How many of you were disappointed at the pin event last week?
It seemed to me that they cut WAAAAAAAAAY back and raised the price.
The welcome pin was small and bland. Gone were the pin games where we won a pin, gone were the pins at each of the Disney partners. The boards were crowded, but so-so. No new lanyard pins, just a rehash of old lanyard pins, so nothing to get excited about and try to find. The snack was ok, but nothing special. The only positive thing in my opinion was the gift cards. Anyone else feel this way? Anyone else going to write a letter and express our ennui?

Daber,

I feel very much the same as you, about the same things. The $15 Gift cards were a nice perk. Especially since the last 2 years I was only able to use 1 of the food vouchers. So the gifts cards were much more usable for me.

I miss the games, and could not believe the so called new LS pins. C'mon guys, get an imagination. The only one I wanted was the red Monorail for hubby. Yes, I got it. I will say the lines for boards and such were shorter than past years. I mainly did the mystery and speed lines. The board lines still took way too long. And with nothing special, like LE AP pins and such, what's the point?

The snack was an ok gesture, However, every year I say the same thing. I miss what they did the first year. They had snacks and drinks available the entire time the first pin event in 2001. yes, you had to buy them, but I appreciated the fact that they were readily available, and I didn't have to leave the venue for a snack or drink.

The decorations were some of the best of the events I've been to. Really fun to look at. The CM's were so open and friendly. Oh, and I so miss the pins we got from the pin partners the last few years. What happened????? Such a shame.

As for the theming of the pins offered, I was soooooo dissappointed. I thought this was an event to remember Walt. There weren't any really special pins that showed off Walt and what he means to us as people who love Disney. The very best pins of Walt were the ones that required you spend a God awful amount of money to get. I quilified for #1 and that was it. A very nice pin trader was kind enough to do a very easy trade for his #'s 2,3,&4 pins. I'll probably never get 5 or especially 6 since you had to spend so much to get it. Just such a shame again.

Over all I did have a nice time, and I traded for at least 50 pins maybe more. That was so much fun. I met some old pin pals and made some new ones.
One major regret is that Stephen never made it to my table to trade me for a jumbo Christmas Pooh pin I so wanted. Hopefully we can do it by mail. It's just so much more fun in person.

I know that people from Disney read this. It's just a shame they don't seem to take it to heart.

Blessings,
Winnie
