I love my Kodak Easyshare. I paid more than that for mine but they have lots of models for less. Mine was about $250 with the printer dock. It has a 10x optical zoom too which I love.

Today has been spent making flower girl headpieces. I think they came out pretty cute, if I do say so myself! Here are some pics for you all of my supermodel showing them off. I could not get her to take a 'nice' picture, they all came out like she was a mini Paris Hilton :rotfl: I made them with fake flowers hot glued onto a hoop people use for embroidery. (they were the right size and 2 for $1!)
!
Beautiful! You are so talented! :cutie:

yes, she is definitely a good workout partner.....she motivates me so much! but i just wanted to say, as far as looking at others and getting mad at yourself.......i've learned this since anna and i have become so close: everyone is built differently and it comes easier for some people than others. there is NO WAY i'm ever gonna look like her and i've accepted that. some people are just blessed to look incredible and to be able to look the way they do with less effort than others. i'm not saying she doesn't work her booty off at the gym, but even if i did the same thing i wouldn't look like her. i'm just not built that way. i am a firm believer that we're each blessed with our own gifts and anna's is her fitness!
!

I love how you put that! It is so true! I work with a lot of people who are naturally skinny so it is easy for me to get down on myself because they are so much smaller. Your quote puts it all in perspective!

GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE!

Learning to live with food, not without food.
The hardest part about our sensible approach to weight loss is convincing people that it works. When we tell people that we've lost three hundred pounds eating fabulous food, they simply can't believe it. For most of us, trying to lose weight has always been associated with feeling deeply deprived while eating horrid food. But we'd "been there, done that" with the deprivation and horrid food. A lifetime of "yo-yo" dieting is how we got to be so fat!

Most of us with weight problems no longer have any idea what it takes to support a healthy weight. We're always either dieting or planning to diet. And when we're planning to diet, we're EATING! How do you lose weight and keep it off? You have to stop dieting, stop planning to diet, and start learning to eat correctly. How do you begin?

Choose a reasonable goal weight. Calculate your daily caloric intake using the following formula:
Female: Goal weight in pounds X 12 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake
Male: Goal weight in pounds X 14 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake.

Start eating a well-balanced diet that contains this number of calories.

After a few days, take a good, hard look at how you're doing. If you're not happy with the amount of food that maintains your goal weight, you have two choices: you can either start exercising or you can decide to weigh more. If you lose weight by eating less food than you're willing to subsist on forever, you're wasting your time. As soon you start eating more calories, you'll start gaining weight.

If you lose weight by "practicing" to maintain the weight you wish to achieve, you'll know how to sustain it when you get there. And we're living proof that it's possible.

HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!

Thank you for reposting that!:)

Yuck! I hope you are keeping cool!:)

Single digits baby!!!! I can't believe I only have 8 days left after today!! :cool1: :woohoo: :cheer2: I am also on a half day at work so I should be out of here by 1.

party: I am so excited for you! You are going to have a blast!!

Hi peeps. I was a bad girl last night. It was DH's b-day and we went out to dinner....late too. I didnt even finish until close to 10! And then we had cake :sad2: I hate when I do that. For some reason it makes me wake up starving when I eat late at night. I am trying to climb backon the wagon today though. I plan to get out of the house to the pool soon, and that should help alot.

On another note....does anyone know of a good place to order jewlery online, specifically wedding bands for men? I need to replace DH's wedding band and am having a heck of a time finding something he wants that is a good deal. His original band has 3 tiny diamonds on it and one of them is sunken into the setting...it looks like it is missing. It has been that way for a long time, and the jeweler said it would cost more to fix it than to replace it. :sad1: So we are hunting for a new ring, which I am not thrilled about because I am a sentimental fool. BUT, it does look pretty tacky the way it is. Anyways, he wants a 2 tone band, preferably titanium or tungsten metal with a gold inlay stripe in it if that makes sense. We decided no stones this time. Apparently he is pretty rough on his jewlery so we want to stick with a band made from a strong metal. Any ideas on where to look? I hate going to traditional jewlery stores. I feel like the mark up is ridiculous.

Today is a new day! You have been doing awesome! Don't let one meal get you down! You can do it!:cheer2:

On the wedding band I would try: JC Penney's and Kohl's. Both have pretty good sales and nice looking bands.

OK,
Well folks, obviously I haven't been on that much since I returned home from WDW. I have a feeling this summer is going to be CRAZY! I think the September trip is going to be here before I know it because the weekends are so full here! (And I love summer and don't want it to end, so it will FLY BY!)

