Spoppins- It means Laugh my "bum" off... LMAO Hahahaha!

Yeah Shannon! I am so glad everything went so well for you. I had a hot dentist a few yrs ago...made those visits a little more bearable ;)

Funny tooth story- when my DH had his wisdom teeth out I was his driver...this was back when we were just dating. Anyways, after he came to, he asked the nurse what he could eat. She said he could have anthing he felt up to eating. So he told her he was going to go get a steak! She then left the room for a sec, and he leaned over and fell off the bench :rotfl: I had no idea at the time, but he was trying to grab my :jumping3: :jumping3: He said they looked HUGE in his sedated state! He then made me drive him to go buy some stupid video game, with the icky gauze still in his mouth, so he would have something to do while he recoverved. Such a dope. That was such an adventure, and I still remember it over 10 yrs later.

SHHH, dont tell him I told his silly story ;)

So funny - I'm wondering if I said anything else while I was "under". I've been dozing on and off all night while watching TV. I think I might just stay on the couch tonight and continue doing the same because once again, I'm wide awake. And HUNGRY! But I can't eat anything. I plan to start my day of tomorrow with some ice cream ;) My mouth is much more sore now - I think the novicaine and stuff has worn off. I'm on percocet like I mentioned and took one when I got home and just took another so hopefully it will kick in soon. Have a great night Peeps! :grouphug:

I'll post it again. spoiler fix dot com and then look for grey's. I also get some gilmore girls spoilers here as well. And even though they are spoilers and I sometimes have a clue as to what is going on, I still get totally :scared1: when watching the show because I either forget or it happens slightly differently, etc.

So I SURVIVED! The teeth are gone! The dentist and nurse were really nice and sweet and didn't seem annoyed at all with my anxious chatting. It took him a couple times to get my IV (I warned him I have small veins) but it wasn't that bad actually. Then he gave me some meds to relax before the actual sleep medician. Next thing I know I was talking to the nurse, looked up and the room was spinning, closed my eyes, and then I was waking up and it was done! So relieved.

Funny story, I brought my ipod in case I wasn't totally out of it thinking it would make me relax and I just had it in my lap. Never used it. But apparently, I kept asking the nurse if I could turn it on :rotfl2: Don't remember any of that!

Although my mouth is pretty sore, can't really talk, and I have to keep biting down on gauze pads to control the bleeding and make it clot. And the dr called about a half hour just to see how I was and make sure I was doing what I was supposed to be doing. I go back next friday for my follow up. Did I mention that my dentist was pretty cute? Definitely on the younger side and if it weren't for my nerves I would have totally been swooning over him caressing my arm and telling me I'll be fine :cloud9: I'm also on amoxicillin, and the cheap form of percocet which is taking too long to kick in IMO.

Anyway, I can't believe that I am so wide awake! I feel a little wobbly but definite not ready for sleep.

I just wanted to thank you for your prayers and good thoughts and for just letting me talk about it with all of you  . I appreciate it a lot! :grouphug: :grouphug:

Oh and congrats to all the losers! :thumbsup2 And the samers/gainers :thumbsup2 to you as well for jumping back on the wagon and coming here to at least post your results!
Glad that all went well. Be sure to do what he said do.
CONGRATULATIONS! I just got a ribbon today as well. WOOOOO HOOOOOTY!

WOOOO HOOOOTY:woohoo:

I'm planning on visiting the UK next spring! I'm soo excited. My dh has been promising to take me there since we got married 14 years ago! Maybe we can arrange a mini peep meet! I love cadbury's chocolate, so you'll have to tell me which ones to try!
Oh there's lots to try and if you're on vacation you can't diet can you.

I'm so glad it went OK I didn't tell you before but when I had mine out I was just given a numbing injection, I had to have 2 wisdom teeth pulled, I was OK with the first but when they did the second I fainted!!!! I felt so silly and the worst thing was that they couldn't pull the second tooth while I was passed out so had to wait for me to come round before they could do it. :scared1: I make quite a habit of passing out I had to have an op a couple of years ago and was so pleased with myself for being brave well they wheeled me down and put my IV in and I was gone, DH got really worried as there was suddenly loads of people running around, when I came round I thought they'd done the whole op and how easy it had been when it hadn't even started. :rotfl2:

Have a good weekend peeps, I'm off to walk around the golf course as Jess has a competition.

