Ok, Dan bought me a cat Christmas of 1991. He was a short haired siamese.
He has been going down hill. He has always been a scaredy cat.. truly a scaredy cat. When Dan brought him home to me he was s little.. just a kitten. He has always been my cat.

.
:grouphug: I'm so sorry for your loss Bee!

Ineed some Pixie Prayers....

...

You can do it Harley!!!

can i just say THANK ALL THAT'S GOOD AND HOLY that sanjaya is gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!! what a freakin relief! DH couldn't even watch his closing credits performance....he muted it and turned up the new timbaland CD he was playing from his laptop!

I heard the hallelujah chorus when I heard he was "going home"!!!

Ok- I'm signing up. I'm going to start with tap. and maybe ballet :scared1: and the strength class. But I'm not going for the jazz or hip hop- Somehow I dont have the "booty bone" because mine doesnt move like that :lmao:

If I ever figure out how to post pictures on this silly computer- I send you a picture of the dancing attire:rotfl: Maybe that will meet the swimsuit requirement.

I did take dance when I was a kid- so maybe I can still count to 8. I love watching my girls and I have done some livingroom dancing with them but they just think I'm funny. Oh, well, Laughing does burn calories too. See you in class!
Sparkie, a couple of years ago I started taking a ballet class! :scared1: I grew up dancing and it was my life untill I got married at the ripe ol age of 18 5 months after graduating! I hadn't danced in about 12 years and I loved it! What was sad was it was me and a bunch of little 16 yr olds. They asked if I wanted to perform with them but I declined. I'd look like the dancing hippos from fantasia! :rotfl: A little over a year ago I was in a musical where I had to wear flapper outfits and tap dance.

I'm relieved my production from yesterday is over! It went great and the girls seemed to get a kick out of it. Our theme was mission possible, we used the theme music from mission impossible and had a "spy" skit. I was the head agent who had to deliver the mission's to the agents in disguise. My delivery methods included army crawls and a sumersault! I haven't done one of those in public in about 15 years. We also had a recorded video of our bishop in different disguises being the "bad guys". It was hillarious! AFter wards I was informed I would be speaking in church next month because I included the "bloopers" at the end of the tape!:rolleyes1

:woohoo: Winkers!!

DH came home from lunch and challenged me to get out there and start practicing for the 5K or 1/2 Marathon - -

who's with me????

I did my sit ups - did you???

Did we all get through lunch ok? I had a Lean Cuisine Mac n Cheese/Salsbury Steak. Dinner will be 2/3 C. of this Marie Calenders Crock Pot meal. It'll be fine if I stick to 2/3 C. serving size. 2/3 Cup???? What am I a 2 year old? I'll have to add veggies and a salad.

It's NAP time! YAY! My house is so quiet! I love it! Four kids napping!

I looked out my backyard window today and it's been raining for the last couple days. SO:

Rain+ Dirt= MUD

MUD+ 2 BOYS= FUN!!!

Fun+ mud+ boys+ 2 bikes+ 2 Tonka Trucks+ 4 NEW shoes= :scared1:

See Ya tonight! I believe I will indulge in a nice NAP!

Okay, jumping in... thanks for all the welcomes!! :goodvibes Warning, though, I am on the world's most boring conference call (in its 3rd hour), so this may be long and rambling. Oh, who am I kidding... all of my posts are long and rambling!

I was not terribly good for lunch... had snack size popcorn chicken (350 cals) and small tater tots (220 cals) from Sonic. I think we are going out to dinner tonight, since DH has a friend in town, so I imagine this is going to be an "off" night for me, sigh. As long as it doesn't start an "off" weekend, I think it will be okay.

Tomorrow I am going to spend an hour or so at a hockey practice for lunch with a co-worker who is MUCH better than me and another coworker who has only been on skates a few times. I may then head to the gym (close by) and do my quick weight circuit, but mostly because the showers at the rink are nasty.

I started skating/playing hockey 4 years ago at age 27. I had never been on hockey skates or played a sport before. That is actually how I met DH, he was on my team... back then I was thin, 145-150. We got married in '05, fat/happy, stopped playing hockey, and that is, well, why I am here. I just started playing again 2 weeks ago and it is rough going.

Pics in a bikini... doubt that anyone really wants those! I do go to the water parks at WDW, and if my shockingly white flabby body offends anyone there, well, they can not look! I wear tankinis which I think help to hide the tummy (maybe only in my delusional mind, but oh well).

I have found that it makes it a lot easier for me to stick to things if I can have small helpings of what I want, specifically fast food, and then supplement w/ a salad, fruit, veggies. My cholesterol is great (126 good, 80 bad) so I don't worry too much about fat or cholesterol content, just about calories.

I really like that LC UtahMama. I like their wee pizzas, as well.

