GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

Better day yesterday but no exercise.....again. I can only walk on the track during my after-work-before-school-pick-up time and I haven't had any yet. Today is the day. I'm gonna see if I can still walk my 2 miles w/ light weights in 30 minutes. :scared: I think it's gonna be tough.

I only have a few pounds to lose but here's my problem. Now that I'm getting to my mid-40s, every ounce I gain wraps itself loving around my waist with no exception. I do not want to look like my grandmother with no butt and a big tummy. (Love you, Grandmother!)

Short term goal: lose 5 pounds
Long term goal: keep up the healthy eating and exercise without long breaks
One thing today: water and exercise (is that two?)
Hanging on to: my addiction to sweets after a meal and an occasional beer before dinner

Shannon, Harley, Amy, TinkabellaKim.....GOOD TO SEE YOU ALL!!! :grouphug:

LMO
....I don't think we've met. I'm Melinda. Nice to meetcha! When's your birthday? :)

Aaron.....What can I get for a rib? I guess we deserved that.

EVERYBODY......:wave2:

Have a great day! :flower3:

Just to set the record straight (cause I don't want to take extra credit), Sandy is running the Half Marathon, I am just running the 5K. Mine is 3.1 miles long, hers is 13.something long. So her accomplishment will WAY out Trump mine. ;) I also have my 9 yo daughter running with me. We are doing a mommy/daughter trip in honor of my 40th, which will be later this year.

If you have any questions about the C25K, let me know.

I agree with Punkin, running is running. I didn't know they have a 5K at WDW, where can I get that info from? Maybe I should start with that and work up my way up. I totally will let you know about the C25K but I think I need to lose my weight first (I have over 100 lb) then I will check back with ya, you'll probably forget this post because it won't be for long a time.

Looks like everyone is off and "running" into the new year! I said yesterday I was going to start walking with a co-worker, but it was so cold here today. BUT one of my other co-workers said we could walk inside - so we did! You should have seen the five of us, single file, walking down a very skinny (maybe four feet across) hallway. One of the girls sets a very quick pace which I can't set but can follow. I got my heart rate up and felt very successful - silly too! We laughed a lot and had fun together.

OT - On the news the week before Christmas you might have seen a German Shepherd that was being retired from the army to the family of his trainer who was killed in Iraq. His trainer was the nephew of one of my co-workers and we got to meet the dog, Lex, today. He is such a beautiful dog with a huge heart!

See I knew excerising could be fun. That's cool about meeting the dog but sad for the solilder.

The best way to cook broccoli is to steam, cook in the microwave or stir-fry with a little broth or water. These methods are better than boiling.

I'm having trouble staying with 1200 calories, but I'm still eating less than the 12 X goal weight for this week. Here's what I've eaten today:

1/2 c. Go Lean Crunch & 1/2 c. special K w/1/2 c. 1% milk 220 cals.
Decaf w/ ff sf cocoa 50 cals.

ff sf pineapple orange yogurt 120 cals.

3 oz. turkey breast w/ 2 tbsp. cranberry sauce 140 cals.
1 lg. orange 100 cals.
4 Hershey kisses 100 cals.

1 choc. chip cookie (they're gone, thank goodness) 50 cals.

white cheddar soy chips 110 cals.
Lean Cuisine french bread pizza 310 cals.
salad w/ Bleu cheese vinaigrette 60 cals.
pear 100 cals.

Costco samples (they got me, UM) 100 cals.(estimate-a bite of turkey breakfast sausage, 2 bites chicken taquito, 2 slurps vegan minestrone, bite of dried berries)

I'm asking for pixie dust for my kids for tomorrow. Nothing really dramatic. They are both getting their wisdom teeth out. DH and I both will be caring for them, and he's a really good caregiver. I'm just praying the extractions are uneventful.

That's for the info on the broccoli. Pixie dust for your kids.

I think it is going to be a long night here. Rebekah did not take a nap today except for a quick 20 min. cat nap. Well I had to run an errand at 5:30 and she fell asleep. I came home and cooked supper and then sat down with Joshua and I just knew she would wake up soon. Put him to bed at 8 and then I fell asleep on the couch. I woke at 11 and she woke then as well. I nursed her and she is all smiles now. I hope she goes back down soon

Oh I remember those days all to well. Although I will tell you I have heard that babies younger than 6 months old can nap after 4 and then still go to bed at a decent time, I hope that's the case with Rebekah, go to sleep little girl your eyes are getting sleeping.

Happy Birthday Lynda.

Ok I am not going to weigh in today because 1) I do not own a scale and 2) I go to my WW meeting on Tuesday's and they were not open because of New Years and Christmas so I can't weigh in until next week but I am going to the gym today after I get the boys on the bus so I will weigh myself there and see what that scale says. :scared1:

-2 pounds...

since I weighed earlier this week. Which shows-ta-go-ya that some of this is water weight.

This is so incredible. I am happy to finally be reporting here on Friday.

-6.8!!
This however should be one of the few numbers I ever post over 5.

This is great motivation for me.

Had Matt at the ER last night.

He's just not getting better and the chest x-ray showed that. Plus he broke out in hives from head to toe last night. He looked terrible.

