So glad it helped you! I really wish I could remember who posted that originally! Let us know how the signs work out for you, K? :

My husband opened the refrigerator...then the cabinets last night and started:rotfl:laughing. He laughed, but thought it was a great idea. Doing ok today....could do better though.:rolleyes1

Oh another random - and I do mean random - thought on dog feet. If you have a dog, smell their feet. Seriously. Go smell them. They smell like Frito's right? Or some kind of chip? My mom thinks I'm nuts and refuses to do it, but one day I googled it and there were tons of sites talking about it - something with their sweat combined with dirt, etc. makes their feet smell like fritos. Ummm...anyway... :rolleyes1

QUOTE]

That is the funniest thing I have ever heard! :rotfl2: My DBF is always telling me random things smell like other things and I just laugh!

I forgot to mention that I did indeed smell Jasper's paws last night! (DH refused - something about her walking where she poos. :confused3 :rotfl: ) But guess what? They DO sorta smell like Fritos or Doritos, or something of that nature! :rotfl2: Very weird! :rotfl:

I can't wait to get home and smell my dogs feet....I can count on more wierd looks from my children, I am sure.

Wow! Another double B-day! What are the odds!? I guess our Peeps numbers are growing! :thumbsup2

 Welcome to the newbies!!!

:rotfl: That's funny! When I told DH about it after I read it the first time, he kinda rolled his eyes at me, bu the did agree that it was a good idea. If I had just done it without telling him, he probably would have been like "What?!?", then laughed, then agreed it was a good idea. I decided not to actually put the signs up though. I just say it to myself in my head when I think about getting something that I really don't need. I LOVE the idea though! The statement is just so true!

And I tell you what...the longer I do this, the fewer cravings I have! Last Sunday was cheat day, and it took some thinking to come up with something I wanted that I couldn't eat any other day of the week! I ended up just eating more of the same things I would normally eat (a salad from Chili's and thin crust pizza from Monical's, a local pizza place that is THE BEST!) My real splurge was the Marble Slab (just opened so I HAD to check it out!:rotfl: ), and I had the smallest size there.

Are you counting calories or following a certain diet? I can't seem to pin down what is best for me. I do the low carb diet...lose ten pounds and then can't stand it anymore. Ugh!

wow! you peeps are amazing- I have been seriously MIA and yet you remember my birthday!!!

Thanks!

Twinkie news: My house is on the market. I have three preschoolers so I spend my time following them around the house putting away whatever they take out. When they nap/go to preschool I take a break and vacuum. Ha!

I have been eating junk food and NOT exercising at all. But I still lost 2 lbs last week- I guess constant dusting and vacuuming is better for you than disboarding.

I do lurk a little bit and I am proud of all the healthy changes you Peeps are making. You are a great group and I appreciate the encouragment!

Love ya bunches!
Happy birthday twinkers

:woohoo:  :cool1: Happy Birthday Twinkie! :cool1:  :woohoo:

Let me be the first to say -- you look great!

Are you counting calories or following a certain diet? I can't seem to pin down what is best for me. I do the low carb diet...lose ten pounds and then can't stand it anymore. Ugh!

I am counting calories. Here's a (somewhat) brief description of what I am doing:

I try to stay within 1500-1800 calories per day. (I started at 250 and want to get to about 170-ish, depending on what size I am at.)

I try not to eat after 8pm.

I drink at least 100 oz. of water a day. (Some mixed with Crystal Light or other On the Go mixes.)

I have my kitchen FILLED with "safe" foods - low fat dairy products (yogurt, pudding, cheese), lean meats (turkey, fish, imitation crab, chicken, pork), veggies, fruits, nuts, whole wheat or whole grain bread, tortillas, english muffins, SBD wraps & cookies, WW dessert items, reduced fat or fat free dressings, hummus, reduced fat peanut butter, sugar free jelly, you get the idea. This gives me variety so I don't get bored. I have lots of choices.

I avoid sugar! It does NOT do my body good! I have it on cheat days, and that's about it. (Unless we have a stupid food day at work, and then I have only a couple of bites.)

Fiber is a good thing! I haven't started counting it, but I do try to eat foods high in fiber.

