We are off to take DD to see a movie today. She has been very good this week and she earned it. Which means that we now have to sit through it too though. Going to see Surf's Up. Hope it is at least toleable. i will try to be a good peep and resist the popcorn, but I cant make any promises ;)

Let us know how the movie is. My kids want to see it so I'll probably take them next week during vacation. I just need to know if I should take a tylenol p.m. before it starts for a power nap.:rotfl2:

we just got back from the grocery store and to my horror DH put strawberry cake mix and cream cheese icing in the cart. as i type he is now making strawberry/cream cheese cupcakes. :headache: i'm usually not tempted at all by sweets, but cream cheese icing.......YUM!!!! must.....resist......the icing....:scared:

Thanks everyone! I love making them. I was sort of happy when she changed the plans to something harder than just the plain barbie cakes. I like to have a challenge. I wish I could have a business doing it, but in TX there are TONS of rules to doing that from your home and I could never afford to open a place of my own. At least not now. So, for now I will do them for anyone who asks and take money for them if they want to pay me. Otherwise it is good practice.

Saw it last night...it was actually really good!! :thumbsup2

It was actaually not half bad...I was pleasantly surprised. The previews didnt make it look that good, so I was nervous. There were definitely a few parts that Dh and I thought were more funny because it was something only an adult would 'get', but I like when they do that in kids movies.

Then we went to the park, which was a mistake. HUMID is the word of the day here. DH seems to be immune to it, while I had sweat dripping down my legs. EWWW. Off to take another shower!

Your fitness is amazing! :thumbsup2 Have fun at the water park.

You made my whole day!! :yay:

The water park was very fun. A bit crowded, and we got a later start than we wanted (didn't leave the house until 10:30), but overall a nice day. I may have a few more bruises than when I started... a lot of those slides are for much younger thinner folk! But I don't care, my fat white behind went down them anyhow.

We were good... brought a picnic lunch of lowfat turkey sammiches, fruit, and wow chips. Dinner was a fat free hot dog, a wee pizza (260 cals), and a huge salad. I am still at less than 800 cals so I may treat with a glass of white wine later.

dance, those cakes are AMAZING!!

Hope everyone had a great and skinny weekend!

Good evening, Peeps!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! I am dreading going to work tomorrow. I thought I would love this job but I don't. I am going to still keep looking for something that I like. I cannot wait to move to California and when DH is in the CHP academy. I don't mean to whine and complain---so I will stop!:) I should count my blessings!:wizard:

dance-those cakes are so gorgeous!! My DD loves The Little Mermaid. I wish I could make cakes like that. What a talent you have!:goodvibes

Time for me to go watch a movie with Brent----I hope to be back tomorrow!

Sweet skinny dreams!:cloud9:

Hi Peeps! I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I am catching up on everything after being on vacation. Thanks for all the great dinner ideas. They all sound so good!

Dance-I love the cakes!:thumbsup2 You could definately do that as a profession! Did you teach yourself or take classes? I would love to be able to do that!

Does anyone else watch Bridezillas? I was watching a few episodes this afternoon. I get addicted to it! :happytv: I have been working on my scrapbook for my vacation. This is my first attempt at scrapbooking so I hope I am doing it right. I have three pages done! I think it is helping with the "my vacation is over blues". Tomorrow I am back on the wagon with WW. I have restocked my fridge and I picked up a new Walk Away the Pounds DVD. It is pretty neat because it has five different work outs on it. I thought it was a good deal at Target for 14.99. :yay:

i have a really dumb question. how does one multi-quote? if it's by copying and pasting the little "quote" codes, then nevermind. that's too tedious for me! i know.....how ridiculous is it that i don't know and i'm considered a "DIS veteran"????? (i think that just means i "talk" too much! :lmao: ) if someone wants to PM me directions, i would be very grateful. :)

Thanks for all the great dinner ideas. They all sound so good!

i meant to tell you this and i totally forgot. one of the things i usually do as far as dinner is i'll buy a couple packs of boneless chicken breast and DH will throw them on the grill on a sunday and use that citrus seasoning you can get in the spice aisle. he puts it on liberally. we usually have that for dinner on sunday and then i take the leftover and slice it up and put it in the fridge. all week i can use it on salads or pastas or whatever. it's REALLY good! just thought i'd share. :goodvibes

OK....I would like to discuss the ending to the Sopranos when everyone has caught up with it. Or PM me! All I can say is ***? :confused3

Punkin- just click on the symbol with the piece of paper and "+" sign for every post you want to include in your reply!! :goodvibes

