HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!

DH left yesterday to go out of town. He went valentines shopping for everyone beofre he left--I was very shocked. He did not buy any choc.

Ok, Let me explain.

I love my new job. I was just stressed yesterday, due to all the changes in my life.

Things are not going to be so bad... and, today I was offered the PayPal job.

I believe I am gonna turn it down. I was gonna discuss it with Gumpy.

I dont believe I want that job anymore due to the fact I would be working Sat, Sun, Monday 8am to 9pm.

I dont think I want to give up every weekend at this juncture in my life.

So lets be clear... I am happy, happy, happy!!!

Oh my gosh...my son, Baylor (11) is on speaker phone and I am eavesdropping through the open kitchen...okay I will not deny this...A girl who is super cute (looks like Princess Aurora ) called him...she is fishing for compliments so bad and I am dying here. They have been good friends for 3 years..she runs the fastest he says!

She is now talking about Oprah (can u hear me laughing because I so am) and how romantic relationships have evolved through people who are good friends. OMG...he just said who watches Oprah? She said my mom does. He said...your Mom makes you watch Oprah?

She explains sort of...he says that is really mean. (Okay ...I know and you know that this little cutie patootie is already trying to master the womens skills of easing into a conversation through a media source!) He is so much his oblivious fathers child!

So then....she gets onto who likes who as friends in their school and who could possibly be more than friends when they are older. He does not pick up on the 100 foot elephant in the room still!

The poor helpless girl finally says..."Well what about me?" He says, "YOU??? " in his loudest Are you completely nuts, voice.

My baby...then crushed her like a mosquito going 20 on a freeway going 70. He said..."Well your not ugly." She said..."Thanks" and then start your size 7 sneakers because the back-peddaling began. He is not Rico Suave I just learned. He is Opey and he likes girls as friends and can not figure out why they call him 24/7. Thank Goodness for me...but for her...we should all start saving for her therapy....I can hear Dr. Phil now...

"Well, he did not really say he didn't like you. He said he didn't find you ugly."

Happy Valentines Day to you all..don't we remember back then!

He now is talking to her about the fact they have "Body awareness " day next week. I just heard him yell out "WELL THAT'S JUST WONDERFUL" he then comes into my room and says..."Guess what" I say "what" he says
"Jessica's mom is a nurse and she brought home all the body movies for her to watch. Can you believe she makes her watch Oprah and body movies!"

Score again for me! As long as I don't have the "Jill and Jack...How to in the sack" book or movie on loan from the library...I will be again awarded "Mom of the Year" from him!

Okay...he is now getting ready for bed so this will have to be postponned on further chapters till tomm.

He did get on the phone w/ buddy "Sam" as soon as he and Jessica got off the phone.
He said to Sam...."Your Mom's a nurse...would she make you watch body movies?" Sam said..."No...but my brothers girlfriend (they are in their 20's) had that baby last year that wasn't his so I am sure she thinks I have it all figured out. I mean I get the main points but I don't know how... ya know..."

Baylor says..."yeah...I know"

I am not old enough for this! His older brother has been in love with girls since in-utero. So thank you God for giving me this one who still loves me best and does not care about...you know.

Dawn my Jessica (10 1/2) is exactly the same as your DS, she likes boys but anything more yuck, I like it that way as I know it will change very soon!

Ellie made and sent a Valentines card yesterday and I thought it was so sweet until I found out it was a dare!!!!!!

I'm phoning the States in an hour, ADR's.

No school here AGAIN TODAY!!! There's not a lot of visible snow but I suspect that the see-your-breath-cold rain all froze last night. No school means No church again tonight and my little mission group is supposed to sing at the nursing home tonight! I don't want those poor people to be disappointed! More news later......if we have internet service at work today...it was down all day yesterday!! No stealth DISing!!

So lets be clear... I am happy, happy, happy!!!

Way to look on the bright side, Bee! I wouldn't give up my weekends either!

I haven't worked for 12 years and I'm afraid only McDonalds would hire me!

Winkers! Shame on you! I'm sure lots of great places would love to have your charm, wit, and hard working momma skills on board. I had not worked for several years when I started the PT job I have now and well.....I think I've still got it. You'll be fine.

Oh yeah I do want to say that I got a new(to me) van today!!! My kids and nephews are more excited than me I think.My old one is fairly embarrassing. This was very unexpected so I am on cloud nine.

Bravo for the new van!!! My last car was fairly embarrasing too. We bought it used and I had it for 12 years. Congratulations to you (and the kids)!

And I don't have to go to work tomorrow. The clinic I work for is closed tomorrow, which NEVER happens!

She got the all clear!!! All cysts benign! Stacey....I don't know what happened at work yesterday but don't let it get you down. I have known from the very minute I started reading your posts that you are a high-energy, God-fearing woman with a heart for Christian service. DO NOT let anyone make you feel bad about being sick!!! I suspect that you have been taking up the slack around your church and some people may resent the fact that you can't do that right now. The pain in your hip is invisible to others but God knows it there and He knows how bad you feel. That's all that's important. Don't overdo it because the world thinks you should.

