Hi guys I wanted to quote things this morning but I can't because it's 8:05 am and I have to start getting the kids ready for school. I need to start DISing earlier, maybe 7:00 :goodvibes . I am going to the gym this morning to meet with one of my friends so I will have company. I like that the time goes by faster.

Here's the some of the quotes I remember

Dawn My DH was watching the AG too and he said it's the same show we used to watch so he was aggrevated but watched in anyway. I watched Deperate Housewives.

Monica I'm on the train too, WOOT WOOT

Heather So sorry Joshua is sick, hope he feels better. I hate leaving the kids when they are sick. Also Christi and her family are in my thoughts and prayers:hug:

winkers Yeah for the gym

dwheatl Here's to a speedy recovery for your sister. She's in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Disneyfreak92 Have lots of fun at DL and take a lot of pictures.

And Happy Birthday to DISMOM

Happy Birthday Amy!!!

Can i just say that i am at the point of biting nails this morning...i found out they've been making decaf coffee at work, just "assumed" everyone was drinking it now. no wonder i've had friggin headaches. why is this a big deal? i have no idea, maybe my nerves are just sitting way to close to the surface today. or maybe its because i NEED to go workout early this morning. and cant go til later on tonight....

Please pray for my sister. It was weird, because at church this morning, I was praying for her to find the strength to quit smoking. Assuming everything goes well in the hospital, maybe this is the kick in the pants she needs to quit.

Sending u some pixie dust!

Happy Monday All!!

It has been an insane couple of days in our house. I am thankful to be back to work. I promise to catch-up with all of the happenings today.

I did weigh on Friday and am up 1lb. I am not at all surprised considering I haven't gotten my butt to they gym in a week. I can't seemt to get motivated nid-week; I am a MONDAY only start-overer (my own word). So since it is Monday I am starting over. I want to run a 5K on 3 Feb so I really need to get it in gear.

I hope everyone is doing well.

HAPPY BORTHDAY DISMOM!!:dance3: :cheer2:  :woohoo: :dance3: :cheer2: :woohoo:

OK Peeps...

I haven't been reading lately, but it's time I jump back on the wagon. I've been losing momentum since Thanksgiving and I'm ready to refocus and recommit.

I got on the scale for a reality check last Friday, but didn't make it on the board this weekend. I gained back 4 lbs -- not the end of the world, but I lost my 60 lb bling (and I want it BACK). I've been working on getting rid of them again and have lost one since Friday.

SO here's my recommitment:

I will exercise everyday. I will keep my calories below 1500 everyday for the next two weeks. I will make healthy choices. I will drink more water and less diet Pepsi....

All right, I feel better now. I've confessed to my peeps. Welcome to any newbies. Hugs and prayers to those who need them.

Congrats to the losers -- I hope to join you this week.

MJ

BTW -- Aaron -- if you are doing a Valentines Challenge, put me down for 8 lbs. THanks!!

Happy Birthday Amy!
:bday: party: :jumping1: :cake: :rockband: :jumping1: party: :bday:

Exciting News!!!!!!!!

My husband & I may be going back to Disney World in June for our 10-year wedding anniversary! :cool1: I'm so excited. It will be just the two of us. :yay: No kids. Yay! We were planning to go to Gatlinburg, Tn but he said that if I would like to go back to the World for our anniversary than we could do that. It would only be June 18th-June 22nd but I'll gladly take it. Our anniversary is the 20th. Oh, and this time we will be flying. No road trip this go around. :thumbsup2 I'll keep you posted.

DISMOM!!!! Happy Birthday!!!!

MJMouse- Welcome back! A lot of us are recommitting and rallying our peeps for support! This is gonna be one great year!

my2boys- OOOOOH! What a fun way to spend your biggie anniversary!

born2bird
- I like the term "start overer"! I think that'll catch on!

Happy Monday Everyone!!!!

Happy Birthday Amy!!!!!!

I've recommited too; my menu is done and I've gone shopping for healthy foods. I found it hard to find 20 pts some days since I have to have foods that I can eat away from home.

