Hi everybody! Thanks for the happy birthdays! I didn't think to check here since I have been decidedly unPeeplike. I had a great birthday and I am going to start fresh tomorrow. Peeps honor.

So I was a SAMER this week. I did pm DiZneydawn - please tell me that was the right one! yikes.

Have the results been posted yet?

I have a question for those of you that have breastfed----Rebekah has reversed her day and nightime feedings. Starting around 10 p.m. she is up every 2 to 2.5 hours to nurse. She goes right back to sleep. At about 4:30/5:00 she will sleep until we wake her to go to daycare. She will eat maybe around 8 or 8:30 then she will go maybe 4 hours and not eat all of the bottle. Total from morning until we pick her up is only 3 bottles of no more than 5 ounces if we are that lucky. Most of the time it is just 3 ounces. Around 7 she will nurse and then I will try to top her off again before I put her down. She sleeps until around 11 and then the cycle of feeding begins. HOW DO I CHANGE THIS???? Between her feeding and Joshua waking up I am getting maybe 4 hours of sleep total. DH has offered to feed her a bottle, but then I would still have to get up and pump at least once during the night--so I have not taken him up on that. Any insight on this would be great.

LOOK AROUND YOU by Henry L. Meyers.
Who is the person sitting next to you?

The person next to you is the greatest miracle and the greatest mystery you will ever meet at this moment, a testament of the Word made flesh, of God's coming continually into the world.

The person next to you is an inexhaustible reservoir of possibility with potentialities that have been only partially touched off.

The person next to you is a unique universe of experience, with necessity and possibility, dread and desire, smiles and frowns, laughter and tears, fears and hopes, all struggling for expression.

The person next to you is surging to become something in particular, stands for something, counts for something, lives for something, labors for something, waits for something, runs from something, runs towards something.

The person next to you has problems and fears, wonders how she/he is doing and often doesn't feel very good about it, is often undecided and disorganized and painfully close to chaos, but she/he is endowed with a great toughness in the face of adversity, able to survive the most unbelievable difficulties and persecutions.

The person next to you is a whole colony of persons, persons met all during his/her lifetime really a community, in which still lives a father and a mother, a friend and an enemy.

The person next to you has some things he/she can do well, and some things he/she can do better than anyone else in the world; there is something he/she one life on earth means and cares for; but does he/she dare speak of it to you?

I am going to a women's retreat in 2 weeks and I will use this. It is great.

Please do call her. I don't have long distance or a cell phone. I'm so worried about her! Ask her if we offended her or something :guilty: But most important, tell her we love her and miss her!

Allie! I'm so glad you're back!

Just yesterday I was thinking about Sandy too, I miss her :guilty:

Hi Y'all! I talked to Sandy on the phone today, and she is doing fine! She just has a wonky computer that won't let her post. She can read posts, but not reply. It knocks her off if she tries. Also, she is VERY busy planning her oldest DS wedding. They had all kinds of plans for this week. She says to tell all of you HI!

here's the pics of the hail i got. these were taken about an hour after they came down, so they had melted down a good bit. when they first landed they were like triple that size (like a baseball) but i was at anna's house and didn't have my camera. unbelievably, ray's car didn't get any damage. mine was in the garage. ;)

Wow! Glad you're ok  , and were able to get to Anna's basement! We had some pea sized hail yesterday, but it didn't last long. I have a question for you though. Is MARTA working in downtown? We are going to the Aquarium this week, and I was wanting to use MARTA instead of driving down there. My mom said they were telling people not to go downtown unless it was absolutely necessary, but we have tickets, so it IS necessary! ;) You can pm me instead of posting here if you want.

Danielle - Thanks for that! I am saving that one!

Heather - I don't have any suggestions except to wait for her to switch back. Hopefully it will be soon!

i just searched on the internet and it looks like there was some damage to the MARTA line. i can't find out if it's shut down though. i would think if it is that they'd get it up and running SOON because a lot of people depend on it. the customer service number is 404.848.5000. if i were you, i'd call later this week (depending on when you're going) to see if it's running. it may be down now but they may fix it by then.

Thanks! I may call in the morning, just to be sure! As long as we could get to Peachtree Center Station, we can walk from there.

What a weekend.

My sister calls me Friday to tell me she is taking my mom to the hospital. My mom's blood pressure was 200/100. She's a stroke patient who suffers from high blood pressure and has diabetis. and we can't take any chances.

She was just released today. All of her tests came back ok. They just think they need to play with her meds again.