First, we had the Gwen Stefani concert, which was FAN-freakin'-TASTIC btw! (Seats were great, she was great, and she thanked her fans for sticking with her through "...these two crazy dance albums. A No Doubt album's next!" to which I almost cried I was so happy!) Last weekend I went out with a couple of friends (one of them being the one who's getting married in July) to scope out the location for the wedding reception for photo-ops and get pedicures. And we took my mom out for her birthday dinner on Sunday. This weekend, I have a wedding to attend for a co-worker, and I will be taking pictures while she is getting ready that morning because her photographer won't be there until 1:00. Then we have Father's Day with DH's dad Sunday. (I'm not such a fan of Father's Day since losing my dad.) The week after that is Fair week, and my Mom is heavily involved with that, so we'll spend some time there. (DH and I used to both be on the board as well and were the talent show directors, but gave that up due to time constraints.) The following Friday is my endoscopy. In July, I have the friend's wedding that I am photographing as well as pre-wedding activities I'm sure will be taking place. DH and I also want to go to Indy to visit my friend there (and maybe meet a Peep or two) and go to Chicago for a mini-peep meet and Ikea shopping trip. In August, we will be taking DH's sister to Cedar Point, and then at the end of September we have WDW again!

Right now, I am prepping for the weddings. Pricing out & researching some equipment I want to get before my friend's wedding, refreshing my memory on some technique I haven't used in a while, looking for ideas for specific shots on the internet...

I am also working on my trip report, and I desperately need to get back on the wagon with exercise! I am getting my hair cut (and possibly color touched up) tonight, but I really want to ride my bike tonight, so hopefully I'll have time. But who knows? (I drive about 30-40 minutes each way to get to my stylist.) I have been being good with food, but I haven't been writing it down, which I should.

Anyway, I wanted to let you all know why I haven't been around as much. I'm really hoping for improvement after the wedding this weekend is over. I miss my Peeps, and I need the accountability of posting totals here! I am trying to read whenever I can, and I am thinking about you all! to anyone in need and even if you don't need 'em! :) OK, gotta get back to work here! Later Peeps!

You ARE a busy girl! I am glad the concert was fun (and that a new No Doubt album is on the horizon:thumbsup2 ). Good luck with the wedding pictures. I am sure they will be fantastic!:thumbsup2 Your peeps miss you too!!

MJ Mouse: Have fun at NYC! I would love to see a Broadway show someday. It sounds like you have a great eating plan.:thumbsup2

Hi Peeps! I hope everyone is having a skinny day! I have been doing pretty well at keeping within my points each day. I have to start doing some excercise though! That is something I am really slacking on. I have been working on my Disney scrapbook. I think it is coming out pretty good for my first attempt. I also have been working on....school stuff:scared1: ! I know I have a lot of time before school starts in August. But I figure if I do a little at a time I won't be as stressed out trying to get it all done. If anyone eats Lean Cuisine meals, I love the Lean Cuisine meals with twice the veggies. They are so much more filling! I had the peanut chicken one for lunch and I liked it.:thumbsup2

Hi Peeps!

Just stopping by to let you know I won't be around all weekend, as I leave 4:30am tomorrow morning on a train to Albany for my nieces wedding! So, I am recording my WI now.... 1 lb lost!!!!! I am on a steady downhill progression, but it is slow. I guess it's true..."Slow & steady wins the race." I'll win this weight loss race before I know it!!! (Said with all the confidence I can muster!!! :cool1: )

Hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy your weekend! :hippie:

Eh, don't worry about it... just jump right back up! One bad day won't hurt you, as long as you don't let it escalate into a bad weekend.

We bought DH's wedding band on ebay. It is titanium and was only $15. Great thing because he lost it within the first year and it had to be replaced. We also bought my engagement ring on ebay, for 1/5 of its appraised value. At the time things weren't going so well financially for him, and I didn't want him to have to spend much money. Both vendors were selling new product, and both had ebay stores, so neither came with any "history".

BTW -- does anyone have a suggestion for a decent Point and Shoot Digital camera <$200??

I have a Canon Powershot. My coworker just bought an 8MP one for $180 or so, I think it the A630.

I love those too! Smart Ones has super-veggie ones as well... my fav so far is Roast Beef w/gravy.

I conquered that frackin elliptical trainer today... 47 minutes at level 6, 3.4 miles, 475 calories.

HARLEY - i need your help! my dad just bought a new harley and i want to get him a harley davidson t-shirt as part of my father's day gift to him. sounds simple, right? WRONG! i can't find one anywhere! i went to harley davidson's general website and all i could find was the outerwear stuff that you wear while riding. every other site i've found is for specific stores and therefore has the city and state somewhere on the shirt. i don't want that.....just a regular harley logo t-shirt. any ideas? i knew you'd be the one to ask! :)

punkin - I know I'm not Harley, better yet you don't even know me, but I just stumbled across your trip report this week and have really been enjoying it! I have also been losing some weight, which is what brought me to the Disappearing Peeps thread. We have a Harley-Davidson store where I live and if you can't find one anywhere else, I don't mind to pick one up for you and ship it to you. Anything for a fellow DISer! ;)

Well hello Peeps! I am embarresed to admit that I haven't been on here since I thin March...I hope you haven't forgotten me!!! I see so many new names that I am completely lost! :confused3

Anyways, Dismom emailed me and told me to hop on here because someone is planning their first trip to NY...I AM SOOOOO JEALOUS!!!