I've got to run, I need to get my dinner packed.

my2boysrtwicethefun That is so cool that you will spend your 10th anniversary at WDW with no kids. Even just a short time is worth it to me.

Hello everyone and good afternoon. Well I put the kids on the bus and off to the gym I went. Walked on the treadmill for 30 minutes and did weights for 25 minutes. I have to go find something to eat because I'm getting hungry.

He is LOST, but going strong for the boys. Please continue to pray for them. I was not able to visit her earlier --he is hoping that I can go this weekend depending on how she is doing.

How is it that when little boys get a haircut they look so much older!! Joshua was in major need of one lilke a month overdue actually and now he looks do old and CUTE!!

My oldest got a haircut right before Christmas and he looks more like a little boy than my baby. My youngest barely has any hair at all. Poor kid, I wonder if he will ever have hair.

He went to his Dr. today. I love his Dr. He doesn't believe Matt has pneumonia and thinks it's being over diagnosed. He believes Matt has an Asthmatic Bronchitis condition going on and he has an ear infection. The ER Dr. said there was fluid. No, it's infected. Dr. Gary, I'll call him, gave Matt prednisone, and inhaler, and told us to keep Matt on the New meds, (Z-pak or Zithromax).

I've already seen a difference. He's asked to eat twice!

I am so glad he is finally on the upswing! He has certainly had a tough go.

I got myself all psyched up yesterday to go sign up at the gym, but first I had to do a load of laundry.......I fell down the stairs! So now I'm confined to bed because I can hardly move.:headache:

Now I have to get myself convinced to go again on monday. I need someone to hold my hand. I have this secret fear that when I walk through the gym doors everyone will bust up laughing.

Way to go joining the gym!! That is a huge step and you will be so glad you did it. Good luck to you and don't worry about anyone else and what they think. You are doing this just for you.

here's my tips. not many....it's saturday and my brain doesn't run full speed on weekends!

1. don't think of exercise as a chore. think of it as your "me" time.....the only hour out of the day where you don't have to deal with your spouse, your kids, your boss, bills, etc. just clear your mind and concentrate on your workout.

2. drink water. when you get sick of it, add a crystal lite (or fake crystal lite) pack and drink more!

3. fiber one bars are awesome if you're like me and sometimes need help in the potty department. i eat them when i don't have time to make breakfast.

4. when you need a potato chip fix, get some of those "quakes." they're mini rice cakes and the ranch-flavored ones rock!

5. if you lose at least 1 pound (or whatever weight you want to set) per week, reward yourself with a free day. on your free day don't eat everything in sight......just allow yourself something you don't normally have. for me it's sweet tea or a margarita and a break from writing down my calorie count for the day.

Thanks for the tips!! Lord knos I could use some. I am back on the wagon as of today and am starving at the moment.

After weeks of not really training I was able to go 2.95 miles in 40:30!!!!:cool1: :yay: And...............my knee has NO pain at all!! These new shoes are keepers! :thumbsup2 I have to run 3.1 miles in less than 45 minutes. It is attainable now!

You are my inspiration to keep training for a 3 Feb 5K. I still don't like running but keep trying to talk myself into the idea. I am doing the couch to 5K again.

That is awesome. I wish my DH would change his mind, but it is Gatlinburg for us this summer and maybe 3 days at Orange Beach. He says our next Disney trip will be in '09. So until then we will rent out or DVC points and I will get to pay debt with that. SO I guess that is not a bad thing.

That doesn't sound like a bad summer at all and now you have lots of time to look forward to WDW. BTW, I may be able to take those DVC points off your hands if you still want to rent them this year.

YES, Bonnie! I do! As I told Wendee yesterday, what woman could resist the knowledge, wisdom, and experience of a 100 year old man all wrapped up in a smokin hot 17 year old Greek-god package. BUT. I like my men warm. It's just a personal preference. AND. Knowing I could never get so much as a paper cut around his family would be a drawback too. :confused3 (Disclaimer: I am only halfway through New Moon so I'm not sure how it all works out in the end.)

