HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DANCE!

JEN....HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY FILLED WITH SUNSHINE, PRESENTS AND QUIET, OBEDIENT CHILDREN.

DITTO FROM ME!!!!!! hope you have a wonderful day! :flower3:

i got called into court this morning and i slept with my hair wet last night, so you shoulda seen my hair today!!!!! :scared1: i looked like a homeless person. i didn't have any time to straighten it so i just threw it in a messy bun. it was pretty scary.

i'm at home now and SWAMPED with work. i'm debating on quitting longhorn or taking a hiatus. i have SO MUCH typing to do and i won't have time for it if i work this weekend. i hate to do that! i may call the manager and see if he'll let me have a couple of weekends off to get caught up. i knew as soon as i got another job i'd get busy again. it's murphy's law i guess.

I haven't had time to read through all of the posts, but DF called me this morning with some news. It's nothing bad, not really anyway, I mean it's good or bad depending on how you look at it. It's nothing I'm going to post on a public message board though for anyone to read though. DF is fine, he's just really stressed right now, and this is going to suck up any time that he would of had over the next couple days at least.

We were making plans to go out tomorrow, since he's off, and I don't have to work until late, but now he has to go into the city. It's just so aggravating that any time we make plans something always happens, and it's usually nothing that is either one of ours fault.

Usually it's his work that gets in his way, and with him back at work now, working 60+ hour weeks, which I think is too much for him, I think he should be starting with less hours, (he just went back to work last week,) and gradually working more, but nope! He started right back in with ten-hour shifts, six-days a week. And he works during the day, and I work at night, so our schedules always clash. He works from 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and that's only if he gets off on time, there are times he's has called me after 6:00 PM when he's just getting off work. Then I work late afternoon / early evening, (my hours are about the same time, but the exact times are always different,) and get off after midnight. I go to bed at 2:00 AM, and wake up at 5:00 AM to talk to him, then fall back asleep, and sleep until noon. So basically our only chance of going out is if one of us has off work, and nothing else is going on.

happy birthday dance!!!

i am home with a fever and chlls today...oh i love the winter.
maybe my lack of appetite will give me a good fakey number tommorow morning...to be honest, i would much rather feel human that lose weight this way..ugh

off to drink liquids and watch Tivoed shows..lol

Well I have been not online for two days and oh the news. I tried to skim through so I have a couple of quotes.

Dawn - Glad things are working out with the car, and of course you get busy when you decide to get another job.

Well I had a good day but a bad peep day. I went to see my oncologist and I got a clean slate for another 3 months. He's ordered one more test but says that everything looks good except for bone density which is "okay". Heck I'll take okay these days.

So to celebrate, DH and I went out for dinner. Not just any dinner. Mexican food. And not just any Mexican food. Flautas. And a big fat margarita.

But I did get to the gym and workout before the doctor appt. I'm sure that offset the first 3 swallows of the margarita anyway.

Dawn, I do hope tomorrow is a better day for you. At least you got one car running. :rotfl:

:cool1: Yeah on the good news. I agree you deserve on marjarita.

Hi all,

Guess what, Im going to be an Aunt!! Im soooo excited!

Congrats

Sorry for keeping you all in suspense!
Well, the short story....Baby Brandon Allen Lastname arrived weds 2/20 at 1:03 pm via scheduled c-section. He was exactly 7 pounds, and 19 1/4 inches long. SO tiny compared to Amanda (who was 9pds 10oz and 21 inches!) Amanda is doing really well and loving being a big sister. She has not shown the slightest bit of being jealous yet, and really the only issue we have had was me being in the hospital and gone a few days. (which was probably harder on me than her!) I am still surprised at how tiny he seems to me, and how it is possible to love both of these little people so much at the same time.

And of course...some pictures for you!

hospital1.jpg

You can see the picture in his crib here that Amanda made for him in her "Big Sister" class the hospital had.

bigsister2.jpg

The very proud big sister! And yes, she has more makeup on than a street walker here, thanks to my mom for letting her get all gussied up before coming to the hospital :rotfl:

momandbaby.jpg

Please ignore my red shiny face here...that hospital room was SO hot and the temperature controls were very crazy. It was either freezing cold or 85 degrees

One more for good measure:

The longer story:
It has been a wild few days. I am recovering much easier than I did with Amanda from the c-section (and my recovery with her was pretty easy) BUT, he was way up under my rib cage and they had a hard time getting him out so my ribs are still sore from them pushing on me. It took 2 Drs to get him to move down, basically pouncing on me on the table! Also, it took 3 tries for the epidural so my back is giving me some problems. (thursday and friday were really awful, they had to inject me with some pain meds and muscle relaxers because the pills did nothing.) The incision is the least of my issues really. He had jaundice too, so they made us stay an extra day under the lights and we got released Sunday afternoon. We have then had to go for checks the past 2 days and his levels are finally normal today.

