DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Good Morning Peeps,

I'm a SAMER :sad2:

DING DING DING!!! We've got a winner! And for that, you get a 1-year free membership to the DISBoards. Congratulations!

Yay!!! I won!!!

My son, 26, still lives with us. He is bipolar and has an up and down life that he shares with us, even when we don't want it.

My mom is bipolar, so I completely understand where you are coming from and what you are dealing with. Having a mom (or child, etc) with this disorder makes for an interesting (and not necessarily always in a good way) life. I actually currently don't have much contact with my mother as a result of her illness and some of the issues I've had to deal with, with her. I got tired of being the parent in the relationship, and it came down to my sanity or her sanity, and I (for the first time in my 30 years) chose myself over her, and she's not happy about it...

I'll do another mini-bio:

I'm Shannon, 27 years old. I'm a binger and compulsive over eater. I think I have a lot more issues with food that I realize.

I am also a binger (and occasional purger... :scared1: ... I know, I know... it's bad)

I have soooo many issues with food. I also have OCD and most of my obsessions and compulsions are related to food (I will cry and have a complete meltdown if my food touches and I can't get them apart... like if vegetables end up in my mashed potatoes, etc, I also have to finish everything on my plate at the same time... like, when I am almost done with my food, if you look at my plate, you will see that I will have ONE BITE of everything left on my plate... I cried when I was little and my mom gave me too much of a particular food, because it would mess up my eating pattern, because I just HAVE to finish everything at the same time.)

Anyway, here's a bio (again)...

- My name is LaTia (but most everyone calls me Tia)
- I am a classically trained opera singer
- I am currently a full time Makeup Artist and Salon Manager
- I am also in the process of getting licensed as a hairstylist
- I am gluten intolerant/Celiac (meaning I can't eat anything with wheat, oats, barley, or rye)
- I will be 30 years old on Dec. 18
- I have been overweight all of my life (I was wearing a women's size 18 when I was in the 7th grade)
- I am not married yet (much to my parents' chagrin...)
- I LOVE DISNEY... but, of course, who doesn't on these boards??

And I think that about sums me up in a nutshell... *does that make me a nut???** :lmao:

Lost 1.2

Thanks goodness! I'm still .8 away from getting that 214 back. I'm not sure if 5 pounds by thanksgiving will be possible, but I'm going to try.
I'm going out of town next week for business so maybe I'll be inspired to use the work out room at the hotel. Hopefully.
And not be inspired to drink a lot like I usually do.

Pakey - I feel you on the bipolar fun. Your andy has a really full crest for a crested! I want to see a full picture of him!

Purse addicts - Have you seen the ones that have an interchangeable scarf? Hmm. I don't know what they're called. Some lady comes to our office to sell jewlery and sells them too. They're only 30 bucks or so and SOOOO cute.
I don't even carry a purse, but I wanted one real bad.
I was good and didn't buy it though because I'm trying my best to get out of debt.

punkin - I mised the drama with the reception. it's for your wonderwoman friend, right?
the new place looks nice.

mrnsmommy - I was so proud of myself! I finished a needlepoint Ive been working on since March! woo! I had to get something for my mom to have under the tree - we took her with us on our trip in September and spent over 500 bucks on her - so we told her no way was she getting anything for christmas. this will make me feel better to have something to wrap.
Now I have to finish Twinkiemama's present - her baby is due any day now!
and then I have to finish MommyPoppins present - her baby is due in December.

mmmm. sushi.
mmmmm. margaritas.
Two things I can't have anymore.
Sometimes I still eat sushi - I just push the good stuff out of the roll so I don't eat the rice.

mjmouse - my poor riley does not look like a perfect westie either - he has really thin hair around his face and they are supossed to have a really thick almost mane looking hair.
Oh well.
I still love him!

Lex kills me- she posts at 5:15 AM (no telling what time it really was) and says she's late. :rotfl2:

Sandy - Basmati rice is REALLY good. Too bad I can't eat it anymore.
has almost a popcorn flavor.
Hope you're feeling better soon!

Wendy - You are welcome!!!!!! You know I'm going to post it one more time when I get to that part on my trip report. :lmao: And I told you before - you always look fabulous to me!

tia - I have a very close friend who has celiac's. It's rough! I also know abou tthe family memeber who is bi polar - once my parents are gone, I know my sister will end up with me. Thank goodness Tammy understands this. She's not happy about it, but she understands.
I just hope we have enough money by that point to be able to afford to keep her seperate from us.

Well, I'm -.8 lbs. I would have checked in last Friday, but I was half way to NYC by this time! My 2 week loss total is -3.2.

Ok- I'll play.