Wendee[/B]....I also love Alice! She's adorable! For a vampire. ;)

Gotta go get ready for church. May take longer since I have to "do hair".

HAVE A WONDERFUL & BLESSED SUNDAY, EVERYONE! :flower3:

I am with you and Wendee and I could get over the cold thing! I am 3/4 through "New Moon" and love it. My house is showing some neglect as a result of my new addiction.:sad2:

BTW, I love your hair!! I want to try something new and am thinking I will go from being a red/brown head to all brown and getting a new cut. I have long hair and am thinking about going super short but haven't committed to the idea yet.

Allie, thanks for the quote info, I'll try it next time - cant promise I wont blow my computer up trying though! A stone does sound like a lot, I kind of like it because it makes me want to lose it more!

WELCOME!! It took me forever to get the quote thing right but it is so convenient once you figure it out. Congrats on the ucoming wedding!!

I am in the east coast and it's 5:06 pm here. Oh I forgot to say about the stone thing, I need to lose a driveway:scared1:

:rotfl: I am with you. I need to lose at least a driveway possibly closer to a parking lot.

We went into D.C. and went to some festivities at the Botanical Garden and then had lunch in Chinatown.* I had beef and broccoli (no rice). I am doing Atkins, so it isn't that bad except for the stinkin BROWN SAUCE over it!* It made me feel kinda icky, cause I do not want to stray from the plan.* But somehow, since it was kind of against my will (nice logic, huh?), it is not gonna make me spiral out of control!

Are you from the DC area? I assume yes sine your location is :Cherry Tree..." I am near Annapolis and love going to DC for quick daytrips. The Botanical Garden is amazing and I have been well over a dozen times (gardening is a hobby of mine). Chinatown is pretty fun during the day. We broke down there in the middle of the night and let's just say it is a whole different place at that hour.:scared1:

More pixie dust needed in my family. I slept in a little this morning, so literally ran to church. I walked home at a slightly slower pace, and when I got to my front door, DH pulls the door open looking panicky. He tells me my sister has been admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. 5 years ago this week my dad got pneumonia, went into a coma and passed away. Please pray for my sister. It was weird, because at church this morning, I was praying for her to find the strength to quit smoking. Assuming everything goes well in the hospital, maybe this is the kick in the pants she needs to quit.

How scary!! Lots of pixiedust: and prayers for your sister. I hope she is doing better now.

i'm having an interesting TV night......ray keeps switching between iron chef america and american gladiators. so it goes from me drooling at the TV to watching the cheesiest thing i've ever seen!!!! are you guys watching american gladiators???? OMG......HOW HILARIOUS! that helga chick is SCARY!!!! :scared:

:lmao: My husband made me sit through it tooso I had to DVR "Desperate Housewives" to watch tonight. Helga = :scared1:

DH is currently hooking up the Blu-ray player he insisted we should get. (It WAS a good deal at least.) And we have a little something waiting for us to install when we get back from Cali - a 26" flat panel TV for the dining-room-turned-exercise-room, where we will be adding a treadmill to the recumbent bike that is already in there! :cool1: We have to put away the Christmas decorations first though. Once we get the room finished, I'll photograph it so I can show you guys.

Nice!! We would love to get one but need to remodel our bathrrom more so I have to make do with the one we have for now. The picture is horrible but it was a hand-me-down so I can't complain...too much anyway.

The party was sweet but sad. Everyone was upbeat and the little one had a blast. I met their nanny for the time being and she seems really nice. When we were leaving her DH walked us out and we talked some away from family. At TG she was well enough to get a day pass from the hospital so they had a make shift ramp for her to get the wheel chair inside. As were leaving the conversation started off with I guess I need to get rid of this board, since she probably won't be coming home. I already knew this from other sources, it was just very hard hearing it from him. We all teared up and he just said it so matter of factly. They are not continueing raditation and the chemo has stopped as well since she is having a lot of trouble swallowing. THey also got the dreaded news on Saturday that the Dr.'s do not reccommend physical therapy. I think that was one of the last hold outs on how she was doing. Just continue to pray there are always miracles, but if that is not the case that her DH will have strength to make it. I asked how the boys were handling things and he said they were doing well since it is so much a part of their routine---the 5 year old knows that mommmy is very, very sick and that she is not doing well.

How is it that kids pick the best time to get sick. I have been home for 2 weeks and this morning Joshua decides he does not want to go to school but to the Dr. instead. He has had a cold, but now his temp is 103.8. He jsut fell back to sleep. Today is my first day back, but no students. Instead I get to give a presentation at 8:00 to about 70 fellow teachers. I am not looking forward to this. Give me kids anyday, but my peers :scared1:

I am glad the little one had a good time. They continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. You are right, miracles do happen.

I am sorry your DS is sick; 103.8 is pretty high. I hope he will be feeling better soon. Good luck with the presentation. I hate speaking in front of large groups and have done reallly poorly with that task in the past. Embarassing...really.

I actually have a new little boy starting today. We got to meet on Friday. He was so enthralled with the daycare. He doesn't speak much, his mom says he was evaluated and has autistic likes tendencies. He's 2 and is at a 6 month lever. I think he's adorable and I hope my plans will help him to communicate more. I use sign language with the kids. The hard part will be the one on one and group activities.

I just want to make him feel comfortable this week.

How did it go with your new charge this morning? I have to give you a lot of credit for what you do. I am not sure I would have the patience. I would probably be hiding in the closet curled up in a fetal position. Don't get me wrong, I love kids but that many at once and by myself...scary!!

Can i just say that i am at the point of biting nails this morning...i found out they've been making decaf coffee at work, just "assumed" everyone was drinking it now. no wonder i've had friggin headaches. why is this a big deal? i have no idea, maybe my nerves are just sitting way to close to the surface today. or maybe its because i NEED to go workout early this morning. and cant go til later on tonight....
ok rant over. sorry! back to your normal day.

I would be torqued too!! I need my coffee in the morning and not that wussy unleaded stuff either. I can't function properly without my daily dose. I hope your day gets better.

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

Have fun at your new job.

Have to get in shower so I can get things ready for Rebekah for the sitter. Also, need to finalize things for work.
Thanks! :) so far so good!
Sorry about the sick kiddo :(..they do have "GREAT" timing don't they??!

Today is my day at least that is what I keep telling myself. It is the first day to the new me. I am ready to start this battle with my weight and have decided that I WILL WIN!!! Yes, it will be hard but I have the support of this wonderful group and of my DH--fyi he thinks he is fat--yeah right!!! We went shopping last night and got healthier choices for both of us and we also want to incorprate this into our children's lifestyle as well. I weighed on Saturday morning so I know where I am starting and I know where I want to end. I am doing a combination of WW and the calorie thing, but since I am still nursing I have to add an additional of at least 300 calories. Wish me luck.

Have a blessed day!!!!
LUCK!!! I hear ya..i am, along with almost all of the rest of us peepers are right there with ya!!! You have the right attitude!! :)

Hey everyone it's Monday. Another week to get skinnie! Another week to meet your goals. Another week to seriously commit to a healthy YOU!

All aboard! The train is leaving and there's no turning back! WOOT WOOT!
Good luck with the new little guy :)

So far so good today, went to Curves at 7 this morning and got weighed in ( SCARY>>>>can you say gained it all back!...ugh)..and now i am on a lunch break at work...the first day is going really well..i think i will be quite happy here!
Oh and YES my lunch is healthy and low cal..gotta be the BIGGEST LOSER and all! :)
Happy Birthday DISMOM !

Welcome Kelly, I'm Laura and I am married to Michael for 11 years. We have three kids, Christopher 8, Nicholas 6 and Elizabeth 25 months. I do WW too. I joined the peeps a couple of months and they are wonderful. Eygpt sounds great.

Ive been to Egypt one time before but to the Red Sea area, more relaxation that sightseeing, so Im really looking forward to this trip!
Im more motivated already reading through some (not all!) of the pages - shame its nearly time for me to go to bed!