Portion control is also important for me. I get what I am going to eat, and I go eat it. I do not eat out of the bag/box/container. This is HUGE for me.

I have one cheat day a week where I don't count calories, I eat what I want, but within reason. I have to keep portions somewhat small due to my heartburn issues. I usually have a dessert item on cheat days - ice cream, cookies, cake, etc, but not all in one day!

I have started working out for at least 30 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week.

I think that's about it. I have done this before, and it worked before. The problem - I stopped doing it! What was I thinking??? I don't know, but it won't happen again! I just feel soooooo much better when I am in better shape!

I just smelled my dog's paws, who just came in from outside where it is raining "cats and dog":rotfl: ......verdict is that her paws smell like wet Dorito's.

 :lmao:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I thought the same thing, so I just had my DD(13) smell buddy's paws. She says they smell like cool ranch doritos!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'll trust her on it!

Let me start by saying..... I BOOKED OUR DECEMBER TRIP. YEAHHHHHH. We will be staying at Por. Riverside for 10 nights, 11 days. I'm so excited.:cool1: :cool1:

I will start with the easy stuff first. My name is Mariann, I live in Wisconsin. I have 3 kids DD 19 and twin DS 10. I have been married for 22 years. I teach dance, music, and acting. I also run the Religious Education Dept. at my church.

Now for the harder stuff. I have been gaining weight for the last 22 years hmmmmm! maybe there is a connection married 22 years gaining weight 22 years. Last April I was at my doctors office having routine blood work. All of my numbers were higher than they had been. Nothing that needed immediate attention, but it was a huge warning sign to me. At the same time I was planning our trip to Disney. I was worried that I would not fit in the seat on the plane or maybe I would have trouble getting in and out of the rides.
So the next week I went to Weight Watchers, I stepped on the scale it said 284 lbs:scared1: , someone must of been on the scale with me :rotfl: I looked but know one was their.

I have been on WW since May. I also exercise 5-6 times a week. I have lost 80 lbs and have 38 more to go. I have committed myself to running 3 5k's this year and the Minnie 15k next May. I probably should be committed. :rotfl2:

:welcome: & congratulations on your weight loss. :woohoo: You're amazing.:thumbsup2

BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH?!? BUT WHY???
IT'S THE FABULOUS BIRTHDAY OF TWO OF OUR FAVORITE PEEPS....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TWINKIE!!!
AND
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANNNAN NANCY!!!

:cake: party: HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLS!:cake: party:

I just realized I am a "DIS Veteran"! :cool1:
When did that happen?!? :confused3

Guess I quietly hit 500 posts without noticing.
Well, WOOHOOTY for me!!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTY! I'll never get there.

I forgot to mention that I did indeed smell Jasper's paws last night! (DH refused - something about her walking where she poos. :confused3 :rotfl: ) But guess what? They DO sorta smell like Fritos or Doritos, or something of that nature! :rotfl2: Very weird! :rotfl:

Okay. Now I know this is sounds gross but here goes. Years ago, my brother had a friend who had the stinkest feet. His feet smelled like Fritos. It was absolutely disgusting and I went years without eating Fritos because of his stinky feet. :scared: Just thought I would share since I don't have a dog to smell. :rotfl2: Not that I would anyway. :rotfl:

So hearing from most of your responses, I wonder what they use to make Doritos??? :faint:

Just kidding! :lmao:

Completely :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: at all of you smelling your dog's feet. I discovered "the frito feet" (or doritos feet) by accident really. I lay all over my dog and kissed her feet and then I smelt it  . I know it's gross in a way because she does walk outside "barefoot" and probably steps in pooh, dirt, or other bodily functions, but germs are germs are germs to me. I'm sure I get plenty, if not more, gross stuff on me at a lot of other places so a sniff or two of Phoebe's feet aren't a huge deal for me.

I think the funniest part is imagining all of you after you read my post, look over at your dogs and then back at my post, and then getting up to smell their feet :lmao: .

Glad I could offer some amusement for you all!

And, in case you were wondering, the 100 cookies are all officially done, decorated, and packaged. :woohoo: I'm not making any cookies again until Easter - but then it will just be for fun, some goodie bags of mini-cookies.

ok, Grey's is on soon so gotta run...