New meds, and please just keep him in your prayers. He's been sick for so long now. He just wants to make it to his band concert on Tuesday. I'm not sure if his lungs will let him. Poor kid.

Good luck on the weigh-in! Come on big numbers!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA!!!!

At one I went to bed and just let her nurse again while we were laying down and she was soon off in the land of nod. I slept until 4 when Joshua could not find his pabby--then dosed again until 6:30 when Rebekah woke :cool1: Joshua woke again at 7 so we are watching DORA!!!

Short Term--get motiviated, the right foods and water in the house. Lose 7 pounds by Valentines.

Long Term--Lose 20 pounds and just eat healthy

Problem--when DH travels I tend to just eat whatever is easy to get by with kids--I need to have things ready

Yeah on the weight loss. Doesn't he go to the doctor today or is that someone else? I'm sorry if I missed that post, what does he have pneomonuia ( I know I spelled that one wrong)

Hi Melinda! nice to meet u!!!! :goodvibes .my birthday is April 29...hence the 429 lol on my screen name..the LMO part is a whole other long story..my name is Lauren..Im 31 yrs old

Thanks, but I am just going to use that weigh in as a new starting point. It will still be less than it was when I joined back in August. I just think it will be higher than Nov. I am a lifetime member, so I only "have" to weigh in once a month.

The C25K takes 9 weeks to get to the point that you run exclusively. It is a 3 day a week program.

1st week : Walk 5 min. then alternate running 60 sec./walking 90 sec. do this for 20 min. total

2nd week: Walk 5 min., alternate running 90 sec/2 min. walking. do this for 20 min. total

Then it moves up from there.

Here is the website: www.coolrunning.com

Give it a try! If I can do it ANYONE can! I promise!

Thanks!

Im sure most of this is water but i lost

7.5 pounds this week

I would be alot happier with this amount of weight loss on a normal basis but Im still 6.5 pounds from my usual heavy weight. so i feel like im starting all over and then some. im hoping by the end of the month i am at my normal high weight and 125 pounds by the time i go to Disney for my bachelorette party in May. (its not an unrealistic goal 20 pounds in total a pound a week until May 14th)

congrats to everyone else this week who lost weight as well! everyone seems super motivated on the boards so im sure everyone is going to do great! :yay:

Way to go on the numbers!!! Sorry about Matt---I knew he was ill, but how long has he been sick. Did they say what it was or just the generic resp. infection? Sending dust your way!!!

About to give Joshua a breathing treatment and then we are off for the morning. He has to get a haircut and Katie has swim at 11. Oh yeah--it is very cold here, but I have HOT WATER. Everytime I woke last night I went and ran th ewater a little.

Have a blessed day.

Pixie dust to Monica and Danielle for your childrens health!

Happy Birthday Lynda.

I did lose weight this week, but am not going to post it because it's really just a loss of what I gained Christmas week, so I'm back to where I was before Christmas and I'm happy with that!:goodvibes

Aaron, this by far was the funniest! I rolled. Thanks.

You know I am just having fun here.

I never mean to offend anyone. If I do or have, I sincerely apologize.

Trust me, DH knows what I type. He either reads it or I tell him.
No worries! I was just playing along. I don't offend easy.

i wonder if your barber is happily married? :rolleyes1  just kidding. that was a great joke.
That was actually one of the few clean jokes that he's told me. I've been going to him for 10+ years, and he's usually good for 2-3 jokes each time. And he's only repeated maybe 1/2 dozen of them in that time.

All right, I'm not going to post an actual loss/gain number since I haven't been faithfully weighing myself for a few weeks, but I did weigh myself this morning and I wasn't happy with what I saw. I'm about 4.5 pounds above my lowest weight, and I have to give up my 40 lb ribbon. But now at least I have a new starting point, and I know what my Valentines Day goal is going to be; it is a very aggressive goal of losing 9.2 pounds to get myself to 170.

I love seeing those big, pretty numbers from everyone!

And Happy Birthday Lynda!

Have a great Friday everyone!

Happy Birthday Lynda!

I know we dont have to but I need to: starting weight 176, today 173.8

-2.2

Ok, I'm a SAMER, which I am proud of considering I haven't counted points or been very careful. It gives me hope that maybe if I have me a good bowl of Colon Blow, I might actually have a loss when I go to WW on Monday.

That would be AWESOME!!!!:cool1:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LYNDA!!!!!

Good Morning !

I am -1 today.

Happy Birthday Lynda !

Today:
Breakfast- Coffee with 1% milk (I just couldn't eat anything...I when out for coffee last night with the girls and got home at 1:15 am :rolleyes1 )

Lunch: Veg stir fry with barley and shrimp

Snack: melon and blueberries

Dinner: Spicy Cajun salmon on spinach salad. (LF balsamic vinaigrette.)

Prayers and Pixie dust for all those in need. :grouphug:

Hope everyone has a super skinny day !....Drink your water !

K

Happy Birthday Lynda!! :cheer2:

Yay for all the pretty numbers!!

I weighed this morning and was very unhappy w/ the number. I have gained 7 lbs since the last time I weighed (Dec 21) and over 10 lbs over my lowest weight in 2007. I am going to take this number as my start weight for 2008, and post it here (gasp): 187. My ultimate goal is about 150, so I have a ways to go. Sigh.