So I was at the hospital for a bit yesterday. It just so happened that one of my day care moms had her baby at the same hospital, so I was able to visit her as well.

The church had a family movie night last night that we went to and the kids had a nice time. It was Bee Movie.

Today we took the kids to the mall. Got baby's ears pierced. She cried for a minute and has been great since.

There's a store going out of business and I got the boys each a pair of shoes and malorie 3 pairs, and a bunch of socks for 50 bucks. I paid 3 dollars and 6 dollars for 2 of Mals. I bought her shoes for school in the fall. Lots of sketchers, nike, etc. All shoes were 50% off the lowest price. Way cool deals.

Value City is the store.

Lots of things are 60% off. I'll have to go back to look at clothes.

Zack had a football game and I actually got back on my treadmill. Yea!

Heather: At night I'd lay side by side with the babies and nurse them. For some reason, they sleep better and longer inbetween feedings next to me.

And so did I.

I put them on a towel. So when I had to nurse the other side I'd just slide the blanket over and turn over myself. If we both fell asleep while nursing it catches leaks too.

Sometimes if the baby is having a hard time sleeping I just put her in bed with me and we are out for the rest of the night.

That's the only thing I can think of.

Maddy doesn't feed through the night anymore. It's been that way since she was about 2 months.

Oh Happy Belated Birthday Twinkie. Sorry I was detained from the boards over the weekend.

Today turned out beautifully (scattering my dad's ashes off the coast of Santa Cruz). Although there was a small craft warning as of yesterday, we only went over a few swells, and the wind was not too bad. 2 of my sisters and 1 brother and I went on the boat, while my other sister and brother and the in-laws, grandchildren and great-grandchildren stayed with my mom on shore. We talked with the boat's owners, and when they found out my dad was a sailor, they rang 8 bells after my brother scattered the ashes. They said this means the end of the sailor's watch; time for someone else to take over. I read from John's Gospel, and my sister read the peace prayer of St. Francis. We laughed and cried and told stories, then joined the rest of the family for lunch at a restaurant at the harbor. It was lovely and touching and went as well as I could possibly imagine. Thanks to those who sent prayers and good wishes for today.:flower3:

i've been skimming over the last few days and i hadn't realized your dad passed. i'm so sorry. you have my best wishes and condolences. glad today went well.

pigget: How old is the baby? Sounds like could be normal. Very exhausting for mama but normal. I remember my baby would nurse like that and almost refuse the bottle while at day care even if it was breast milk- it seemed that she would just rather wait for me. Also even if you are pumping during the day or giving formula bottles that frequent night nursing is actually helping to boost your supply. My only other thought is depending on how old the baby is it could be a growth spurt in which alot of babies will nurse frequently either from the bottle or the breast.

dwheatl: So sorry for your loss. That really sounds like it was a beautiful service.

Danielle, it sounds like a very beautiful way to remember your father and celebrate his life. I'm fortunate to still have both of my parents and I realize every day how the time with them is becoming more and more finite. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I finally did it! I flubbed up and forgot a birthday. And it was one of my favorite peeps!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNNAN!

Hope Saturday was happy, Nancy!!! We love you!

Heather: At night I'd lay side by side with the babies and nurse them. For some reason, they sleep better and longer inbetween feedings next to me.

I let her start off in her bed. Then she is in bed with me until whenever I decide to put her back in her cradle.

pigget: How old is the baby?

She is 5.5 months. At first I thought it was a groqth spurt or trying to cut teeth. It has been this way for weeks.

i have to share this with you guys. this morning i slept in late (for the first time in a LONG time) and when i got up i was craving a pop tart. i don't usually eat those for breakfast - i always have a bowl of oatmeal or a fiber one bar. but this evil urge just kept screaming POP TART to me. so i popped one in the toaster and when it popped up after cooking, i reached for it and some of the gew inside got on my right pinky. LET ME TELL YOU.......IT BURNED!!!!!!!! :headache: i've had ice on it ever since and i see a blister coming up. so now when i type it kills me to hit P, ;, ', ? and the enter button. thank goodness those aren't popular keys, except for the enter button of course. and i have SO MUCH typing to do this weekend. i'm gonna be in pain all weekend! just goes to show you.......THAT'S WHAT I GET FOR EATING A POP TART!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

Oh so sorry. I like pop tarts for a snack but I never put them in the toaster and now I never will. Hope your finger fells better soon.

ambesol should work.... (not sure if i spelled that right)... but the stuff you use for tooth pain... put it on the blister tomorrow and it should numb the heck out of it.