GOOD MORNING, PEEPS!!! :sunny:

So this is it??? I slept in and was expecting to have to catch up on like 5 pages and my post from before WHAT NOT TO WEAR is still at the top of the page?? Did everybody go out to eat last night since it was weigh in day??

OK, Shannon...now that you've had it done......here's my long, boring wisdom tooth story.......

It was the spring of 1993 and I was pregnant. One of my impacted but partially erupted wisdom teeth became abcessed. After being up all night with pain that rivaled labor pain, I went to the oral surgeon. I refused the x-ray and he put me on antibiotics.

I went back the next week to have the tooth removed. They couldn't put me to sleep because I was pregnant so they put what seemed like 47 shots of novicaine in my mouth and he proceeded with the scapel. "Just close your eyes and pretend like I'm not here." He got the tooth out fairly quickly but since he didn't have an x-ray, he didn't know that the root was fused to my jaw bone.

Then he went in with the "grinder" and literally ground the root off the bone. They packed it with gauze and told me that it would take several hours for all the novicaine to wear off and gave me a prescription for tylenol 3. I called my husband and by the time he got there, my pregnant body had already metabolized the novicaine and I was standing the parking lot crying.

To make a long story short....tylenol 3 stinks and cannot ease the pain of oral surgery. It was a very long day followed by a very long week of a nagging pain that went from my jaw to my ear. At my one week follow up appt. I described the pain and the doctor said "Oh...you've got a dry socket!"

Then I got the pleasure of driving back over to their office daily for a week to have my dry socket packed with the most rancid substance in the universe...a clove extract. The first day I stopped at a stop sign on the way home and opened the door because I thought I was gonna puke. Nasty, I tell ya!

Anyway....the pain of the wisdom tooth removal rivaled the pain of the posterior birth of my 9 lb. baby that next September. And now you can see why I didn't want to tell you that story BEFORE you had the teeth out.

SHANNON....I'm sure you can layer ibuprofen with percoset....that's what they did at the hospital when I had DS6. They gave me 800 mg of ibuprofen and if I started hurting before it was time for more, they gave me percoset. Just a thought.

HAVE A GREAT DAY, EVERYONE!!

Good Morning all. I guess everyone went out and are now sleeping in. DH an I went out with some friends and did not get back until late. BUt with DS every morning starts by 6:30--wa hoooo. Off to a soccer game and it is 33 but feels like 29 with the wind-- so that means at the field it will be like 25. Oh boy--I can't wait to go freeze.

Yep I fall into the out to eat bunch, celebrated my loss by eating way to much and now I feel awful...but th positive is normally I would eat all weekend, last night I had a cheat meal...baby steps right?

I am off to spend a day with rowdy boys and my attitude is very poor lately...last night my youngest told me I was no fun at all, which hurt my feelings, cause I try to do everything they ever want. DH only added to it and egged him on, DH was just joking but sometimes alot of truth is said in jest...so now I feel awful, I sick and my feelings are hurt AND I get the added pleasure of running them all over town, but I 'll make sure they dont have any fun at all:mad: just wanna go back to bed and ust into tears, and this is SO not me I DO NOT CRY!!! Time to go put on my cabbie driver hat, so rry to vent this morning, thanks for listening, I'll be out til around 3 then I will be at home the rest of the day, cause I am no fun and I have no life

WOW! CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR BIG LOSERS! :rotfl: You girls deserve this :cool1: and this  and this :woohoo: and this :yay: and this :cheer2: and finally this :worship:.

I'll second that, and give each of y'all a big, huge...

WOOOOHOOOOTY

and even more :grouphug: for those of you that shared your :scared: horror stories:scared1: I thought mine was bad - I just had the stupid man put his knee on my chest pullin to get the @#&*@# Tooth out!! But DH when he had his out (I was his driver!!) he was sedated, and easy going, with absolutely no complications!! :cloud9:

I had a bad night, my hyatel (sp?) Hernia kicked in, nothing like wakin from a deep sleep at 2am to throwing up inside your mouth!! Took some zantak. I've been thinking this could be my new diet, whenever I choke or throw up, its time to stop eating!! (the hernia causes food to get 'stuck' and then if I dare to start hiccuping (often as a result) I have to go into a "zen mediation" state and often, I end up in the bathroom throwin up.... :sad2: (of course I might be into anorexia state then...)

Well if nothing else, lets all grab on...

