DF4E: don't take this the wrong way, but i think that's kinda crappy of your grandma. you should get a present no matter what you weigh! i understand the whole motivation thing, but that's just kind of extreme. especially since your goal is 150 and HER goal for you is 130. i hope i don't offend you by saying that.
You don't. I love my grandmother, but we do not see eye to eye.

It's not just my weight that she makes comments about. The first time she met my DF, after he left, she said that no one had told her that he was black, which actually considering the way my parents feel about that, isn't so suprising. She also thinks meeting Disney characters is a waste of time, and she never wants to look at my vacation pictures since they are all the "same."

I'm sure there's other stuff she said too, but luckily the day she was here, I had an eight hour shift, so I only saw her when I came home late at night. It was actually kind of odd, since she came in the morning, but then had to go shopping with my mom as soon as she got here, while I was asleep, so I didn't see her before work, and then when I got home from work, it was late and she had to go to bed. Then the next day, after I said I'd wake up early so we could visit, they went shopping again right after I woke up, except I saw her for lunch, but right after we ate, (and she tried to feed me cookies,) she decided it was time to go. So I only saw her for a total of maybe two hours.

I don't get why she even bothered to come to our house, which is a two hour drive, when I'm seeing her next weekend, and I didn't really see her that much anyway. I also don't get why they had to go shopping two days in a row, and why they didn't even bother to ask me if I wanted to come, after my mom had me request off work the one day they were there so I had time to visit.

I did have a nice visit with my grandfather, since he's the one who took me out to lunch the first day, (why I had ice cream my grandmother insisted I get when she was not even there I have no idea.) He also invited me to go to Wal-Mart with him the next day when my mom and grandmother were out shopping.

I saw my grandmother for the first time since joining the WISH Board and the Peeps thread. Since the last time I saw her, at the begining of the new year, I have lost seven pounds. I know it's not a lot, but I did lose weight.

If you all remember my grandmother had said she wouldn't give me my Christmas present until I lost weight. Apparently she won't give it to me until I weigh 130, my goal is 150, so even if I reach my goal, I won't get my Christmas present. Also, my sister who is about 220 pounds, and is half a foot shorter then me, got her present, go figure.

So anyway I saw her, and she brought cookies with her. She put them in front of me after lunch, and told me to have one. I told her I was full, and that I'd have one later, and she started a fuss that if I didn't want a cookie, I must not like her baking.

The day before, we went out for lunch, and she told me I "had" to have ice cream after my meal, since this place was famous for their sundaes, and it wouldn't be right to not get ice cream.

So I have to lose weight or else she won't give me my Christmas present, but then she's feeding me cookies, and buying me ice cream.

I'll also be seeing her next weekend for Easter, and she always puts tons of candy in our baskets, though that's easier to not eat, since I usually just take it home and forget I have it, or someone else eats it.

I don't get her logic. Does this make sense to anyone? I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that this is crazy logic.
What is this gift that is so worth taking her insults about you weight to get?

If it was me I would tell her to mind her own business WRT to weight and to keep the gift because a gift with strings attached is not gift.

Why would you want to see a women who puts you down?:confused3

I'll be eating at Spoodles in 3 days...Yup I'm counting! I love that restaurant!

DONT gain back any weight, Missy! Ok, 5 pounds. Not an ounce more. ;)
Do you know how jealous I am???? It's *85 there today! Take tons of pics for us!!!

DF4E- A gift with strings is not a gift. Whatever it is, you don't need it that bad. Unless it's a car or DVC or a house ;)
Silly old lady! "Don't you like my baking?" BAH! Weight Watchers has whole lessons on those people in our lives. It's taken me a long time to be able to jokingly say something like, "NOooooo way! Those cookies look yummy, but I've worked really hard to lose this weight! (so take your devil cookies and stuff them! ;) )" Don't say the last part to granny though. ;)

No disrespect to our elders and all that, but STILL!

Thanks honey...I really appreciate that...what did you expect me to look like though????
Perhaps.....

And I think I made my Easter challenge!

