In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 40:

60 Minutes Correspondent Andy Rooney (CBS)

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all. Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, "What are you thinking?" She doesn't care what you think. If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting. Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it. Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated. Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart. Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her. Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart, well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress. Ladies, I apologize. For all those men who say, "Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?", here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

By the way I stayed the same this week.

We bought the Fitness Center Monday and I have been there every evening this week to clean and organize but haven't spent more than 30 minutes all week on the exercise equipment:rolleyes1 . I am going tomorrow afternoon to clean behind the front desk then I will work out. Need to figure out how to use some of the equipment. I have been on the Gazelle-doesn't feel like I am working out at all so I'm not sure I am doing it right. Also going to lay in the tanning bed-need to remember to properly position the fat rolls:rotfl:

awwwww! Spongie just brought her new 7 week old cocker spaniel to visit! She's a wee-little 2 pounder!!! Shw brought her in a pink puppy purse and a pink collar!
I said Daizie's middle name should be "Duke".....:cutie:
She sooooooo cute!

Lynda!!! Holy smokes! You are on Fiyah!!!!

I'm a little green at all the losses, but I haven't given up at all! SO many of ya lost 2 pounds! As much as the puppy weighs!

JeanneTHAT is perfect!! I cut and pasted it to an email, sent it off to dh - but I let him know that I liked what I "picked" 30 years ago!! :rolleyes1

Couldn't post all morning... we were doing a "practice" test and I couldn't turn on my computer...

Thanks for all the Birthday Wishes!... and I am honored to have my birthday be "no cheat day".

Welcome to the newbies!

And... I lost 5.8 lbs this week... total now 44 lbs... and I am looking mahhhvalous. :cool2:

I'm sorry I havent taken an active role in my health, well actually I'm sorry I'm bringing the team down. I dont want to let all y'all down.

Thank you Lynda for plugging along, day after day - I appreciate it!!!

awwww how sweet!!! tooo cute!! :hippie:

NOW's the time to get in at least 25 situps, or at the minimum... squeeze the bottom cheeks... and of course... SUCK IT IN!!

and if you can, stand up.. raise your right hand high, left hand on hip - do not put any weight on that left hand... concentrate on that aspect btw!! now slowly, reach up and over with your right hand... tiny stretches. powerful side cincher - work up to 50 this week, 100 on each side next week...

DONT FORGET to get rid of the underarm flab, reach behind the back... palms up, thumbs toward each other - raise a little higher now, and slowly bring your thumbs together, apart, slower the better, the higher the reach the tighter the under arm flab gets -

CAUTION - start slow with that one, or you will so feel sore tomorrow - and you;ll know it works... 25 to 50 is a good start, work up to 100!! Do it every day now...

Under chin flab got you down??? NOW look up, open mouth, close mouth, hold it for a count of 5 - do 8 3 reps of 8 - 12 firm up that double chin!!

:cheer2:
We have a challenge going peeps - look how far Dene and Lynda and Pixie are running, Minnie Moo has committed her routine.... they are throwing down lifelines, are you going to grab ahold!!!

JeanneTHAT is perfect!! I cut and pasted it to an email, sent it off to dh - but I let him know that I liked what I "picked" 30 years ago!! :rolleyes1

Hotel in Goeergia if I told you some of the stoires from jsut stopping or my failure to research an area well enough (put it this way, they asked if I was using the nightly rate or HOURLY rate....I paused for a moment and thought....hmmm we could stay an extra if I could earn enough!! DH was not at all amused by my pathetic humor at a very wierd scerio at 12 midnight after a long day of driving.

If you lovelies knwo of any hotels off I95 S that will not be an hourly rate or have more creatures than my pets can find let me know please!!! My head hurts!

Jeanne! :rotfl2: That is great! I sit next to a 51 year old guy at work who was married to a 20-something who got tired of being fathered. Guess what age-range he's STILL dating? Some men just don't learn :sad2:

WOO HOOOO, Dene'!!!! What a wonderful birthday gift to yourself!!!!

Dene!!!! You are a ROCK STAR around here!!!!! You are the QUEEN LOSER!!!!

