Yesterday I took my Disboards Mickey Sign to a sign store to have it printed on an 18" x 24" corrugated outdoor sign that slides on to the metal holder (which I have). (Like the ones you see all over the place) Well, they wanted $40 just for the sign!! I couldn't run out of there fast enough!!

I'm just curious, how are you displaying your signs.

Thanks. :santa:

I printed mine on photo paper, laminated it, Gorilla glued it to a square dowel slightly longer than the laminate. I drilled holes in the dowel and use green cable ties to loosely hang it from a cross arm of my new Mickey Lamp.

Sign stores will be more expensive. I took mine to Staples and paid $19.99 for mine.

I made up my own lime-green mickey head sign with my info and used the Vistaprint web site that I read about in a Shan-man post. I also list the website url on the sign. There I chose 2 small Lawn Signs, had the same design printed on front and back (a little bit extra $), uploaded my design, and it was pretty affordable.

I got the wire stands around the neighborhood for free (hey, they were for old events). Very satisfied with the way they turned out. I carry one in my pop-up and have a spare at home in the garage. When I go camping in state parks or COE campgrounds, the sign usually attracts one or two people into conversation so it's nice in that respect. Being on a wire stand let's me position it anywhere on a site in a position that can be seen. In the past I had printed my sign on a piece of paper and stuck it in the window of the pop-up but it was harder to see. On the stand I can stick it out by the road, turn it in such a way that it's easily seen, so that works for me.

Okay, so when do you qualify to display a sign? :goodvibes Although I lurked for a year or so, I'm only a recently registered newbie. When we were in Stone Mountain this past spring, I saw someone with the Mickey lampost and I thought...ooh, bet they're on DIS. But I was too shy to go say howdy.:scared:

PolkaDot, judging by your post count you are good to go! :thumbsup2

Hmmm, I didn't realize we we're going high end. I was going to print out mine and put it in the RV Window.

I guess I've got some re-thinking to do on this one.

Mine are of the cheep-o variety. I just print out on letter paper and put in a sheet protector. I put one on the golf cart windshield and one on the truck winshield.

We agree with Memph1s! We just print it off and use the clear sleeve protector, save $ for stuff at Disney or dining! I guess we are cheepo's too.

35 Days till the Fort!!

I'm sorry but signing is generally only seen in the inner cities, much like between members of the "bloods" , etc. and so is frowned upon by Disney at the Fort.OH, WAIT ! Your talk'n bout family names an stuff !!

never mind. :lmao:

This is my personal preference on how to have them done. They last a lot longer in the Florida weather when they are done in vinyl.

Just borrow one of those For sale signs (REmax has good ones) Spray paint it white and stick on your lime green mickey head..:lmao::lmao::lmao:

Just kidding

Thank you all for the great ideas. We are going at Christmas and with all the decorations I thought it might get lost so that's the reason I wanted a sign with the metal holder so I could make sure it was visible from the street.

As always, "You guys rock!!" :rockband:

Hey, that's my stuff on that floor. How did it get there? Let me go check to see if the musket mickey is still on my cart and my sign is still in the garage. Oh that's right, you made those for me. Duh.

I printed my sign on a large piece of photo paper (11 x 17) and I just tape it to the front window of the motorhome. If my husband ever gets around to making a nice Mickey light for me, I'll find a way to hang the sign from that!

I used a bottle of decoupage to glue it to a stained wood board. I then decoupaged over it front and back about three times. I screwed a thin chain to the back and it is ready to hang. It's a copy of Musket Mickey from Big Daddy Rog's camping thread. You can see it at the fort 10/19-10/24 in front of our fifth wheel.

I laminated mine and hung it in the truck windshield on a suction hook (leftover from preschool car line). I need a better way, though, I don't think anyone could see it!