But I decided on a cheat night tonight.. pizza, wings, and beer. :goodvibes

It's still Friday in CA, so I'm squeaking in. Down .8 A miracle considering the week I had. The best news is, after a week filled with tears, swearing, sweating, bargaining, binging and begging, I get to stay in kindergarten. My kinder colleagues went to bat for me to the principal, and she went to bat for me to the superintendent. So yippee skippee for me! On the down side, DH and I planned to go to the gym tonight. Then we had to wait to drive DS somewhere. Then he cancelled at the last minute. At 7:45 I put on my yoga pants and sneakers and headed out the door to the gym w/DH. At 7:46 I stepped on the edge of the sidewalk and came down hard, smacking my shin on the edge of the cement. So no gym tonight, so I didn't work off the celebratory margarita and artichoke dip from happy hour at Red Robin. DH and I will be squeezing in the gym tomorrow between the science fair and my grand-nephew's birthday. Sunday we are having all the family get together to scatter my dad's ashes at sea, but i got a call from the boat lady today and they are expecting "dangerous weather." Please send pixie dust that the storm blows through before Sunday. Am I rambling? I need to actually get to sleep tonight (after a chapter of Eclipse)
I'm exhausted. We got in from the ER around 5:30 this morning & then I had to get my oldest son up for school at 6:30. I'm ready to go back to bed. My oldest son accidently kicked his little brother in the mouth last night. It knocked one tooth completely out, loosened two other teeth as well as pushed those two sideways and not in the right location. He has a good amount of gum & lip trauma as well but overall he is doing great.

Pakey, I'm off to Bristol. Catch all of you peeps later. Don't talk toooo much this weekend.

So sorry about the emergency. However, the irony of your DisBoard name made me chuckle.:rotfl:

:thumbsup2 to all the losers. to everyone with grief and turmoil. And  to everyone reading this (including any sneaky Body Boarders. You deserve  too. Just not magnets :p ).

Hey  What about me???:rotfl2:

I hope I didn't blow my loss this week last night. DW, DD & I went out to Texas RoadHouse Steak House. DD luvs to throw peanut shells on the floor, and I
love steak and ribs. Did not get on the scale this morning, too afraid to, food was good. No desert tho. :thumbsup2

BTW, In Jan we ate at Big River Grill & Brew. I got the ribs and thought they were fantastic. We were a party of 6 but I can't tell you what every one else thought of their food because DD8 fell asleep on the table and had to take her upstairs before everyone else ate. Her hot dog wasn't bad either. :sad2:

Oh take pictures, those sounds real cute. One question though how do you make an iron on from the computer, I'm not computer savvy and that sounds awesome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TWINKIE!

Happy Birthday Twinkie.

:wave2: Hi Mel I haven't seen you lately. Everything ok.

People ask me all the time how I could chat with people that I have never met with and have never seen or heard. I have responded in the past that it is our love for Disney that has made us friends. I now look back over the past year and see that it is much more than that. Yes, we all came here for one reason or another and it revolved around Disney, but out of that I think real friendships have evolved. I just want to say thank you so much for the kind words and pm's that you guys have sent over the last few weeks. They mean more to me than you will ever know.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TWINKIE MAMA!!!!

DisneyLaura: I was intimated at first by doing the iron on tee shirts originally too, but its super easy. On the Creative DISigns thread there a million of different tee shirt pattern ideas. If you PM one of the people on that thread they will gladly even make one to your own design, like adding your name and phrase etc.

then all you have to do is buy some iron on transfer printer paper at your local staples or best buy, print them out and iron them on a tee shirt

Oh I didn't realize you bought special paper, duh. That's really cool. I think we might have to make some shirts for us when we go next year.

I'm late with my weigh in info! I got home late last night, and we went straight to bed. I hardly saw home yesterday. And right now I'm getting ready to walk out the door to go help a friend move. So I'm down 1.8 lbs, and I'm really sorry if I'm too late reporting in for the challenge! So now I'm at 207.6. I wanna get rid of that darn 2! Gotta go! Have a great day everyone! :)

Happy Birthday Twinkie
I wish I had said that to the little Girl Scout before buying 12 boxes.
I was good, I didn't buy any cookies this year, even with the Girl Scouts hanging around my work.

Spoodles sounds really good, maybe I should try it on my next trip, and change it with either Boatwrights or Olivia's.
