I promised Leighanna I would make this for her birthday. I guess better late than never!

OMG - that is too cute!! I have already been thinking about Megan's 1st birthday (it's ok - you can join my DH in rolling your eyes since it is still 10 months away) and I think I want to do a cupcake theme so I can make her a cute little outfit with a cupcake on it. I saw a really cute cupcake outfit with a little dress and bloomers (diaper cover) made for a 1st birthday - I hope to be able to create something similar.

I just have a quick announcement, bare with me:

"Right Sides Together!!!!!!"

Especially if you are stitching with a teeny, close together stitch and have a dull seam ripper, and are seriously lacking caffeine, and who's kids are running amuk. And you have to eat Progresso soup for dinner since it's weigh-day tomorrow and you don't want to show a gain, again. popcorn:: Hypothetically.

I haven't tried the Progresso soups but people at my WW meeting mentioned that they don't eat them the day before a weigh-in becuase they are high in sodium... I know everyone reacts differently to sodium, but I thought I'd mention it becuase I know I would be too blinded by the low points to even consider the sodium content.

The cord tie back on your curtain looks like a braid sticking out of Leighanna's hair being held by someone off camera. :lovestruc
Great, I'm betting Norah will pose like her next time!

And, I love how well everything you make is so neatly pressed. I do that now because of you (thanks). What do you use? I use Heavy Starch, since it's what I have for "church shirts."

Oh, I have SO been there! I love it when it is a ruffle that I've sewn on with a right side facing a wrong....:scared1: And I thought the same thing about the "braid" in Leighanna's hair! Tom that outfit with the cupcake is GORGEOUS! Love the color and the cupcake and everything!

Here's Tessa's Mary Poppins dress that I "whipped up" yesterday.

This is one of my favorite pictures of her, ever! Doing the "Megan":

Heather...that is BEAUTIFUl!!!!! She looks gorgeous in it of course!!! Way to go...I just have one question though...how in the heck did you just "whip" that up??? Hmmm??? :confused3

Just checking in quickly to say I LOVE it all! I have been trying to get more done and stay away from the computer lately! I miss you guys though!
We've missed you too Jessica!

And as per our weight loss agreement, I am happy to report that I lost 2lbs this week!   I am very excited! So how is everyone else doing with their weight loss??????

All right!!! Great job!!!!!

If you check YCMT, you'll notice my little princess there too!;) (A line tops and dresses section!)

O.K. the measurements are:

Across the narrowest part of the chest (right under the arm pit:goodvibes ) 24 inches.

The length from shoulder to hem is: Approx. 20 inches!

I will make the pants to the winners specs!:thumbsup2

Hope this helps!

I think I will have Leighanna pick the winner tomorrow. It will give some of the busy bee sewers time to check in. I know I hate it when I just "miss" the giveaway!:yay:

Too small for Lyddy, poohey! I must go look for your little model now!

I lost 1.5 pounds this week, for a total of 8 lbs!!!Thank you for the input! I am so tempted to buy some!
Way to go Heather!!!!!!
Teresa, do we have a Sephora or Ulta around here?
I think the closest Sephora is in Mishawaka. When I went there the other week, I think I saw one. as I skipped merrrily on by to go the Disney Store :lovestruc

Girls you will be so proud of me!! I made another pair of pants today! These are for my friends baby. They are a Dora house (not so much Disney..I might have to change that! haha) So I found this fabric I was going to make pot holders for Georgia's play kitchen but she said she didn't want Dora anymore. So I was like OOOOH I can make baby pants!

I haven't put the elestic in the waist just yet. I might put lace on the bottom not sure yet. or a ruffle of sorts. in hot pink to match.

th_Dorababypants001.jpg

They seem so big. but I followed the pattern to a T this time. Oh well. I Just hope that Georgia doesnt see them and want them for her Hannah Bunny from Build a bear.
Good job!!! They turned out adorable!

It looks good to me. Very cute!

There is a pattern in Teresa's bookmarks that teaches you how to do one for just about anyone. I make peasant tops all the time for me to wear with my renaissance garb.I hope that's not confusing. I'll look around to see if I've got one started, otherwise, not this week but next I have to make myself a new one anyway for the Pirate and Princess Party we'll be attending in June. I'm so not missing a chance to be dressed like a pirate and get my picture taken with Cap'n Jack (should speak volumes, I'm camera shy) not to mention Pirate Mickey!
Thanks for the directions!

