Danielle What and where is MAD TV. I'm obviously way too old.
11 pm Saturday night on Fox.

Kat-Love the car.

Mony-Good luck with cooking for tomorrow.

Pigget-Sorry about the screamathon! Hope the shot does the trick.

And hurray for Twinkie's little guy!

Aaron, Right there with you on the Christmas goal. Oh well. At least when I went to the gym today the mysterious gained 1 1/2 lbs from last weekend had disappeared.

Everyone have a great Thanksgiving. Drink lots of water to slow you down and fill you up. And enjoy every bite that you take.

Hi all!
Congrats on the new Baby peep! And Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Thought it might be a good time to talk about the wonderful world of wieght loss while I was non-DISing....

Basically I was MIA for almost 6 weeks and in that time my boyfriend of 6 years and I finally moved in together (remember the pics?)...

I have actually been much better not at home.
Rob and I go to the gym together twice a week, he keeps me much more on track then I keep myself. And I try to prepare good meals for us. We do snack but I have to admit that I have been thinking about it a lot more and make it few and far between... or try and reach for something healthy first.

During the work week I have been using Slim Fast. I know meal replacement is a no-no here but I need the easy meals and the practice in self control. My basic goals from here until the end of the year is to quit eating candy during the work day, work out a little harder at the gym, and jumpstart my wieght loss.

This sounds much easier than it will be once I start Christmas baking. ;)

Oh, and BTW, I tried to fill up on good for you foods today to deter me from heavy eating of the buttery stuff tomorrow. Friday will be the first time I weigh myself in like almost 2 months! I am hoping for a loss from, if nothing less the last week!

Ok- I feel better now, hopefully saying this to you guys will keep me on track tomorrow!

:thumbsup2

Meal replacement is a no-no here? I personally think that anything that helps you lose weight (short of eating disorders, illegal drugs, etc) is a good thing. Slimfast is certainly better for you than a Big Mac!!

Glad to see you back! :goodvibes

MRNsNikki I hope you are feeling better soon. I had the exact same thing starting on Friday night and it wasn't until today that I felt normal again. I never really got icky sick but I just kept feeling like it was coming. I have terrible allergies and sinus problems so it's hard for me to differentiate but I know I felt ucky. Hopefully you'll be fine before Thanksgiving.

And I do intervals on the treadmill, combining running and walking. I also start out on the highest incline and work myself down as I grow weary. Most nights I only do 4-5 miles; I have to be very motivated to get up to 6. I don't know why but some days are easier than others.
I'm feeling somewhat better today, but not 100%...apparently this thing is making it's way around where I live!
How long did it take you to work up to 5 miles on the treadmill...I just started up again after the baby, so I'm thinking that's why I get so worn out so quickly!

Nikki....Sorry you're feeling rotten! We all had the vomiting virus the week of Thanksgiving last year. I hope you're feeling better soon and it gives your diet a boost....for Hawaii!!!
It has helped...I lost 2 lbs. yesterday...but I'm sure I'll gain that plus some back tomorrow! :sad2:

I WISH!!! No my 9YO and I are going to DW for a girls only trip and doing the 5K through AK. (see my ticker;) )
Hey...I'd take DW, too! And I sooo want to do a girls only trip to DW!

Well, it's officially Thursday here...so ...
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I just posted my TR update AND gave you guys a shout out at a perfect time!!!!

HAPPPY THANKSGIVING

Rebekah is doing much better :cool1:

Off to finish making apple pies and cleaning my house. 30 people will be here at noon.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, PEEPS!

Heather....So glad the baby is better! 30 people at your house! :scared1:
And you with a 7 week old baby? Did no one else volunteer to do it this year???

Mel....I think meal replacement is fine. I just prefer food! For the calories that is. BUT. I agree the Dr. Oz who suggests that you "automate" your food choices. I call it a no brainer. For me, it's easy to eat a Lean Cuisine or some of the redneck-at-home lean cuisines that I make to help during the week. If Slim Fast works for you then....more power to you! :thumbsup2

Shannon...So glad your cousin got back into the program. Your mom is a saint!

