on a serious note... please send prayers, positive vibes, :pixiedust: to Northern IL Univ - its being reported as many as 18 students have been shot. this school is app 45 min southwest of where I live
- and as it is close, we have friends whose kids go there - and my boys have friends that go there...

My boys are safe.... and probably are coming home this weeekend for a visit...

Lots of wedding angst, and its 9 months away!! I was figuring $200 a piece for wedding clothes (renting a tux could cost at least that) dh fainted when he realized a clothing bill of $1,000 was just a start!! (he keeps pestering me about planning a trip to Disney - knowing I want to go - but hello? WEDDING Expense...

*sigh...

Notice I didnt tell you to STAY AWAY - I saw that someone was purposfuly trying to entice you to get upset, and I truly prayed you would stay away - it serves you no purpose to post, know that no one can change who you are!! You are confident in your own skin - leave it be - and then put anyone on notice that PM's you, to leave you alone, or put them on ignore - right now, surround yourself with positive people, positive influences... and breath - Be Still and know I am God is one of my favorite Bible quotes... BE STILL... so hard to do isnt it? Take in peace... and BE STILL to feel the peace...

CHOCOLATE did someone say CHOCOLATE?? PICK ME PICK ME :yay:
How sad, I'll keep those students in my thoughts. I'll also try to stay away from that site.

OK. I did my last chance workout. 2.5 miles of intervals on the treadmill with a 4% incline and then 15 minutes on the eliptical and then a mile on the bicycle. I can barely walk now. If I don't post a -1 tomorrow, you may never hear from me again.

Dawn loved the pic. You are so pretty even with chopsticks up on the nose.

Paul Sundstrom of Rockford, Ill., one of 150 to 200 students in the geography class when the shooting took place, told WMAQ that the gunman was a thin white man wearing a black “beanie” and a long black trench coat.

The man entered the room from the back, behind the professor, and began shooting without saying a word, Sundstrom said, firing in the general direction of the students. He emptied his clip of ammunition and calmly reloaded before resuming firing.

I cant watch, or listen to any more - I'm just... so sad - I cant handle the nutz - do know the the Lane Bryant killings were more south and east -

ENOUGH with the sensless shootings!

Pakey that's crazy!! (but I envy you!! WTG!!)

Rachel was tested for the flu today and it was positive.
Poor thing! I hope she gets better soon.

:grouphug: It's so depressing to even try to look at the news these days. They try to fit happy things in there, but not enough good things are happening to counter the bad.

I wasn't the best peep today. But, I did drink a ton of water. hopefully that will help with tommorrow.

On saturday I'm planning on going to an event to raise money for the new animal shelter they are building in my area. I'm so excitied. I'm a big animal lover, and I LOVE to get dressed up!princess:

I wasn't the best peep today. We had a potluck , and i had 10 minutes to eat and get back to my kids, so I shoveled in as much as I could in 10 minutes. Crazy, huh? I did go to the gym and do 40 minutes on the elliptical. Then I had broccoli for dinner w/some lo-cal spicy peanut dressing and a few peanuts. My only worry is that the broccoli won't work it's magic:wizard: before weigh-in.

I did leave the box of chocolate covered cherries I received for the custodian. But I brought home the 2 chocolate roses and a few other treats.

I should have packed by now, but I haven't even started. We leave for DL Saturday morning.

so sad and mad about the school shooting! It is way to easy in my opinion for anyone to get a gun! very scary! and very sad! :grouphug:

-2!! Which means I made my Valentines goal (plus another pound) AND got some new bling AND got down to the weight I was when I graduated high school. Now don't get too excited-- I was no skinny minnie in high school, so I have quite a ways to go. My next BIG goal (not final, but big) is 21 lbs away... the weight I was at the end of my freshman year of college. Yes, I lost twenty pounds instead of gain 15 my freshman year, but I did it very unhealthfully. I want to get there, be healthy in mind and body, keep it off this time, and continue losing! Thanks for all your support PEEPS!

Sometimes I just don't understand people. How does anyone get to the point where the would voluntarily take another persons life, much less in such a random way? Prayers to each of the families affected, the students in that class room, and all of the students/faculty/staff at the university. They will need them in the coming days.

