All of the princess images are so pretty! :goodvibes I really want my friend to get here soon so we can go to lunch, but I know she's busy until at least 1:00, and she's coming to pick me up, (I have no idea where the restaurant is, so she's driving, which is fine by me, especially since we got hit with snow last night and it's all yucky outside,) at some point in the next hour or so. I am getting really hungry, I usually eat lunch at around 11:00 or so, and it's 12:30 now, and even though I ate breakfast, I'm ready for lunch. Plus I haven't gone out to eat in awhile, so it's always a treat when I do.

I'm not so excited about eating my cake though, because it means I'll have to cut it. It's just so pretty, and I really don't want to cut it. I'll probably end up cutting it weirdly just so I can keep the princesses on it as long as possible, LOL. Even though instead of images they are little plastic figurines so I will be keeping them forever. I never understood why people would pick images you eat over figurines you can keep as a little memento.

I just looked at Trip Advisor, which is a website that offers dining reviews, and the restaurant I'm going to for lunch is the number one rated restaurant out of more then eighty. I don't know how I never heard of it before. :confused3 I just hope I don't have too high expectations now, and that I won't be dissapointed.

Don't forget to post a picture of your cake. Have fun at lunch! Me and DH may go out to dinner for V-day but not actually on the 14th. I usually make a cake for the kids. DS8 has a basketball game that night so DH will stay home with DD2 because it doesn't start until 7 and that's too much for her. This year we probably won't go out either because DH's cousin's sons birthday is this weekend and the boys are going to that on Sat and me and DD are staying home, it's at Chuck E Cheeses (games and things, not for a 2 year old) Me and my mom are going out to eat though.

Grrrrr; I had stuff quoted, and my IE crapped out on me when I hit Reply. And now I don't remember what I had quoted!

Happy Birthday disneyfav4ever!

For the questions about when to weigh in for the V-Day challenge, that is entirely up to you. I'll probably be taking my Friday weight, but that's just me. This is a very informal, motivational technique, so I'm just making it up as I go along. If you would like to weigh yourself tomorrow morning, and then again Friday and take the lower of the two number, then that's fine by me.

Which reminds me -- does Easter sound logical for the next one? That would be 5 weeks. (Although, it would technically be a Good Friday challenge.) That could be a little difficult, but then the next major holiday is Tax Day on April 15. Any thoughts?

Well, I'm going to be attempting to make chocolate covered strawberries tonight. I had no clue what to get for my wife (I can't even send flowers to her work since she works at a prison and glass vases are a major no-no); then we were watching FoodTV this past weekend and saw chocolate covered cherries. She made a comment about how much she likes them, and the light bulb went off in my head. I didn't like the prices that I was finding online to have some sent to her work, so I thought I'd try to make them myself. I love to cook, but I'm not very good at baking. So we'll see how this goes. I bought the chocolate and strawberries last night and have them hidden in the basement fridge. I'm scoping out the different pots and pans at home to see which ones will make an appropriate double boiler. And as soon as she goes to bed (always 9:00, on the dot), I'm going to give it a whirl.

How sweet! [pun intended] I usually use a glass mixing bowl and a sauce pan as my double boiler. The bowl shape sits well in the pan and gives you a nice wide area to work with. Good luck! P.S. don't forget to let the chocolate cool a bit before putting it in the fridge so you don't get white spots!

That's a great gift. Also try not to get water in the chocolate or it will clump.

If you want that shiny look to your dried chocolate. Add some parafin wax or a little crisco to the chocolate while its melting. Put them on wax paper to dry. That's a great idea! Good luck. She is lucky to have you.

Lynda: I hope you are feeling better.

Happy Birthday disneyfav4ever! I hope you have a great day.

Just realized I need to change my signature and add a TICKER :cool1: :woohoo:

You sure do!