Okay, weight loss ladies, I bit the bullet and joined Weight Watchers today. I haven't been on the program in years, they were just starting to talk about activity points and there was no core program when I was going the last time. I'm not surprised by my start weight, it's not my highest, I've still managed to keep off about 16 pounds out of the 21 I lost last year, so I'm pleased that I haven't eaten myself to a new highest weight. I'm still reading all the information and I actually think that even without being prepared today I'll be able to start within my range. I was planning on really officially starting on Sunday so that I have time to get some groceries in here.

Yeah for you!! Good luck! Are you doing the Core or Flex?

SOOOOO SWEET!!! That is just adorable!!!
I have a daycare girl who loves Dora so I got some of that fabric to whip her up something..
That is such a sweet thing to do!!! You sound like you are such a wonderful daycare provider!!![/QUOTE]

Here's what I did today!   You all have gotten so much done! I am envious. Everything looks great! Hopefully I will be better and back to sewing tomorrow, but the kids have the day off from school so it will be interesting. I finally got my easter dress fabric today. Sorry I've not been commenting, but as Luke would say, my head feels like it is going to "consplode". Love everything though. Can't wait to show Luke Mary Poppins ;) Well, I'm off to bed, hopefully. The kids have been playing hide and go seek and are all wired. DH is out of town. Wish me luck! :rotfl:
I hope you get feeling better soon!
A little can of pixie dust dressed up in a blue can!
That made me laugh so hard!!!! :rotfl2:

I was at walmart tonight and saw this and with talk of the minnie dot search going on when I saw it it reminded me of others talking about having trouble finding HSM fabric. So I picked this up- it was on clearance for $20 bucks if no one wants it I will return it as I really don't have much use for HSM fabric or bed sheets.:lmao: It was originally $33.96 so I thought it was a good deal. "It" is a full size sheet set with 2 pillow cases. Anyway here are the pictures:

LOVELY and GORGEOUS!!!! I love that first picture of Tessa too!!! Tessa looks so beautiful in it!!! I just love the way you took the peasant dress and modified it!

Now, she just needs a hat!

I lost 1/4 pound this week!

Which, while it doesn't sound great, I'm pretty pleased with!!! I was NOT careful. It was just one of those weeks where you want to eat EVERYTHING! And, I was not very good at resisting that urge!! So, any loss was more than I was expecting!

I am cleaning my machine right now but wanted to tell Heather that mary poppins looks beautiful!!!:lovestruc And say that not Everyone was unsupportive, just the ones who don't really get a vote. J/K I did have some really great supports.
-And-
Tom- Leighanna looks as beautiful as ever!! :cutie: I love her hair tie backs!! :lmao:
-And-
Princesskell the baby pants look cute- the ricky rack would look cute on the bottom
-And-
Steph that the tshirt dress is cute too!!

I got some projects finished today and I am hoping to finish the Dora Jumper- yeah I know I said that before but I bought some more bobbins :yay: :yay: :yay: and already got the brown all wound and ready to go!!!!! :woohoo: Alright time to get to it- or maybe not the baby is not wanting to sleep :headache:

Sorry to hear the baby won't sleep. I used to hate that when DD wouldn't sleep at night. I finally had time tonight to get one of my many to do's done. I finished a cute cheerleader style skirt/shorts for DD. I'll post pics tomorrow when I'm not tired.

Yep she's still going- I'm sure by the time she gets to sleep I will be so :faint: But right now she is still :hyper:
I think her teeth are bothering her but none of the regular stuff is not helping she is just not relaxing and getting sleepy. :sad2:

OH that is darling! She looks so sweet!!

love it! love the "K" hehe wonder why?!

I think some hot pink rac rac around each leg would be soooo cute for a baby. You should embellish a matching onesie too (aren't I a help, giving you more work?).

