Disbounding/Outfit Planning/Totally Disney'nerding OUT!

welcome
Does this link work?

If not, here is a direct link. :) Last March- Snow White!

My DD14, DD12, and I just recently learned about Disneybounding too. We are totally obsessed with doing this for our June trip. Luckily we have quite a few thing already in our wardrobe that we can use to Disneybound with, but I am slowly buying items that we will need too (mainly accessories). My girls and I are having a blast planning and preparing the outfits. We told DH about it and he is on board with Disneybounding too (which I am surprised by), so to date this is what we have planned for each of my family members....

Family Day 1: Disneybounding characters from Peter Pan
1) Myself - Peter Pan...already had the perfect top for it, just need to get some green or brown shorts and something that has to do with an arrow as an accessory (i.e. earrings and/or necklace)
2) DH - Captain Hook...need to get him a red button up and some sort of white Tee to put under it
3) DD14 - Mr. Smee....went to Goodwill and picked up the perfect blue and white striped T-shirt and she bought a red beanie to wear on her head from Clair's
4) DD12 - Wendy...she already has a blue top and blue shorts to wear, she wants to find some sort of bow for her hair.

Family Day 2: Dapper Dans
- DH - Blue Dapper Dan...blue checkerd button up top with khaki shorts
- Myself - Green Dapper Dan...green tank top with tan shorts
- DD14 - Yellow Dapper Dan...yellow tank top with white shorts
- DD12 - Purple Dapper Dan...purple tank top with white shorts
I need to find something for all of us to wear on our heads that would reflect the Dapper's hats...still trying to figure that one out.

DD14 Disneybounding ideas:
- Swedish Chef from the Muppets....she got a cute blue and white button up shirt with a ruffle on it from Goodwill, she is putting a white tank top under it and then tying the bottom of the shirt. She will wear a white fedora hat and she needs blue shorts to complete the outfit.
- Donald Duck..white shorts, blue top, yellow something for her head with red bow jewelry.
- Mary Poppins...white lacy top, navy blue shorts or skirt, and red belt to tie it together.

DD12 Disneybounding ideas:
- Judy Hopps...Blue v-neck t shirt with blue shorts and she got a "Junior Zootopia Officer Badge" from our local Disney store.
- Dumbo....Grey skater dress that she will be wearing black stretchy shorts underneath for the parks, a pink belt, need to find a yellow headband for her hair and she has a necklace that has a feather that she will wear as well (she has a pair of Dumbo earrings that she wants to wear too).
- Filmore from Cars...Mint green tank top, jean shorts, peace earrings and necklace, and I found a brown fringed vest (looks very 70'sish) to put over her tank top.

DH's Disneybounding ideas:
-
Nick Wilde from Zootopia...hawaiian shirt, brown shorts, and a "Junior Zootopia Officer Badge" that I got from our local Disney Store (I got 2)
- Steve Rogers aka Captain America....khaki green button up shirt and brown pants

My Disneybounding ideas:
- Agent Peggy Carter...navy blue shorts, navy blue shirt with a red belt. I also found the perfect hat that looks just like the one that Peggy wore in the very first episode at Clair's.
- Daisy Duck....lilac purple tank top with white shorts and a bow in my hair

I should probably start putting my Disneybound ideas into the atmosphere, since time is running out. I constantly forget that I want to do it for some reason!

@PoohsFan1 ... I LOVE your ideas too! So cute! I love the zootopia ones! We thought that movie was so cute! :lovestruc

What fun it is on family days!

SO happy I am not the only major planner! :cool2:

Here's my BFF and I Disneybounding as Anna and Snow White during our December 2014 trip. We had a blast and had more than a few cast members address us by our "Princess" names as we were boarding rides and things.

Disneybounding is a really great way to be creative and adds a little extra layer of fun (for me at least) while in the park. Have a great time with it, your outfits all sound really cute!

Here is a link to some photos... But not your average visit the park clothes, but more dressed up and probably back to how it was when the park opened in the 1950's.. you saw people wearing dresses to the park. I think this happens more at DL because of the locals and it looks great.

I honestly think that is what is going to appeal to my DD - she is a big Walt fan - read books about him - biographies etc. She loves old pictures of Disneyland - how it was when it opened - and I think the idea of dressing up to honor that time, the idea of wearing a dress to the park - I mean that's unheard of today - I think that will really appeal to her, even though she'd never be caught dead wearing one on a normal day. I know that dressing Dapper won't bring back the old park - it'll still be crazy busy with Starbucks on the corner and Star Wars in Tomorrowland - but it'll be something different that I hope we can all enjoy. Mind you I am NOT wearing heals!

Our youngest DD tends to trend young, and we're working on getting her to act "older." She's totally fallen in love with disneybounding :) She loves that she can "dress up" and people "get" who she's emulating without being in a costume that a 5yo would be wearing. At her last trip, she was very basic Tiana (green shorts, yellow and white layered tanks, with a Tiana ribbon barrette) and Ariel (green pants, red tank under a purple tank, Ariel ribbon barrette). She's already planning her outfits for her trip in 2017, and I'm trying to find some cute accessories for her this time, as well as planning some of my own. Now if we can only get DH involved as anyone beyond Hiro (khaki shorts, red shirt), LOL!

This upcoming trip, I'm going for Mrs. Nesbet (Buzz, with a flower hat, and a pin that's a apron), Eric (to match DD), maybe Joy. I'm trying to find some super-comfy yellow shoes so that I can do Minnie and Mickey a little better.

Edited to add: I'm planning on disneybounding when we take our grandsons as well. Figured they love dressing up, and they're kind of "grandma's boys," so it would be cute to be coordinated with them.

I did Jane, Snow white and Pink dress Cinderella. For Pink dress Cinderella I had on white shorts, a pink t-shirt and blue bead necklace. Anastasia and Drusella did storm right up to me and demand to know where I got the beads. :) That made me pretty happy.

My favourite though was the way my daughter was treated. She has cerebral palsy. She was 1.5 when we went last time and wasn't walking, talking, or using her hands at all, so she spent most of the time in the ergo carrier and the stroller. All day people kept calling her cinderella, and I couldn't figure out why. Cast members kept saying "here you go, little Cinderella…." whenever they gave her anything. When we got back to the hotel room that night I realized she'd been missing a shoe all day :) So cute!

Oooh, I love dapper. Our Minnie day is definitely more "dapper".. Girls in dresses, son in bow tie.

Cannot wait!

I saw a darling couple dressed very subtly as Carl and Ellie from "Up." They were thrilled I recognized them. I wish I'd taken a photo, it was very clever.

Friends of mine who live out in CA always do Dapper Day. I'm beyond jealous of them when they go, love love love seeing their photos.

Over the weekend I decided to add "Filmore" from Cars (Hippie VW bus) to my list of Disbounding outfits, I am SOOO excited about that one, got so so so many cute accessories for it! VW necklace, hippie flower crown.. AHH! :jumping1:

Mentioned this to my DD13 the other day and she was on her phone googling outfits before I could even finish talking.

Love disneybounding! It's so much fun to look at the clothes you have in your closet and figure out how to make it work! I like that it's subtle enough but others who know disneybounding can still recognize it :)

My dd did this on our July trip and had a ton of fun. She did very basic (what we could easily find!) Minnie (white with black polka dot shirt/red shorts), Ariel (purple tank, seafoam shorts) and another one that I can't remember. It was fun for her to dress up without feeling silly as a 13yo.