:i think the U.S. east coast is 5 hours behind you. so right now it's 4:30 here and it should be around 9:30 p.m. there. then just take away an hour for every time zone here: central = 3:30; mountain = 2:30; pacific = 1:30.

Ah, that clears it up - all I knew was it was some time in the afternoon!:upsidedow

Welcome New Girl!!!!

YES, Bonnie! I do! As I told Wendee yesterday, what woman could resist the knowledge, wisdom, and experience of a 100 year old man all wrapped up in a smokin hot 17 year old Greek-god package. BUT. RE: The casting for the movie....I hope they let "Cedric" keep his English accent and work that into the story somehow. The accent would make Edward even hotter IMHO. I also really like the girl cast as Bella. (Loved her in Zathura...one of DS's favorite movies.)

Wendee
....I also love Alice! She's adorable! For a vampire. ;)

DAWN
....Thanks for sharing your wedding pictures! You are absolutely radiant. AND you look exactly the same! How do you do that?

Danielle....WOOT! WOOT! ((raisin' the roof))

Celery....Skinny IS better than tipsy! :thumbsup2

I, too, had a date with Miss Clairol yesterday. DS was invited to go to the aquarium with a friend so I quickly whipped out the box of color I had at home and then went out to get my hair cut. Results from yesterday via my new web cam....
mehaircut.jpg

Gotta go get ready for church. May take longer since I have to "do hair".

HAVE A WONDERFUL & BLESSED SUNDAY, EVERYONE! :flower3:

Ok, I had to go back a lot to find your new haircut picture. I totally love it! I use Miss Clairol too!!!! What color did you use? I have like an inch of regrowth to touch up but I think I need a small change. I'm growing out my hair so I'm bored with it.

I think I really like Cedric now. The accent will be sexy. I need to see Zathura now. I need to see her in action. I think she will be absosmurfly perfect for Bella.

Hi Peeps. I've been lurking and reading here but not posting as my weight challenge is less than stellar so I've got nothing to brag about out here.

But I had to post cuz your talking about Edward again. I'm just not sold on Cedric yet. And I'm really stressing over it. You'd think I'd find something better to stress about huh? Like the fact that my mammo/chest x-rays showed something and I'm worried that I'm going to start "the process" of fighting cancer again this year when I barely my last battle 4 months ago. But thinking about Edward is so much more pleasant. :rotfl:

And if I became a vampire, I wouldn't have to go through chemo again. I may be onto something here.

Don King hair is now under control. Got a bit of a cut. It's still super dooper ugly though and I can't wait for it to grow long enough for a flat iron. I will not be posting any pics of my new "do".

Weight challenge isn't going well. I'm not gaining any weight. I'm holding steady at 23 lbs total lost (had been at 26 lost before Christmas) but I'm not motivated to work at it and it will take work. I can't get over my sinus cold and my ears are plugged and they hurt so I don't want to eat fruits or drink my water. I want hot things. And chocolate. And I leave for WDW in 6 days so I know how well that weight battle will go.

I hope I'm ready by the time we start the Easter challenge. :lmao:

I took him to school today and he was walkng so slow and I started to worry if I pushed him too fast to go to school. I asked him what was wrong and he mumbled under his breath that him being with me was embarrassing. I felt so bad, I didn't want to embarrass him so I just walked ahead and acted like I wasn't with him. What I really wanted to do was hug and kiss him in front of everyone. But that would be middle school humiliation. So, he's doing good.

The little guy did great!

Good luck with the new little guy :)

So far so good today, went to Curves at 7 this morning and got weighed in ( SCARY>>>>can you say gained it all back!...ugh)..and now i am on a lunch break at work...the first day is going really well..i think i will be quite happy here!

Thanks he did really good for being in my home for the first time.

Good luck beig the Biggest loser!

I was so busy I didnt have the time or the need to snack today. I'm waiting to hit my rut, but so far I haven't. The South Beach just fits with me this time. WOOT WOOT!