My name is Gina, and I'm no longer hoping to get engaged. I am a security administrator for a defense contractor and I love it! I believe that family is the most important thing in life, and I'm glad that I didn't kill my younger sister when we were little because now she (and mom) is my bestest friend. I hate to cook, but LOVE to bake. Which is why I'm on this board! I've eaten too many of my "experiments". :lmao: Since March, I've lost 48 lbs. And most of that was lost after my long time boyfriend and I broke up. I love being with family and friends and having a good time. I love to travel- I want to see so much more of the world (the real one - not just Disney!) before I die - and that was a problem for the ex-bf. Like everyone else - I love Disney. I lost most of the movies in the break-up, so I'm pretty much having to start from scratch on that front. I love flannel sheets. Even in the summer! One of my favorite things to do is curl up with a magazine and the remote and settle in for a little bit. I am mostly a lurker on these boards. I tend to be totally random! The first picture is of me on July 4th - at about 218lbs- excuse the jerk beside me. The second picture was taken this past weekend in NYC - yes, I know I must look gigantic next to my friend Jen - who is all of 102lbs soaking wet- but I was 183lbs when this was taken. I hope these don't come out too big! I'm sorry! I don't know how shrink the dang pictures!

Wow, you are looking fantastic! Way to go! :thumbsup2

All right, a short bio. Let's see, where to begin? My name is Aaron. I am 30 years old, married 2 years, no kids, one Cocker Spaniel named Molly. I have lived in the same small town in Wisconsin (population ~5500) my entire life. I'm about an hour north of Milwaukee; an hour south of Green Bay; and 15 minutes from Sheboygan (the brat capital of America). I was a pretty average high school student; got A's and B's on all my tests but hated doing homework so I mostly got C's on my report card. I was lazy in getting my college applications out, so upon graduation my choices were either work force or tech school. I decided on a local 2-year tech school, still hated doing homework so it took me three years to graduate. I work as an Application Development Specialist, which is just a fancy name for a computer programmer. I don't mind my job, but I hate talking about it so I hardly ever mention it. I love music, and up until two years ago would routinely buy 2-3 CD's a week. But then I decided to become a little more fiscally responsible, so I broke that habit. My favorite styles of music are blues, with BB King being my absolute favorite; and classic rock, leaning more towards the Southern variety such as The Allman Brothers and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I also really like big band music and stuff from that era. I consider myself an old soul; I like old movies, old TV shows, old music, old cars, old houses; heck, I even like old people. I don't really have any hobbies because I can't seem to settle on one. I love to cook, but unfortunately I also love to eat, which is what brought me here. My highest weight ever was 240 pounds, which I hit around March of 2005. I had hit rock bottom, was nearing depression, and was pretty much hating life in general. My wife (then fiancée) gave me a Weight Watchers online membership for our dating anniversary, and I was able to lose about 25 pounds before our August 2005 wedding which boosted my self esteem 10 fold. We honeymooned at Disney World with free dining, I gained back 10 pounds, and I hovered around that weight until January of this year. I rededicated myself to losing weight again, and have managed to lose a little more than 35 pounds since.

Here's a picture of me and my wife that I used to have in my signature before they started to limit how big your signature can be. It was taken this past September (I'd say the location is pretty obvious). It's a little small, but you get the idea.

And here's a picture of little Molly:

Amber Here's a photo of my babies. The grey/white one is Andy and the pink/brown one is Paris Hairless Hilton. Paris is very lovable and will go to anyone. Andy is MY dog. It was 6 months before he would go near DH and it was a year before DS26, who lives with us, could come near him. I'm the only one who could probably catch him--he still runs from DH and DS. And forget any strangers touching him, which makes vacations very tough on both of us.

Now I want to see a photo of your babies.

Gina You look fabulous, even standing next to a size 1 person (why do we always do that to ourselves). You can definitely tell you've made serious progress losing weight so congrats on that.

Tia I have OCD also and I laughed when I read how your food has to come out even and can't touch. Same here. I also count when I walk which is becoming very interesting as I'm up to about 90 minutes a day of walking and that's a lot of numbers to keep track of.

Aaron Major kudos for hitting that milestone. What an inspiration to the rest of us that perserverance can work. And good luck with the IRS audit at work--I don't envy anyone that project.

Well I see the software technicians are here. We have a major snafu in the accounting/inventory software. A great way to end the week.

No time to read at the moment. I'll be back later to catch up. But I wanted to post my weigh in info.

