DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 4

Sounds like a great plan to me! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

First, we had the Gwen Stefani concert, which was FAN-freakin'-TASTIC btw! (Seats were great, she was great, and she thanked her fans for sticking with her through "...these two crazy dance albums. A No Doubt album's next!" to which I almost cried I was so happy!)

Gwen Stefani ROCKS! I am sooooo happy to hear that a No Doubt album is next -- my fav!

The week after that is Fair week, and my Mom is heavily involved with that, so we'll spend some time there. (DH and I used to both be on the board as well and were the talent show directors, but gave that up due to time constraints.)

That wouldn't be 4-H Fair would it???

I am getting my hair cut (and possibly color touched up) tonight, but I really want to ride my bike tonight, so hopefully I'll have time. But who knows? (I drive about 30-40 minutes each way to get to my stylist.)

My stylist is an hour and 20 minutes away... she's near where I grew-up and I refuse to go to anyone else. Did once and :scared1: about covers it -- the tears just weren't worth the convenience. I get to see her on Sat :woohoo: :cool1: :woohoo: for cut, color, and high lights (darn grey hairs started EARLY for me).

Smiles!

My grey hairs started early too... at 17!! I am 31 now, so lots of years of coloring. Not only that, I have naturally dark brown hair, so it shows up like crazy. I am probably 50-70% grey, based on root growth. I have given up on salon coloring, since I have to do it every 5 weeks. I use L'Oreal Excellence Creme 5RB. Adds in the auburn, but somehow that works better with my extremely pale skin and blue eyes much better than the dark brown I was born with. I even have to dye my eyebrows, which are also grey.

Lynda, sounds like your summer is going to be super-fun! I love summer too, always seems to give me more energy.

I leave next Tues for NYC and would really like to be down a total of 25 or 26 before I leave. That way if I gain a lb or 2, I won't be that far off track. I won't sweat it if I'm not, but it would be nice. Now for the on-vacat food plan. 1. Absolutely no sugary or alcoholic drinks -- water, unsweet tea, and diet cola for me. 2. Breakfast must be HEALTHY and low cal. -- preferably including a whole grain (although I might break this one morning for a hot NY bagel :rolleyes1 ) 3. I will have grilled chicken on salad w/ oil and vinegar type dressing (or equiv) for either lunch or dinner each day. 4. I will pass up the bread plate at least once a day. 5. I will "splurge" on something each day so I don't feel deprived. 6. I will not count calories while I am away, but I will make the healthiest choice available.

NYC is a great vacation! I live about 90 minutes north of the city and we make occasional road (or train) trips down! What are your plans for the time you will be there? We are actually going down to the city Friday to see Beauty and the Beast! But I am hoping to head back down before it gets ridiculously hot to visit the Bronx Zoo.
Also- I love your vacation food plan- you have inspired me to set rules for myself about what to eat and what not to eat in Walt Disney World. I know for sure that my rule #1 will include bringing breakfast bars to eat in the morning instead of wasting calories (and money since we are on the DDP) on greasy or buttery foods. :thumbsup2

WARNING: If you are sick of all of the Sopranos talk, just skip this post completely!
So I'm going back to my original theory that nothing happened. All of these minor characters were put in this final scene to add drama, and to illustrate how even the most mundane, ordinary people can seem threatening when you live the life that Tony lives. You never know if the next person who comes in that door is there to take you out.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Disney and Weight Loss discussions.

I agree with you- take it for what it is- just nothing. I can't say I am not bummed but I do think that such a simple ending meritted all those crazy rumors because a big show like that should have went out with a bang NOT left open-ended for a possible movie. :confused3

Well folks, obviously I haven't been on that much since I returned home from WDW. I have a feeling this summer is going to be CRAZY! I think the September trip is going to be here before I know it because the weekends are so full here! (And I love summer and don't want it to end, so it will FLY BY!)...

...I am also working on my trip report, and I desperately need to get back on the wagon with exercise! I am getting my hair cut (and possibly color touched up) tonight, but I really want to ride my bike tonight, so hopefully I'll have time. But who knows? (I drive about 30-40 minutes each way to get to my stylist.) I have been being good with food, but I haven't been writing it down, which I should.