Ok Peeps...I am very upset tonight. :headache: :guilty: I emailed my jerk of an uncle (who lives in Maine) to confirm times for my grandma's service last Sunday. I was told NUMEROUS times (and so was my dad) that it was Sat. the 16th at 11am. He confirmed this back in an email to me on Tues. Then today in the obit. it said it was Monday the 18th. I cannot take time off from work b/c it is my last week and also my boss's (she is a teacher). Plus, I do not get sick time and cannot lose the money. DH is in training at his new job all that week as well and BIL already requested that Saturday off. I am so pissed that my uncle would change the day off the service without telling anyone. I emailed him and have not heard back. I thought maybe it was a typo in the paper but my cousin emailed me today and said they were coming into town next Sunday. My dad wasn't even told about this. I am so upset. My uncle has always been controlling and I bet the minister was not avail. on that Sat after all and he changed it without talking to any of us. He is the one that did not come to my wedding b/c of words him and my dad had. My aunt is the one that gave me %$^* about not visiting my gma. Not sure if you remember them from earlier posts. So now I just don't know what to do.

good morning, peeps! hope everyone's having a great weekend!

my weekend-of-nothingness has been great so far. i've just been playing around on the DIS and relaxing.....okay, and i'll admit i did a little laundry, too. so it hasn't been absolute nothingness!

by the way, if you need a good laugh, go look at my TR (link's in my siggie) on page 29. i finally figured out how to upload a video to photobucket and i posted the video of our first time on ToT. even if you don't subscribe to my TR (which i TOTALLY don't take offense to!!! ;) ), the video is hilarious....at least to me anyway.

hope everyone has a good day. can't wait for the sopranos finale tonight!!!!! remember......no spoilers for the TIVOers and west-coasters! (i'm mostly saying that to remind myself! )

Wow Punkin! Those videos were sweet! We all gathered around and watched!

Dance- Those 2 cakes were soooo cute! How'd they taste? :rolleyes1

Eventer! What are you going to do???? Crap that bites! So sorry for all the stuff you're dealing with right now!

That is an awful situation to be in and I wish you the best of luck trying to work it out! (Crossing my fingers for you that it was a typo.) And as far as your uncle goes, there is surely one in every family. We have two... so I know how you feel! Keep ur chin up, hope for the best, and maybe something will just all work out in the end.

:tiptoe: I am behind a brazillion pages again!!! So I thought I'd just read the last couple pages and jump on and say HI!!!

I finally got the weight I gained in early May when my DD was visiting back off and hit my 30 pound mark. I need to get back here and read regularly because it sure does help me stay on track.

I did look in a couple times the last week or so.

Bee - So sorry to read about your dad's passing

 Hugs to Eventer too. :confused3 What is it with inconsiderate uncles??? :furious: I had issues with my uncle over my Grandma's service and the dinner following also. I finally just ended up letting it go, but it was pretty upsetting at the time.

the brand name is Durkee and it's called Grill Creations Citrus Grill Seasoning. we have put it on chicken, pork and shrimp and it's soooooo good! i've even put it in salads a couple of times. zero calories! :thumbsup2 although it does have 130 mg of sodium, so you have to be careful about that.

 how inconsiderate! like someone said, there's always one in every family. when ray's grandfather died his nephew (who was apparently in charge of everything) told ray's mother that she could go through his grandfather's house and get whatever pictures, etc. she wanted since ray's grandmother had passed years ago and they were going to auction off the house and everything in it. well, he never let her do that and she never got all the sentimental stuff she wanted out of the house all because he found out that ray's grandfather had $500 on him when he died (he died at her house while visiting for christmas - had a heart attack in his sleep) and she had used that to help pay for funeral expenses. it's just so petty and stupid! i hope maybe it's a typo or something in your situation. it just makes this difficult time even more difficult and it's pointless to act that way!

Wow Punkin! Those videos were sweet! We all gathered around and watched!

thanks! i was kinda disappointed with the gorilla one because it's so much more clear on our TV and it's so cool to watch them eat!

Thank you for all your kind thoughts. I have no idea what I am going to do. My dad said NOT to feel guilty if I can't go. My gma would be furious at my uncle for the way he has treated us the past few years so I keep that close in my mind. You're all right..hopefully things work out somehow.

I am going to call the church tomorrow and find out when the time was changed. Just so I have some info in my corner.

An hour ago (4am) I was running round the streets in my jammies  DH heard crackling noises looked outside and next doors hedge was on fire!!!!! It is a 20ft conifer hedge and the flames were right to the top :scared1: So after phoning the fire brigade we were waking everyone up, couldn't believe nobody had woken up anyway :confused3: The men got the hoses on it and it was nearly out before the firemen got there. I was standing outside waiting for the firemen and they stopped a few houses down I had to wave for them to come down, I was outside at 4am wearing my dressing gown what did they think I was doing other than waiting for them :lmao: Well it's all out now and theres not that much damage really but I can't get back to sleep so I thought I'd DIS :thumbsup2 Oh it turns out next door had a BBQ yesterday and chucked the coals near the hedge
