DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

I forgot to welcome our new peep in my last post...Welcome! :yay:

Dh and i are looking into selling his car and buying another one. he's either going to take mine and get me something else or i'm going to keep mine and get him something else. i currently drive a 2002 honda cr-v and i love it. we're really struggling trying to decide on something else we both like and can afford. so i've come here for help.......what does everyone drive and do you like it/is it a good car?

by the way, does anyone want to buy or know anyone else who'd be interested in a 1997 volkswagen cabrio convertible that's in good shape (brand new top/tires) except that the air conditioning doesn't work? it would be a cute car for a college kid or something. we're asking $3,200 - we knocked off about $1,000 because of the broken air conditioning.

Well, I used to work for Saturn, in the service dept...I saw it all come
through there, all makes and model of cars, not just Saturns. I loved my Saturn! (I have owned 3 different models) Cheap, reliable and they wont rust or dent. I had a 3 door coupe, a 4 door sedan and the SUV. I only recently got rid of that because my loan was paid off and DH got a good deal on a used van. So I am no longer a Saturn owner, and I miss it

Anyways, we had quite a few in the 100,00 and 200,000 mile clubs still gong strong. They take care of you as long as you do oil changes and basic maintence. Enough about Saturns.......I also like Hondas for their resale and reliablility. GM models are actually all OK I think, but I wouldnt own a Ford after some of the issues I saw with some of them. Sorry Ford people :rolleyes1

I drive a black Toyota FJ Cruiser, white top, 4WD. I love it because it is way up off the ground, yet still drives like a car, and I like the way it looks. Gas mileage is okay for an SUV, not great. And best of all, the interior is all water-resistant seats and rubber floors, so klutzy me can spill her AM coffee and no worries!

DH has a Nissan 350Z, cute but not practical.

Good luck with car shopping!

thanks for all the car suggestions....keep 'em coming! it's giving me ideas. i love my CR-V. i had a honda civic before that and, believe it or not, the gas mileage on my CR-V is not much different. plus it's the newer body style which i love. it's a 2002 and it already has 109,000 miles on it....but i drive a lot for work!

DH is being stubborn about his car. he wants to keep driving it, but he comes home from work every day completely soaking wet with sweat because the air conditioning's out and he refuses to fix it. it's a convertible, but that doesn't make much of a difference in the middle of july. i love his car and wish we could keep it (it's nice to have in the spring/fall for top-down weekend drives!), but we'd need the money for a down payment. anyway, he wants to get a scion XB and i think those things are so ugly!!!!! like a low-ride kleenex box on wheels! so i'm trying to get other ideas for him. i wouldn't mind getting a volkswagen jetta for myself and giving him my car. we'll just have to see!

I drive a '95 Chevy Tahoe with 154,000 miles on it. It's been through a few accidents (none of them my fault, FWIW), but is still going strong. I'm a "drive it into the dirt" kind of guy, so I won't be getting anything new anytime soon; although, I was very tempted by a nice looking Honda Ridgeline around this time last year. Anyway, my wife purchased a Toyota Corolla two years ago, and she loves it. After doing quite a bit of research myself, I gave her my seal of approval. We have been very happy with it. Gets good gas milage; handles nice; is sporty enough where you still feel like you are driving a young person's car, but is four door to accomodate future family expansion. I would highly recommend it.

Well, DH works for a Nissan/Subaru dealership (as a finance manager), but the dealership also carries Saturn, Pontiac, GMC, Lincoln, and Mercury. I have an '05 Nissan Quest minivan. I love it! It was hard for me to transition to a minivan from a car, especially since we don't have kids, but it is great for road trips, and it gets good gas mileage. DH's personal car is an '05 Mustang in 'Legend Lime'. He drives it in the warmer months, but parks it in the garage in the winter and takes a demo from work, which is either a Nissan or Subaru, so I've sampled a lot of these lines. I LOVE Nissans. I like the way they look and their reliability, comfort, and features. I also like Subarus, but I am partial to the Tribecas in that group. FIL actually bought a Tribeca. Great vehicle! I think if we didn't want the extra space for road trips, I would have the Nissan Murano or the Altima, but I love my Quest. Nissan is also coming out with a new small SUV, but I'm not sure when it comes out. Oh, and DH has helped two of his aunts buy Saturn Vues, and his cousin bought a Pontiac Grand Prix from his dealership as well. They are all happy with their vehicles. Let me know if you have any questions I could relay to DH for you. :)

Peeps I am bouncing off the walls tonight. I am so gosh darn fidgety, I can't sit still for more than 5 minutes and then I'm up wandering around. And even when I'm sitting, I'm shifting positions, moving things around. Not good when you are trying to get some much needed work done.

I just took some tylenol pm to help with the ants in the pants and the monster that has taken up residency in my mouth. I should be out in 30 minutes :rotfl2:

Wonders!!!! Hope those Ants in your Pants are not contageous!

Newbie to the thread! I've been perusing the WISH boards since march when I started this crazy lifestyle change! lol. I've lost about 25 pounds so far, and my goal is to lose another 15 by my Disney trip in September!! I really want to be able to be comfortable in a spaghetti strapped tank top, thats my goal.

Right now i've hit a bad plateu, It's been about 2 weeks with no change. Tomorrow is weigh day, so I guess I'll have to wait and see if my extra exersize paid off this week!

July is a very busy peeps birthday month so let's start it off with one of our most favorite and been-around-the-longest peeps, DisneyObsession....

Good luck on your weigh-in!

Happy bday Gayle!

I have my "wellness" appointment tomorrow. I have exceeded the wellness nurse's goal of 10 lbs... I think it is about 18-20 since my last appt, so I should get an insurance premium discount now! It will save me about $50/month, so I really hope it goes well.

I am having work motivation problems this week. I want a vacation. Can't wait until September...

Hope everyone has a great and skinny day!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GAYLE!!!!!!
I will have some cake for you, you know... so you dont have to ;)

Well, peeps I have my first Dr appt in a few hours. Why is it that I have confirmed my pregnancy with 3 home tests, yes I am OCD, and I still feel like I will go and they will tell me I am not really pregnant? Like somehow I was imagining it all, and just eating anything I wanted off my diet last week for no reason :scared:

Good morning Peeps! Just thought I'd pop in to say hi. Not much time, as seems to be the theme here lately.

Happy Birthday Gayle!!! :cool1: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :cheer2: :grouphug:

Hope it's a great one!

Guess what? I am tied for third place over on the photography board's weekly photo contest in the Fireworks final poll! :woohoo: I've entered countless weekly contests over there, and I have yet to place. I came close-ish once, but this would be a first for me. There's no money or anything to be won. Just for fun. And I always enjoy entering even if I don't place in the top three, but it's still exciting that I might just do it this time. :yay: (BTW, this is NOT a request to go vote for me. If you would like to, feel free, but I'm not soliciting votes. Just wanted to share my excitement with my Peeps! :))

I forgot to say Welcome to our new Peeps!!!

and Welcome Back Wendy!!! We missed you! :goodvibes So glad you're back!
