DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

I just got my phone line fixed, and the internet back!

I had no phone all weekend or internet, that made me nuts.

This is truely an addiction.

Have lots to catch up on! Be back later!

Dawn - Just email me the pic. (Do you still have my email address? If not, let me know.) I'll remove it and send it back. It's really easy, but it depends on the photo editing software you have. So sending it is probably the easiest thing. :)

I've been engrossed in the BEST book! Sorry if I was MIA. I think my imaginary friends would love this gem:

"Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer.

It hooks you on the first page! It's equal parts romance and suspense with a 17 year old young lady who's in love with a vampire who was born in 1912 and is forever 17. It written uncommonly well. I don't think I put it down for longer than it takes to eat or pee all day yesterday, saving the last chapter for today. I seriously can't wait to sink my teeth into the next in the series! I like it much better than anything written by Anne Rice.

Now I need to catch up with this thread too!

PUNKIN- #1!!!!!

I will have to check that out! I actually LOVE Anne Rice's books. That sounds really good. I have been reading while riding the bike and am about to finish A Moveable Feast by Ernest Hemingway. I asked for another Hemingway novel and a couple of Dickens novels for Christmas. I felt like reading some real literature when the weather turned cold. And I need a good book for the flight in January! :woohoo:

Sorry I've been MIA. I've been trying to prepare for Christmas. The decorations should be finished tonight - I hope! We need to do the tree, and then I think we're done. (Inside, that is!) We are waiting to hear back from my best friend to see if she and her DH will be able to join us on our WDW trip in May, and as soon as we find out, we need to make ADRs! (She can't have gluten, so it may affect where we eat a bit.) We also need to call DL soon to reserve Blue Bayou and a character meal for January. And there's SO much more to do to be ready for that trip, and I know it's gonna sneak up on us big time with the holidays approaching.

I got too busy to post on Friday, but I was a samer. I do think I want to adjust my Christmas goal to 4.2 lbs instead of 5. That would put me at 214 - 1 lb below my 35 lbs lost mark. Then I can still gain a pound on Christmas, but still be at a 35 lb loss. Plus, with all the exercising I've been doing, the scale hasn't been moving as much as I'd like, and I am hoping it's because I'm building muscle. I AM seeing a gradual change in shape of my mid-section! :thumbsup2 It looks like my hips and love handles are shrinking, and my tummy is lifting a little. Pants are tighter today, but AF is here, and she has brought the bloat along with her. :headache:

I desperately need to work on my trip report and read others as well! I am SO behind! Hopefully, I can work on that this week.

Oh, did pretty well on my goals last week except that I couldn't really count calories Friday because we had a holiday luncheon. But I was good considering what was available! I ate more than I normally would, but I think I still would have been within my calorie limit, or very close to it, if I had been able to count. And I didn't get muscle work in twice. I DID do it once, which was more than the week before! And I WILL do it twice this week, as well as bring my lunch twice again and count those calories EVERY day except cheat day. :thumbsup2

Well, that's enough rambling for me. I hope everyone has a great Monday! :)

Peeps, anyone have any ideas how long it is averaging to get a passport these days? I know with the new rules, it's been taking awhile. Think I would have it by mid to late April if I ordered it in the next 2 weeks?

TIA peeps!

punkin413 I'm voting for 2 also )I know I am late, but long day today); both of your dogs are too cute

dwheatl Yeha on the parade. Yum - left over turkey. I bought one too for the same reason but haven't yet cooked it

MA pigletfan You'll have to share the reindeer pictures of your dog; I also took a peek at your TR too. Only 3 more days.

MRNsMommy I will admit that for me (being that I lived up in CT) all my life) it would be "weird" having Christmas in hot weather but I would love it to be a little more warmer some days. Just snow for Christmas day and that's it.

pigget74 I will always remember that one about how to spell dessert because god only knows I always want more :lmao:

monymony3471 Glad you got the phone and the internet back. I know it's an addicition I would have went nuts :surfweb:

:woohoo: Hi to everyone else. Gotta go eat dinner and bring my DS8 to basketball practice.

