OK, I'm no Dene, but I have a great cable guy story: He was working on our living room TV. Then I heard him go to the backyard to work under the house. I took a shower, and DH had put the scales in the hallway:mad: . I opened the door and asked if anyone was around. No answer. I stepped out in my bra and panties to weigh and said, "Hi cable guy!" to be silly because i thought my husband was in the living room. :scared1: It was the cable guy in the living room, and DH and the kids were in the backyard. I ran back in the bathroom so embarassed. I am not lying though; we got free cable for about 6 months after that. (That was when I was younger and more fit, needless to say).
OHHHHH NOOOOO! How funny! A least you were covered a little!!! Free Cable? I oughtta try this!!! (I'd probably get a BILL)

my all-time favorite guilty pleasure is chili pies from there........soooooooo yummy!!! they did away with them a couple of years ago and i called to complain. now that's pathetic! :lmao: they replaced it with a chili cheese wrap, which is the same exact thing just wrapped in a tortilla.

I shouldn't tell you this to encourage your guilty pleasure, but before I had surgery, I would still order the chili pie even though it wasn't on the menu and they would make it for me. What I miss is there hot ham and cheese sandwich. Yum Yum!

Hi all!
I just ate my boiled egg and string cheese for breakfast (140 calories). Let's hope I don't get gas since I'm at work.
Didn't you all want to know that? ;)

Ann Nann- Wilton makes Mickey pans - you have to decorate them with the star tips in different colors. They turn out really good.

S. Poppins - on overweight kids - I have NO IDEA how to do it right. People tried for years to get me to eat better and lose weight - and it always just pisssed me off, even when I was 8 or 10. I was hungry and liked to eat and didn't care what they thought.
This is one thing I worry about having a child - how to encourage them without hurting them.
Also, what if they are stupid? :confused3 I'm sort of kidding on the stupid bit.

Exactly what the heck is an overpayment coordinator?

hubba hubba PUnkin - you look too cool to hang out with me!!

whatever!!! all the peeps here are WAY COOL!!!!!!!!! and i'm not cool....i'm a true dork!

 to you about the little girl in your neighborhood that was shot. that's awful! i hope she's going to be okay. i saw on montel williams one time a story about a guy who was cleaning his gun in his apartment one night and it accidentally fired into the wall. he didn't think anything about it and found out later that it went through the wall and shot the woman in the next apartment while she was sleeping. she survived, but was paralyzed. crazy stuff! :sad2:

Okay, I got up to 1400 calories last night w/ wine and wee cupcakes, so I am good for yesterday.

I am not a planet of the apes fan, just picked up d* dirty from DH and liked the sound of it!

Today's plan is leftover chicken liver (200) and potatoes (100) for lunch. Dinner is a 260 cal mac&cheese/salisbury steak WW meal. Exercise is 1.5 hours of ice hockey.

So I am at 560 cals... I have to make up the other 840-940 somehow. I think I am going to go buy some fruit and veggies and a yogurt at lunch, should get me up another 200 or so. I might indulge and eat half a Krispy Kreme (100 cals), but I am going to try and pass on that. I think I will keep the extra for a snack and a few beers after hockey.

Someone who sits on the DIS all day? ha. Not really, I'm just having a hard time getting started this morning.
We made a lot of changes company wide and one of those is how we handle refunds due to insurance companies. I have to enforce the new rules and keep up with all the refunds done to report to the government on an annual basis.
My assistant disappeared two weeks ago, so I need to hire someone.
Any takers?

where in nashville are you (if you don't mind me asking)? i'm from there and my entire family still lives there. my sister (who has a degree from belmont in biochemistry and molecular biology and is taking a year to goof off before going to graduate school, which she totally deserves) is a bartender/server at PF chang's on west end and my brother (who is a very talented drummer and is "finding himself") is a server at ted's montana grill on west end. i was born and raised in gallatin, just north of nashville.

Celery! I have noticed the OM thread is DEAD lately and just come here mostly. Here and the Napoleon Dynomite thread. And TR's.

I am floating with all this water I'm drinking. I slosh when I walk. Slalk. :lmao:

I have no menu plans today. I haven't gotten paid in a while so the pantry is barren. I usually have to plan ahead because I STILL dont have a microwave (after DS18 caught it on FIRE in February!) Probably should thaw something.

