I am confident Stacey you get a go to heaven directly do not pass go and do not collect the laundry! After foot surgery and I cooked meals well in advance I was home 30 minutes and DH could not find anything that was well marked IN BIG BOLD letters. When I went back to Doctor he was surprised to notice my sticthces split! He could not understnad what could ahve happened?? Didn't I stay off my feet?? YEah right buddy, Mom's know NO such luxury unless there is a vent tube and they are under sedation!

I agree - I am quite sure we get some type of extra diamonds in Heaven!

Ok... that post by me a little bit ago, was Grumpy. He accidently posted under me.

Anyway, first day of work. Remember how I was stressed about the girls.
Well, it was icy this morning so I left early. I get a call telling me that her cell phone is in my car. Then, a few minutes later Grumpy calls and I find out I also have all of Tori's bus tickets. So, Grumpy has to take her to school and she has to buy more tickets (min $25).

Then, I call home, I just looked at caller id.. 7 times.. (am I OCD or what ) No answer. So between 330 and 430 I am worried about the girls. I get a call from MIL, they are with her. Tori had to stay after school and Dani said she was locked out. So, I guess my stressed out feeling ahead of time was warrented.

Anyway, glad to be back at work. I have to walk 2 blocks to and from so that will help with the weight loss.. .

Bee, I am so sorry you had a few snafus your first day. Tomorrow will be better! I am sure of it!

I am taking a dishes/project break to check in. Very frustrating night! But DH said he was on his way home and for me to leave the dishes for him. OK!

I was listening to Wife Swap (taping 24 so I can watch later) while I cooked. That show is so funny. Midianite homeschooling traditional no pants for girls family swaps with drunk, punk rock band, cussing family! Great stuff. First of all the Midianite family said they don't watch tv - so how did they know about Wife Swap!

Aaaaannnndddd......Why do the families always looked so surprised about who they swap with and the rules they must follow? Hello - they always have to swap with some one totally opposite! The Christian always gets put with the Satanist/wican priest. The slob always gets to swap with the neat freak. Don't go on the show if it is going to offend you. I love the Christian families who go on there and talk about how they are protecting their kids from outside influences then they go on a show and invite a witch to come live in their house. Weird stuff. Anyway - back to JFK!

My DD is 13 but in 8th grade and as the youngest in her grade. We have gone through our share of song debates as well. I think the Gwen Steffani song is alright. Bottom line...they will hear it...they will listen to it...but their reaction to it comes from you.

I say talk to them about the lyrics. Have them read it aloud to you and explain in their own words what they hear. If it is a song they are too embarrased to read out loud...then it is a non negotiable.

UM (and anyone else needing/wanting a little challenge), you can do at least 25 minutes today! I will do it too! Got batteries for my bike (exercise bike, that is - need batteries for the tension). I will be riding it! So, do something - anything for 25 minutes, and do it for yourself! You know you will feel better for doing it. ya!

I never thought it would matter WWPD?! not really - but I did 30 minutes on the treadmill when I wanted to quit at 15 because you and UM were doing 20 or 25!

Just thought of something - am I the only single PEEP here? Wow - I feel like a loser. Anyway, I'm gonna start thinking of some cute witty things to say and maybe email him tonight.

I'm single too - and a few years older - you're still awfully young and in the middle of your plans for life to feel like you're getting behind! Your timing is just different from others. Imagine what you're doing now with a husband and/or kids too! Wow! And a lot of peeps are doing that, I think! You still have time for both.

I just got home. I got good news and bad news. Let's start with good. My MRI was fine, no surgery for me! Bad news - I have what is called SI Joint dysfunction. The doctor said it would be a lifetime thing. I will go to Physical Therapy 3 times a week to start with and she will teach me exercises to do daily at home. He said my life would have to change. No heavy lifting or doing activities that require a lot of twisting. Right now he does not want me to lift anything heavier that a gallon of milk. My laundry is heavier than that! Then he told scary stories about his patients that have this and how when they didn't keep up with the exercises and did not listen to him, they ended up on disability and in lots of pain. Anyway, I am still processing this. I will learn more when I see the physical therapist - she specializes in this type of pain.

Are you ahead of the game by already being in an exercise mindset or was something you were doing part of what aggravated this?

so nothing really horrible happened and you have built in exercise! That will be great! I am sure once y'all get the routine "down" you won't feel quite so unsettled.

I did my regular workout tonight which includes 15 minutes warm up on the bike and 15 minutes on the treadmill (with the incline on 4.5). That seemed to hurt my back more than usual. Anybody more familiar with the treadmill - would you say that is normal? Anything to worry about - or no pain, no gain?!

DD has entered a school talent show, and this one girl (wealthy family) is acting kinda bossy... and I think this girl is very talented.... so...

DD wanted to add the song to her ipod... um I DONT THINK SO! I admit, I failed as a mom, I did talk about the "outfits" not being suggestive...

and then I call the other mom, who is older than me, and says, ooh well the PTO wouldnt allow that song either, and she yells at her dd, pick another song.. what about "Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani" and the mom is yelling at the dd and then asking me about RIch Girl, because "you know hip hop does have bad lyrics, but its all about the beat"... and i reply... well, I'm sorry if I sound like a prude, but she is my dd, and I have an 18 and 21 year old, and I just have to be watchful.. and I appreciate the time your dd took to choreograph, so I dont know... "

IS Rich GIrl by Gwen Stefani bad lyrics also? I've been telling dd that God gave her to me, and God expects me to raise her in His image... but dd is upset because this girl is all over her now, and I've ruined dd life ("oh well, we can talk homeschool too dd")

My DD13 thinks I am so old and mean because I won't let her have some song for her ring tone that has the words "Smack That" in the chorus...I just don't think it is appropriate!

I know that there are boys that go crazy etc.. but maybe my boys were protected with my innocence in the "hurting is not allowed" I also believed in "circle up" and we had those frank discussions...

so that is tonight. I know this girl is not a "bad girl" and I know my dd is not a "mean girl" but I also believe we walk a fine line, and it could go either way, and its my job as a mom to listen to that voice, and follow those directions...

I do agree - I don't think the 1st song was a go ahead - Gwen song a maybe for me personally as a parent. How old is your DD? It is so hard to compromise w/out compromising morals.

Ok, I'd if my daughter wanted to do that song! How old is she? I've heard Rich Girl before, I don't think there's anything bad, that I can remember in it. I about died when I saw a group of 5 & 6 yr olds doing a dance to prince's When Doves Cry. I think people must not listen to the words!
