This is my first Friday to post. I am down 2 pounds~! Yeah! I have to ask you what the deal is on the swimsuit photos.

I am enjoying reading all your postings so much:)

The swimsuit comment is just a joke....we tell all the new posters they have to show us a pic of them in their bathing suit!! Of course we are kidding though! :rotfl:

Good job on the 2 pds. If you want to put it in large, bold letters next week it will help Utahmama keep track of our gains/losses!! :wizard:

I am SO thrilled that the posting of swimsuit photos was a joke! I thought it was serious:lmao:

Thanks for the tip about using bold for the weight loss postings.

hey ya'll remember me!!! weighin in DOWN 2.5 lbs and 1/2 inch smaller in the derriere i might add

Oh NOOO! Never shave "down town!". Poor girl! She shoulda used Magic Cream! ((Available at the ethnic toiletries department near YOU)) :cool2:

Disney Jo- Wax is best for eyebrows..Wax would reeeeeally hurt "down town". NO man is worth that! :lmao: I saw Sex in the City and NO WAY! :scared1:

My coworker is currently undergoing laser hair removal for her bikini line...says she's baby smooth...my piiece of advice..dont ultra shave and then go to the beach:scared1:

From what I have read, weight training is really the key to weight loss, toning, and weight maintenance. Cardio does help with endurance and is good if you have a lot to lose (me) and a sedentary job (me) and are training for something like running a marathon, walking WDW, hockey (me)... but if you have to choose between the two, weight training is the way to go.

I have also heard, read, etc. that women approach weight training the wrong way. Very few women have the necessary body chemistry to be able to bulk up muscle without chemical help (a la steroids). However, the myth is that women should do high reps, low weights, to "tone" and avoid bulking. You can get the same or better results by high weights, low reps and it takes a lot less time. They say to pick a weight that you can only do 5-8 reps and do 3 sets of them, with as little rest as possible.

Your pics are great btw!!

Hockey you are right in the money. unless you are taking mega doses of supplements and testosterone, a woman isnt going to bulk up. I have been hitting the weights pretty hard lately and I feel so strong. it is so empowering. when i started really trying to lifft..i could only do about 90 lbs on the leg press. and about 5 on each arm for bicep curls. now i am at 150 on leg press and 15 each arm. and i am not any bigger at all. I am actually getting smaller and things moving back to where God intended them to be. ;)

Didn't lose any this week, but I did start a new routine with my trainer - really hard so hopefully results will be coming soon.

Welcome home, Belle! Hope you had a wonderful time!

Yea, Lynda, an update!

Melinda, I'm still enjoying yours! I have a whole bunch saved in favorites and read an installment here and there most nights. I was so glad you mentioned enjoying the Voices of Liberty! Hardly anyone seems to mention them and they are so incredible! I could sit there for several sets and be perfectly content!

I get so frustrated with things like your whole passport issue. I feel like I try so hard to be helpful... why don't the people at FedEx who had your passport? Not only did they not go the extra mile, they didn't even do what they were paid to do... the service they exist for! It is just crazy and ridiculous. I'm so glad DD got to Paris and it all worked out so well!

Had a bad week personally and a strange week at work. Thanks for giving me a nice place to check in at the end of the day!

Same again. I'm 4 lbs. from my goal and having a devil of a time getting there. Once school is out I'll do it. I worked from 7:30 in the morning till 9 tonight. DH came over to help me print report cards and take down all the student work from the walls. He's a gem. I'm so tired, I didn't post any quotes, but :thumbsup2 and :cool1: to everyone who feels successful, and  to anyone having trouble. I'm going to bed. Just 5 more days of school!:woohoo:

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

So...DD13 is leaving tomorrow for camp. Ironically the camp is called Passport. Fortunately, she does not need a passport to attend. Also my mother is supposed to come tomorrow for a week! Since the girls are both gone, she is coming to help with the little dude. Can you just imagine what my house looks like after the week we've had here? I'd really rather be catching up on trip reports but today is TURBO CLEAN SATURDAY! And t-ball at 6pm. And bags packed for camp. Departing 6:30am tomorrow. And teaching VBS all week next week. Is it time to go to Disney World yet?

OH! And Jo! Thanks for posting the link on my TR from last Sept. Almost as soon as I posted the last installment, I took out some of the personal information and pictures of the family and asked Ohmari to send it to the vault. I just didn't want it lingering out there forever with all that stuff intact. Thanks for reading, peeps!

