my husband is just like you......he's 35 but looks like he's about 23. he gets carded more than i do and i'm 5 years younger than him!

Mr Kat shaved off his goatee last week and lost about 10 yrs... I am the one that always gets carded though, I will be 32 this year and I guess I look early 20s. That will get worse as I (hopefully) get closer to my goal weight, or at least it has in the past.

Well if it makes you feel better...they taste really bad.

(which is a complete lie btw ;) )

Hehe... thanks! They do look beautiful though!

I had a good day. I am finally actually liking my job, now that my teammate left and I have more responsibility. I treated myself to a 90 cal rice krispie treat and a glass of red wine tonight, which has me 50 cals over my 1200 but I think I can handle that!

Disney dreams everyone, and hope that lb fairy comes!

Welcome katelynsmommy! Glad to have you join us!

I'm trying to add cardio. There is absolutely nothing stopping me but me. I have time and access. I just don't do it. Why do I sabotage myself? It is so dumb! I have an "event" Nov 3, and I really would like to see a substantial difference by then. It is really important to me. Please hold me specifically accountable every day. Ask me if I rode the bike or walked on the treadmill! Anybody - everybody - somebody!? Please! And water!
I need to drink my water -

I'm going to ride the bike right now! Thanks, Sandy, for getting me started on it the other night. I've done better since then, but not good enough!

Wishing everyone a great day tomorrow!

AnnNan - Did you ride your bike or walk on the treadmill?!

LOVE the Simpsonized pictures (did I read right over where to do that?)!!!!!! And it's nice to see you, WI_DisneyFan! I'm back after a rather lengthy sabbatical. You do look pretty young to me!

Morning, Morning all!!

I had a successful day (health wise) yesterday! I ate well. Love that Barilla Pasta plus (protien, Omega 3s, Fiber) -- whooo hoooty for pasta on the plan! Also took two longish walks yesterday evening with the dog.

Any tips to get a "sluggish" metabolism moving??? I have a low core body temperature (and always have -- I normally average between 95.6 and 96.8 -- once even registered at 94). Read yesterday that a low body temp signals a sluggish metabolism -- so I'd love to rev it up a bit. (And maybe I'd stop being so warm compared to everyone else)!!

Here's the handsome devil who's been trying to interject a little bit of testosterone into the Peeps --

(Seriously, I am 30. No joke. I know it looks like I'm about 22, but my creaky knees and receding hairline tell a different story!)

And here I am Simpsonized --

(I don't know, but I think that might be an improvment!)

Ooooh, Hottie Thread Hunk!

I'm 27 and have been told that I look anywhere from 16 to 21. The world (i.e. my female relatives) tells me that I will appreciate it in 10 years, but that doesn't help now! It would be nice to be taken more seriously at work :headache: AND to have the guys my age realize that I am their age...:rolleyes1 . Anyhoo, I'm sort of hoping that in losing weight, I'll also lose that "rounded" quality to my face that makes me look so young... Of course being shorter than most sixth graders doesn't help one bit! :lmao:

She's one busy woman but always has time for her peeps.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MISTY!!!

Don't know why I lapsed into Spanish there, must have something to do with my enchilada craving. Happy B-day any way!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISTY!!!! HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!!!

I just walked into our family room and my daughter is watching Sponge Bob!!!! That show hasn't been on our TV in a couple of years! I guess it's in honor of your special day!

party: :bday: :rockband: :cake:

All right, after about 40 tries, I finally got to Simpsonize myself. So not only do you all finally get to see what I look like, you also get to see what I would look like if I lived in Springfield, USA.

I agree with MJMouse- you shallnow be known as Hottie Thread Hunk :goodvibes (You do look young! My H does too....we both do I think.)

Happy Birthday Misty!!!

I will 'take on for the team' and have some cake for you too ;)

Welcome to our new Peep! :)

:yay: Glad you want to join!! I love your siggy pics!!!

Another one from IL!! Disneyfreak (who's busy prepping to photograph her first wedding!! GO LYNDA!) is from Champaign area of IL - I'm from northern IL - (my 2 boys go to U of IL - so I got to meet Lynda!!)

Cant wait for you to come join us!!

I am indeed also from Illinois, as Sandy mentioned. ;) And I am also busy prepping for a wedding Saturday. But it's not my first, Sandy. I did my sister-in-law's a little over a year ago, and I did part of a coworker's in June. (Her photographer had a time limit.) Still a little bit stressed though. They all present new challenges, and my friend wants most of her pictures done outside, where it is more difficult to control the light.

OK, he needs to brush his hair (or I would do it for him), but something about that tummy makes me want to give him a big old zerbert (do you remember those from the Cosby show?) PLBBBBBT!

I remember! And I would LOVE to zerbert that belly!

