Did everyone see that the bounceback program is being offered for FREE DINING next September????

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

There's a post on the welcome board that is reported to be from a travel agent....reads as follows:

I just wanted to make you aware of a Future Stay promotion that we have learned of for guests traveling to Walt Disney World during September 2007. You should receive some information during your trip, but just in case, you can ask about it at Guest Services if you are interested.

The promotion is for Free Dining if you book a trip for 2008 for the dates of 8/30 – 9/27/08. You have to book the trip during your September 2007 stay. Below is the information:

Book dates: Aug 31-Sept 30, 2007
Travel dates: Aug 30-Sep 27, 2008
Offer: FREE DINING

The cast member must verify that you are currently on property in order to book.

I also heard that you must pay the $200 deposit before you leave the property and you can upgrade to deluxe dining for $32/adult/day.

Aries - Do you need my email address? I think you already have it, but if not, I'll send it.

That bounceback program sounds just like the one we did last year when we were there in November! Is anyone else planning on taking advantage? Peep meet 2008? :rolleyes1

Woo Hooty on going to Disney this month!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Gosh, this is hard, I dont know if we'll have an extra $200 - but keep in mind it is totally refundable!! and it means 12 months to make payments!! :rolleyes1

I forget which board (resort code board maybe ) has the details I'll go look and post them here!! BRB!

OMG! Now I need to find a way to make a trip next Sept work. I dont think I have it in me to travel with a 5 yr old and a 6 month old though :scared: Either way, the fact that DH gets a paycheck deposit the day we check out is a good thing......means I may have an extra $200 to leave with them for a deposit ;)

i wish!!! DH has mentioned that the next two trips he wants to take after our april 2008 one will be christmas and halloween. so i'm thinking we'll probably try to go the first week in december 2008.....maybe.

I don't know for certain if we'll do it or not yet. We now have 250 DVC points per year, so we might do it that way instead. BUT since it's refundable, we might book it just so we have it, and then decide later. My question is...when? Checking in on the 26th? We want to hit MNSSHP AND Food and Wine Fest. If others are planning to do it, when will you book for? :confused3

I'm still looking for the thread that had a poster call for prices - she listed the price for a Pop room with free dining and the price with the Deluxe upgrade!

So far here's what I'm finding...
BUT, last year we booked the free dining bounceback for POLY while we were at POR at Thanksgiving....its only me and DW. NO kids.

We have stayed at WDW so many times, we know what our eating habits are. So, once the mouse started spinning the wheel in my head...it was better for us to have the AP Room Rate vs. Free Dining.

We just got back from our trip. Aug 8th to Aug 19th at the POLY. AP Room Rate of $249.00 per night plus tax....total room only was $3081.

With FREE Dining...it was going to be $4550.00. With no AP Room Discount. We have the DDE Card also. And with Free Dining, well the DDE Card is useless.

Therefore, i kept a VERY close eye on our eating spending this trip. It has been determined we spent +/- $720.00 on food, snacks & alcohol. We SAVED +/- $750.00 by NOT using the free dining. The AP Room Rate and DDE Card was more of a money saver for us.

Just remember the changes to the dining plan for 2008. It will no longer be as "free" as it was with the gratuities now excluded ( plus no appetizer for adults ). It's still a great deal but it does add to the total cost of your trip when you consider adding an 18% minimum gratuity to your TS meals. I have a feeling some of the other promos, if offered, might be a better overall value, esp. for those choosing a mod or deluxe resort. Still, better to book it if possible and you can always change it to something else...if something better comes out. /QUOTE]

That thread has to have been deleted - I have searched back 4 pages, I KNOW it was posted on Theme Parks yesterday - which means the mods should've moved it to codes and rate board - I checked back 3 pages on the resort thread, 2 pages back on codes and rate..

It was an interesting post discussing calling the special number and finding out how much a Pop room would cost using this bounce back promo... then the poster mentioned the '08 Deluxe Plan and was quoted another figure, which IF I remember correctly was an add'l $32 a day per person... (which gives you the app desserts, 3 TS - so you can book the 2TS places and a Character Buffet all in one day!!)

It may have been poofed because it can be construed as "rumor?"

See that's the question no one knows - IF the resort changes for booking for '08 then you would have to assume this promo ends on Sept 30... and when is Columbus Day? We went one year - it was extremely crowded that weekend!!

I have no clue what week I would pick...guess it depends on how crowded the week we are there this yr compared to last year.

Did you also see this:
September Disney Dining Plan Option

In anticipation of the increased demand at the full serve restaurants during the Magic Your Way "free dining" period, guests who arrive by September 22, (length of stay thru September 29) can redeem a Table Service meal for a Quick Serve meal. In consideration, you will be given your choice of:

Disney Dining Plan Snack Certificate good for two snacks. (These must be redeemed at the same time at the same snack location) ~OR~
Disney Merchandise Certificate good for one selected Disney collectible pin and lanyard set.

Guess they are planning for large crowds again this year at all the TS restaurants.

I'm not sure either? I booked the last week of September last year because it was the latest date so I was hoping it would be a little cooler and a little farther away from the epicenter of hurricane season. But. Actually Labor Day week seems to be very un-crowded. I don't know. :confused3

I suppose once you book the promo, you can change your dates later probably? Something to ask before booking. But if that's the case, things could always be sorted out later. Labor Day would be great, but we always use Memorial Day as part of our May stay, and DH can't take time off work around both of those holidays because the other finance manager gets to use the one he doesn't.

We arrived the day after labor day last year and it was fantastic as far as crowds. Now, I am sure part of why I felt that way was TGM's tips...but really even if I had gone against them I dont think it would have been horribly bad. I am sort of thinking if I do book it will be the week after labor day, but who knows. DD starts kindergarten next year, so I have to think about that too. I cant have her miss the first week of school, but I also dont want to pull her out of school the second or 3rd week either :confused3 From the looks of the dates I saw, going before school starts isnt an option.