I am glad your boys are safe. I am so tired of all these shootings. It is hard to even turn on the news anymore :guilty:

DOWN 1.4 yay!!! its not totallyl my v day goal..BUT i am at the lowest i have been since right before dec. and disney/holidays! wheee! :)

Put me down for - 1 pound

I did not make the V-Day challenge goal but I see a huge improvement in my body and am starting to see definiton in my arms and legs so I'm happy...plus AF is in the house so Im counting that in as well.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend1

Well, I think this week pretty much confirms that I simply was not eating enough the past month or so, and that was really hindering my weight loss. I had probably my worst week of eating since Christmas, and still managed to post a 0.4 pound loss this week just by making sure I ate enough healthy foods the days that I didn't have meals out to go to. All things considered, I was happy with that.

Unfortunately, this means that I won't be reaching my Valentines Day goal. But on the bright side, I did finally reach my Thanksgiving goal!

I don't know what is more upsetting to me about all of this random violence; the fact that people get it in their minds that they can make everything better by taking another person's life, or the fact that this is no longer news. It seems that people just take this sort of thing as a fact of life now. I remember when the Columbine shootings happened, it was the biggest story of the year. People talked about it for weeks. But now we have this happen 2-3 times a year, and it is only national news for a day or two. People have just become way too desensitized towards this sort of thing. It just makes me very sad. :sad1:

But on a positive note, I'm going to see The Lion King musical tomorrow! I saw it about 6 months ago at a different venue, and was blown away by the sheer awesomeness of it. So when we saw that it would be coming to Milwaukee for a week, we jumped at the chance to see it again. The Lion King is tied with The Godfather as my favorite movie of all time, so I am super excited to see this version of it again!

Let's see some good numbers everyone!

"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." - Martin Luther King Jr.

Oh, I forgot to mention what my wife gave me for Valentines Day! She purchsed for me the Imagineers Field Guide for the Magic Kingdon, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom! Is there any wonder why I love this woman?

I couldn't figure out why I couldn't multi-quote, but I'm on DH's laptop and I wasn't logged in. I'm up 1.2 lbs. I'm not happy about that, but it still means I've lost 8 lbs since Jan. 1. I just wish my weight loss journey wasn't like the Tower of Terror. I'm up, I'm down, and sometimes I can't even tell which way I'm going!:lmao:

I'm hoping they've dialed down the news coverage to decrease the likelihood of copycats. A couple of weeks ago a boy at the local high school committed suicide, and there was nothing in the paper about it (and yes, he used a gun). I think less coverage is better. Anyway, it's all very sad, and I pray for all the families involved.

Good Morrrrnig!

I gained! Junk eaten on the car trip to and from Disneyland and while in the park is partly the reason. I'm up 2.2 Grrrrr! The chocolate covered strawberries are not to blame YET since they haven't deposited themselves in my bum and thighs yet...

I got on the scale this morning a proceeded to yell at it like it's a person. :rolleyes1

I'm looking at it as the huge kick in the pants I'm needing right now.

I need to go back on this thread to last week and see if there's anyone I missed.

Is there any interest in doing another challenge? If so, let me know what goal you'd like to reach by Easter (technically Good Friday) so I can start the spreadsheet. Remember that you'll only have 5 weeks to do it, so choose wisely!

As for me, I'm hoping to lose 5 tiny little pounds to get UNDER 170 for the first time since before I hit puberty. That'll be my goal whether y'all want me to keep a spreadsheet or not.

I am down -5.6 for a total of -7.4 since I returned from Disney and weighed on Feb 4th.

Hope everyone had a great v-day!

Down 1 1/2 LB And I thought for sure I wouldn't have lost any after the last two days. I guess this calorie counting thing is really working. :goodvibes

Have a good trip.

I saw it on Broadway years ago, (I think it was 2001,) and it was fantastic. I also saw Beauty and the Beast on Broadway in 2003. Now I really want to see the Little Mermaid. I absolutly love Broadway shows, though I've only seen five total, (the ones I mentioned, plus Les Mis, (which I've loved since I was 12,) Cats, and Phantom of the Opera. There's a lot more I'd like to see, but I just have to settle for having the soundtracks, but now they're making a movie of every Broadway show it seems too.

I would love to have those books. Is there not one for the Studios? I never understood why they have a book for the other three parks, and not the Studios. :confused3

I'd like to be 190 by then, (that's four pounds for me to lose.)