I'm in the mood for veggies and chicken. And a salad. I am soooo on-track lately! September is my motivation!!!

c'mon peeps.......where are all your pretty (and handsome for you guys) faces??????? i wanna see pictures!!!!! :magnify:

HERE Punkin!!!! My Crusty face!!!! (For not being able to ride the carousel a third time) LOL!!!!!

Okay I will post one, big as it is. This is from my wedding in May '05, at about 175 lbs (roughly 20 thinner than current):

My day went a bit like this: I read the employment section in the paper, checked out a few education sites on the internet. Went to work and told them I had to leave at my normal time so I could go to DH's MRI follow up. Got busy, barey drank anything, almost got cussed out by the boss (it was his fault, the man can only communicate when he's angry, then he's a bear to deal with.....)Rushed to finish my work and meet DH. MRI shwed 3 levels of disk degeneration and a herniated disk........ Now we need to talk to the surgeon about getting it fixed. We are penciled in for early June, if the Dr wants to go to surgery. Didn't have lucnh so we stopped at Nothing but Noodles. I had 1 mozzerella bread stick and half of my pasta. But I got in trouble with the cotton candy....... I ate 2/3 of the big bag they make for take out. I should be embarrassed. I had a salad for dinner, very small, like 1 pt since DD #1 made it and put a few too many fake bacon bits on it. I DISsed (had to check out the TF thred since I saw lots of refferences and new tags! Woo Hooty JO! I want one too....) and watched a movie. I made popcorn and ate most of the bag by myself. That brings me to now.....

No exercise, ate way too much junk and I feel like a bum.... Dh wants to help me burn a few calories; I may have to take him up on the offer.;)

Nighty night!
WOW, what a day! Good luck to your H with the surgery. And dont beat yourself up over the cotton candy. It has very little fat, so that is good, right?!

Any good ideas for the best way to make a Mickey Mouse birthday cake - or a favorite one? My nephew is having his 5th birthday right before our WDW trip. I think I decided to make a cake myself instead of ordering, but I don't decorate cakes! But I want to do this one. Can I do it? I know there are some experts here. Opinions, please.
You can do it!! The character cake pans they sell are very easy to use. You probaby only need one icing tip- a star tip, and there are directions on the pan itself as to how to do it. You can check out www.cakecentral.com too. they have a photo gallery where you search by theme. And their message boards are very helpful if you try to do the cake yourself, which you totally can!

Dance - how's your dd sleeping? DD is NOT sleeping, she was up till 2am - one thing for sure, she'll make a great babysitter!! :rotfl2:
Not much sleep here either. She has been up probably 4 out of the past 7 nights. For no reason usually. Last night at 2 am it was because her favorite blanket she sleeps with was too warm. She likes cold blankets, and I have to admit she probably gets that freaky preference from me. And even though she is not getting enough sleep, she is refusing a nap and getting up as soon as the sun does :sad2:

I have no menu plans today. I haven't gotten paid in a while so the pantry is barren. I usually have to plan ahead because I STILL dont have a microwave (after DS18 caught it on FIRE in February!) Probably should thaw something.

I'm in the mood for veggies and chicken. And a salad. I am soooo on-track lately! September is my motivation!!!

Food preparation tip for ya- you can thaw meat (or anything really) fast in a sink of COLD water. I know it may sound odd, but it works and is safer for the food. I cant believe yo ustill ahvent gotten a new microwave! I would be lost without mine!!

Today is off to a good start despite the lack of sleep. DD is at preschool, I went to pilates class at the gym this morning for the first time in a long time (ouch) and now I am ready to get lunch and wait for my new 'kids' to come over this afternoon.

I will find a pic to resize and then fill out the profile thingy. :goodvibes

Occupation: Quilter/Designer - Family Photo Quilt
Personal: Married w/ 3 kids 17, 15, & 12 My oldest daughter, Jordan is graduating next month. Where did the time go?!?
Total weight to lose from starting point: 50
Progress so far: 12
Method: Not much of a method yet. Still working on a routine. Trying to cut down on Cheetos  and Pepsi! (I still have weak moments :sad2: )
Exercise: Walking 3x week outside or on treadmill. I'm also up and down the stairs about 50x a day because my art studio is in my basement!
Best tip: Don't give up. If you really want to lose weight, it will happen. You just have to keep trying. We all know when we're not being honest with ourselves about how much effort we put into losing weight. It takes a daily commitment over a LONG period of time to really be successful.