I have gained 3.2 of the 5 lbs I lost last week. :( That puts me at 220.4. But I totally expected it with AF having arrived yesterday. I feel SO bloated! But the good thing about this is that I also expect to see much of the gain gone by this time next week. And as long as I am down 1.4 lbs by then, I'll still be at Turkey Day goal weight. So, I'll work hard and drink a LOT of water, and hopefully I'll be where I need to be next week. :)

I need to take a picture of Riley right now. He has a really bad haircut! We've started grooming him at home to save money and Tammy shaved all the hair off his face. :rotfl2:
It's amazing how much he looks like your andy right now in the face.

Riley as a puppy

This is the only one I have of little Amber - Tammy's holding her
and it's hard to see her for Riley

And since I'm in photobucket, here's my disgusting before pic.

I would post my FAVORITE after picture - but I think utah would kill me. Just scroll back a page or two. ;)
And ignore her imaginary faults.

Hi All!:wave2:

I know today is WI, but I am opting out. :guilty: As a matter of fact, Aaron, take me off the Thanksgiving Challenge as well. I have been have some physical issues and this weight just isn't budging! :scared1: I'm very frustrated and not liking myself much right now.

However, I am going to put that behind me, as I am headed to WDW in 2 days!!! WOOHOO!! :woohoo: When I come home, I am hoping there will be a Christmas Challenge starting and I will definitely be a part of that!!!

Thanks for all the new Bio's and the old one's that have been resurrected! :hippie: Nice to get to know y'all!

I'll try to do my bio tonight when I get home and have some pics to add to it! :hippie:

okay i am posting my weight loss -5 but i will have to catch up in a bit i have a rare disease that i need to take care of it is called 2yroldidis:lmao: he gets into everything and what he is doing now does not sound good BBL:confused3

i love everyone's little bios and pics!!! we are some good-lookin peeps!!!! and gina, i can tell a big difference in your before and after pics!

And shoes! But I guess that's typical of most women, isn't it?

i have a shoe 'problem' too. purses, not so much. i usually only have 2 purses that i use: brown and black, depending on my outfit.

punkin - I mised the drama with the reception. it's for your wonderwoman friend, right?
the new place looks nice.

basically, to make a very long and dramatic story short, we were supposed to have the reception at a clubhouse in a subdivision. we found out on tuesday night that this was no longer possible because they double-booked the place. invitations had gone out with location and directions in them. so yeah.....that was kind of a problem. so we spent all day wednesday calling places (while everyone involved was also trying to actually do their jobs at the same time) and we found something late wednesday afternoon. anna and i went to look at it yesterday and it's all worked out now. but i think i sprouted a few dozen (more) grey hairs during all of this!

i skipped an entire page before i multi-quoted! :scared1: again, love all the bios and pics!

However, I am going to put that behind me, as I am headed to WDW in 2 days!!! WOOHOO!! :woohoo:

HAVE A BLAST!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

ray just e-mailed me. one of his co-worker's mother-in-law is in ICU and they don't think she'll make it and they're trying to find a home for her dog......who's a very cute beagle. most of you know.....i have a thing for beagles. i CANNOT have a third dog! we don't have the room or the money for extra food/vet bills, etc. ANYONE WANT A REALLY CUTE LITTLE BEAGLE FROM GEORGIA????

dodger.jpg

Kat We hope to retire to Orlando too. But I'm keeping the DVC so the kids have a place to stay when they visit. If they were to stay with us, it might cause me to have to do some hostessing work and that would be out of the question.

..

Well, I did 90 minutes on the treadmill and ate my prunes. Let's see if it helps tomorrow morning.

Actually, Faith, I think I might want to move to Orlando before retirement. Some of the WDW software is built on the same platform as what I do here, so I have been considering applying for a job there. I have looked on disneycareers and they have a few positions that read like my resume, so I may dust it off and send it this weekend.

Great job on the exercise!

Gina, you look fabulous. Wow what a difference!! Funny, though, I started at 218 and was 183 at my last weighin!

UM, thanks for the compliment on the photo. I also agree w/ celery as to yours... imaginary flaws for sure!

Dawn, glad you found a place. What a cute dog, I hope they find a home!

MRNs I love the pic... rock star hair!!

Well, ladies (and gentleman!), I am going to start Alli tonight. Wish me luck!

Nikki- WOW! love the rockstar hair! You are really a cutie!

MRNs I love the pic... rock star hair!!

Well, ladies (and gentleman!), I am going to start Alli tonight. Wish me luck!

Thanks, ladies! I really do need to post another picture of my hair from the wedding, though...to show the true rockstar hair!
Good luck w/ the Alli HK!

I haven't seen those purses...otherwise, I'd probably have one!
Congrats on finishing the needlepoint! I'm sure she'll love it! We are giving my ILs a trip to WDW for Christmas this year, so I hope they don't expect anything else!

Congrats on the wt loss! You look great!