OK - I DID IT :yay: :yay:

1 MILE -- it took me 25 minutes - but I didnt slow down, I did the "jog sloooooowwwwllly " route.. just to see how long it would take till I got "winded"... and I'm fine!!

I"M FINE!!! :woohoo:

I think I'll go do it again after I get dd... my ankle is hurting tho - 200+ pounds, pounding on the pavement is bound to cause some discomfort!!

WELCOME!!!! GLAD TO HAVE YOU!!!!

You will find this thread to be very supportive and encouraging. If you fall off the wagon, there is always someone there to stop and pull you back on or at least throw you a rope! ;) Seriously, this is the greatest group of people that I have ever (actually never in RL:rotfl: ) met!

Wow I admire you skating. My DS plays hockey, and I tried skating on the hockey skates once, and I said, "forget it, give me my figure skates back". I know that hockey is a great workout. I've seen and smelled:rotfl2: how rigorous hockey is.

Glad to have you with us! :grouphug:

Woooo Hooooty!!!!!!!!! Way to go! :yay:

I think I'll go do it again after I get dd... my ankle is hurting tho - 200+ pounds, pounding on the pavement is bound to cause some discomfort!!

One of the reasons this chicky don't run... that, and bouncing belly flab :scared1:

hello ladies!!!

 Hi Aries!! how's everything going??? Any planning today??

Woooo Hooooty!!!!!!!!! Way to go! :yay:

One of the reasons this chicky don't run... that, and bouncing belly flab :scared1:

Yeah, I hear that, but dh dangled a WDW trip as a carrot, and I'm bound and determined to try... and um not only is the belly bouncy bouncy but so are the bound in a sports bra :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc sistas - this sports bra is better than my old one... what I wont do to get to Disney!! :rotfl:

Allie ME TOO!! That's why I give Kat a lot of credit!! One year the boys wanted to give me hockey skates for mother's day, so we went up to the Petit Center (in Milwaulkee WI - great place to skate!!) and I rented hockey skates... and twirled around and around... I NEED A TOE PICK!!:rotfl2: I do love having my own skates, I guess I should dig them out and go around in circles!! :thumbsup2

im so tired I think all the late nights are catching up. That or I didnt eat enough today!!

Awwww, I love naps. Even though it was just a power nap, 30 mins. before one of the buddies woke up. I should still be able to sleep tonight. One way or another. I'm drinking water like crazy, my last ditch attempt at moving the pounds. Goodness knows I gave it some pretty good effort this week.

There's some good TV on tonight, right?

Tonight, if y'all watch tv, why not as a GROUP, do 10 sit ups every commercial break??? Or 10 whatevers? (as long as it's MOVING). If there's 10 commercial breaks, you'll get in 100 reps of whatever.

ALSO- Tomorrow is the GREAT 20 pound Challenge for September!!!!!

I JUST thunk of that out of the clear blue...ANY one interested??? How about SPECIAL prizes if you lose 20 pounds starting tomorrow ending at the meet. :cool2:

I am feeling great today! I think the high temps here are finally done dipping down into the 50's, and all the reminiscing I have been doing has given me some great ideas and great motivation! :) I am writing again. Both in my diary and some thoughts about what has shaped the person I am today. It is like my own little journey of self-REdiscovery  , and it's very liberating! And I am going to go back to my home church that is 45 minutes away. Not every week, but I want to go there at least once every month or two. I have yet to find another church to attend regularly that is closer to home, so I figure why not go back to the place where I grew up, my mom grew up, DH and I got married, and my best friend's parents still go? Even if it is only once in a while, I think I need it, and it will be great. Now, I do still have to convince DH to get up early on our one day off together : , but it isn't every week, so I don't think that will be a big deal. And between the rising temperatures, all these thoughts of my youth, and my upcoming trip to WDW, I am pumped!!! :yay: I haven't been exercising as much this week, but I have been eating less. I am a bit nervous about what the wicked number machine will say tomorrow morning, but regardless, I am gonna kick some booty in the next few weeks - for sure!

You can do it!! :cheer2: You already have been doing an awesome job!!:cheer2:

Can I join here too? I am trying desperately to get back to my pre-marriage fighting weight and I can use all the help I can get. I am down 19 lbs since Feb 6 but need to lose about 38 more.

I think a dance class sounds really fun!

party: :welcome: party: This is a great group!

That looks like a good one, Bradford....mmmmm chocolate!

Belle- we have a genuine drive-in too! I love the popcorn there, it's the best! DANG, carbs!

Ours has the BEST breadsticks with cheese sauce. Oh, my goodness!! Not this year peeps! By the way I saw a Utah license plate today and I thought of you. I haven't seen too many of those in IN.

I think he was starting to think he would never get booted. Who else was in the bottom with him??

That's where DH and I went on our 2nd date...to see Catwoman and Collateral. Both bad movies. Can't beat the price!!! I can't wait for it to open again this season!!

