! It was super easy. The pattern is Simplicity #3577. I bought some more fabric to make another one for him. I will not pass along your comment about the hair because it drives me crazy! :rotfl:

I"ll have to post a pic of my ds10 from my wedding...he was 8 at the time and was often mistaken for his sister...ahem...if he hadn't been wearing a tux, I think most people would've thought he was a bridesmaid. TRUST ME, I understand about the hair thing!!!

SOOO CUTE! I LOVE that heart fabric!
Okay, those flip flops are ADORABLE! I want some for ME!!!! Super cute!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: on the weightloss!!!

OHHH! And, btw, I just placed an order for Bare Minerals! You guys convinced me! I'm excited to try...I've wanted to for a long time!

I'm sure this has been asked before, but....is there a pattern you use to make the top and pants? I think that's precious!:lovestruc[/QUOTE]

Thanks so much! I did use patterns...the top is the halter top from YCMT, and the pants are the Growing Up With Rosie Gauchos, also from YCMT...I did modify the halter pattern a bit, I didn't use the 2nd row of elastic for my top (you'll get what I mean if you look at the pattern)...
Can I just say, one more time, how easy these pieces are? Those pants can be made at just about any length and use with a ruffle or just a contrasting fabric like I did. You will  making these! They fit so stinking cute too!

HEY! I used to live in Ahwatukee!! I went to high school there! haha I bet its a LOT bigger now.

Princess Kell - WOO HOO on getting the pants figured out! Georgia looks great in the outfit!. The outfit reminded me - Have you seen the Elvis hawaiian print fabric at WalMart? I bet she'd die for an outfit from that!

Actually yes we have. hehe we have two skirts in it! I might have to pick some more up to make a dress and carpi outfit for her. She loves it!

eeyore3847now that i have your attention, hahaha

I just called and they didnt have it. She said the only thing they have is white polka dots on "lipstick" fabric but doesn't say how big the dots are. Its online too. That was about it.

I am going to call the other store that is a little farther out right now

thank you everyone for looking. I am finding this a hard search.
thank you everyone for searching! well find it I know it!
Lori

Ok I'm all done with lunch. Here are the pictures I promised.

This is what the pliers look like:
DSC00012.jpg

All you have to do is load one half of the snap in one side and the back on the other side of the pliers. Each side of the pliers has a rubber piece that holds the snap pieces in place. Then all you have to do is squeeze the fabric between the pliers and you have a snap.
DSC00013.jpg

You have to do the same thing for the other half of the snap on the other side of the fabric. (Hope that makes since)
You do pretty much the same thing for the eyelets except you have to turn the yellow piece around and you have to make a small hole in the fabric so the eyelet piece will fit in the hole. Then just squeeze. It doesn't take much force.
DSC00015.jpg

DSC00016.jpg

It took me about two minutes to do the snap and the eyelet.