My friend Rach, used to call me an introverted extrovert -- I tend to be quiet and reserved, especially around new people -- but when I get to know you, watch out!! I also have a sarcastic, dry sense of humor and an eyebrow that arches on command (very useful when working in a profession that is quite male dominated).

Wow! You could be describing me (except I work from home and not w/ a bunch of men)! I can be a little shy when I first meet someone, and once people get to know me they tell me that I am a completely different person than they thought.

I rededicated myself to losing weight again, and have managed to lose a little more than 35 pounds since.
Congrats on all your weight loss! Hopefully, your motivation will rub off on me!

i have a shoe 'problem' too. purses, not so much. i usually only have 2 purses that i use: brown and black, depending on my outfit.
I really do have a problem! We moved into a new house last year and my purses are still packed away (b/c I can't get my husband to put up some hooks for me). Anyway, they are in 2 HUGE washer and dryer boxes! That's how many I have! It's really kind of sad!

I LOST 1.4 this week! I'm pretty happy w/ that considering the ridiculous amount of food I've eaten in the last two days! My DH is out-of-town on business, so w/ the craziness of taking care of my newborn and my three-year-old, I've just grabbed whatever was quick to eat...no matter how fattening! Thank goodness he gets back tonight!

Every time I sat down to dis something interrupted me and as I type my sister and her kids just walked in.

So, this will be short. Despite my poor dieting skills this week I still managed to lose 2 pounds.

Probably just water.

Amber I can very much see the resemblence my Andy has to your Riley. I guess that's why I think Riley is so cute!!!! And your before picture is so different than your after picture (with UM looking booty-licious behind you), that it's like a completely different person.

Dawn I'm glad I live clear over on the left coast because DH would kill me if I brought home another dog. I'm sure a home will be found.

Kat Keep us updated on the Disney career. Gosh, I wish I could do it before retirement but I have such a great job right now with excellent salary and perks so I can't see myself leaving it behind. I do hope to someday work at WDW part-time though. And good luck with the Allie. My BF started out on it and did really well but she has now cut so much fat out of her diet that it is no longer effective for her. She didn't have the really bad side effects that we've heard about it--I guess she was already pretty low fat when she started.

Gayle Since it's the weekend I'll probably forget but I wanted to tell you to have a good time on your land/sea vacation. I've been reading your pre-trip and I'm sure you guys are going to have a wild time. I'll be looking forward to the trip report when you return since I've never done the Disney cruising.

Aaron I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd in concert back in the 70's when I was living in Mississippi. I didn't think anybody remembered them. A great band. I love music too.

Nikki How nice to take your IL's to WDW--what a great xmas present. Next year, when we take our grown kids/families, we are also taking my DH's ex-wife and her DH. It will be the 3rd time we have vacationed together and we get along great. Most people find it odd but I feel lucky that we are able to have good relationships like that. Thank goodness having DVC helps offset those trip costs because 10 adults can sure ring up a pretty good meal/bar tab.

I'm going to be a single gal this weekend. DH is going to the coast golfing with his cronies from the country club. I should lose a ton of weight because I'm not sure I know how to fix myself anything to eat. It may just be Cheerios until he returns.

Wonders- are those level 7 warm honey blonde hi-lights I spy? I love the cut and the color, even if they're growing out :cutie:

Beats me :confused3 It is what my stylist has been doing for awhile now. I made the plunge today and called the salon. Going for a teeny tiny trim next week...and getting my hair colored back to my natural color. My mom thinks I will hate it because it will be so dark but I just need a change. Worse case scenario is I hate it and get the highlights re-done.

I don't think I've ever admitted but I have tried a few times to purge after some of my bigger binges, when I was just in a bad place. I came close to doing it once, but I couldn't "do it". Like physically, my body wasn't doing it. I 'm not OCD about food, but I do have OCD tendencies for other things.

I opted out of weigh in because I've been doing so horribly with eating better and because I got AF today and I feel even bigger than I already am. I probably won't reach my Turkey Day goal but please still leave me on the list.

Samer here... Ok by me, I think i did enough this week that i should be able to see the results for real next week..
Oh by the way I really want to post a pic for the bio thing, but my pictures won't resize on photobucket...I'll keep trying though...
Have a great Friday!!

If photobucket isn't "resizing" try just deleting your cookies. Sometimes your puter will just show the image it last saved so it's not saving multiples of the same thing.

I emptied out all of my cabinets and cupboards in the kitchen. And everything out of the new dinning room, cept for my treadmill. Need to figure out where that is going. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Wonders: I cut my hair real short, after the baby, and all the blonde went away. Two days later I was calling my hairstylist for highlights. My hair was never this dark. And I found gray. I was so sad.

I'll do a bio tomorrow.
