Hello!
Can anyone chime in on their experience with Cartagena on board time and the time the ship actually leaves. I was fortunate enough to be on the TA in November where we got to spend the night in a corona and I’m wondering if DCL actually stays overnight in Cartagena even though we have to be back on board by 23:58 or do we sail away soon after? I get there is fees to stay in port over night and so forth that’s why I’m asking because 23:58 seems very odd. Thanks! Cheers!

Are you talking about a Panama Canal cruise? I don't think DCL would overnight in Cartegna, and if your app says 23:58, it sounds like it's a glitch, since usually their onboard times are usually on the hour or half-hour (occasionally quarter-hour, but never as specific as 58 minutes).

I just checked the website and per the itineraries listed, they're in port 8:30am-1pm for the 2026 WBPC, 9am-5:30pm for the 2026 EBPC, and 7am-12pm for the 2027 WBPC. The port time is shorter on the WBPC because they need to be in position for their canal crossing reservation the next morning, so those would likely to be firm departure times.

In my experience, DCL rarely overnights at a port unless the weather/sea is too turbulent to safely depart (such as you experienced on the WBTA in Coruna).

I just remembered that the Dream is stopping in Cartagena, Spain on the EBTA (I forgot there is another Cartagena than the one in Colombia, lol). The website shows that itinerary as 8am-6pm, so it still sounds like 23:58 is a glitch.

I assume it’s because DCL can’t put midnight into their system for some reason.

I’m doing an overnight in Valletta this year and it’s very clear (well, to me, I’ve seen other people not understand this) that we leave at 2.45am the following day.

It shows as something like
Valletta 1pm to 11.58pm
And then the next day
Valletta 12am to 2.45am

So I think you will be leaving at midnight if it says 11.58pm and then nothing the following day.
