Disappointed with Photopass CM

After learning here about the 99$ Photopass CD, I was VERY excited about it and we had TONS of pictures taken. I went to Epcot at 9:15am yesterday (our last day--we were leaving at 3:30pm) to get my CD. I also learned here that they would add Character Signatures and borders onto the CD and save both the original photo and the photo with the enhancements. Well, the CM said that "the rules have changed" and that no enhancements could be added to the CD at all because it takes too much time and other guests would have to wait. There was one other couple in the store at the time and they were being helped by another CM. I told her I only needed to add 4 enhancements to 4 separate pictures, but she said they don't do that at all anymore and I would have to buy them on the website. She gave me a card with Photopass customer service on it and it even says at the bottom that you can order a CD online after you leave but it will NOT include enhancements. Which leads me to believe the only place you can GET the enhancements is at the parks. I was sad, but I guess if that's the worst thing that happens to me in life, I should be happy.

Anyone else have this experience?

It was posted on another thread on this site a couple of weeks ago that they had discontinued the enhancements. Nobody knows for certain if it is permanent or just a temporary thing. The original post on that thread indicated that people were having trouble getting the enhancements to work when they got home I believe.

Yup, I read that too. It sounds like Disney is no longer offering the enhancements. Sorry.

That is new, we were there a week ago and got enhancements at the photo center at EPCOT.

I went to Mickey's ToonTown to get my photopass CD printed the day we were leaving, May 19. I too was told that they had stopped doing the enhancements because of the time it was taking to add them and then download them. She also informed me that they had just stopped doing it the day before! :guilty: So if I would have gone in and had the borders put on as the pics were being taken I still could have gotten them. But I waited unitl the end, go figure.
Tink, Stitch and the baby Simba do still show up in the pics that the PhotoPass photographer specifically takes for these images.
Hope this helps.

Again, wierd. Saturday the 20th, we got our picture with Mickey and his signature, so maybe that's not considered an enhancement.

Seems to me that without borders or signatures, it is just another disney pic. I can take those on my own.

You can add such enhancements on your own as well. The purpose of PhotoPass, as I see it, is so that you can get into the picture with your family.

I agree, Bicker. I was surprised when we returned with very few pictures with both of us in them...That is why we will be taking full advantage of Photopass on our next trip and purchasing the CD.

Okay so it is my understanding that if you buy photos while you are at the park you get the enhancements still. However if you just want the pictures on the disc they will not take the time to add the effects for you anymore. Am I correct about this? I only ever buy a few with the frames and siggies anyways mostly I just get the 5x7's for the scrapbooks without them so I can fit them into the layout a little easier.

Have not yet heard of the CD. What is it? What is the $99 for? My DH is always complaining he isn't in any of the pictures so we are planning on using Photopass much more in Dec trip. Would love to hear the details.

With Photopass, you can still get the borders, signatures and special enhanced photos like Tink or Stitch but you'd have to buy the photos individually at the parks or from the comfort of your home BUT if you want to buy the CD, you will not be able to get any enhancements done to the photos on the CD.

What I would do is if I had a lot of pictures that made it worth my while to buy the CD, I'd just buy the Tink photo, for example, separately at WDW, and then on my last day buy the CD with all the photos with no enhancements.

I really don't blame Disney. I've read many reports of it taking guests a very long time to add all the enhancements before getting them on the CD.

Now if certain enhancements are that important to you, buy those photos individually.

Are you able to order the CD when you get home or just in the parks?? I see no link for ordering the CD on-line.

Yes, you can now buy the CD when you get home HERE.

That's what we did in May. We bought the CD on our last day for $99.00 & for an extra $30.00 we purchased 3 5X7s (not of the same pic) with all the borders/signatures.

Thanks for the link to order the CD. The CM in the park told me I could order it when I got home and I almost cried when I could not find the link... :cheer2:
