MRMsMommy - Welcome for you too. I go to meetings but I love the online stuff. I use the points tracker, weight tracker and even used the recipe builder to get the points for a dish I made. What do you do?

I just do it online. I wish I had time to go to meetings, but w/ a three-year-old and a newborn, I just don't right now. I love how convenient it all is, though, online. It's been the only "diet" that I've been able to stick to (for the most part anyway).

a.) YAY on the jeans!
b.) WHAT hidden Mickey's????? What part? I did not know this :sad2:
I know right..i didn't see them the first time. Its the last shot of the movie when they pan over to the sign of the new restaurant " Ratatoulie" The holes on the top of the sign are shaped like the classic Mickey heads! I had to pause it and i looked at it real close, and they totally were Mickey's! :)

Ok as promised here is my picture from Christmas of 2006. I joined WW in March 07. Thanks for all of your warm welcomes. I need support. Not that DH doesn't give it to me or anything because he does but when you have a lot of lose sometimes people can't understand. Even my mom is a great supporter but she is thin and never had to lose over 100 lb.

Super cute family!!!!!

Wow. I could have said the same exact thing- well, about the getting married part. Although my ex and I have only been broken up for maybe 2 1/2 months... he's already purchased a house and given the homewrecker a 2 CARAT engagement ring! :confused3
Although I didn't at the begining, I'm finding this quite hilarious now. And to top it off - I got a Facebook friend request from her yesterday! :rotfl2: I sent her a message saying that I didn't want to be mean - but why the friend request. And get this - her response was "I didn't do anything personal to you, and you didn't do anything to me. We're both adults." Um... yeah. I'd say breaking up my home and relationship with someone is something personal. But it takes 2 to tango. He's just as guilty as she is.

Wow..she had a lot of nerve to request your "friendship" via Facebook. What a weirdo..you have such a good attitude about it though...and are totally better off without either of them in your new and improved life!

I'd like to join too. My name is Laura and I have about 150 lb to lose. I am on WW and have lost 9 lb so far. I was up to 18 lb but in the summer I gained half back. Now I am back on track and ready to go. So glad I can some support in my weight loss and Disney at the same time. How cool is that?:thumbsup2

WELCOME!!!!!!! i don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but weigh-ins are on fridays. if you're doing WW then you probably already do a weekly weigh-in. just post your progress on this board every friday in big, bold numbers. wendy (utahmama) or sometimes melinda (if wendy's elsewhere) keeps a tally of our total lost. you'll love it here! and your family is beautiful! so are you!!!

Dawn The reason I haven't been into a grocery store in years is that I've been a very selfish person. Before cancer, I worked close to 16 hours a day, 6, sometimes 7, days a week. So I never had time to do anything. I felt that because I was the big bread winner, I was justified in working all of the time and ignoring everyone and everything. Then I got sick and am just getting back on my feet, really. I'm not going back to the old me but I still haven't been to the grocery store yet. I'm almost intimidated by it now!!!!

i'm just glad you're getting back on your feet!!! sometimes we take for granted the simplest things...like going to the grocery store. makes me see it in a whole new light!

Starting Over:

Hi, my name is Monica. I just had baby number 4. I'm done nursing. I'm done having kids. I'm done making excuses why I have only lost 2 pounds of the pregnancy weight these last 3 months.

I'd like to be a part of this group and actually lose weight. I don't want to be just a cheerleader. I want to be part of the team too.

I need to lose 50 pounds. Yikes!

I need to stay away from my kids Halloween candy. (will they just hurry up and eat it already. What's wrong with them. Can't they just stuff their little faces like any other child? Didn't their mother teach them anything?)

I'm too depressed to post a picture.

you can do it, monica!!!!! it sounds like your mind is in the right place....now you just have to stick with it. climb back on this wagon, girl! :goodvibes

He's just as guilty as she is.

i can soooooooo relate to this! once DH (my then boyfriend) and i broke up and he kinda dated this other girl that worked at the same restaurant i did. it was really shady though because when i asked her about it she lied and said they weren't dating, when DH had already told me he was seeing her. plus obviously it hurt me to see him with someone else. more drama ensued, then their relationship ended up fizzling out rather quickly. DH and i eventually got back together and the girl comes up to me one day at work and says, "dawn, i really want to be friends with you." i just looked at her and said, "listen, i can deal with coming to work and being nice enough to work with you, but there's no reason for us to be friends. just know that what goes around comes around and i hope i'm here to see it happen to you." granted i was like 20 years old and probably a little immature about the situation. but a few months later her boyfriend ended up seeing another girl behind her back and i have to admit that felt really good! :guilty:

Seriously! Why can't they make kegs of margaritas or martinis?!?

 i think you're on to something!!!!! :thumbsup2

I have the same problem area that you mentioned in your first post! I also know I'll never be a size 4, and that's not my goal. I just want to get rid of the thunder thighs! Care to pass your knowledge along...What kind of work out routine do you do?

well, i still have the ba-dunk-a-dunk butt and the thunder thighs.....those are never gonna go away. they've just kinda gotten smaller. i've found that doing more cardio than weight training helps me drop the weight. once i get to the weight i wanna be, i'm gonna start focuing on the firming more. i can't run long distances so i usually do interval training on the treadmill....3 minutes walking, 3 minutes running, 3 minutes running and so on for about 45 minutes. i also do a lot of weight training, but not heavy weights. the fitness trainer at my gym (the one who i mentioned is opening an anytime fitness) does awesome classes with weights and the movement is to music, so it's a LOT of reps with small weights. that gets your heartrate up and helps with toning without giving you the bulk that heavy weights do (for example, i do 15 pounds on biceps, but i do LOTS of reps....like constant movement to a 5-minute song). she used to be a body pump instructor and a lot of her classes are similar. if you don't know what body pump is, here's a video. they're not speaking english but you get the idea.....

Laura, I love the picture. You remind me of one of my BFFs, Debbie. She's the only person outside of my immediate family I will share time with at WDW, so you know she's a fantastic person.
i found my first post! it was on 3/1. i weighed 160 then and now i'm at 131 so i've lost 29 pounds. after this quote i got SOOOOOO many good tips from you guys, the two most important being count your calories and drink LOTS of water. THANK YOU, PEEPS!!!!!! you really did help me with this weight loss and i'm so thankful for it! :grouphug:
You're inspiring me, because we started at the same weight, and look how far you've come. I grabbed my tracker just now and wrote down everything I have eaten today. Not great, but not a train wreck yet, and now I can turn it around. Thanks, Dawn.

well, i still have the ba-dunk-a-dunk butt and the thunder thighs.....those are never gonna go away. they've just kinda gotten smaller.

When you weigh 130, that's called bootylicious. It just means you have a shape, girl. That's why Frederick's of Hollywood sells those padded panties.

And a funny thing about the Body Pump video. They played that song in my daughter's parade, and i said it was the goatherd song from The Sound of Music. My family all laughed at me until they looked up the video and saw that I was right.

Welcome and your picture of the family is wonderful.

I just do it online. I wish I had time to go to meetings, but w/ a three-year-old and a newborn, I just don't right now. I love how convenient it all is, though, online. It's been the only "diet" that I've been able to stick to (for the most part anyway).

I could not do the online--I need to pay someone to make me get on scales and say---you have gained or lost. I started back at the meetings last week. Weigh in tomorrow.

I have had a rough weekend. Joshua got sick very quickly on Friday. That afternoon he was fine--by 6 he was having coughin fits and a runny nose. He woke at 2:30 and had a breathing treatment by 4. That afternoon he was running a 102 temp so I took him to Dr. He has severe asthmatic bronchitus along with the crud. By Sat. night his temp was close to 105. I think his fever has broken si we will see how ht enight goes. He has been very clingy and whiney. He woke at 1:30 this morning and by the time he went back to sleep Rebekah had woken up to nurse. When that was over the rest of the house was waking up. So it has been a LONG DAY!! DH is gone and won't return until Sunday---:scared1

Have to go force medicine and breathing treatment--hopefully he won't puke on me again :headache:

I have read elsewhere on the Dis that this was a very encouraging thread for support for healthy eating and getting exercise. I'd like to join, if that's okay! :flower3:

My name is Angie and I am a 34 y.o. SAHM of 3 amazing kids. We live in chilly Minnesota- we had our first snowflakes this past week- nothing stayed on the ground, but I really didn't want to see it. :scared1:

I am a family photographer and love doing it! If you care to see my website you can find it here: www.angbarclayphotography.com I also love to scrapbook and create projects for my family and my kids.

I am about to start WW along with my mom. I have a bit more to lose than she does, but she is giving me an incentive to lose the weight and stay on track- money towards a new camera- a Canon 40D. :cheer2: I have taken over 53,000 pictures on my 20D in the last year and a half and it is taking its toll. :sad2:

I can't wait to join in on this thread- hopefully it will be the push I have been looking for! :thumbsup2

I was actually worried last night about your dog! Poor paw. Hope she's better!

As for the boy, good riddance. Aloof game player. Tell him "You're just not in to him" anymore, his loss. If your situation was ME, the boy ironically would get married to someone else in the very near future :upsidedow . God has hand picked a great guy for you, I'll bet. Hopefully, he's not the dude you flipped off on the freeway one time (just kidding ;) )

Thanks for the Phoebe concern! I took her to the Vet this morning like a worried mama. The Vet couldn't even find the scrape  I got up and looked with him and voila there it was...already starting to heal! I swear last night it was raw and now it was pretty much normal pad color (black) and a little pink in one spot :confused3 I felt a little silly, but he did say it was good we brought her in. He was a little confused that she was still limping occasionally on it but gave us no meds and did not tests. And my puppy gained 5 lbs since April! Yikes. Maybe she should become a Peep. Actually she is not fat at all but I guess she is maturing and filling out. The Vet did say to keep her off rough surfaces (i.e. our concrete patio) and no rough playing and running. Yeah like that is going to happen. This puppy wakes up and the first thing she does is find a ball to fetch.

And thanks about the boy advice. I didn't call him back because a) I was annoyed that he took 3 weeks to return a message and b) I was seeing him tonight in class. We got stuck in the student room together for a bit and he was kinda chatty with me, more than he's been in awhile. And he told me I looked good with my hair down :confused3 . I almost fell for it...he was thisclose to reeling me in. But whatever. I can't deal with this. I had just come to the realization that it wasn't meant to be and "got over him"...and then this. I'm not calling him back.

hope phoebe is feeling better! let us know. i'm actually going to the vet this morning, too, but it's just to take eli in to check his progress on the appetite suppressant he's been on. he still looks fat to me, but we'll see.

and about the boy, i'd seriously call him and thank him for calling, but that you are just too busy to have a relationship right now. i understand the guy's busy, but gimme a break. someone can't pick up the phone and return a call????? that's a pet peeve of mine. i hate talking on the phone, but i always return people's calls.

Thanks...see above comment.

WELCOME!!!!!

Shannon, glad that Phoebe is feeling a bit better, and hope that the vet appt went well. My kitty is my baby so I totally understand the worrying.

Thanks...see above for an update!

Wonders- And I know my opinion doesn't mean squat... but I agree with UtahMama. It's taken a lot of soul searching on my part to realize that things happen for a reason. Sometimes God puts us thru a little heck to spare us from even bigger hurts. And you (like us all) deserve someone who is going to return phone calls in a timely manner, amongst other things. :goodvibes

Thanks...see above for my thoughts. I know that when I meet that person, it will feel right and I will know it and I won't have to make it seem like "the one". He will be "the one".

:lmao: too funny about the sound of music! i'll have to look into that! thanks for all your comments about the bootyliciousness. i got it honestly from my mama! :rotfl: i'm so glad i inspired you! i didn't mean to but i'm glad i did!!! :goodvibes

I have had a rough weekend. Joshua got sick very quickly on Friday.

 hope joshua is feeling better soon! everybody's sick lately!

WELCOME!!!!!!! you'll love it here! we weigh in on fridays, so weigh yourself this friday and remember that number, then compare it to the number next friday and post what you've lost or gained or if you've stayed the same. you'll see how it's done this friday! you don't have to post your weight - just what you've lost or gained. and of course just post away so we can get to know you better!

i don't remember if i told you guys this, but eli gained .7 pounds this month. :sad2: the vet says i shouldn't get discouraged....that it takes a long time for the appetite suppressant to really make a difference. i didn't tell the vet this, but i noticed eli licking up some beer yesterday that had kind of gathered around the bottom of the keg and we all know how many calories beer has!!!! (for the newbies......eli is my overweight beagle. i didn't want you guys to think i was letting my child drink beer off the ground! :lmao: )

I have had a rough weekend. Joshua got sick very quickly on Friday............ DH is gone and won't return until Sunday---:scared1

Have to go force medicine and breathing treatment--hopefully he won't puke on me again :headache:

Poor little guy! I hope he feels better...it's so hard when thier sick. Hopefully Sunday will get here fast for you.:flower3:

. And to top it off - I got a Facebook friend request from her yesterday! :rotfl2: I sent her a message saying that I didn't want to be mean - but why the friend request. And get this - her response was "I didn't do anything personal to you, and you didn't do anything to me. We're both adults." ....................Not that I'm saying anyone HAS to read them - but the books "He's Just Not That In To You" and "It's Called A Break-up Because It's Broken" are really good. Harsh truths with a comedic spin.

Some people are just to much. A friend request? That is :sad2: :scared1:  and  . I don't understand that.....what does being an adult have to do with wanting her for a friend? Hasn't she ever heard of "with friends like that, who needs enemies?" And your right, it does take two. I'll bet your next "one" will be wonderful, and you'll know what not to look for. My best friend is going through the end of her 18 year relationship with her exhusband, (confusing, I know) and I will definitely suggest those books. The titles look pretty good. Sometimes if we hear the advise from someone else, (3rd party) it seems to make more sense. I tell her that there is somebody out there that is so much better for her, she won't even remember why she thought she wanted him back. I remember when you first posted, and then you didn't post for a while...I wondered what happened. I'm so glad your doing well. My friend is just starting (a little, just baby steps) to think that maybe dating or being free of him might not really be so bad. Every happy moment is like a revelation, like, heeey, I can be happy without him, look at me, this could actually be a good thing. It's almost like sending your little one off to school for the first time, it makes you so happy for them to see them take those steps to independence, and you just know that even though they are scared, they will have fun and make new friends. :cheer2:

well, i still have the ba-dunk-a-dunk butt and the thunder thighs.....those are never gonna go away. they've just kinda gotten smaller. i've found that doing more cardio than weight training helps me drop the weight. once i get to the weight i wanna be, i'm gonna start focuing on the firming more. i can't run long distances so i usually do interval training on the treadmill....3 minutes walking, 3 minutes running, 3 minutes running and so on for about 45 minutes. i also do a lot of weight training, but not heavy weights. the fitness trainer at my gym (the one who i mentioned is opening an anytime fitness) does awesome classes with weights and the movement is to music, so it's a LOT of reps with small weights. that gets your heartrate up and helps with toning without giving you the bulk that heavy weights do (for example, i do 15 pounds on biceps, but i do LOTS of reps....like constant movement to a 5-minute song). she used to be a body pump instructor and a lot of her classes are similar. if you don't know what body pump is, here's a video. they're not speaking english but you get the idea.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZKCn6EHWlZ4

thanks for the video...even if I couldn't understand a word they were saying!:rotfl: Like you said, I know I will never be completely rid of the ba-dunk-a-dunk either, but I would like it to be more toned. I'm doing the same as you right now by doing more cardio...I do about 45 min to an hour of interval training on the treadmill and then about 20 minutes or so (sometimes longer) on the stationary bike each day. I think I'll do like you said, though, and concentrate on making the area smaller first before I worry about toning it up. So, I guess it's a good thing they don't make kegs of martinis or margaritas b/c I'd NEVER lose the weight then!

