Um - Aries Im confused...I saw DisAmys post about us (me and her - she and I whatever) coming to the dinner, this is what night? and woudl the lunch be in liu if the dinner or in addition to it? We havent firmed our plans yet, but if you will include us in your number is easier to take away than add...I'm sorry to be confused...hope your day gets better!

I gained some over the holidays. This is the last picture before the surgery.

This is the first picture after the surgery. Surgery was on 2/12. This picture was taken 3/2/07

I have been a nanny, had a home daycare and worked in daycare centers for over 20 years. 5 years ago my boys went to school, and I started my own business. It is called Magic Moments. I go to preschools, home daycares, playgroups, the YMCA and public schools, and do a half hour class of music and movement. I get to do all of the crazy fun, silly stuff I like and no diapers and runny noses. The best part is I can totally control my schedule, and I make at least $40 per hour. I also do birthday parties, special events, and teach dance.
If you are good with kids and can think outside of the box, the possibilities are end less. I was told by my last boss that my business would not work and that I would be back. recently She has asked me to do classes for her, but it seems I am always way to busy.

Aries thanks for your planning!! Have I mentioned I'm DISfunctional when it comes to organization? I'm also a commando type touring planning person... I guess I must be sick!! I'm going to post some thoughts on the DisMeet thread MHL set up for us!!

UMA good ideas, I remember Mr. Disney ate at Pop food court and there was some fun cheesecake there!!

I hope we can all get to a park and maybe do a ride together too... hmmm so many ideas, so few days...

GOOD NEWS:
I have at least 2 people that want to hire me so far...I knew it wouldnt take long, but I am stiff miffed at the other people anyways Neither of them is full time so I may do them both! And they are both willing to bring their kids to my house, thus saving me gas and allowing me to do a few things around my house when they are keeping each other occupied. Yippee! I had another lady who owns a preschool call me because she saw my nanny profile and wants me to work in her preschool...I dont think she could afford me though

Minnie Moo where are you?

M2BATTF, I've been out and about with my daughter most of the day. We went to lunch at PF Chang's with my little sister and a friend, then to my DH's friend's ice cream shop (I just had a little bit), then shopped for some things for my grandpuppy, which our daughter is PICKING UP TOMORROW NIGHT!!!!!! Can't wait to see the pics!

DD is leaving very early tomorrow but it was wonderful having her home for a couple days. She is holed up in her room studying right now because finals are coming up fairly soon.

I had a pretty bad week eating and exercise-wise, so I'm ready to try to get back to daily exercise starting tomorrow, Celery. I accept your challenge!

Has anyone booked their flights yet?

I have this fear of getting them all booked (I have them picked out) and then everyone canceling their trip!

I'm a little hesitant to book our flights this early too. I need to discuss it with DH. It is pretty expensive out of our "local" airport, but $200 if we drive a ways to Flint. I hate flying out of Detroit - it's so busy there that I'm sure the security check would be more of a PITA.

Eventer - is that Mr. Jonathan Rhys Meyers as your newest most beautiful avatar? He makes my knees weak.

just an update for those of you interested in the wreck DH and i saw on friday:

i feel so bad for this woman's family. please send prayers her way. and also to the truck driver. he survived, but i'm sure it's a horrible thing to go through. i can't imagine.

DH saw the wreck, but pretty much just saw a big explosion and i saw it right after they exploded. we drove right by the vehicles as they sat there burning. just a surreal, disturbing thing to see. and hog mountain road is the road we take to get home - that's how close we live to where this happened.

hope you all had a good weekend. i'm off to the neverending trial again tomorrow morning. blah! have a good week, everyone!