:dance3: :cheer2: :yay: :woohoo: :wizard: :cool1:

Happy Birthday Misty!!!

yay!!!!!! we finally get to see what our famous male peep looks like! such a handsome devil! ;)

my husband is just like you......he's 35 but looks like he's about 23. he gets carded more than i do and i'm 5 years younger than him!
I used to complain about looking young, but then one of my older co-workers once told me that I'll appreciate it when I'm 50. That put things into perspective a little bit, and now I just laugh it off when somone subtracts 5-10 years from my age.

Hey this is so cool! Where's the bathing suit picture tho? For some reason I thought you were older.
Bathing suit pic? You want me to crash the Dis boards? And you aren't the first to tell me that you thought I was older. I think it was UtahMama who said that I "sounded" older to her. So I look like I'm 20, sound like I'm 40, which I guess averages out to 30?

I heard about the Simpsonizing on the radio. If you have a headshot of yourself handy, you can do it at http://www.simpsonizeme.com . But I had a ton of trouble with it. It took me a good 40 tries to finally get it to work. Fun concept, pain in the butt to use.

i just wrote a long schpeel and it got erased..that is how my day is going so far. :sad2:
i got locked out of my work this morning, and had to finagle a way in which included a pocketknife and a motorcyle..don't ask ...
Weigh in last night was DEPRESSING, i lost my bling again..i am so ready to stop paying the 40$ a month to WW and go at it my own....i'm really upset that in 10 weeks i have only lost 3.8 lbs! SO pathetic. when i did WW at home ( granted it was 5 years ago) i lost 15 lbs by now..i am going to give it another week, and really step up the activity and if i don't see big time results i am just cancelling my membership and doing it on my own. grrrrrrr so aggravated :headache:
Sorry for the rant...i just really feel like i will NEVER drop this weight.

on to nicer things:
Happy birthday Misty :)--hope its a great one!

and i loved the Simpsonized peeeps..very cute!

I have a low body temperature too. However, I am much taller than a 6th grader (5'8).

I have a few comments, and you can take them as my two cents, okay? I think WW is a good program, but I also think that you can do it on your own. Personally I would take the $40/month and use it for a gym membership, or if you already have one, a few personal training session.

I use sparkpeople for my tracking and this thread for my weigh-in and encouragement. I am doing 1200 calories as tracked on sparkpeople, a lot of cardio (avg 30 min a day 5 days a week), drinking 64 oz of water, and taking Mega-T Green Tea w/ hoodia twice a day.

I think that tracking 1200 allows for the possibility that 100-200 extra calories may be sneaking in on me, a piece of fruit or serving of veggies larger than I am deciding that it is, or that the packaging nutritional info is off slightly.

I think that the water, the green tea, and the cardio are helping with metabolism. I hate water but I force it down my throat... I consider it metabolism medicine LOL! The green tea is cheap, $5 or so for 15 days, I suggest giving it a try... it does have caffeine, but I am super caffeine sensitive (more than one cup of coffee gives me the shakes) and it doesn't affect me too much.

I hope you don't take this as criticism, just wanted to share my experience.

Hey Kat --

Thanks for the reply (although I think that some quotes got smushed together -- some of the info was from me, some from MA_pigletfan -- not that it matters really).

I appreciate the feedback and have been following your journey for a while -- you're doing great!! I've actually lost about 36 (may really be 37 or 38 now) lbs since April, so I'm doing very well. BUT I see a big slow down on the way and am looking for some ways to keep on track and see progress. I've been trying to convince myself that water is a "good thing," so perhaps thinking of it as "metabolism medicine" will work for me! I have recently upped the exercise quotient and will keep doing so -- it's good for me AND the dog!

Thanks again! :goodvibes

Def. not taking that as criticism!!! I completely agree with you. i am cancelling today..i don't want to spend the $40 bucks a month on something i know i cna do alone...i appreciate your comments :)

That's what I'd of said if Kat hadn't already said it so well... :thumbsup2

I got lucky in the personal training area... our Y had a certain number of sessions that came with the membership. Seeing my dedication, my trainer spent extra time with me on his own, and now he's one of my best friends.

and (thankfully) there's no "story" that goes with this one. He was a very nice man. Unfortunately, I just wasn't feeling the sparks and our interests are just waaaay too different... so the search continues. (Of course, it boosted my ego to know that the sparks were at least flying for him towards me.)

I want a guy that is hot (to me), lives a healthy lifestyle with exercise and diet (or at least tries), is educated/smart/witty/funny, is positive and doesn't need me to "complete" him, is active and young at heart, and his idea of "travel" is going somewhere that requires either an airplane or a couple of days in a car (and a passport is even better). Sometimes, I worry that I'm being too picky. But hey, I've survived the last 15 years alone so I know I am a person who can be okay by myself. I really think I'd rather be alone than with the wrong guy. I don't want to feel like I settled for less than what I really want in a man... wouldn't be fair to me OR the guy.