I NEED PEEP TECHNICAL HELP! I am so annoyed right now, I want to update my TR and update the title..but have NO clue how...can someone bail me out of being so computer illiterate??? Thanks in advance! :)

Well I guess we will have to forgive you for being a Busy Bee..:)
Good for you and your being good..i need a little bit of what is that called, oh yah, willpower!

I think its been about 3 months the regular way..so you should be ok if you do it soon :)

I'm with everyone else - definitely #2. But for me, it is because the pooch on the right (is that Eli?) looks really happy with his tongue sticking out. I think it's adorable when dogs have their pictures taken with their tongues sticking out.

yep, that's eli. he's the one that's on an appetite suppressant....as if you couldn't tell that!

You all can keep your snow!! I hate snow and cold... moved South for a reason!

ditto. although i didn't move to the south but was born here. and i LOATHE cold weather!!!!!!!! my husband loves it and it drives me nuts. why would you love actually feeling pain just because you have to stand outside to pump gas for 2 minutes?????

You're the bomb Dawn..ha--i totally rhymed...i am going to fix that up right now..THANK YOU! :yay:

I got tile! It's so purdy! The entire kitchen is tiled and grouted.

This weekend was such a headspin.

When they started laying the tile on Friday they were bringing in boxes and opening them. You know the palet of tile I bought that was shrink wrapped and told good thing you are buying a palet, this will ensure it's all from the same dye lot?

Different dye lots, different sizes, different thicknesses. We were running all over to the metro area Lowes trying to find the tile they used in the kitchen to match the hallway/foyer. They butt up to each other. Nope. Doesn't exist. So I do have 4-5 boxes left and we will use the greener shades in the closet and the laundry room since it's darker in those rooms and it shouldn't be too obvious about the color difference.

Talk about stress. Tim and I were barking at eachother and dragging 4 kids to all of these stores. Right after we forced them to go to church!

Wonders: My mom woke up with a swelled thingy in her mouth once and it was just a cold. They told her to take some benedryl just in cause it was an allergic reaction to something though.

Punkin: I liked the first picture.

MRnsmommy: You need to just relax. Are you doing the driving? Then you call the shots when you need to leave. Just say, it would work better for us to leave on such and such day and since we are driving be ready.

bird: Hope you didn't choke anyone.

Pakey: Sorry about your Aunt. The circle of life is really incredible.

Melinda: That quiche recipe sounds easy. Should we call it easy peasy eggs and cheesy?

Mapigglet: I'm off to read you pre-TR!

GOOD MORING DRIVE BY!!! :sunny:

I'm OK. Don't worry!

Back later!

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

Melinda..Glad things are OK. I just miss your beautiful face in the morning!!! :goodvibes

Shannon...I took my son for a passport the Sat after Thanksgiving and we were told it's taking 6-8 weeks, but he has seen them come back sooner. Hope that helps. :)

I so want to be doing this all day :surfweb: instead of heading to work! Aunt Flo has me exhausted this morning, so staying home in my jammies, drinking coffee/tea/cappuccino, surfing the web sounds like such a better thing to do!

My TR is coming soon! I am writing it in a word program and thought I could do that at work too, but the one at home is newer than the one at work, so I am going to finagle something today. :rolleyes1 I know you all are waiting on the end of your seats for it! :rotfl:

Happy Day All!!!! :hippie:

That's how it always works for me, you would think a Lowe's employee would have known that the dye lots in a palet wouldn't all be the same. Can't wait for pictures to see your purdy tile.

Anyway gotta go get weighed in at WW today. Wish me luck. DS8 had basketball practice last night and his coach is a real jerk to be nice. Long story to tell you about him just take my word for it. Anyway I came home and had four EL fudge cookies and a couple of pieces of lacey swiss cheese. The scale shall tell the truth. Gotta go get the kiddos ready for school.