EVERYBODY ELSE..... :grouphug:

HERE'S SOME PUMPKIN PIE FROM ME.

HAVE A GREAT THANKSGIVING!!!

I perfer it here so I said I wanted to do it. Usually we have 2 different meals--one with each family. I decided why not have everyone come to one meal. It makes it much easier and my kids are home and can a nap in their bed.

Thanks for the card.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING PEEPS!!

Quiet day here...just DH, DS, my Mom and me! Strange when the kids are married and at their in-laws for the holidays! Turkey's in the oven, pumpkin pie is made and now to get the potatoes peeled!!!

Have a great day!!! :goodvibes

Morning peeps. For all of you who are working away today making a meal, I'm sending a shout-out to ya'll (and a double shout-out to you Monica for doing it without a kitchen).

I'm off the movies to see August Rush with my cousin and aunt. DH is golfing. All DS's are eating elsewhere (enough years with me and the they know not to expect a traditional meal here).

For my final week of the Thanksgiving challenge, I am down -1.

Aaron, I want to set my Christmas challenge at 5 lbs. I'm doing so well I hope I don't get derailed next week in Las Vegas.

See, my problem is that I was eating a Cafe Steamer from Lean Cuisine for lunch each day ($3.50), Having a Cottage Cheese double ($1.00) and Kashi granola bar ($1.00) for breakfast... that was adding up to like $30 each work week and I was ALWAYS starving when I went home anyhow. Now I have the slim-fast for the breakfast and lunch at work ($6-7 for 14 servings- lasts me about 3 work weeks) and then have something small when I get home since thats what I was doing anyway, and I have a big mug of Lady Grey tea with splenda at work as well. So far so good, I hope-- I am holding my breath for Thanksgiving (I think I can, I think I can)

That reminds me, I thought of this the other day-- have we ever done a recipe exchange here on the Peep thread? I thought it would be a great idea to have like a recipe week where everyone can post up there best healthy recipes? This way it would be easier to print or one of us could put them all into a word doc and post it up here?

In any case-- Happy Thanksgiving!!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving celebrating with family and friends! My official weigh in for this week (taken yesterday morning because I just knew what I ate yesterday would weigh me down) resulted in me being a samer this week. So that means my Christmas goal will be to lose 4.2 pounds, to finally reach 175. Yup, basically the same stinkin' goal I made for myself two months ago.

Happy weigh in everyone!

I'm down 2.4! Yay!
It would be more, but yesterday will probably catch up to me next week.

Good Morning Peeps!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!! I am quite sure I was WELL over my calorie limit. Oh well. I forgot to weigh-in this morning. I will hop on the scale first thing in the morning and report the dreaded results tomorrow. :scared1:

At least today will be super quiet at work. That makes for some good Dising ;) Good luck to those of you partaking in the Black Friday madness. I am too much of a wuss to brave that insanity. I finished all of my shopping on Wednesday. This is the first year I won't be running around the mall like a crazy person the week of Christmas.

Have a great day everyone!

Congrrats to those of you who lose this week!!!! Great Job!!!

Good Morning Peeps,

I didn't get a chance to post yesterday, because I had no internet access, but I hope everyone had a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING. :)

I also wanted to say that, somehow, someway... a miracle happened. I got on the scale yesterday (AFTER eating yummy food) and I lost 4 pounds from last week!!!! :dance3: Which means that I MADE MY THANKSGIVING GOAL!!!!

I had given up on making it, because I only had my 1st loss of 1.2 pounds last week. This 4 pounds is probably water weight, but I'LL TAKE IT!! :rotfl2:

I haven't done a weigh-in for today yet, but I just had to share this news. This is really major for me! :cool1:

I have to admit that I am afraid of the scale today!

My first Peep weigh in is ....... I gained .2 lb according to WW on Tuesday (that's my weigh in day). Hopefully next week I can report a loss. My turkey day was nice. I didn't do too bad at dinner but had two pieces of pie, one pumpkin and one apple crumb
