Oooookay....here I am on a "weight-loss" board, gingerly dipping my toe in the water. I'm nervous about being here, because, well, frankly, I've kind of given up on the whole weight loss thing for some time now, because I feel sort of defeated.
BUT, I was out shopping for clothes last night, and noticed that my tummy is sticking out in a way that's hard to ignore. And I'm tired of it.
Also, I have a wonderful young daughter to think about and I not only want to be a positive role model for her in terms of healthy eating and lifestyle, but I also need to be around for her for a long time to provide for her, b/c I'm for the most part, a single parent (long story, involves divorce, 'nuff said).
So, I know myself pretty well after forty some years, and I know better than to utter the word "d-i-e-t", so I'm going to be taking baby steps here. Please don't laugh. If I actually get over to the gym and join, that'll be a good first step. Then I have to USE it.
My goals for right now are:
1) join the gym
2) visit once and find out how to do the weight machines (my doctor's advice)
3) buy a grill b/c that will help with making some healthier meal choices and my dd, Bunny, and I both like "meat with stripes" (y'know, stripes from the grill?)
So, here we go! I'm taking this first scary step of announcing my intentions! Glad y'all are here!