Eeyore- at least it wasn't +15 like ME!!!!!!! See, I'm here to help every gainer feel better....;)

Up +1 Thank goodness for activity and lemon water, or it would have been worse. So far so good on the no-cheat day. I'm sitting next to a pizza and not touching it. No time to read now, but I bookmarked it, and I'll read tonight.

I've been an absentee poster this week. We are busy getting our house ready to sell

me too!

Tiptoeing in.... Hi Peeps - remember me?:flower3:
Yes, I'll admit I've been avoiding the thread lately. I've just been so dicouraged and disgusted with myself, I couldn't bring myself to visit.

Me too!

Where's twinkie? Is Ellister all right after the storms?

If you peeps are lurking check in...I worry about you when you're missing. Amazing how I've become so attached and so concerned about all of my "imaginary friends"!

Sorry to cause worry! Really I am. You guys are wonderful! I have been trying not to play so much because I need to be organizing, packing and scrubbing. Also I can't keep up with this fast moving thread! Which is great.. but I feel like a loser (and not in the good way)

I haven't been trying to hard. Or at all. I was at my goal weight and as of this minute (forgot to weigh this am) I am UP TWO POUNDS. Yikes. I have noticed some bad habits (finishing my kids food, popping things in my mouth as I cook) rearing their ugly little heads!

So thanks for sending Moo after me with the wagon!

Happy Birthday Dene!

It took me so long to read that now I have to go pick up the kids.:moped:

I'm not over 40, but that is funny! :)

awwwww! Spongie just brought her new 7 week old cocker spaniel to visit! She's a wee-little 2 pounder!!! Shw brought her in a pink puppy purse and a pink collar!

TOO CUTE! I keep telling Josh I want a bag to carry Jasper around in, but he isn't going for it. :rotfl: Now that she is about 20 lbs, it might be a bit silly! Hey! I have lost almost as much as what she weighs! I need to pick her up when I get home to see what if feels like! :rotfl:

Thanks! I really needed it this week! I was so nervous when I stepped on the scale. And when I was seeing 228, 229 as it was calculating, I became hopeful. Then, when it stopped at 230.8, I got excited, and I actually did a little dance of victory in the bathroom! :rotfl2:

And... I lost 5.8 lbs this week... total now 44 lbs... and I am looking mahhhvalous. :cool2:

WooHooty Dene!

Is I95 the one that runs through Dalton, Atlanta, and Macon, or is that I75? I can't remember. DH and I have stayed at some nice places in Dalton and Macon on our way down to WDW. Usually Courtyard by Marriots. He used to get points for them, so sometimes it was free, or nearly so. If that's the right Interstate, I could give you more specifics, but I think I am thinking of 75. I am at work, and I can't look right now.

:thanks: for the warm welcome!

the low down on me:
I'm 34 fast approaching 35 and realize that the old metabolism is slowin' down fast! I weigh in at 146.4. Would like to see that number somewhere between 127-130lbs. Started yoga in February - didn't think it would be too strenuous, but what a work out! Trying the weight watcher program but leave for Disney next week. I think I will wait until I return to do some serious dieting. I'll likely put on 5-10lbs - doin' the dining plan. :scared:

Congrats to all those that are down! :thumbsup2

Due to all the bad weather yesterday, our youth trip got cancelled. The trailor of sod we were supposed to lay down can't be there tomorrow. At least now, I can come join in the fun! :cool1:

I gotta go now because I still have to clean the house for DS family birthday party tonight.

Oh, and his cell phone just rang. I ran up there to look at it, and it was a reminder. I gave birth to him 14 years ago at that moment. :) How sweet is that. My how time flies though. :sad1: 365 days from today, he will be allowed behind the wheel of a car to learn how to drive it! :scared1:

Today was a hard day not to cheat. My teachers friends felt bad for me and honored with the patience award for yesterday during the storm. They each told me how good I was with the kids and the amount of patience that I showed (I did not think that I showed any)--They made me brownies and some Monkey Bread for today---I had to sample each or it would have been rude--right? We are about to leave and I need to take the kiddos shopping for clothes for DISNEY----we are leaving in 8 days. :cool1: :cool1: I soooooo need a break.