I posted my measurements back on 1/28. Here they are again today

Bust 38 Bust 38
Waist 30 Waist 30
Hips 40.5 Hips 40.25
Inner Left 23.75 Inner Left 23.00
Inner Right 23.50 Inner Right 23.00
Arms were a little under 11 Arms 10.5

So there has been a lose in my hips, inner thighs and arms.

I think the reason why my inner thighs and hips have been going down of course from eating right but more so I do this Turbo Jam workout called LOWER BODY JAM at least once a week. Its only 19 or 20 minutes long, super effective and its an all lower body workout using bands. I def think its making a huge difference in those areas.

Once I hit my 6 weeks before Disney I think I am going to do this workout 2x a week.

As far as my arms I have been doing the Jillian Michael workouts!

On top of all that i think its because I am using more resistance training along with my cardio.

my goal is to get my hips back down to a 38 measurement..that is what they were last July when I went to Vegas..

So i'm guessing no matter what the scale says tomorrow there is a difference!

You sound like you are doing awesome to me.

It takes all day to check in here now.

Looking for high fiber food ideas?

I forgot to post this in my previous post but I have made a big change in what I eat for breakfast and it has made a HUGE difference with me.I have been reading on Jillian Michaels website and her challenge (last weeks challenge I think) was to eat better breakfasts. Her reccomendations for breakfasts are high in protein and 350-400 calories.I thought that was crazy but I am not hungry for about 4-5 hours versus two and I eat less at lunch too. Also my energy level is WAY up.For example this morning I had one egg plus 3 egg whites, two slices turkey bacon,1/2 large orange and 1 cup milk.

This has helped me in my diet more than anything else so I thought I wouls share it with my peeps.:goodvibes BTW,I only eat 1200 calories a day and this is still very doable.

You know, I have thought of doing this. I have lately been adding breakfast but only in the 100-150 calorie range. I think I need to up it and add more protein.

ray and i both boycott valentine's day. we have for years. there's too much pressure to make it a good day. every time we'd try to arrange something it would all fall apart. and i don't think how if you don't have a significant other, you're not invited to the "party."

We do too. I am actually going to a hockey game w/ a friend since he has to work.

Which one is this? We have eaten at a lot of the WDW dining since we are usually DDP-ites. I am reviewing most of mine in my trip report... although I am due an update and it likely won't be finished until a week or two from now.

We did the deluxe DDP this last time and I have to say, it really was a lot of food. We did 5 nights of it, and stretched it to lunch and dinner over 6 days, with 3 of the dinners being signature. Lunches were Concourse Steakhouse, Teppan Edo, Le Cellier, Yak&Yeti, Tokyo Dining, and Tutto Italia. Dinners were Le Cellier, Narcoosees, Tutto Italia, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Cali Grill, and Kona Cafe. It cost us about $700 for 2 people, and our receipt total was about $1450. I would estimate extras in tips at about $250. We used every credit including the snacks and refillable mugs, but I have to admit that not every snack was eaten in its entirety.

Oops, forgot... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Utah Mama..that cake is amazing!
Hee Hee!

Good morning peeps. I had a great day yesterday, stuck to the diet and worked in the exercise room enough to be sore again last night. I also did the "unveiling" to my staff, most of whom really need to exercise, and it was fun to see their excitement. I did my 4 miles of walking again, enjoying the gorgeous weather (and trying to ignore my terrible allergies).

I know it's only been 2 days since I added the oatmeal and flax seed to my diet but I do seem a lot less hungry now.
You are my hero! What a great example you are!

I hate cutting pretty cakes too! Take a pic first though! Have fun! I'd give anything for a kidless nice meal :lovestruc

If MY dh can do chocolate dipped strawberries, trust me, so can you! He pretty much can only fix cold cereal or open a can of chili. I think he used a double boiler and found "dipping chocolate" so he wouldn't have to add parafin or crisco. He made them extra thick, on purpose?

