Shocking... I'll say it again!

down - 2 #

and I've gotten on the scale, its not digital, so hopeful next week will be down another 2 and I'll be at the weight I was 3 weeks into this journey!! (Yep, I was a gainer... I will also confess I'm on a journey and not doing the yo yo dieting I've done in the past... maintaining portion control... I need to be consistent with water, and eating those FIVE fruits or veggie servings...)

and remember...

Diet and Exercise is NOT a punishment for getting fat, but a REWARD for getting healthy!!

Melinda  stay healthy! Have fun making quiches, hope you have an easy crustless crust recipe (The Frugal Gourmet did make those!)

Bradford The picture, you look different from what I imagined!! Stay the course!! What part of Wisconsin are you in? I almost asked if Bradford was your last name, I went to school with Vicki Bradford...

Dawn Take care of yourself!!

Dismom WTG :woohoo: Stay the course, stay determined

Stacey you too - you have to take care of you... dont beat yourself up, and dont turn to your "Friend" food!

Francesca Have you hit 100 yet?

Allie Where are you girlfriend?
(and that goes double for you other lurkers!!)
Fidge Have you gotten any mail? Have you heard more from the doctor? Take care!

Twinkie and Annan How was your birthdays?? Any good stuff to share??? Come on, we all want to know!! :grouphug:

jeri re hair removal, the talk show I listen to do a 'segment" and the more you shave, the longer you shave... eventually it stops growing back! They were discussing that... brazillian wax and underarm wax... (and I have to say I'd never heard of the brazillian wax until I started posting on boards, another... eww - more ouch... but hmmm? no dont think so!) and I have noticed my hair sure doesnt grow as it used to on my legs and underarms... my chin, dont get me started!! :rotfl2:

Stacey do rant away, the more time you spend online, the less you eat... right?!!

btw... DRINK YOUR WATER NOW PEEPS!!

and for exercise, just 20 min a day, 3 times a week try it - from You: on a Diet (google ) its www.realage.com its free, they have pictures, as well as a video on how to do the planks, but I do like the ab workout... come workout with me! Pretty Please??

Has anyone heard of the Secret book, video, talk show... bunch of hooey if you ask me!! I do think that they have taken what we know about being in Faith, walking in Faith... but applied the New Age techniques to it... now a columnist in our paper did a report on The Secret to Weight Loss you really have to lol...

Here, for example is Byrne on the secret to shedding excess pounds: "if someone is overweight, it came from thinking 'fat thoughts,'" she writes. "food is not responsible for putting on weight. It is your thought that food is responsible for putting on weight that actually has food put on weight... Think perfect thoughts and the result must be perfect weight" .. Food cannot cause you to put on weight, unless you think it can" She adds, "If you see people who are overweight, do NOT observe them." and here is Eric Zorn on the secret to shedding excess pounds: "Eat less and exercise more"

Yes, but that is the sum of the problem with that book/video... if you want wealth, or material "things" you just have to put it out there in the universe...

and my first thought to reading her brilliant secret to weight loss... "If you see people who are overweight, do not observe them" great, now I have to stop observing me!!

Actually, its the danger of gossip, a drop of truth filled with a bunch of hooey... the drop of truth is you do have to have a positive mental attitude... and that is "The Secret"... :sad2:  :sad2:

Just thought to save the Peeps some money...

Have Faith, stay the course!!
:grouphug:

My best week in a while. Down 2.5 pounds this week, for a total of (drum roll please), 15.5 since the beginning of the year. Which means I get some new bling in my siggy!

All in all, a good week. The weather was great last weekend and early this week, so the wife and I got in a mile walk around what will soon be our new subdivision on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday night were spent doing new-house related stuff, so no exercise on those days. And last night I did the 2-mile "Walk Away the Pounds" tape. But it was my wife's birthday on Tuesday, so we went out for lunch at our favorite Mexican place. And as her birthday treat, she got an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen. So I guess the good outweighed the bad this week, resulting in the loss.

Congratulations to all of the losers! And hang in there samers and gainers. Today is the start of a new week, which means you have a chance for a fresh start to work towards a loss!

Hi everyone....drumroll please....

I lost 2.5 lbs:cool1: :cheer2:

I did not lose that much in all of February:rolleyes1 I am 1.5 from getting my 20 lb ribbon.:woohoo: I want that ribbon this week so I am going to try to be good this weekend and that is sooo hard.

:sad2: up 2:sad2:

I told ya'll I fell off last week. But I'm back on track for a fresh start. I did 14 min on the eliptical and my round of weights for the arms and a mini ab routine- I dont think I have abs anymore- where did they go?