Girl talk coming up here for you Aaron :upsidedow .................

I am attempting to breastfeed again, and doing much better than before. I got nothing with Amanda, and this time I am at least starting to produce a bit. We are supplementing some and I am pumping to increase supply, but I think I will be able to at least BF for a short time this time. And truthfully ANY amount of time I am able to BF is a success in my book. Especially with my surgery coming up, I wont be able to do it very long anyways.

Welcome to the world Brandon. Dance - he's perfect. Big sister is so cute too. Good luck with the BF, I BF all three of my kids. DD2 still does twice a day still.

Works for me I'm easy!

The test was way better than I expected. I totally psyched myself up and almost threw up on the way over. What the nurse described on the phone and what I felt were 2 totally different things.

Just some mild cramping on and off, but I am fine.

The good news is he said everything looked normal through the microscope, but he went ahead with it just to be sure.

It's always something when you can be sitting on the counter thingy with a blanket covering you from the waist down and your dr gives you a hug with your backside exposed.

Oh Joy!

Monica - what did you have done, I missed this.

JEN....HOPE YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY FILLED WITH SUNSHINE, PRESENTS AND QUIET, OBEDIENT CHILDREN.

Happy Birthday Dance

I've been a very good peep diet and exercise wise. Melinda, I must admit, I do like how I'm feeling with the addition of oatmeal and flax seed to my diet. I think I really needed that fiber. I wish I liked oatmeal but it's getting easier. I just wish they could make it taste a little more like pepperoni pizza. Oh well, can't have everything.

Oatmeal and pepperonzi pizza - yuck

Well I don't know if I told you guys this but I had to go for a endometrial biopsy today. My uterine wall is thicker than it should be (sorry Aaron) so they just want to check everything. I am a little concerned because my grandmother had uterine cancer.

Everyone else who needs a hug

Gina - the darn stomach thing went through all three kids last week and hit me and DH last night. I'm ready for spring too.
:flower3:

Good luck on the BFing! Funny how it's different with every baby, huh? Do you have a lactation consultant who can help?

You look so pretty!

I need my peeps again, I can't find anything over here.

Aren't there swap threads for things like refridgerators and coffee pots? I looked on the budgets didn't see anything and the exchanges. What am I overlooking?

I hope that he is okay. I understand about the different schedules. I live with my husband of course so I do see him more oftern, but we aren't off together much. He works a lot of nights and weekends and gets weekdays off, and I work 9:30-7 M-F with a half hour commute each way.

It's really hard on days like yesterday and today, when I am exhausted from work and have to work the next day, but it is his virtual weekend so he is all excited and wanting to go out and do things.

Anyhow, just wanted to commiserate a bit there.

Hi Peeps,

I see we have a new home now. (*settles into a chair*) Hmmm... comfy.

Anyway, I know it's been AGES since I've been around, but I'm back. I missed you guys. I've just been trying to get a handle on my health issues.

But good news... for those of you who were following my hospital saga and my having to cancel my birthday trip last December... I JUST RESCHEDULED TODAY!!! :dance3:

We are going 6/8 through 6/13!!! :cool1:

Punkin - I know you were very anxious to know if we were going to reschedule and wanting to make sure I got my birthday trip in. :flower3:

I will be in an ECV for a good portion of the trip, because of my Lupus. I can't tire myself out too much or spend too much time out in the heat. So, it will cause me to modify how I "do" Disney. But I figure, a WDW vacation in an ECV with lots of rest built in is better than NO WDW vacation AT ALL!!

Anyway, I just wanted to check in with you guys. I hope everyone is doing well. :flower3:

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! We had a pretty low key day so far, just waiting on DH to come home and see what we are going to do for dinner. I got the best gift ever this afternoon though......a nap with both my kiddos :lovestruc I so needed it and we all got in my bed and rested together. If only I could convince her to do that everyday! :rotfl:

Happy Birthday, Jen! and Congratulations! Glad you got that all too precious nap today!