I'm sooooooooooo behind! Visiting with Sandy was great! (Hi Sandy!) She is a great lady, and I had a blast! Today was a weird day. DH and I went to buy sheets for the new king size bed that is coming, and that was quite the ordeal! Sometimes we have trouble agreeing on these types of purchases, and today was one of those days. We finally got it figured out, and we headed over to Old Navy so I could try on some pants to see if I was down a size, and on the way to the fitting room, a guy looked at me with that look on his face like, "I know you, and I'm trying to be sure about it and see if you figure it out first." I looked away after making eye contact, and I knew I knew him too, so I looked back. (Now I must have had the same look on my face.) We stared at each other, and he said, "Lynda?" I just had this sense like this is someone who was important! Why can't I get it? He said his name, and you could have knocked me over with a feather!!! This was THE guy from high school. Some of you will know "THE guy". He was the guy I was really good friends with. I mean, we were pretty much best friends. (We went to church together growing up and were both very involved in high school.) And I was TOTALLY in love with him! NEVER would have dreamed of actually telling him that! (Didn't want to ruin the friendship and self esteem issues) Well, after high school, we didn't see much of each other. He joined the army and I went away to school. I have not seen him in about 15 years!!! I was caught totally off guard! I forgot to introduce my hubby! I was just in shock! It was surreal! I knew he lived in our hometown (about 40 minutes away), but I hadn't seen him, and I just didn't think about it. He had his 3 kids with him. It was just very bizarre. Anyone else ever have anything like this happen?

Hey y'all, I have to share this.

My baby sis is going with us in Sept. I posted a few pages back that her DH in in Iraq. They have 2 of the most adorable babies. Their little girl was born my b-day and has a very special place in my heart. When I called my sis and started talking about the trip and asked if they wanted to or could come along, she asked her DD, who's 2 1/2, if she wanted to go see Mickey Mouse and Cinderella with Auntie Noni. Well DUH! This little thing loves to fly and loves to spend time with her family. She went and got her backpack and tried packing it for the airplane. When they left the house on Fri to run errands, DNiece almost threw a fit because she didnn't have her backpack and she just knew it was time to go on the airplane. Since we've been making calls back and forth all weekend to make plans, everytime DNiece hears that I'm on the phone, she'll go get her backpack to go to the airport. My sis told me I'm killing her...(sis, not the baby) but I laughed and told her I'm excited about going to my happy place and I want everyone to be as happy as I am.

Speaking of Cindy......I called this am and scored a table for 3 for the last morning my sis and her babes are going to be with us. It's the 16th, which is exactly one month from our b-days so we're going to celebrate early. I plan on making a Cinderella costume for her to wear that day. I had thought about doing BBB but I'm not sure how she'd do and we can't do it before breakfast. I heard the hair sometimes stays up overnight but I don't want to spend that kind of $$ on a gamble.

I agree on BBB, BUT - go to Claire's at the mall, they have LOTS AND LOTS of princess stuff - and I think they are the ones that have the tiny crowns they sell at dtD for $15 and style her hair yourself when you dress her!! SERIOUSLY... and if you have a LibbyLoo store at a mall, go buy the glitter there, and dust her!! She'll look so sweet in the pic in the lobby with Cinderella...

I would suggest breaking up into 2 parties for that picture!! (cram everyone in one picture and then get a kid only one??_

Lynda wow... surreal indeed!! but.. um... what about the sheets??? and the pants??

Is anybody on tonight? I need someone to tell me that getting my Masters is worth this tremendous headache!!! I have another assignment due tonight and I am at my "had enough" breaking point!!! I am tired of writing papers, I think that is why I haven't even been DISing much. By the time I work on the computer for hours everyday for work and school - I am sick of looking at the computer. If I weren't such a ridiculous perfectionist, maybe this wouldn't be so bad. I mean I tell myself, hey this assignment is only worth 5 points - don't sweat it, just get it done. But it has to be perfect, which means I probably spend hours more doing this than a normal person. A "B" is okay, a B is okay, a B is okay.

I have had plenty of those thoughts in the last 2 years since starting my Master's and I'm anticipating a lot more in this last year as I finish up. What I do know is that I get over it eventually and realize that I really do want it and it will be worth it in the end. But I know what you are going through. And I don't even have a job or a family to worry about so I can't imagine the extra stress added onto that. Hope this rough patch smoothes over soon for you! And, a B is okay. Really!