My diet is the toughest part. Most of you struggle with the exercise. I actually enjoy it- I get some quiet time- some just me time when I go to the gym. But my diet change is being really stubborn- I start off good and then slip a little and then before I know it I'm back to eating when I'm not even hungry- I had my cheat day last pm - the BOSS brought in Krispy Kreme- I didnt want to disappoint the BOSS:) I have been successful with the water- I had 56 oz at work again last pm. I have cut back on my diet drinks too. So I've got the ww stuff out and Im going to journal my food this week and see how we go. Wish me luck!

Morning for the rest of you- Nighty Nite for ME:yay:

well, i lost - 1, though i was hoping for more. but i'll definitely take it!!!! i just can't seem to get that 5 pound ribbon. but it's only my second week and i shouldn't be complaining. i've lost 4 pounds total. but i was definitely hoping for more because i'm going to a party tonight where there will be lots of food. now i'm still going to have to limit what treats i have.

congrats to all the losers and stay-the-samers...and to the gainers hang in there. just keep trying. it's only a number. as long as you're doing things to make yourself feel better and live a healthier life, that's all that matters!

by the way, i have a question. i'm kinda worried about gaining back the weight i've lost when we go to WDW in may (hopefully i will have lost a lot more than 4 pounds by then!). i haven't been in 15 years (:scared1: ), since i was 15 years old. so of course back then weight wasn't a concern. but i'm working really hard now to get in better shape and i'm afraid i'll gain it all back when we get there from all the food i refuse to miss! i don't plan on pigging out. but i WILL be drinking coffee again (which i've totally cut out presently). we're on the dining plan, so we'll be eating at decent restaurants. in other words, not all greasy hamburgers, french fries and pizza. but i do plan on partaking in a cream cheese pretzel, a couple of goody's from goofy's candy shop, a dole whip and some baklava at epcot. i just keep telling myself that i'll be doing a lot of walking so it won't be so bad. for those of you that have been since you've been dieting/working out, how much difference did it make? did you lose alot of your progress during your trip?

This is odd to me. Did anyone see the Today show this morning? You can also use lasers stimulate hair growth! So I guess it can do both :confused3

QUOTE]

I will ask DH about this when I talk to him later. Actually, you would not use a laser that is made for hair removal but one that is set up differently, there are many different lasers on the market.

i'm exactly the same way. i would exercise every day if i had time. it's the dieting part i hate!

eeyore,great weigt loss!!Love the quote...

WI disneyfan, congrats on the wight loss!sounds like you did have a good week.

Sparkie,I also have started loving the exercise part.It may have something to do with the childcare...anyway I was hungry all the time and having a hard time with my eating so I tried the pills that (Hoodia57)UM suggested and they helped alot yesterday.I have a hard time with my heart racing if I take stimulants and I had NO side effects from these. They are an appetite suppresant(sp?).

OK, here it is folks...weigh in day! So, following the gain of 2 lbs from last week, I am down 3.6 lbs, for a total loss of 20.8 lbs! Not sure how you wanna count it Wendy. Since I gained last week, I'm really only down 1.6 lbs from where I was the week before that, but my total loss IS 20.8. I started at 250, and now I'm at 229.2! Which means...NEW RIBBON FOR ME!!! :woohoo: Gotta do the new ribbon dance!

I STayed the Same

Hi folks - sorry I havent been here for a day or 4. Life is gettin gin the way of my dis time.

Eeyore I hae a coworker who really digs that kind of stuff, its okay for her, I do not believe that "the universe" has the power to create debt for me or make me fat. I believe that I am the responsible party and my choices
affect my life rather than my "thoughts in teh universe" nevertheless I have to endure an empassioned lecture about how I should not think this or that and how I should not let thougths control my existance. You are right tho Positive Thinking creates success. Besides if I choose not to look at someone how can I help that person (if they show that they want my help) thus how can I show them Christian love? So theres my $.02 on that.

Hi :wave2: to everyone else, I've missed you!

Stacy - girlfriend dont give up. I am struggling right along with you. I am not eating AS much but the choices I have made havent been the best and I could do better. Stick with us, lets me and you make up our minds right now. Today I will make good choices. Baby steps, one right after another will get us there. :thumbsup2 We can do this.:woohoo:

Gained 2 lbs!

I expected to be up this week after losing 4 lbs with the stomach flu. I figure it really could have been worse with b'day cake in the house for my grandson. However, I sent it home with DD ASAP! Out of sight, out of mind!

I was wondering with the Hoodia if there is issues with taking it when you have a thyroid condition. I am hypo-thyroid and am on medicine for it. Will the Hoodia do anything to that? :confused3 I think I'll search online for info on that, but if anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks!

Melinda...Hope DS feels better soon. Be careful with this flu, it ran through our house with 48 hr incubation between people catching it. Disinfect everything!!!