And a funny thing about the Body Pump video. They played that song in my daughter's parade, and i said it was the goatherd song from The Sound of Music. My family all laughed at me until they looked up the video and saw that I was right.
Now I've got to go back and re-watch the video to pay attention to the song again! :rotfl2:

I could not do the online--I need to pay someone to make me get on scales and say---you have gained or lost. I started back at the meetings last week. Weigh in tomorrow.

Welcome! I'm doing WW, too, as well as a few others here...so, hopefully, we can all keep each other on track.
Good luck on losing the wt fast so that you can get your new Canon! I have one and I just love it! I don't even have my own photography business (although it's something I've thought long and hard about...thinking of doing it once my newborn is a little older), and I've taken probably about half that many pics this year myself. My 40D has held up well to my abuse so far! :)
I'm off to check out your site...I'm always looking for fresh ideas! So, beware...I may just steal one!;)

Why are guys like this??? It's like he sensed you were pulling away, and nooo, he still wanted a little attention. On his terms. Guys are definitely from Mars. How is matchbook working ? After reading some of your other posts, I told my friend she should give it a try. She hasn't been in the "dating" scene in quite some time. Where does someone go to meet a nice man? Really feeling a loss here that I can't help her. Where ARE nice men looking for nice women nowadays? Anyone? There needs to be a niceman.com registry. Maybe have some sort of qualifiers, like recommendations from x amount of females, a doctor's note stating sound mental health, stamp of approval from the boss, you know, all the good stuff. Really though, I would like to give her some ideas  , if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to pass them on.

I just started back at WW last week. Hopefull I will get to go weigh in tonight.:welcome: to the group. It is more than just getting rid of the weight--it is a great family here.
Is Joshua your 2-year-old? Either way, sorry he is sick, but I have a three-year-old and know how much harder it is when a toddler gets sick. Hope he gets well soon!

Yes, he is my 2 year old. I bribed him last night so I wouldn't have to fight him to get it in.
GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

My mom works and she is having surgerry tomorrow. His mom---lests jsut say I would rather be sleep deprived.

He is doing better today--he did wake 2x's last night---One time he was screaming and running through the house--by the time I got to him he was trying to get out the back door---I guess he had a dream that I was leaving since he was calling out my name. He is doing better--no more fever :thumbsup2 so that means no lab work at dr's today.

Rebekah is getting very congested-a little worried since she is only 6wks and has not had shots yet.

Thank you. I didn't know weigh-ins were Friday. My weigh-in for WW is Tuesday but I will not be going today because my DS6 has bronchitis and has 102 fever, coughing, is on antibiotics, steroids, alburterol. The whole nine yards. I was good this week but I will have to skip this weigh-in, I don't own a scale.

Laura, I love the picture. You remind me of one of my BFFs, Debbie. She's the only person outside of my immediate family I will share time with at WDW, so you know she's a fantastic person.
You're inspiring me, because we started at the same weight, and look how far you've come. I grabbed my tracker just now and wrote down everything I have eaten today. Not great, but not a train wreck yet, and now I can turn it around. Thanks, Dawn.

Thanks, you put a smile on my face today. We can inspire each other.:thumbsup2

Welcome and your picture of the family is wonderful.

Thank you

DH is gone and won't return until Sunday---:scared1Have to go force medicine and breathing treatment--hopefully he won't puke on me again :headache:

Poor baby, read my above post about why I cannot go to WW today. My baby is sick too.

:scared1
