WHY? My situation was NO different than the OPs. I went for a shirt, they didn't have it, cost precious time out of my day, I asked for a fastpass to help me make up for my lost time, they said no? Thats no different, in fact, maybe I should go make a thread complaining about it......in other words, get over it.

If you waited in line for an hour for your shirt (ride) and you were told the shirt (ride) would be there (open) that day, and if you were escorted out of the store (building) without an explanation, then I would think that you, too, deserved some empathy. That would be unfortunate.

The OP probably did get over it. Sometimes in life it is nice to have someone else say, "Aw, that's too bad." I thought that is one of the reasons we are here on this Earth for each other. You seem to have some anger. I am sorry for that. I wish you all the best.

rationalize it however you need to. The bottom line is you are needlessly being disrespectful and there is no excuse for that. If it makes you feel good to belittle people well then that's a whole other issue. We aren't going to agree. You are going to continue going on thinking that it's ok to treat people disrespectfully and I'm going to keep going on trying to treat others the way I would like them to treat me. Everyone deserves at least common decency

I suggest everyone keep this in mind, Disney owes us NOTHING. We pay for the privilage to go there. They choose to be friendly, courteous, and among other things, nice. Would it have killed Disney to give them a fastpass, nope...but did Disney have to do it??? NO. End of the story, everything is at DISNEY's discretion. In this case, Disney chose not to give them one....therefore, the OP has no reason to complain, it was the companies decision, and to stomp her feet and post on a message board, just makes it all the worse for the OP.

No... I know that's how half the people are here... inflammatory for no reason at all. The majority of threads end up with people railing on the OP because they don't like the way they breathe or the way their wear their hair or some other insignificant reason.

it's actually a little sad that it's such the norm to treat people like cr@p here that everyone thinks it's a totally acceptable social norm. it's NOT.

I do like it here... there is a lot of great info and a lot of great people... it's just too bad you have to put on your hip waders to wade through all the cr@p to get to the rest.

I can see controversial threads going that way... things get heated. but this? and most of the others that turn into this? WHY ... just for fun? is it fun to try to make people feel as worthless as possible?

if I waited in line for an hour for a ride and wasn't able to ride it I might take a leisurely stroll over to guest services and say "Hey there Johnny... how are you doing today? I'm great. hey I was just wondering... I was just in line for an hour for Soarin and something must have happened because we were all escorted out before we got the chance to ride. I was jsut wondering if there was a chance to get a fast pass for another ride. I've heard Disney does that from time to time so just thought I'd check"

No MARCHING, no DEMANDING, no "you owe me", none of the nonsense you are implying went on lol that doesn't sound that unreasonable does it?

when I go to the grocery store I'm not OWED a smile but it sure would brighten my day if I got one

It's obvious you think you're morally superior to the OP, because you wouldn't "whine" about a FP in this situation. Well, yay for you. But I can tell you that a whole lot of us would sure as heck want a FP if we waited for an hour with no payoff.

Disney gets away with charging up to $87 a day for tickets because they build great experiences, but also because they have carved out a reputation for the best customer service in the world. I am actually shocked that the OP wasn't offered a FP.

As for why the OP posted in the first place - he/she was venting. Take a look at the threads on this board. A lot of them are completely unecessary, either because people could search old threads or because the topics are kind of silly. But people post them because they want an excuse to discuss Disney with other people who are "into" Disney. At least this wasn't another thread on "Should I use a stroller?" or "What is fastpass?" The OP was just trying to talk to the community. If it doesn't interest you, go read something else. Nobody is forcing you to click.

how did the OP make a big deal out of nothing? it was one post. there was no anger in the post. it wasn't a big long rant... and it certainly wasn't multiple posts about the injustice of it all and how Disney is RUINED lol. it was two lines that said "this happened... so I did this... didn't work out... boourns"

Its a big deal when she "should" have said "oh well" and have then proceeded to enjoy the rest of her trip.....Instead, a "no" wasn't good enough for her, she had to justify why she was owed one by posting it here with her "disappointment".....it'd be funny if she titled is DISappointed.

IF you' d have actually read my threads.....you'd have noted where I said that Disney gives FP all the time, and there is NO problem with asking, there is a problem with NOT agreeing with their decision and then bringing it to a public forum, a forum thats designed for users to voice their opinions.....

Again, (maybe another non-reader in the bunch) I have SAID...that I am making this into a HUGE deal.........there is no reason for anyone to complain about such a thing, and further more, there is NO reason for everyone on these boards to get there panties in a bunch over such stupid things. Can I swim in another pool? Can I add a day to my ticket and use it as a parkhopper? Can I re-use my mug? People on this forum complain about the TINIEST things, and then turn it into a multi-page thread about whether its right or not......everyone on this forum needs to do A LOT of growing up. I am making this into a big deal because someone needs to set an example......People need to see how much I am complaining and then maybe, just maybe, they'll think twice before posting any sort of controversial topic.

I did read what you posted. so the OP was disappointed they didn't get a fast pass... how does that mean that the conversation didn't go down like I posted?

so if I had that conversation and then came here and said "I wasted an hour in line for a ride I didn't get to ride and there was a suspiscious lack of explanation (creepy). I went to guest services and asked about a FP. i was surprised they wouldn't give them out for this sort of thing. That left me disappointed" would that mean the conversation I had earlier didn't take place because I was disappointed about it?

No where does the OP say they stomped over there... DEMANDED a fast pass and when they didn't get one threw a hairy canary fit and stormed out of the park to come post on DIS about how much disney sucks and ruined my trip

Oh no no no, the OP may have been as sweet as sugar, she might have even got a little teary eyed going for that little extra effort (always worked for me), or she may have ran as fast as she could, or she may have drove her ECV right over there and plowed 4 kids over in doing it...........it doesnt matter, the OP should have went "aww shucks" and left it at then, instead, she decided to post here, while at the park how upset or "DISappointed" she was............next time they run out of popcorn while im in line, be sure to read my upcoming thread.....