You're right..something is better then nothing. Ray just tends to take things personally when I just get bitter. As of today I am going to move past it...I am not going to mention it again!!!! I can't let them ruin my mood!! :goodvibes Have a great day everyone..this thread has made me late again!!
No crunches for me last night..I forgot!!! :

Blake and Lakisha were with him. We went to see Star Wars Episode 1. He is a fan. We didn't stay for the second movie. I think your attitude about the inlaws is great! Don't let them get to you!!

Good Morning Peeps! :sunny:

Belle...I use to love the drive-in as a kid! I think we have one here, but have never been! The lasT drive-in I was at was in MGM at the Sci-Fi Drive In!!! :

[/COLOR]

I have been to that one too!:rotfl: Awesome onion rings!

I forgot to quote, so the only thing I can remember is-
I love the drive in! We used to go all the time when I was younger and then they closed the only one by us. I am not sure if there are any here in TX but I am gonna research it. I loved those.

OH, and the bottom 3 were Sanjaya, Lakisha and BLAKE! I was shocked! I am gonna have to start voting for him I guess, people maybe just assume he is getting lots of votes so they vote for other peole. I love him

Your daughter would love going to a drive-in! I remember seeing An American Tale when I was little. Laying on a blanket watching outside was the coolest thing. I was surprised that Chris wasn't in the bottom 3.

:to all my cheerleaders... I think I failed... I became obsessed with binging and eating... its an awful feeling... hunger... I helped myself by going to the water, going for the apple, going for popcorn.. so the sabotage damage isnt too bad... its that feeling of helplessness... its overwhelming... I keep hearing UMA's voice of 23 weigh in days, 1# a week..

:

 You have not failed! You are strong and you CAN do this!

Also - my daughters dance studio is offering an adult class in tap, jazz, ballet and strength and conditioning. Do you think a 40+ in age and weight would look silly in that tap and strength class?- Not ready for the leotard and tights yet

I would do it! How fun! Especially, since I have been watching Dancing With the Stars. I would love to dance like that. I would say to go for it!:cool1:

Karen, You are so wise, I just love reading you!

I NEVER went swimming in public because, I was terrified to be seen in a bathing suit. On vacation, I'd wear shorts and dangle my feet at the side of the pool. A couple years ago, I figured I was denying myself a great pleasure for a silly reason. WHO cares if I was a 300 pound woman in a bathing suit in the pool or sunning myself. I would NEVER be seeing any of these vacationing strangers again. Now, it's like I'm a whole new person. I DO admit to wearing a stylish sarong around my danger-zone (thighs) but I think I look FIERCE for a mom of 4.
Nowadays, if I hesitate because something is out of my comfort zone (contact lenses for example) I'll at least give it a try and conquer the fear.

I have been thinking about the swimming thing too. I don't even own a bathing suit. I really would like to go swimming when we are in WDW. I am always so self-conscious. But, it is true I won't see those people again. I think you have inspired me to go out and find a Fierce :) suit! Maybe the kind that have swim trunks as bottoms.

denecarter;18228499 We have one here in Granbury! And you don't use "speakers"... just turn on your radio to a certain station.[/QUOTE said:
That is how ours is too. I like it a lot better than the speakers.

YAY SANDY!!!!!!!!!party:

Hi Peeps! It feels like spring! Today I took a mental health day. I haven't used a personal day yet this year and my husband had some time coming so he took off too. We went shopping and out to lunch. I stayed within my points!!:cheer2: I also got my groceries so I won't have to get them this weekend. I found some more low point items that I will report on if I like them. We had a really nice time. :goodvibes

No excercise yet today. I will take Utah Mama up on the challenge and do sit ups during commercial breaks. There are a lot of shows that I like on tonight so that should be a lot of sit ups! :yay:

But I didnt get my power nap in, so if I fall asleep...

10 situps for each commercial...

and you should add the arm behind your back lift reps too...

and maybe run in place then drop down and do ten more...

while I fall asleep!!

:rotfl2:

I have the bestest plans... I'm gonna try!!

Welcome - glad your here! Impressed with the hockey - very cool!
I'm thinking about that sit up challenge - I'll do it!
Have a good night everyone - work hard! We can do this!

I don't need to stay up to see Sanjaya booted, since people spilled the beans.

again, sorry about that. i will no longer refer to any tv shows on here b/c i'm on the east coast and i see everything before a lot of you. please accept my apologies.