Totally jealous of your double Disney trips this year! (and love  your TR)
I am in the same exercise boat- I have been eating way better than before BUT I have to get myself back to the gym by the end of this week! I have to run next week as much as I can because I start my summer soccer league games on the 25th! Ahhh! I actually had a need the peeps group hug kinda moment last night reading our roster for the team! They put our shirt sizes on the sheet and I was the only XL! I would usually say L but there was a note that says that sizes run small. And there were still tons of S and M- I felt so fat and gigantic!

Goodmorning, Peeps!
I am really trying to keep up on this thread (along with all the pre-trippies and TR's that I am subscribed to) but I need to try a little harder.

This week has been crazy with work, trying to get stuff ready for the garage sale this weekend, and trying to finish our Disney World 07 scrapbook. I have been doing great with my eating but still not exercising. Maybe after this crazy week is over with I can start working out again.

I hope you all are having a great week! :dance3:

I am so excited for my WDW trip- this is how much of a nerd I am- I started my scrapbook already. LOL! :rotfl: I made pages for the airport/boarding passes/magical express... and a couple for our resort (CBR). It just passes the time for me lately! HaHA! Good luck on yours!

Hope everyone is having a great day! :goodvibes

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Last week I ordered a swim suit from disneyshopping.com and I just got it yesterday morning in the mail. I absolutely love it, :lovestruc it fits great and for once I think that I look pretty good in a swimsuit. Almost good enough to post a picture......jk. Here's the one I ordered:

58274M

It was $30 for it, a pair of flip-flops, and s&h. :thumbsup2

i don't have any food suggestions, just wanted to tell you to try to walk as much as possible. i ate like a king at disney and i only gained a pound. i think it was all the walking!

I have no worries when it comes to getting enough walking in my day! We'll be hoofing it everywhere (except upto the Met -- 60 blocks (would walk it -- cause that's what a peep would do -- but we are on a time crunch that day and I don't think I'll be able to get the girls up in time to walk...

My grey hairs started early too... at 17!! I am 31 now, so lots of years of coloring. Not only that, I have naturally dark brown hair, so it shows up like crazy. Ahhh.... a fellow sufferer. I actually found my first grey hair when I was 16 (I'm 27 now)... didn't start to dye it until I was 21 and couldn't stand the dullness of my hair. I dyed it myself for a few years, but my greys are STUBORN, so I started going to get it done professionally at about 25. A few months ago I realized that I was dying it so much that my hair was all one color and had absolutely no dimension, so I started getting highlights too. I stretch it to every 8 weeks if possible, but I am about 40% grey all over and much greyer than that at the temples and in the front (wouldn't you know)....

NYC is a great vacation! I live about 90 minutes north of the city and we make occasional road (or train) trips down! What are your plans for the time you will be there? We are actually going down to the city Friday to see Beauty and the Beast!

Katie (my little sis) graduated on Saturday from HS and the parents are sending her and a friend to the city for a graduation gift/trip. It's sort of traditional around here to go to Ocean City, MD for a week when you grad from HS, BUT there is lots of drinking, partying, etc. Thus, the parents said "heck no, you won't go." In order to make it up to her, they are sending her to NY for a few days to see some shows -- I'm the "chaperone." I don't plan to be too in their face -- I'll probably even send them off shopping by themselves for awhile. We're going tues, wed, thurs. We're taking a bus out of Baltimore to Manhattan (drops you off and picks you up right in midtown) and staying at the Marriott (I'm not paying, so whatever) on Broadway. Apparently we are seeing three shows: Phantom, Legally Blonde (who knew it was a musical too), and Mamma Mia. Thursday we're going up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, then walking through Central Park (at lunch time, so it should be safe), then having tea at Tavern on the Green (my grad gift to Kate). Then we rush back to Rockefellar Center to catch the bus back home... should be fun, but I'm betting I'll be exhausted -- they are 17, I'm not -- they are dancers, I'm not -- they are up all nighters, I'm not -- you get the picture. However I am SO looking forward to spending time at the Met, I've always wanted to go. Plus the shows and when else am I going to get the chance to stay at the Marriot??

WARNING: If you are sick of all of the Sopranos talk, just skip this post completely!

