i wish!!! DH has mentioned that the next two trips he wants to take after our april 2008 one will be christmas and halloween. so i'm thinking we'll probably try to go the first week in december 2008.....maybe.

We are going in Dec '08 as well! Probably 12/19-12/26!!

FOUND THE POST!!

I called the number on the flyer and had them price some things for me. A 3 night stay at Pop (standard room) w/ 1 day base tix for 2 adults and free DDP = 431.52. (By my calculation 3 nights at Pop + 1 day base tix for 2 adults bought separately = 427.99.) Don't know where that extra $4 comes from .

3 nights at Pop (standard room) w/ 1 day base tix for 2 adults and Deluxe Dining Plan = 623.52. So there's a $192 difference btw the package w/ the Deluxe DDP and the package with the regular DDP which comes out to $32/person per day. So the discount for the deluxe DDP is a bit more than 50% off if the $69.99 price per person per day is accurate (not sure if that price has been confirmed).

I posted in the Pop '07 thread my 2TS places plus a 1TS Breakfast!! I could do it but with travel, and time spent in the restaurant - 5 hours

plus we have to figure tips (why would you tip a server at CRT for the pic pkg?)

i'm thinking we'll go in early december. my family would collectively die of a heart attack if i missed christmas with them. and i've heard the crowds the first two weeks of december are really low. plus of course they'll already have all the christmas decorations up! we'll just have to see how our income is in the spring to book for christmas!

That is a GREAT time to go! We have been twice during that time, and that is another consideration for us as well. Will we want to do Christmas time there again? I just don't know yet. If we do, it'll likely be around the first week of December. So many things to think about. I've been doing some math, and it might actually be cheaper for us to stay DVC and buy the dining plan than to do the free dining promo. We'll probably start talking about it more once we are on this upcoming trip. That's usually when we start talking about our trips a year out.

Of course, fall 2008 was also our targeted moving to Florida date. I don't know if that will happen or not though. I wouldn't mind waiting another year, and we may have to anyway. Time will tell, I suppose.

That was our original plan as well but since I only have the last two weeks of Dec off that left us no choice! Plus, we wanted the baby's 1st Xmas to be in Disney. (Even though evil in-laws had a lovely comment about that one..of course my family understands) We won't be able to go commando anymore so the crowds won't bother us as much...we'll get to use the baby swap pass!

Our very first trip to Disney was in early December. Absolutely loved it! A friend of mine is taking her family for their first trip this December. Everything is decorated and beautiful. We went to the Very Merry Christmas Party and had a fantastic time. The crowds and weather were amazing.

I'm packing my suitcase today for our trip this week. I even made a last minute dash to the mall to get more shorts and picked up a new pair of crocs!

Our trips for next year are already planned, Jan '08 for 5 days at AKV, and May '08 for 5 days at BWV. Oh, and I have a girls weekend planned for Nov 3 but that is on my friend's DVC points. We may do Sept next year, but it will be on points, and we won't know until we find out if DH makes it into clinicals for the fall. We would be DVC anyhow so the free dining thing doesn't really affect us.

Sandy, I agree... you really have to look at what you are saving with free dining and see if it works for you. You do pay rack rate for rooms and get no ticket discounts, so it may or may not work for you.

I am so excited and SoOO not ready. (partiall thanks to UM posting the link to the custom sewing thread...I ahve been very busy the past few weeks)

Dh agreed that if I book it for next year, and the dates work for DD and school, he would committ to going and taking the time off. SO, it may be possible. There is no way I would take a 5 yr old and a 6 month old alone!

The only thing I cant figure in my head is if the 'free dining' plan is still a good deal or if we would be better off with a room only code at a different time. The revised dining plan is just not as good of a deal really.....but since we do alot of buffets the tips/appetisers dont effect us as much. Decisions decisions.....

I am bringing mine, I think... Mr Kat has a clearwire modem for his work, that we hope will work in Orlando. Otherwise, it will just be for the same reason punkin has hers, because no way am I paying $10 for internet!!

We wil be bringing ours. We have to have it to load pictures onto. And we do get internet access part of the time we are there. We try not to use it every day, but we do use it at least half the time usually. We aren't there until later in your trip, but we are at least in the hotel next to yours, so feel free to come by if it works out.

lexmelinda, I hear you! While I enjoy a vacation from doing regular things, including internet, while away I will be gone for nearly a month and am afraid I will miss out on far too much.

Last trip was only 3 weeks and I went to down to Kinko's in the shopping center to the left of Crossroads and the same side of the street and got a card that gave me Internet for about 20 cents a minute, as I remember. I used it three times and just did the necessary things and the $10 card lasted me for all the visits.

Just make sure you check out the kind of computer before you insert your card as not all computers are created equal.

If something really big happens, good deals etc. will someone here please track me down and tell me??