:rotfl2: peoles = 'singing competitors on AI" :rotfl2:

Dance how was your sleep? You do remember my dd is going thru the same "phase" up till midnight, then she comes in our room about every 20 - 50 min crying, "dont go to sleep yet, I'm still awake..." we've taken to shifts... one of us stays awake till 3 am the other gets up at 3 am... a lot to be said of 5 hours of straight uninterrupted sleep!! Fingers crossed here, we've had 6 nights of peaceful slumber!!
Congrats on the good sleep!! At least last night we had some un-interupted sleep, but she still got up WAY too early. But, that means early bed tonight and early peace and quiet for me

I feel a need to defend what seems to some here as reprehensible behavior, but in fact may simply be a difference in expectations.
I have read that before too. I guess what surprised me about her situation is that this was the parents of the groom, not just average wedding guests, you know? I guess if it was a random guest or relative I would not have been surprised at all. But in our family we bring gifts to the reception so maybe I would have been. ;) Most the time it is 90% cards anyhow. I wouldnt have been offended unless it was my parents or a very close family member though. Those people I expect more from I guess.

Can I join here too? I am trying desperately to get back to my pre-marriage fighting weight and I can use all the help I can get. I am down 19 lbs since Feb 6 but need to lose about 38 more.

I may have to come to Granbury! I like it better throug the radio too, our old drive in at home was that way at the end too. Those speaker things were a pain.

Sign me up! I will do crunches...need to do something this week. This cold has slowed me down  I am probably retaining a pound or 2 in mucus alone. My goal is 50 pounds total gone by the peep meet. I am at 15 now, so 35 more...23 more weigh ins=1.5 pounds per week. Totally possible. :woohoo:

Oh, and I lost the quote, but SPARKIE! DO IT. You will love it and the exercise is fantastic. I find new muscles every week. We usually wear yoga pants and t-shirts, or short and t-shirts when we teach. You couldnt pay me enough to wear a leotard and tights these days.

On another note- I went shopping for torture device #2 for my sisters wedding, HEELS. (#1 was a strapless bra) I HATE trying to find shoes that dont kill my feel and are pretty. I am a size 10ish and it stinks. All the cute ones dont come in my size :sad2: Any recommendations on some comfortable black heels?

I feel a need to defend what seems to some here as reprehensible behavior, but in fact may simply be a difference in expectations.

I'm a bit of an etiquette freak, especially with regards to events (hey, I'm a conference planner, it's an occupational hazard. I was also once a bride and a mother-of-the-bride. Definitely comes with the territory as a MotB...)

Conventional etiquette (Emily Post is my hero!) says that wedding gifts are to be given within a year of the ceremony - and this may surprise many - are not to be brought to the ceremony or the reception at all, but should be mailed or sent to the bride's home before the wedding or the newlyweds' home after.

This logic made quite a bit of sense to me when we had to make three trips in two cars to the site of my daughter's reception - a three hour round trip - after the wedding. Of course, DD and her new DH were off honeymooning and never gave a thought to how all this stuff magically appeared at home for her to open when she returned! (I have to be careful, she's a DIS-er too...) LY, honey, MI!

ANYWAY--since my daughter's wedding I have always sent gifts - whether cards or packages--and sometimes MONTHS after the wedding.

And yes, when organizing wedding receptions, I do arrange for a gift table because I also realize that most people are not as fanatical about Miss Post's writings as I am.

I only bring this up because there may not have been any animosity--passive or otherwise-- on the part of those sending a gift after the ceremony - they may simply have been trying to send a gift in the manner they were taught.

Just sayin...:rolleyes1

Karen
I'm not saying what they did was "wrong" persay but they have been rude and CHEAP about this wedding since day one. It's hard to tell the whole tale on here without seeming like I'm making a big deal out of nothing. That's not the case. If their own son is hurt by their behavior (and he's a Navy boy...he's quite tough!) then I know it's inexcuseable. I realize they do have a year to send a gift but the things that were said when it was "delivered" were not ok. But we have moved on from it as of today but I am great at putting things like this in a lovely vault in the back of my brain....incase karma needs to kick in down the road. ;)

Okay, jumping in... thanks for all the welcomes!! :goodvibes Warning, though, I am on the world's most boring conference call (in its 3rd hour), so this may be long and rambling. Oh, who am I kidding... all of my posts are long and rambling!

again, sorry about that. i will no longer refer to any tv shows on here b/c i'm on the east coast and i see everything before a lot of you. please accept my apologies.

I've done the same thing on here too Punkin! I felt bad as well...I always forget there are other people in the world that don't view things when I do.

Our trial wrapped up yesterday, now the jury gets there directions and then it is in their hands. Glad you are seeing the end to your trial. We want to see more of you. :yay:

well, the jury now has our trial. they got the case today around 2:15 and we stayed there until like 5:45. then they asked to go home and sleep on it. so we are back tomorrow morning to wait some more on their deliberations. they've technically only deliberated like 2-and-a-half hours because they asked to watch the video of the shooting again and that took about an hour. so it's not bad so far. hopefully we'll get a verdict before the end of the day tomorrow!

allie - let me know how your trial turns out! ;)