Yeah, what she said. Hope you had a good day.

Congrats on getting to reschedule! DW with an ECV is WAY better than not getting to go at all. :thumbsup2 How are you feeling? Hope you have a wonderful delayed birthday celebration!

Ok, now that is the BEST birthday present ever, a new beautiful baby boy that napped with his mama, and sister. :thumbsup2

Monica, glad you found the swaps. I went looking for them for you and then saw you had already posted to them.

Tia, welcome back and I'm so glad you are going to get that WDW trip anyway. We'll be there a few weeks before you. I hope that the experience with an ECV is magical and that you have a wonderful time.

Kat, thanks for the heads up on the WalMart pitas. I might have to send someone over there to get some for me. I can't do WalMart as ours have live lobsters in tanks and I cannot be in the same vicinity as crustaceans--HUGE phobia, even therapy didn't help, just another of my many "issues". :rotfl: But I'm really sold on the flax seed so I will want to try those.

Dawn I don't know what to say about your workload. I don't know how I'd handle being in an industry that fluctuates like that. I picked boring accounting field because I can't handle variety and stress. :rotfl2:

Laura When will you know on your biopsy? I'll send pixie dust until you have results. I take that cancer stuff pretty seriously now.

I hope to have a positive weigh in tomorrow morning. Good luck to everyone.

:bday: Dance. :thumbsup2 on the nap!

Dancing Mamma!

I read that as "dancing mammal". Which technically is true, but i just thought it was funny.

Feel better:flower3:

:wave2: Tia. DH and I pray for you every morning. He's done WDW and DL in an ECV several times, and enjoyed every trip.
Make sure you eat well and get plenty of rest on the trip (said in my most motherly tone). I was sick on our most recent trip to DL, and decided never to set the alarm so my body could call the shots. It's a good way to avoid "Disney meltdown," and you want to stay healthy so you can really enjoy your trip.

DisFav - Just sending you some pixiedust:

I'm worried about weigh-in tomorrow. It's been really hard to get back on the wagon since my b-day. Work has been a bear this week, and I've been finding solace in food.

Hi all,

Dance - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Laura -

Well this week I am -1.5lb I will definately take that this week, I just need to up my water and exercise a little more and try and post a bigger loss next week!

Have a good day all

Hey Peeps!!!

Put me down for -1 pound today.

I am hoping to keep this pace up and weigh in at anywhere between 132 - 128 pounds when I go to Disney in 11 weeks!!! Today my weight was 139

Another quick post this morning. Work has been super busy, and I'm trying to get a few things done at home so not a lot of DIS time for me lately. Anyway, I am slowing inching towards both my goals (Easter and long-term) with a 1.8 pound loss this week. This puts my weight at a nice, even 170.0 pounds. I was so hoping to see a 16x.x on the scale this morning, but no dice. Hopefully next week. Anyway, this brings me to a grand total of 46 pounds lost since January 2007, and an uber-grand total of 70 pounds lost since I realized I needed to change my ways in April 2005. I am now 1 pound from my Easter goal (well, technically my goal is to be UNDER 170, so I'm really only 0.1 pounds away); and now I am 15 pounds from my goal weight of 155. (And believe me, I don't think anybody has ever been as happy as me to be 15 pounds overweight!)

I'm off from work today, so I'll be collecting all of your numbers and posting the Easter update sometime this weekend.

Have a great day everyone!

"To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first." - William Shakespeare

:yay:

Last week I was back up to 173.4. This am an even 172. So.....

down 1.4

I have to brag on my DH. He has lost 8# since Jan. I gotta get moving or he will weigh less than me. I'm really proud of him. He does toast for bfast with skim milk, a lean cuisine lunch but occasionally he goes to chick filet, and dinner at home. I think his biggest change was giving up sweet tea to just the occasional glass. He is better at going to the gym than me. He goes at least 3 days a week with cardio and weights.

Its nice to see that my "advice" works. Now if I can just listen to myself.

I'm am skirting on having to take Blood Pressure medicine. DH already is on BP meds and cholesterol meds but got a good report at the doc last week. so YEA!!!