I'll have to keep that in the back of my mind for future use.

We're off to watch Horton Hears A WHo. YES, I'm getting popcorn this time too!!!! Sitting in the movie with baby carrots is STUPID and WRONG! :lmao:

The boys want to go see that too. Oh and yes baby carrots is wrong to eat. Hope you enjoyed the popcorn, that's one thing I cannot give up.

Pigget - My oldest son who is now almost 9 did the same thing when I was working. He would nurse the last time at 7:15-7:30 and then not take a bottle and then would nurse when I came and picked him up at 4:45. He was older lilke Rebekah. All of my kids nursed at night until they were 18 months old so that's no help to you. I will say that when she's older and you can stand her crying (I was never good at that one) refuse a feeding and then she'll sleep through after awhile but I would say after she's a year old I would start that. My only thing I could say is that my DS8 did the same thing as her but I can't remember when he stopped. I really won't worry about it. She just may want you rather than the bottle. I know it's hard to get up so much at night but I would take her in bed too. I did with him and my youngest Elizabeth (she's 2 now). She nursed all day and all night and still loves to nurse at least 3 times a day more if I would let her. HTH

Oh take a picture of her. My DD2 got her ears pierced at 9 months and she did the same thing. Cried only a little. We had hers done at the pedi, I felt so bad she got two shots too. I wasn't expected the pedi to say oh she can have them done today so I did. She was a tropper though and really never bothered them.

There's a store going out of business and I got the boys each a pair of shoes and malorie 3 pairs, and a bunch of socks for 50 bucks. I paid 3 dollars and 6 dollars for 2 of Mals. Gotta love sales. :cool1:

Zack had a football game and I actually got back on my treadmill. Yea!

Good girl. I need to go back to the gym but DD2 keeps getting sick.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNNAN!

14.gif

Hope Saturday was happy, Nancy!!! We love you!

Happy Birthday Annnan

Oh and Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone.

Hi everyone! I'm finally checking in - I was away for the weekend and finally have a chance to post. I'm -1 this week (although I think I gained it back already over the weeked). I was pretty good with food while we were away, however I did partake of the liquid diet - one of the other guests owns a beer distributor and brought plenty to share. We did a good bit of walking on Fri and Sat so at least I got some exercise in.

So last night I go to hook up my new dvd player to the tv in the basement so I can use exercise dvds and watch movies when I'm on the treadmill. Well the tv is so old it doesn't have those colored hookups so I can't use the dvd player. DH suggested we just get a cheap new tv since that one is at least 10 years old. After a bit of research we learn that a 20in regular old tv is still $150 or we can get a 19in widescreen HDTV for $220. We decided on the nicer tv to replace the one we have in our bedroom since and I'll just move that one down into the basement (since I don't need HD down there and the other tv has all the right hookups for the dvd player). After all that mess I ended up not exercising last night. But DH is picking up the new tv today along with a new HD box from the cable company for the other tv so I'll be all set to use my new workout dvd tonight.

Oh and DH just called me, he doesn't have to work today - he drove all the way out there and found out he has off today instead of sat. Silly man, he really should be able to remember the schedule, especially since he's the one who makes it.

Happy St Patrick's Day everyone! Even though I've got more German in me than Irish, I have an Irish last name so I like to think that qualifies me as being Irish.

Well, I got a new workout DVD to add to my collection. I orderd the Biggest Loser Cardio Max DVD last week, and it arrived on Saturday. The DVD has what they call a Maximum Results Plan, or something like that. It is a 6-week program where you start off on level one, move on to level two after two weeks, and then level three after four weeks. Well, I was feeling pretty confident. I figured that I’ve been doing Yoga, Pilates, the Walk at Home DVD's, etc 4-5 times a week for over a year now. I decided that I’d start with level one just because I was up late Friday night and was a little tired. But I just knew that I would be bored with it and would have to do level two next time. Well, after the 5-minute warm up, I was already huffing and puffing. And I was ready to collapse after the 20-minute level one workout. I could barely walk Sunday because my thigh muscles were just KILLING me. And stupid me decided to do it again last night. Well, I got done with the 5-minute warm up and had to stop because I couldn’t do any of the exercises properly because my legs hurt me so much. Although, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that they don’t really stretch you at all. Even the warm up is pretty intense. So I’m going to go online to find some good stretches to do before starting the workout.

All right, here's last week's Easter Challenge results. I think I got everyone, but if your number is missing and you did post it here, then I apologize in advance; and let me know what it was. Thanks...