I have Danielle's WDW report on my to-do list. She always makes me laugh and I'm sure her TR is a hoot. The link is right up there in her siggie.

TINKABELLA SHOUT OUT! ....I know you're out there. :wave2:
:scared1: that was a joke! OMG let me go find mine and take it off!
How did I know that comment would bring you out? We miss you, Amy!
i just finished reading your TR, melinda, and it's great! you have a way with words that just makes sense to me. :goodvibes
I can't believe you read the whole thing! Thanks for your sweet words. I can't get caught up on all the updates that were posted this week.
I was so glad you mentioned enjoying the Voices of Liberty! Hardly anyone seems to mention them and they are so incredible!
Aren't they??? I just love to hear them sing. When they sang My Old Kentucky Home...that was it! The tears just ran down my face. I would never go to the World Showcase without seeing that show although strangley I've never been in the American Adventure...go figure.
I feel like I try so hard to be helpful... why don't the people at FedEx who had your passport?
Me too! I guess really I was more frustrasted with FedEx-proper who does not inform their customer service reps that FedEx Same Day exists! The reps told me that roughly half the calls that come in lately are regarding passport tracking and people need more information regarding the existence of this OTHER FedEx web site! The customer service rep on Tuesday night told me that people almost always have tracking #s that can't be tracked and the passport authority just lies and says the package has shipped!!!! (Wonder how many of those issues could be solved if the reps had knowledge of the OTHER FedEx?) The saddest part is I truly don't think the reps KNOW about that Same Day exists so they can give people that option!

I also called the courier service who had the passport. They actually got the package at midnight on Tues/Wed. She told me they had to wait for a new job order for DD's passport? What? She explained that they have to open all the passport packages to be sure that the addressee matches the passport in the package. DD's DID NOT MATCH! That was the final hold up. But. I still feel like if we had only KNOWN the package was in town, we could have done SOMETHING to get it in time via FedEx Same Day. Truly a comedy of errors.
Had a bad week personally and a strange week at work.
Here's a  and a double  for you, Nancy. Hope next week is better.
I have been up since 5:30am, as DH went for an angiogram this morning.
What a blessing they caught it before it was really bad. Did they put in a stint? Sounds like a new diet/exercise plan is starting at the DisneyObsession household! So happy DH is gonna be OK, Gayle!

You are just too adorable, Dawn! You are so tan too!? BTW your friend's little man is such a cutie as is your big man.
I'm back from WDW!!
:cool1: Welcome Home!!! Let me get comfy so's you can tell us all about it. popcorn::
I have been in cake decorating jail all afternoon.
 Been there! I'm sure the result was spectacular though. Post a picture!
I am SO thrilled that the posting of swimsuit photos was a joke! I thought it was serious:lmao:
I can imagine your relief. I have a hard time walking out on the pool deck in my swimsuit much less posting a picture of said spectacle of a public internet forum! Harley tells all newbies to post a swimsuit picture. Don't believe her! ;)

HAVE A GOOD TURBO CLEAN SATURDAY, EVERYBODY! :wave2:

My SIL did the laser hair removal. SHe would drive from here to Houston (I think to get it done) She did the bikini line and underarm. It took several times to complete, but it has been like 5 years and she loves it.

When I had a trainer or even when I would go the gym before I had one I was doing 175 on the leg press and calf raise thingy----as far as arms go I never got over 40. I have always considered myself strong, but that always made me wonder. I guess my legs were so good be ause I played soccer for 12 years and 4 of those years I was playing for 2 or 3 teams at a time.

HAVE A GOOD TURBO CLEAN SATURDAY, EVERYBODY! :wave2:

Hope your DD has a great time at camp. We leave for our camp on the 24th--I ordered all the shirts yesterday. So for now I can sit back until the 22nd and then panic until we leave. After the builders left yesterday my house looks like :scared1: and we picked up DS from BS camp last night. I started his laundry then by washing the stuff that was still wet. I opened his bag and most of the shirts I sent were still folded (he did have 2 two troop shirts). He did change underwear :cool1: and shorts, but somehow forgot about socks--I sent 9 pair for 6 days and he came home with 6 pair clean. He had 2 water activites each day so I knew he needed more socks. I cannot find one of his troop shirts--so I really think he wore the same shirt most of the week---oh yeah it was in the upper 90's with little rain--boy did my car smell good on the way home. Girls on the other hand for th emost part still want to look good at camp and smell good :rotfl:

Off to finish laundry and tidy up the kitchen again.