Laura

Still hanging in there - yesterday wasnt such a great day - trying to decorate involves a lot of bending over to find stuff... and it just makes the dizziness increase!!

I want to put my tree up today!! I want 2 trees!! 1 live $10 tree isnt asking too much is it???

STAY THE COURSE PEEPS!!

Happy 1st day of Hannukkah - celebrate miracles!!

DISNEYLAURA: Good for you for stopping at 4 cookies!

That is the hardest part for me. My thought process is usually not so controlled, if I find myself cheating, I have a hard time not going "whole hog" so to speak, like, "well... if I'm cheating anyway, I won't be eating this kind of food again for a long while, I've got to make it worth it, let's eat a little (ok, a lot) of everything I've been avoiding!" Then there goes the kitchen. It was really hard for me to give up my "cheat days". It seemed that when I started the Carbohydrate binges, they would fuel some wicked cravings, making it extremely hard to stop. Reading some "dieting" books really helped. Especially South Beach. I never knew that your body could really crave sugar for a variety of reasons. (not just AF) It's easier for me to mainly eat a lower carb diet, and try to get more "plant" food in. I have found that while trying Atkins (very hard to stick to) that I dropped alot of weight, but had little energy and then whenever I ate carbs, I gained it back QUICKLY. I think it just takes alot of tinkering around to figure out the right methods that work for yourself.
All that being said, I am still trying to fight off these darn 2-3 pounds from Thanksgiving. It was a little more, but certain things were an added factor. Dieting during the Holidays is HARD!!!

PAKEY: I am very sorry to hear about your aunt. The new baby will provide a lot of comfort, but that is a hard association, to have life and death on the same day.

Thank you so much for sharing about your son. It helps to know that other people deal with things like this to. I didn't really know what to say about my daughter. You start out saying a little, and all of a sudden way to much information is exposed. In my "real" life I am a very private person. I am not one to strike up personal conversations with people. It's hard dealing with someone who is "depressed". You just want to shake them and go "WHY?" She is a definitely a moody person. I've tried to not make a big deal out of it with her, she has had counseling on and off for a couple of years now. She has highs and lows. Somethings she has done have really shook me up. She has not branded herself, but she has cut, which is (to me) almost the same thing, since it leaves behind a mark that will be a permanent reminder of sadder times. When the girls at her school find out someone cuts, they count them, and then slap the cuts (10 cuts, 10 slaps) as a form of punishment. I find this bizzare, if you know it's not smart to do it, don't do it! I have been told (by her pastor and counselors) that it is a form of addiction. Depression is something that seems to run pretty strong in my family, so I have dealt with this on a variety of scary levels. It is not fun to feel like your family is always the "odd one". Literally the Adams family. (maiden name!!!)

Mornin' Peeps!

I am so freaking tired I sucked back my coffee so fast I burned my tongue and now I can't taste anything :scared: I kicked booty at the gym last night and all said and done, burned about 700 calories in just over 2 hours. I am feeling it today. I ran last night and it is starting to get a little bit easier. Either that or it was the diet Red Bull I tossed back before I left the house . Hey, whatever works...

It looks like we will be getting our first bit of snow tomorrow. Perfect timing since it is my birthday and I LOVE snow. My DMIL is having a birthday dinner for me tonight so I am trying to save most of my calories for tonight but am already starving. Not good! I just have to make it 2 more hours and then I can have lunch.

I will have to figure out how to post videos. My 20 month old is obsessed with the Pirates of the Carribean song and wakes up every morning and sits in his crib singing, "yo, yo , yo ,yo, meeeeeee". It is very funny. I am going to try to catch it on video tomorrow morning.

Pakey, I am so sorry to hear about your aunt  . How is your mom and cousin holding up?

Melinda, thanks for quiche recipe. I might actually try it for a party we are having at work. It looks simple enough but I am a horrible cook. Even the dogs are leary of my food.

MaPiglet, so how much snow did you guys get in MA? I would love to move north but my entire family is here and my mom would hunt me down if I took her grandbabies that far from her. DH and I are tentatively planning a trip to Vermont for February so I can get my snow fix.