I feel like my resolve is slipping. My ear finally has stopped hurting (after 2 weeks), so I'm jumping in with the 30 minute exercise challenge (if I say it, I'll do it).

I feel like my resolve is slipping a bit too. I think it's the winter weather here. I don't want cold water and I just want hot food....no salad/fruit. I am keeping up the 2 miles a day walking though so that's one good thing. Glad your ear is finally better, Danielle.

More snow here...school is closed, however that doesn't affect me anymore, so I really don't worry about it. Snow is still coming down. I hate to drive in this weather. Luckily I am at the deli today and it is close by.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!!! ​

I am sitting here in my brand new office chair that DH gave me last night for Valentine's along with some beautiful pink tulips! Go DH!

I know a chair doesn't sound exciting, but my other one wouldn't stay up. It would keep falling down inch by inch. So now I can DIS in comfort!

We all celebrated last night because we have hockey tonight and wouldn't have time. I still have one more surprise for DH though!

Now more serious matters. I really need your support. I just made the appt to get my wisdom teeth yanked on Friday. I feel better knowing that it will be taken care of. But I'm also very very nervouse about it. I will be having IV sedation and I think I'm gonna be asleep if not pretty darn near close. I'm very scared about it.

But I can't chat anymore. Have to get ready to go to school.

There is school today!! DH shoveled the drive and cleared all the cars!! (DS girlfriend enjoyed her stay with us!! ) (oh, and he has clothes on!! of course, he doesnt have a coat on!!! )

Although, because I was a little stressed out today and overwhelmed and had my feelings hurt at work - I made bad food choices. I have had a couple of pieces of V-Day candy. But they were minatures and I went for the dark chocolate (it's good for you - right!?) Anyway, I am feeling better tonight and really trying to pray through all my mixed, crazy emotions. Right now I think I am wrestling most with what others will think. When I can't do what I usually do (I am usually the workhorse - my leadership motto has always been to never ask someone to do something that you aren't willing to do. Servant leadership. Be the first to show up and the last to leave. And out work everyone.), will people think I am just trying to cop out? Sorry so long - I know I need to go to God with this and just pray it through.

Sorry you had rough day. Hopefully today will be better.

Wonders10- I used to be a Dental Assistant so I can say on full authority ( ) that you'll be just fine on friday! It wont hurt till later....where you'll have Rx pain meds on board to help. You WILL lose weight, just to look at the bright side! (I look at the bright side for the stomach flu too)

Hello Peeps -

I am off to shower and head to St. Paul to a restaurant/Bakery called Cupcake.

I have heard so many awesome things about this place and thought it would be fun to get some special cupcakes for the kids for Valentines day. They have Smores. Red Velvet, Carrot Cake, Mocha etc. cupcakes and one w/ Chili Powder in it that they call "Burning Love".

My idea is to get each person a special one in our family. That will be their Valentine treat. It will also prevent me form eating the other 15 cupcakes if I would make them! I want my family to enjoy food...all food but eat in moderation and know that "treats" are just that...a treat. It is not part of the 5 food groups! (Not that I would complain if somehow choclate frosting became healthy!)

I saw the owner on our local morning TV talk show and he said something that will stick with me forever.

"Life needs more frosting"

So simple yet so eloquent. We need that "Frosting" in our lives to make us whole and make us know we are worth it and others as well.

So challenge yourself to get some more frosting in your lives.

Massages, walks, time alone, reading, candles, bubble baths, moonlit conversations, cuddle time, dinner as a family, flowers, the smell of clean sheets etc..etc..

Without all those "Frostings" we would just have life that was dry and plain. Like a cake w/ no FROSTING!!!!

If you don't have any frosting in your life this Valentines day...go make some of your own and enjoy the taste!

Here's a few tips for you!! BRING Ice paks with you!! Yes, that sounds redundant - but seriously, grab a cooler and put 4 or more of those reusable ice paks FROZEN... and when you finish like UMA says, you'll luv those drugs... but when you get in the car, immediately get and keep those ice paks on your face!! Expect to look swollen -

Also, pre surgery, have on hand your favorite yogurt, and soft foods, you wont want anything hot, but yogurt, pudding, jello, cottage cheese, blended foods - - be prepared!!

See if you can get the pain medication PRE SURGERY - ie, if you can have the drugs BEFORE surgery, then after surgery you wont have to stop to get it filled!! (this was a tip dh's oral surgeon does!!)

I have no reason why my post which I made after Melinda did her summary, showed up here!! at a LATE time!! I took a long nap, dh took dd to school, and I fell fast asleep!!

I had that done 6 years ago. One second they were putting in my iv and the next they were waking me up saying they were done! The worst part for me was waking up from the anastisia (i know I didn't spell that right!).

Haven't been here in awhile. If you remember, I went on a cruise for my 50th bday, which was fabulous! Anyway, I can't begin to get caught up with everything on this thread. Kudos to those of you who can keep up!

So, new favorite snack:

banana and sugar-free choc pudding cup

I just dunk the banana in it and eat it but you could cut it up and mix it in the pudding if you want to. It's yummy and easy to eat at work.

You guys are also so quick and cute about your seasonal siggies. I just recently remembered to get rid of the groundhog.

Have a good one and eat healthy!