But I just can't let this go with out a comment! I have a few problems with this theory. (And trust me, I'm not taking it out on you. Just need to throw in my two cents and give a little different perspective on it.)

okay....i must say that you know WAY TOO MUCH about that show!!! :lmao: just kidding. i have a friend who's just like that with the sopranos. ray's into mafia flicks, too...he just hasn't gotten that into the sopranos. if we're home, we watch it. if not, oh well. his favorite movie of all time (besides star wars) is goodfellas. he listens to the soundtrack all the time and sings those old songs constantly and it drives me crazy!!!

I can't say I am not bummed but I do think that such a simple ending meritted all those crazy rumors because a big show like that should have went out with a bang NOT left open-ended for a possible movie. :confused3

they have to squeeze out every penny they can somehow!!

OMG, peeps.....wonder woman did me in today! she changed up our wednesday morning workout since only myself and one other girl showed up for class today. she wanted to try something new and figured it would be easier with less people.

first we did 15 squats with a 30-pound bar on our back.
then we did 45 seconds of step on both legs.
then we did 45 seconds of step on the right, then the same on the left.
then we did this thing where we stepped up on a chair and kicked our leg straight back, 12 times on the left and then 12 times on the right.
then we did 10 clean and presses (back exercise) with a 25-pound bar.
then we ran a little obstacle course she sat up.
then we did 20 rows with a 20-pound bar.
then we did 20 triceps dips on a chair.
then we did 20 bicep curls with a 15-pound bar.
then we did 15 push ups and 20 crunches.....twice.

then we repeated the whole thing over again.....twice (so we did it 3 times total). all of this was done really quickly with no resting in between.

i'm telling you......i was T-I-R-E-D!!!!!!! hopefully i'll see some good numbers on friday because of it!

Hey. I came across this thread via your TR (great btw). I have been trying to get into better shape for my July trip. I have recently started the Hip Hop Abs program and love it! I went down a whole pant size after 5 sessions. Great workout for entire body. Your strength training workout seemed brutal. Hope you get great results.

HARLEY - i need your help! my dad just bought a new harley and i want to get him a harley davidson t-shirt as part of my father's day gift to him. sounds simple, right? WRONG! i can't find one anywhere! i went to harley davidson's general website and all i could find was the outerwear stuff that you wear while riding. every other site i've found is for specific stores and therefore has the city and state somewhere on the shirt. i don't want that.....just a regular harley logo t-shirt. any ideas? i knew you'd be the one to ask! :)

welcome!!!! glad to have you. this a great and very supportive group. i've lost 21 pounds so far because of these guys! (well....maybe drinking water and eating better and exercising had a little something to do with it, too!) we weigh in every friday and you don't have to post your weight....just how much you've lost or gained (or stayed the same). hope we all can help you get into the shape you want!!! :goodvibes

I guess I should have figured as much- the last 3 movies I saw in the theatre were all 3rds... I feel like every tv show and movie is pushing it WAY past the limit these days. Well, I guess that is why I don't watch all that much tv. I didn't even watch the Sopranos finale :rotfl: I just read through this thread last night and heard a play by play on the radio. Sounded like the whole Paulie/cat storyline was actually pretty funny. Either way, it came, it saw, it conquered, ya know? The money makers got just what they wanted- days of non stop Sopranos finale talk.

Congrats on your workout! I am too new to know who Wonder Woman is- trainer or class instructor I am guessing? Either way you got me a little more excited about my kickboxing class this fall. I already paid up for the gym (my gym does not offer classes) and signed up for soccer for the summer but a friend and I are going to take kickboxing classes in the fall twice a week. Hopefully I will get into a little better shape and be read to kick a little more ***. And maybe, just maybe, I will get myself into such tip top shape that I can squeeze in another Disney trip next summer (I think we might go to California so DL might just be in my stars)!

Also, suggestion for your post on Harley-Davidson... maybe Target? I recently saw a Harley Davidson bathrobe there. And I have seen baby HD stuff at Kohl's if you have one. I am sure Harley can be a better help but I figured, while I am here... lol!