STACEY---speaking of camp --how did yours like it. We just got our last waitlist in yesterday.

You are just too adorable, Dawn! You are so tan too!? BTW your friend's little man is such a cutie as is your big man.

thanks.....you're so sweet. :goodvibes and i'm not usually that tan. that was taken the day after me and anna (the little cutie's mama and my best friend a/k/a wonder woman fitness trainer) went to lake lanier islands, so i had gotten some sun. luckily i don't burn because we were there for like 5 hours and that was the first time i've been in the sun like that for that long this year. i get that from my grandpa - his mother was a cherokee indian.

hope everyone has a great weekend! we're doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and i need that so badly!!!

Since this is my first week and I have been sick with an awful ear infection I decided not to wiegh-in quite yet! I know that is sort of against the rules... but if I lost wieght it might not be true loss, and if I gain it I feel like it might discourage me SO since I got wieghed at the doctor's a couple weeks ago when I got a physical I will use that as my starting point and do my first wiegh-in next friday! Hope no one minds!

Thats so wierd! My grandma's father (whom I never met) was also a Cherokee indian- everyone always says that is where I get my skin tone as well.

Not too shabby a week, peeps!

33.5 pounds lost!

(that's aprx.)

Newbies- How'd you like your first week?? I keep waiting for some sweet new friend to coax her DH into taking a bathing suit picture of herself and post it! So, we only let you believe it's what we do for a minute...you hung in there anyway not skeered away!

Eeyore actually did....but it was an oldish picture of her perched beautifully atop a jagged looking rock.

of course we don't mind! we're not strict......the rules are applied loosely!

yeah....i can see the indian in you with your complexion and your dark hair. my dad's side of the family was german/irish, so my maternal side of the family's indian genes were sort of cancelled out! i was fortunate enough to inherit the ability to tan easily, but that's about it! well, that and i inherited my grandpa's thick, dark eyebrows. i have to pluck mine every single day.....i'd have a bert (from sesame street) unibrow otherwise!!! :scared1:

yay for the peeps!!!! :yay: we rock so hard.

oh, i'd totally post a pic of me in a bathing suit from 10 years ago.....no problem!!!! it's the last 5 years that i've refused to have my picture taken while scantily clad!

I actually remember that picture.

Way to go ladies! Great Job!

That's about 6 pounds under my total weight gain for the last 7 months.:scared1:

We changed the baby's name, again, so for mine and my DH sanity I'm not posting it until she comes so we don't go through this again.

I'm baaaaack!

Is it too late to add another loss? I lost 3 lbs! It was my first week back to weight watchers. I have had a ton of ongoing health problems but will try to post more regularly.

I am sooooo missing you guys! My pc is still in the hospital and I have to go to DH "shop" to get on. Imagine this- I'm in Alabama, its HOT!! usually 79 by 7 am, and where I live we are 20 inches below average for rain this year, the computer that I can access is in a metal building, NO AC, only a fan- so my access time is limited before I'm sweating to death. Hmm? weight loss?

Anyway I was a samer this week.

I called Disney Dining back and was able to get all of my original adrs. They found a day for Hoop and Coral. So I'm really excited.

I am a swim skirt wearer. My problem is in the middle. Mid rib cage to upper thighs. Not much you can do to hide that area. I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and thought I looked about 5 months pregnant:sad2: If it werent so dang hot I think I'd get a girdle or a corset and cinch me up. My tummy muscles just dont have any tone anymore. So that is going to be my next focus- I may never have a six pack but I'd settle for a 12 pack or even a 24 pack.:rotfl:

Fellow dentist phobic here. Scarred from childhood I guess. I gotta go soon though- I have a loose filling :scared1:

DH and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary on June 7th. As I typed that I thought that I may have been married longer than some of you have had birthdays.

 to all!

Hi everybody! I have been driving DD(15) to and picking her up from parties all day....and I'm not done! She actually has 3 sweet 16 parties to go to today. The first was from 2-8, so she went to that from 2 to 4:30 so she could make it to the next one which goes from 5 to 9. I'll pick her up from that one at 7:30 so she can go to the next one at 8:00. That one is actually from 6-11, so she'll be late for that one! What a crazy day. After each party she comes home to change. The first one was casual in the girls backyard, shorts and tank top sorta party, the one she is at now is dressy, she's wearing a beautiful pink satiny cocktail dress. The next party is a pool party (swimming, not a pool hall ;) ) It's all pretty funny. I'm taking a picture of her before each party!