Shannon, I love the POly!! That is the only resort we stayed at when I was a kid. DH and I honeymooned there as well. He grew up going to the Contemporary which I like but it doesn't have the same "feel" as the Poly. Now that we have the kiddos we are looking into a DVC to help save some $$$. Have a wonderful time!! I am very jealous!! I hope you are healthy again soon.

My2boys, how did the exam go? I miss school. I could be a perpetual student. I really should have gotten a nursing degree. Instead I did biology and concentrated in ornithology. I don't use my dgree AT ALL for my job. It is sad. I just noticed that your first WDW trip is coming up. Are the boys super excited?

Punkin, I don't know if you are still taking your picture poll but I agree with the masses; number 2.

Kat. can you come and take care of my closet? I hate organizing my clothes. I just got rid of a ton that I had stashed in the attic but I have not touched my closet yet other than to pack up my maternity clothes.

DisneyObsession, Did you ever get any snow? If memory serves me right and the weather guy was correct, you guys should be getting slammed today. Enjoy the winter wonderland!! I am with you on staying home today. Tom is visiting me as well and a good book and a comfy blanket is all I want at the moment. I need to win the lotto...

MRN's Mommy, how did you do getting that huge list of errands done? Just think you will be in WDW in no time at all!:cheer2:

WI Disney fan, thanks for putting together the weight loss chart...very nice!

UM, thanks for the book suggestions. I am a huge Anne Rice fan but I have read all of her books and am looking for an author that does the same kind of books. I tried reading the Laurel Hamilton vampire books and the first few were pretty good but then they just got stupid.

Monica, Congrats on the new tile. I love doing home improvements. We are going to completely renovate our bathroom the week after Christmas. It is so much work but I love it when it is done. We try to do one big project every year. I can't wait to see pictures of your new kitchen.

Laura, good luck with your weigh-in. Sorry your DS' coach is such an idiot. Why do people like that choose to coach in the first place?

Sandy, I hope you are feeling better. I may have missed it, but they ever figure out why you are getting so dizzy? Good luck on your hunt for a $10 live tree. The average cost for one here is between $40 - $50, hence our decision to get an artificial tree.

Have a great day everyone!

Kim

B2B -- Happy almost bday! I hope you get your snow, but please keep it at your house! I have to commute down 95/40 corridor and don't want to see a flake!!!

I hate snow -- shoveling, driving... ughh...

:) MJ

Hi Peeps, :wave2:

I know I have been MIA for a while, but I had to travel for work last week, and spent the week in NYC!! Which WOULD have been exciting except for the fact that I came back.............. on crutches!!! :scared1:

SOMEHOW, I managed to severely pull my hamstring and calf while in NYC (:confused3 guess it was all the walking), so by the time I came back home, I pretty much couldn't walk at all, and my SO had to meet me at the train station with crutches.

So... I guess I won't be weighing in for a while because I can't really workout or anything for at least the next 1.5 to 2 months.( :cool1: oh wait... I think I'm supposed to be sad about that... :guilty: :lmao: )

Anyway, take a look at my ticker, I leave for WDW in less than two weeks to celebrate "the big 3-0", and I'm determined to have fun, darn it... even if it means I have to be in an ECV...

It took me a while to catch up on all the goings on here while I was away.

pixiedust: and :grouphug: to those who need it.

I've been :rotfl: at some of the things I've been reading this morning (the "Snow White" story was hilarious).

:dance3: for those who are celebrating getting closer to their goals and upcoming trips to the world.

We only got about an inch where i am..just enough to slick up the roads but look pretty on the trees..its all but melted now. It is super cold today though so there are slick spots on the road..Vermont is so fun and pretty in the winter! :)

Hi Peeps, :wave2:
Nice to "see " you again!!! :) Sorry to hear about your ankle/calf though..ouch!!!
You have the right attitude though..NOTHING should stop you from enjoying yourself at WDW:thumbsup2