:goodvibes

Wow! You will have to give me full reviews of your shows when you return! My mom, sister, grandma and I are planning a nice girls day for later this summer and we are thinking of seeing either Mama Mia or Legally Blonde- so have to give me your input when you return! :thumbsup2
You will have such a great time! The Met is everything you will hope it will be! :goodvibes

wonder woman is my best friend and fitness trainer, anna. i call her that because she has the body of a goddess and has a 3-year-old and teaches fitness classes and it just an all-around amazing person......wonder woman!

this is wonder woman (the one in the middle with the light blue bikini)......

yeah......makes me sick, too!!!

i'm sure you'll love your kickboxing class! i've never taken one and i'm curious to whenever my gym decides to offer anything like that. every now and then me and anna (wonder woman) will drive down to another gym she can go to for free and we do a class called "body jam". it's a dancing workout and it's awesome cardio......and so much fun!!!

also, about DL, i'm really wanting to go there within the next few years. i was looking at the website and it looks really cool. ray wants to go to yellowstone soon, so maybe i can convince him that we could stop by DL while we're in that area of the country! who knows what will happen???

i'll go look at target.com now. thanks!!! :thumbsup2

WOW! Wonder Woman is soooo fit!

I know those ladies really work hard. I was in that world for 5 years when dating Mr. Orange Co. (for Body Building) back in the day (1980's were MY decade). He was Best Buddies with none-other than Shawn Ray (google him!!!!) I have even went out with Shawn once, no, I'm NOT kidding. He was too HANDSY , if you know what I mean. He was 17 when I went out with him. My boyfriend used to compete with Shawn! What-ever....I HAVE to brag about THAT! My 15 minutes of pre-fame!

I just went to the gym to oogle the BIG boys and If I happened to lift weights while there, it was all good. Big muscles are awesome to me!

Kickboxing is AWESOME!! It is a great workout and really, really helps tone and define abs as well as just about every other muscle. Plus you can get your stress out by imagining your least favorite person is the bag. The gym I used to belong to offered kickboxing, but they got bought out, my membership lapsed, and when I went to join back up the fees were MUCH higher and no more kickboxing. And I just can't justify adding a class fee to my gym and hockey fees.

punkin, that workout sounded brutal! Bet it will really pay off though!

Welcome abordelon!! I am pretty new to this thread too (about 2 mos) and it can be really high volume, so don't ever think that we aren't reading your posts!!

We are thinking of going in either Jan 2010 or Jan 2011. Silly sounding eh? We just really want to go but it's high DVC points. We figure we will only need half the nights we usually stay for.
Ray shouldn't miss Yellowstone. I did a 6 week cross country trip in 99 and it was the best time of my life!!! I wish I was in a position to do it again. (Hey..I do have this summer off!! Who's in?? :rotfl: )

Hi peeps! Crazy day here today and yesterday....we are in the midst of wedding preparation for my sister. She has less than 2 weeks left now and we have so much to do! So I admit to skimming the last few pages. Lucky for me, I dont watch the Sopranos, so there were quite a few posts I could skip ;)

Today has been spent making flower girl headpieces. I think they came out pretty cute, if I do say so myself! Here are some pics for you all of my supermodel showing them off. I could not get her to take a 'nice' picture, they all came out like she was a mini Paris Hilton :rotfl: I made them with fake flowers hot glued onto a hoop people use for embroidery. (they were the right size and 2 for $1!)

I may still add some red streamers on the back if I have enough red after making the bows...to help offset the pearl sreamers. They sort of blend in.

Off to try to make dinner!

This line of reasoning totally made me laugh out loud. Yellowstone and DL are sort of on the same side of the country but still pretty far apart:lmao: . Although if your hubby is anything like mine you will be able to talk him into it. When we drove to DW last year we stayed pretty much in the southern states on the way from Wyoming to Florida but came back through WISCONSIN-no not Southern Wisconsin:rotfl: , we were in Sheboygan:rolleyes1

Your headpieces are so pretty:goodvibes You are so talented.

By the way, my name is Tammy- I am a newbie to this group.
Thanks :goodvibes

WELCOME! I think there may have been one other new peep I missed too...so welcome to all the new peeps! :cheer2: I love this threrad...keeps me on track and I have a place to confess when I fall off the wagon ;)
