Disappointed in seven dwarfs mine ride!

Really? Then why is there thread after thread about maximizing fp+?
Ok, Disney is a theme with a nicer coat of paint. Lol

Of course rides are important... But the place is much more than just reserving three rides a day.

I don't know, maybe it's me... but I hate superhero movies and superhero rides. And I couldn't care less about Harry Potter. I have no need for another thrill ride at Disney. SDMT looks awesome. I'd take it over every single ride in Universal Studios.

The whole Universal vs Disney World thing is odd to me (especially on this website). WDW is more than a place with some rides in it. It's an experience. It's beautiful. Resorts, dining, beautiful landmarks. You immerse yourself in this magical place separate from the real world.

Universal is full of rides based on movies that were universally (pardon the pun) panned by critics. It's directed to adolescents pumping testosterone. Transformers? Please...

Take away Harry Potter and it's no different than every Six Flags park in the country.

If you're going for thrill rides based on poorly written remakes and sequels, clearly there is a place for you in Orlando.

Have you actually been to Universal? I don't know what Six flags you have been to ,but Universal is alot more than thrill rides aimed at "adolescents pumping testosterone" .Universal is very well themed and is alot more than coasters and rides, they are attractions and experiences , much like Disney...I went on my first Universal trip with the belief that it was a thrill park with no theming, and happily I was BLOWN away by both parks.I have been to Six flags and I am a season pass holder for Hershey Park...Trust me, Universal is more than that

I'm sure I'll love the 7DMT. However, my preference would have been to add a headliner to EPCOT or something family friendly to WS.

MK didn't need a draw or more ride capacity while EPCOT and HS certainly do.

People over-hyped this ride to the max, sorry to be blunt... It's a family coaster. It's not made to leave us in shock and awe, it's mild, safe entertainment for people and their kids. I hope Disney makes more intense "adult" rides in the future, but this was never going to be one of them. :confused3

I live 18 miles from a Six Flags and have had an AP since 1979. The only DC representation I see is on merchandising and a pretty cool anatomically correct Wonder Woman figure in the gift shop.;)

They have characters around sometimes but it's pretty rare now. I think it would be a no brainer for Universal to pick them up if Disney was willing to buy them out. Otherwise they can continue to make more money than Disney on the Marvel merchandise they sell in their parks without even owning them.

At Six Flags Over Georgia they have the Superman and Batman ride.

And I hope they stay far away from the intense adult rides--anyone can wander on over to Universal if they want that kind of stuff.

Were these movies universally panned by critics? Seems to me that they all got pretty good review.

Jurassic Park
Spiderman (any of them)
Harry Potter (any of them)
E.T.
Shrek
Despicable Me
Men in Black
Terminator

Universal is far more than a place with rides in it and nothing at all like any Six Flags park anywhere. Your comments indicate that clearly you've never been there as you don't have the first clue about what the parks are like.

At Six Flags Over Georgia they have the Superman and Batman ride.

Six Flags NE has Batman, Bizzarro, a Gotham City ride, Catwoman ride. Granted the theming of these doesn't come close to what WDW does, and I assume Universal but they do represent DC.
We went to Six Flags NJ years ago and I'm pretty sure they have a bunch of rides representing DC characters/places but I don't remember.

Same at Six Flags St Louis and they also have a Mr. Freeze ride. A lot of the games have a DC comic feel and they are offering prizes that are DC related.

we rode 7DMT on Sunday evening. we only waited about 40 minutes for it (posted wait time was 65 minutes). we knew that it wasn't going to be a major thrill ride.

our verdict: it is a fun, family ride. it is not something that is going to be intimidating for younger kids. there aren't huge drops, but rather a lot of back/forth in order to get your car to swing. the indoor mine part was adorable. we all enjoyed the ride and would've ridden it again if it weren't for the wait.

my only complaint was that it's too short. of course, i realize that there really wasn't the space to make it a longer ride.

don't go in expecting a thrill ride. i think if you do that, you will be disappointed. but it was never intended to be a thrill ride. if you go in expecting a fun, well-themed family ride, you'll be happy.

And don't forget the Joker ride. :) I was specifically mentioning the character involvement. I see way more Scooby Doo than I do the Superman or Batman.

The whole area around the Batman coaster is themed as Gotham City. They also rethemed the Mind Bender roller coaster after The Riddler. None of that would apparently impact a DC agreement with Universal or any theme park in Florida.

would a 15 yo girl like this or is she to old? she's not a huge fan of most of the stuff in Fantasyland

Just out of curiosity...what do you consider rnrc and tot? Those are pretty intense adult rides to me.

It's the most intense ride in Fantasyland, if you can call it intense at all. I don't see why someone of any age wouldn't like this.

I don't get this at all.:confused3 Universal is very well themed. From the moment you enter the Studio Park you are immersed in Old Hollywood. You can meet a lot of characters like Lucy and Ricky, Marilyn Monroe and of course costumed characters like Scooby, Bullwinkle and Woody Woodpecker. If your luck the Men in Black will be out as well as the Ghostbusters!

The new Simpsons area is very well done and the Old NYC area is one of my favorites. In the evening it is just beautiful.

The rides are immersive and nothing like a 6 Flags.

IOA side is also very themed with bright colors and fun music for the Seuss area. The Superhero area is big and loud, the comic area is bright and has so many photo ops. Harry Potter is about the best themed area I have ever seen.

Cite another ride with that specific kind of ride vehicle please. From an engineering and innovations perspective, just because something swings does not make it the same.

Of course a lot of people here were expecting more. They built it up in their own minds to be more than it was. That'll happen watching progress almost daily on a ride being built for 3+ years.

You have it right. It's a cute ride, and little more. Which is exactly what I expected.

Disney hyped and IS hoping this as we speak. I have the commercial for this ride at least 10 times since Saturday while watching Hulu. People will actually plan trips because Disney said to come see it.