My doctor suspects my heartburn issue is due to a hyatel hernia also! He put me on Prilosec OTC, and it is WONDERFUL! I take it everyday. I need to schedule an appointment though, because I am almost out, and I don't know if he wants me to continue or see how I do without it. He also recommended eating small portions which, since I have been doing because of the lifestyle changes I have been making, I believe is making a difference too. The problem is that I think if he takes me off the Prilosec, and it is not better, he wants to do a scope, which I have NO DESIRE to do! How long ago did your hyatel hernia get diagnosed?

And now you can see why I didn't want to tell you that story BEFORE you had the teeth out.

:scared1: Uh... yeah!

Yep I fall into the out to eat bunch, celebrated my loss by eating way to much and now I feel awful...but th positive is normally I would eat all weekend, last night I had a cheat meal...baby steps right?

I'm kinda glad my weigh day ended up being Mondays... keeps my from relaxing too much on the weekends... and there aren't nearly so many opportunities to "cheat" on Mondays. Weekends are dangerous for me... I just do what I've got to do and DD ends up fending for herself.

Have a great day Peeps!

Off to Yoga :worship:

Awww, Dont beat yourself up over this. I am sure it hurt, trust me, I have been on the receiving end of those type of comments before, but you do have a life!! Sometimes by trying to give everyone everything we can, they end up taking advantage of it and thinking you have nothing better to do with your time....which isnt true. You are choosing to give OF yourself instead of TO yourself. I think I do the same thing. I am running all over the place instead of actually joining in on the activities I am rushing so hard to get to!

HARLEY! Might I suggest a nice motherly dose of GUILT for those boys? Ahhhh yessss, that ought to work wonders. If MY boys make a comment, I lecture till they're in tears of appology. :thumbsup2 HA!

Thanks for NOT telling me that before my surgery. But I'm still really paranoid that I'm going to get a dry socket. I'm chomping on the gauze and making sure I'm doing everything right. My mom took a little look-see and said that you would never be able to tell I had surgery because the stitches are hidden so well and everything is so neat looking. I guess that is a good sign. I had 3 mini-scoops of ice cream for "breakfast" and some water. It hurts but I had sort of built up a good tolerance for the throbbing over the past month. Never the less I just took a percocet so I can relax and heal. The nurse told me that the side that was hurting me had actually erupted a bit (hence the pain and inflammation) but my other tooth was sideways! In the Xray, instead of seeing the tooth from top to bottom, all I saw was the top of a tooth. :scared1: Anyway, just resting easy today and will try to get some school work done later on so I don't get too far behind.

and even more :grouphug: for those of you that shared your :scared: horror stories:scared1: I thought mine was bad - I just had the stupid man put his knee on my chest pullin to get the @#&*@# Tooth out!! I HAVE to know where do you get your cute siggy pics? I did a search for some but they weren't anywhere near as cute as yours!

Ok, gonna go rest up. Stupid dog is barking and being really annoying. Doesn't she know mama is in recuperation mode?

Enjoy your Saturday!

Lynda I think I was diagnosed almost 20 years ago, back when zantac was prescription only (150 mg the OTC is 75, so I take two!!) I was strict about taking it daily for about 6 months (oh, and I did have to have an upper GI - - ICK!!) Then I started a food diary and found some "trigger" foods (hot dogs and carrots of all things... of course spicey foods, and garlicky foods - I found if I roast my garlic its ok!) So, being stubborn (or frugal?!) I slowly weaned myself off, and stayed away from trigger foods... and then when I do plan on eating a spicey meal - then take a zantac - I also have to avoid alcohol if I take a zantac as it doubles the potency of alcohol!! So last night we had Chinese, but I also had wine, so I didnt take a zantac - and paid for it at 2 am!!

Its quite manageble - but still a pain!!

HARLEY! Might I suggest a nice motherly dose of GUILT for those boys? Ahhhh yessss, that ought to work wonders. If MY boys make a comment, I lecture till they're in tears of appology. :thumbsup2 HA!

ITA :thumbsup2 and my first born is still susecptible (at 21yrs) I still have to work harder on that 18yr old!!

Tomorrow I have 11 people, 6 are kids, coming here for lunch, as we are having "Friendship Day" at church. You sign up to either host or go somewhere for lunch and meet some new people. You don't find out until that day where you are going or who is coming to your house! :yay: It'll be fun as long as I don't spend my time in the potty! :rotfl:

The menu:
Beef/Veggie soup (in the crockpot)
cheese/bread
make your own sundaes & chocolate chip cookies

OK...now I'm rambeling! I'll check back later.

PS: Wendy...2 lbs gone are better than none! :rotfl2:
