Disappointed in my mobile order Nutella Waffle at Sleepy Hollow

Last week I mobile ordered a Nutella Waffle at Sleepy Hollow. Clicked the "I'm here. Prepare my order" as I walked over from Jungle Cruise. Unfortunately my waffle was limp and cool. It was obviously sitting a while. Did I order it too soon? At most places, people say to hit the "I'm here-prepare my order about 5 minutes before you want it. so that's what I did. But at Sleepy Hollow, are the waffles prepared much faster, so for them I should have ordered it much closer to the time I was there? Ideally a crispy waffle would be great.

My waffle at sleepy hollow has always been soft, as its meant to be folded over into a sandwich, I think.

As someone who makes a lot of waffles, they don't stay crispy for long at all. Once they come off the iron, as they cool, they absorb moisture and get soft almost immediately unless they are kept hot in a warming tray or oven.

As mentioned, the waffles at sleepy hollow are meant to be folded so they will not be hot/Crispy. They don't make them to order. They premake a bunch of waffles and just assemble them when you order.

Is sleepy hollow the one with the spicy chicken waffle? If so I remember mine being floppy also but I figured it worked out as I folded it into a chicken taco lol. It was at least warm tho.

Agreed, and I would too, except for the fact that in this case she did not get the waffle immediately when it was ready.

OP, at Sleepy Hollow they make your waffle to order. edit-I just saw someone say they don't make to order-perhaps they are right. I have seen mine made to order before but that may not always be the case. I don't think you did anything wrong, per se, by clicking "i'm here", before you were in fact there. BUT I also don't think you have any leg to stand on to be upset that it was cold if you clicked early and it sat there for 5 minutes. That's kind of a gamble you take when you click i'm here too soon-you know? You can't actually say that it wasn't hot when it was prepared.

My waffles have been warm, but not crispy. Most folks fold over I think.

Agree based on the chicken and waffle that is my absolute favorite snack on property that the waffles though warm are quite soft and nothing like a brunch waffle you would get straight out of an iron. Cold is another issue altogether.

Sounds like waiting to click "I'm here. Prepare my order" when I'm closer to Sleepy Hollow would have helped me get a warmer waffle. But at least it was nutella and fruit-wasn't bad, just not warm.