Holy moley! 10 pages in a weekend!?! Now I'm trying to play catch up

Does anyone else LOVE infomercials and QVC/Home shopping shows???? I am so entertained by their sales techniques. I get a kick out of QVC's sales people becoming all chummy with their customers at home. VERY funny. NO, I don't buy stuff, except the one time with Bare Minerals (LOVE).
I'm an infomercial junkie! But only the household products. You know, cooking gadgets; new and improved products to strip layers upon layers of old paint and stains from furniture; tools to cut the time to paint a room in half; kits for making fake-yet-real-looking stained glass windows. I've been watching those since I was a kid. One of my guilty pleasures, I guess.

love the pic! you're sooooooo pretty! awhile back a bunch of peeps posted their wedding pics and it was pretty funny to see some of the hairdos and styles from the '70's and '80's!
We found our wedding pictures this weekend that we thought had gotten lost during our move this summer, so I'll have to find one that I think looks ok and post it. But it was just 2.5 years ago, so no fun fashions from me.

Oh, and Dawn - remember a few months ago when everyone was discussing their favorite bands? And you recommended to me that I check out John Mayer's "Try" because I like blues music? Well, I picked it up this past weekend with a Best Buy gift card that I got for Christmas. And I LOVE it! I swear, during a few of the songs (Out of Mind in particular), I had to double check to make sure it wasn't Stevie Ray Vaughn. The guitar and voice sounded eerily similar, which is a huge compliment. And I love that they did Hendix's "Wait Until Tomorrow". Very cool. Great CD suggestion!!!

I DVR'd American Gladiators since Desperate Housewives was new last night. I was a huge fan of AG as a kid, and now that it involves the Hulkster, I can't miss it! But it was also the last new Desperate Housewives until the writers strike is over, and I was just dying to find out the aftermath of the tornado. (Yep, I'm a Golden Girls lovin', Desperate Housewives watching man on a weight loss board consisting of mainly women; and I'm married. Not that there's anything wrong with it if I wasn't...)

Oh man, I think I meant to quote a few others. Oh, here's the updated V-Day challenge. I hope I've got everybody this time. (LMO - I didn't go back to see how much you lost, so I'm just starting you at 7 lbs. Cool?)

f_Peepm_f309b99.png

hey, peeps......had to share this with you guys. after gym class this morning anna was doing some measurements on a girl who hired her for personal training and she offered to do my measurements. i haven't done measurements since right before i joined this thread. we just measured waist, hips and thighs since i'm not really worried about my arms/chest at this point.

my measurements from january 2007:
waist - 32.75 inches
hips - 46.5 inches
thigh - 27.5 inches

my measurements today:
waist - 26.75 inches
hips - 42.5 inches
thigh - 24.25 inches

i'm not really sure how i should look at this. obviously it's not bad, but i was thinking i had lost more off my hips and thighs. 6 inches off my waist is great except that that's not where i need to lose it!

winkers - let us know how the gym went!

How does Ray feel when you drool over those gladiators? And what were they making w/cheese on Iron Chef America?

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: um......to quote willy wonka, "wait a minute....strike that....reverse it."

So tommorow i FINALLY go back to a full time job!!

hope your first day of work is going well!

I asked how the boys were handling things and he said they were doing well since it is so much a part of their routine---the 5 year old knows that mommmy is very, very sick and that she is not doing well.

 i continue to pray for christi and her friends and family.

good luck on your presentation! :goodvibes

Wish me luck.

good luck!!!!!! and what a great attitude. :thumbsup2

OK Peeps...

I haven't been reading lately, but it's time I jump back on the wagon.

WELCOME BACK!

Exciting News!!!!!!!!

My husband & I may be going back to Disney World in June for our 10-year wedding anniversary! :cool1:

AWESOME! and congrats on almost-10 years! you'll be surprised at how quickly you can get things done when you don't have kids with you. of course i don't have kids so i have nothing to compare it to, but i notice on TRs how it takes people so much longer to do things with kids compared to how long it took ray and i. but of course i understand why and when i do take my kids to disney world one day i will take my time and let them take it all in at their own speed. my point is you'll get a good bit in even though you're not staying a long time. and be sure to eat somewhere romantic for your anniversary!

I've recommited too

WELCOME BACK TO YOU, TOO!
