Disappointed about May park hours - does anyone know if they might change?

Hi -

We are staying onsite for the first time - 2 weeks from now for 2 nights at the Royal Pacific Resort (May 21 and 22 nights). We will be at the parks May 21-23. I am disappointed that both parks will be closing at 7 p.m. - that seems really early for late May. Does anyone know if this is typical and if there is any chance that the parks hours will be expanded?

Thanks.

We went that same time 2 years ago and had the same closings. They aren't staying but an hour later Memorial Week when we're going this year.

The good news is since you're on site it really won't be a problem. You'll be able to do everything with FOTL and then you can enjoy the pool or eating somewhere or Citywalk that night.

We were just there the first weekend in May and they closed at 6pm at IOA...thought that was way to early BUT I agree, with FOTL we had more than enough time to see everything!

And actually by 3pm we started dragging and enjoyed giong back to the pool at RPR,eating dinner, watching the dive in movie, pool hopping, etc.

We did all the rides at elast twice with plenty of time to spare=)
Have fun!

I bet that Universal really looks cool at night though. When do they typically stay open late?

Universal parks are generally open later during the last two weeks of April (Spring Break), July to mid-August, October (depending on which park hosts Halloween Horror Nights), Turkey Day weekend, and the two weeks of Christmas and New Years.

NEVER:( I've never been in the middle of summer or the other times of year when they're open that late! I'm sure it is absolutely beautiful! I guess the good thing about it is I've never been when it's absolutely packed either!

I've never seen it at night, either. Everytime I went that it was open late we always passed out before then.

We are too determined to see Jaws at night, though. It sounds awesome!

if you go at night, make sure you see Beetlejuice's Graveyard Revue... the lighting, smoke, and pyro looks so much cooler at night... and let's face it... so do monsters! :)

Storm Force is better at night, too. You can actually see the lightning effects. In fact, MSHI overall is better at night. The alley leading to Doom's Fearfall is downright creepy.

Memorial week-end has closings at 9 pm at IOA. Dragons & Lost Continent is a personal fave in the dark.
Doesn't get dark till 8:30 'ish tho. Makes it hard to see alot of cool rides/shows at nite. Just maaaaaybe they'll stay open a little later on this Holiday week-end (pleeze?).
*which I'm sure is all relative to how much stuff is being purchased at closing time, so..... buy stuff, & eat lots, & drink (well, moderately). make 'em stay open!!