My DBF and I went for the first time a couple of months ago and absolutely fell in love with the city! We would move there if a 700 sf apartment didn't cost $2600!!! :scared1:

Anyways - I just wanted to jump in and say hello :wave2:
I promise I will try to do better...I think about you guys alot...I have my bracelet on my key chain and it keeps you all in my thoughts!!!

Bad news is I haven't lost any more weight...Good news is I haven't gained any either. I really have to get my rear motivated again!

Choose a reasonable goal weight. Calculate your daily caloric intake using the following formula:
Female: Goal weight in pounds X 12 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake
Male: Goal weight in pounds X 14 calories/pound = Daily caloric intake.

Ok Melinda I have a quesiton about this formula, how successful is it?? How long does it take at that rate of intake??

With the change in my restrictions I am stuck. I am frsutrated as well. I did drop 14 intially after getting ill. I did not add it to my ribbon as I knew it would be a short term thingy. So now I am back at the 25 loss mark and still have another 60 to go. I am getting back some of my energy just now need motivation EEEKKK I am so ticked that I was doing better with my view of food.

Now I am back to thinking of it as something besides a source of energy and nutrition. I got up last night around 3 am and ate 4 each of yodels. I was angry at myself I can't tell you.

So I am trying to find a way that I can eat what they wnat me to but still work on weight loss. Funny thing they noticed I am a bit on the heavy side I stood there in shock and said your scale must be wrong I went to bed and weighed 115 I have no diea where all this came from. No snse of humor does the medical prfoession hold !

Ok enough babbbling and whninhg and typos out of me!

this is one of the things that has definitely worked for me. my goal weight is 130, so i limit my calorie intake every day to 1500 calories. i usually total somewhere around 1350-1450 per day. also, i drink nothing but water (except in the mornings i have a cup of coffee with fat free creamer). and i exercise usually at least 3 times a week. i started this plan back at the beginning of march and i've lost 21 pounds total so far. just wanted to share that it DID work for me.

:lmao: fidge, you crack me up! i'm glad you're back!!!!

Thanks Punkin need to work out the plan you know!!!!

BTW did you every get to try and hit up the park in PA Knoebels?? You know they allow pets in there too!!!

you're allowed to cheat on birthdays and holidays!!!!! ;)

way to go!!!! :thumbsup2 i hate the elliptical! actually, i hate ANY cardio!!! it is not my friend.

I agree, birthdays and holidays are definitely cheat-worthy. Also, WDW trips.

I am not a fan of cardio either, but I find headphones and plugging into the TVs that they have mounted about their cardio equipment really helps. I am a bit on the competitive side, too, and I have a few coworkers who go at lunch, which adds a bit of friendly competition.

I am not entirely sure what has planted my feet so firmly on the wagon lately. Maybe I am just sick and tired of being fat... it seems that not being fat anymore is my goal above all else, hunger, tiredness, temptation. I remember being 150 lbs and feeling good about myself, and I really want that feeling again.

Sounds like the exact ring DH almost got. We got scared away by the tungston/titanium since you can't size it. I was afraid he would lose/gain weight and be SOL. They were super cheap though...like $250. If I were you I would pay the extra to have it fixed. You can't replace sentimental value. :bride:

Anyways, Dismom emailed me and told me to hop on here because someone is planning their first trip to NY...I AM SOOOOO JEALOUS!!!

Who knew that I would create an attraction! It's actually not my first trip to NY... I've been up for a bunch of day trips and one overnight 11 or 12 years ago. I'm just going as the chaperone... :)

Anyways :welcome:!!

EBAY! Great idea! I know alot of those people buy in bulk and re-sell so I may get a good deal there. As long as they have a return policy I will consider that...in case it shows up and is made of tin foil or something :rotfl:

For some reason this just made me think about 2 weeks from now when I will be gone for my sisters wedding. I will be peepless!! I will be staying with my grandma and she has dial up :scared1: And I cant use it during the day time because her house phone rings off the hook most the day. She is pretty much command central when we are there. I will have to try to check in at night. I hope I can stay strong without you guys!

Ok Melinda I have a quesiton about this formula, how successful is it?? How long does it take at that rate of intake??
It works really well. I switched to it a few weeks back and I have been pretty much steadily losing each week from then on. In fact, the number it gave me seemed like too much food so I dont always even hit that number some days...if I have made good choices during the day that is. Funny how those good foods have so much less calories in them ;)

I know...but we only paid about $150 for it to start with at a Zales outlet. (It would have normally been closer to $500) And they are telling us close to $300 to fix it because they pretty much have to re-make the ring. No thanks. And now that we are talking about it, he tells me that the one he has isnt very comfortable. Oh well. I will still keep his first one and may some day get it fixed I think, but for now I dont want to spend that much on it if we can help it.

So, I added red to the headpieces...it looks better I think
100_6524.jpg

Then we spent the day in the pool :goodvibes So I have done well today on food by staying away from it. If only I could do that all day every day!