I can't do any challenges, sorry to be a big fat party pooper!!!!!!! I guess I'm superstitious :confused3 But if I sign up, I'm guaranteed to retain 10 pounds of water or something equally hideous. BUT, I'm behind everyone that does 100% :cheer2:

Punkin- I swear I quoted you too...huh. I am thrilled the beagle won too!!!! Bout friggen time! Uno is a special little guy too. Loved his barking at the applause! He's all, "Yeah, that's right! Take THAT you pom pom poodles!" (I'm not a fan of the poodle cut especially for the male poodles) ;)

My DD(16) calls Valentine's Day "single's awareness day". I'm not big on Valentine's day.

Well, I'm going to be attempting to make chocolate covered strawberries tonight. .

I made the mistake of washing the strawberries when I attempted to make these and the chocolate wouldn't stick. Just thought I would share. A cook I am not...

I just announced that we are going to do chocolate covered strawberries too.

I'm a sucker for the power of suggestion! I just HATE cheesey V-day stuff....as in EVERYTHING in the valentines day isle. I don't mind the stuff in the jewelry isle though :lovestruc BUT on a huge budget, the strawberries will be a treat!

Here's the pic of my cake,

050.jpg

I usually really take my time, and get the best pic possible, but wax was dripping down off the candles, so I had to blow them out. I did get them out in one breath, so my wish should come true. :goodvibes

My daughter had the exact same cake on her last birthday. We got it from Kroger and it was thee best!

Thanks Wendy. Now we are making them and I have to dip sons cookies in the chocolate for his party tomorrow.

What's the best kind of chocolate to buy for this?

I know I'm over my calorie count for the day. Well, maybe not over, since we did eat pretty healthy stuff, but we did get dessert, which we weren't going to get, but our server found out it was my birthday, so he said I could get a free dessert of my choice from the dessert menu, and how could I pass up free creme brulee?

Lunch was so good though, instead of getting a meal each we shared five different appetizers, as well as the creme brulee. My friend is a vegetarian, but she does eat seafood, so three of the five dishes were no meat dishes, one was scallops, and we also did get a pork appetizer, which I ate the pork from, but we shared the ice cream it came with. (Yes, the pork came with ice cream, which was unusual to say the least, but it did taste good.)

Then we went back to my house, where we had to have cake. We both ate very small pieces, and there's a lot of cake leftover. I told my dad he could eat as much as he wants, because I don't need it. So actually since I told him that, he probably won't eat that much. For some reason when I tell him he can have something he barely eats anything, but if it's just something he finds in the fridge, and he doesn't know whose it is, then he helps himself. :confused3 I did tell him to cut off a big piece for my local grandmother, (not the one who is witholding Christmas presents until I lose weight,) and take it in to her tomorrow. I think I'm going to cut the bottom off first, so the princesses can stay on the cake as long as possible, Ariel's going to be coming off soon though that means. The four of us, (me, my friend, and my parents, only ate part of the corner that is under Cinderella, and all of the "ocean" is still in tact.

My dinner plans have been pushed back to Friday, which right now I'm actually glad about since I am so full, (I may have to rethink the whole deluxe DDP thing LOL,) but I did get two books in the mail today that I had ordered a few weeks ago, and I'm also in the middle of another book, so I think I'm going to read a lot tonight.

My princess charm bracelet hasn't come yet. (I posted a few weeks ago that someone had ordered it as a birthday present for me.) It had guaranteed Valentine's delivery, so I was hoping it's be here today, since I know it was shipped to my address, and Valentine's is tomorrow after all.

My friend brought choc-covered strawberries she made to my house too! We had some with the cake. No wonder I'm so full, LOL. :goodvibes

- I want chocolate covered strawberries too...

My back is "out" of commission - owie, its spasm'ing - and I'm watching tv, the Barefoot Contessa had choc.cov. stra'berrs - - and I thought *duh now I know what I'm supposed to have gotten at the store!! :sad2:

and head's up - tonight or tomorrow is a "no practical pajama day"
(or you can opt to get exercise points and just stay in bed tomorrow to "exercise"!!)

just sayin... :rolleyes1
(alli how many exercise points are you going to get?? GO HERC's HEROES!!)