I was thinking hotpink ric rac too. hehe I have some from my scrapbooking stash! Oh yes, I actually was going to head to walmart tomorrow before work to pick up some onesies and oh I dont know maybe some fabric. hehe shhh don't tell dh.

woooohoooo YAYAYAYAYAY I just scored a bargain auction win on a sewing cabinet - no more dining table for me. I can actually have a place to sew - now it's not a sewing room unfortunately but I've graduated from the dining table at least. DH is going to be pleased no more eating amongst my fabric and finding bits of thread in his dinner :)

Sorry just a wee bit excited

I like this - though I must say I do have a soft spot for cakey goodness (darn losing weight makes me obsessive :rolleyes1 )

I'm not weighing myself this week as I know that I will gain (I always gain this time of month :rolleyes1 ) but I have been to gym (well i did go once) and we have been on an "expedition" involving lots of walking and today I managed Pilates (izzy joined in too she thought it was hilarious and asked to do more eckerscissors - translation exercises) and I bounced on the trampoline a couple of times (not a pretty site :yay: <=me on the trampoline)
and I've been eating better - could still improve but it's been too hot to cook so we've had salads and grilled meat on the barbeque.

Here's the Cinderella dress that I made for my dd...she said this one doesn't twirl as much! LOL

That is stunningggggg!!! And that picture of your daughter is absolutely portrait material!!! She is sooooooooooo prettyyyyyyyyyyy.

All of the children here look so happy with there originals. I think it really shows them how much you all care about them.
GAH!!!

Of COURSE the shorts are JUST too small on S....of COURSE!! I missed by a freaking inch. GAH! I need to tear them apart, and remake the shorts. I'll just reattach the pocket to the new shorts.

And the dress sleeves don't fit B too great, and the whole dress only JUST fits, so I'm probably going to have to make it again for her. BUT does that mean she'll take the %$& dress OFF so I can sell it in pristine condition? NOOOOO, Of course NOT.

th_DSCN0796.jpg

th_DSCN0794.jpg
Awww, I can see you are disappointed in how the dress turned out because of fit. But you still did a great job.......you can tell because your dd looks sooooo happy in it! Also, love how you matched up the dumbo boy outfit with it. If onlyyyyyy I could have done something like that when my son was smaller. Oh well, I will just have to watch you all dress theses boys soooo sweetly!! :goodvibes

I love how you match the dresses for the dolls to your daughters. Wonderful work.

Can you believe that I sewed something **** backwards today too? Must be sumptin' in the air!

I tend to use Leighanna's hair braids as tie backs, thank you very much!

At least I don't use her hair as a decorative trim for her outfits!:scared1:
As Tim G. from PR says, "You've got my gag reflex going!"
(This for all my Project Runway peeps!)

Oh, and the magic to a wonderfully pressed garment? Magic sizing! Yes, that stuff is magic! A little can of pixie dust dressed up in a blue can! Should be marketed by Disney I tell 'ya!

Hey Tom--- Make it Work! :rotfl:

SOOO cute! I made dolly outfits today too...like 7 or 8...AGH! Jham and I are making matching dolly outfits w/our boutique outfits...holy cow! They're coming along though, whewwwwwww!!!

So you are making them to match the little aline boutique outfits you showed us earlier? That is cool!

I was thinking hotpink ric rac too. hehe I have some from my scrapbooking stash! Oh yes, I actually was going to head to walmart tomorrow before work to pick up some onesies and oh I dont know maybe some fabric. hehe shhh don't tell dh.

Don't worry, we won't tell! :confused3

I love how you match the dresses for the dolls to your daughters. Wonderful work.

Thank you so much! I really enjoy making the doll clothes.

Today I am going to get the serger out of the box. Wish me luck!

So MIL gives the girls Easter socks last night, cute no problem. Then DD5 looks up at me and says 'You ARE going to make Easter outfits for us, right? Cause I want a skirt.' Great! Add another two items onto my list that I had finally wittled down. Now I have to go to Joanne's and Walmart to check out the Easter fabric. I so thought I was going to get through a holiday without having to make something.

It's no big deal, it's just that we leave for Disney in April and I haven't packed a stitch of clothing and I'm kind of freaking out. Plus DD5 has asked to move to her room, which is the playroom an it's taken every free second to clean the darn room in order to 'think' about where we're going to put all those toys.

I'm complaining, actually I was kind of proud that she wanted me to make her something and didn't say let's run to Ltd too and send $200 on an outfit tht I'll never wear again - NOT! That made me feel good. It was like 'I'll take a Mom's special for Easter!'

attention minnie dot wanna be owners

I bought 5 yrd of it last yr. I am willing to part with 2 yards of it in exchange for pink minnie dot fabric. Anyone up for the taking?
